When it comes to social media and building a brand, there's over five billion people in the world actively using social media. Over 60% of the planet is actively using social media. Who uses social media most days by show of hands? Any platform? Wow. I mean, basically almost all of us, right?

There's been over 150 million new users in the last 12 months to actively adopt social media in the last 12 months. I actually believe that will go up over the next 12 months. And who's kind of always thought if I didn't get involved in social years ago, it's too late today. It's not true. Now, if you wait another 10 years, maybe not. However, the best time is now. Everybody say now.

Now also the average consumer spends 2 hours and 24 minutes per day on social media. The average person human being in the world spends 2 hours and 24 minutes a day on social media. So the question for you is if this is true and somebody told me it was for the record. If this is true, do you want to be a consumer or a creator of social media? Who's typically only a consumer and you rarely create? Can we flip that a little bit a little bit more this year? Maybe consume it less but create it more.

Social media there is to reach new people. Would you agree? It's not for you to see what Uncle Bob is eating for, you know, Sunday brunch. You know what I mean? It's not. That's what we use it for, but it's not really meant for that. Okay now, it doesn't mean though that just cuz you use it for business that you can only talk about your business. I still want to know what's going on in your personal life, right? Who sees me post all kinds of things about everything that we're doing and it's not all always entirely business all the time? That's because I need to connect with other human beings in the world. And so when I think about this, I want to be a creator, not a consumer. But most people are consumers, but they don't have to be.

So when I think about social media, here's the formula. Here's the formula. Hook, story, offer. Hook, story, offer. That's the formula when you're shooting a video. Hook, story, offer. How do most people start their videos? Hi, my name is Hi, my name is That's right. Sounds like a What is that old? My name is My name is Okay. All right. I couldn't help it, bro. I just came to mind. Okay. Who's like old enough to understand what I'm talking about? Who's too young to know? Tim, you know who Eminem is, bro? It's Come on. Come on. Is this Slim Shady? See My rap game is strong. Tony G, please welcome to the stage. He's gonna rap for us. Okay. Hook, story, offer. Hook, story, offer.

Most people start their videos like if I showed my first video ever. I'm going to cue the AV team because I am going to jump to a video. I'm actually going to jump to YouTube real quick and play a video. Okay. Um, if I go to oldest videos. Oh no. Oh no. Hi, my name is Cody Asins and welcome to the Cody Haskins YouTube channel. Please subscribe below. Today we're going to go over the six things that every new insurance agent needs to be successful. The first thing is training. Roger loves when I say you need one, every new agent needs one day of training. It's hilarious. I put this out. He always laughs at that, which is awesome. He's laughing right now. December 28th of 2015, right? 9 years and two and a half months, right? Is that terrible? Be honest. It sucks. Would you agree? However, I did it and you didn't. Now, I didn't say it was good, but guess what? When you first started riding a bike, were you good? No. No. Like, I fell off and my mom put me back on. I said my dad the other day in this story. My mom said, "No, I'm the one that taught you how to ride a bike." Okay. Give it up for my mother, Patty, wherever she's at. She is incredible, man. She is such an inspiration. I love my mom.

When you think about this though, the problems was, "Hey, my name is Cody Asins. Welcome to the Cody Asin YouTube channel. Thanks for being here. Please subscribe below." Like 15 seconds of nothing. Now, did it still get 5,044 views in 9 years? Sure, that's fine. But I mean, it's been up for eternity, so it's like, okay. But it started terribly. If the title is how to be successful as a new insurance agent, if I would to start out the video by saying if you're new to insurance and you like to see how to be more successful, I'm going to give you three tips that will blow your business away. I promise you, you'll get more value out of this than you ever have. Let's jump to the video. Are you ready? Is that better? That's a lot better. Or I can go back to, hey, this is Cody Asian. Thanks for being on asking teach channel. Please subscribe below. Thanks for being here. No, no, I need a hook. Would you agree?

I need a hook. Then story could is something to connect with the audience. Maybe you're bringing value. You're sharing a stat. You're selling a story. You're sharing something that happened, right? You're engaging them. Then at the end, you've got to push them somewhere, right? If you enjoy this, let me know in comments below and we'll see you on the next one. Right? Or if you'd love for me to fly you around on my plane, type plane in comments below and Steve will pick you up. Pick me up, please. Okay, we're supposed to go flying soon. Are we going to do that or not, Steve? Who thinks Steve and I should go flying? Okay, good. Who wants to join Steve and I flying? He's new, so that's a lot of trust, but you know, we're going to need a bigger plane. Bigger plane, he said. Oh, if to get all of us. Yeah, a lot bigger plane, bro. Airbus 380. Okay, that's what we need. Hook, story, offer.

Who would like to participate in a video really quick? [Applause] Aiden, get up here. Get up here. Give it up for Aiden, man. He's been crushing it. He's been crushing it. Dude's doing a lot of video, by the way. Let's see if he can hop. Let's see if Oh, he's still got it. He's still got it. What's up, dude? Thank you for being here, bro. Appreciate you. Uh, so Aiden Aiden, uh, how old are you? 21. 21. Okay. 21. Now, Aiden is someone that did not do social media nine months ago, a year ago. I started in September after the Kentucky event and every day since then. Leave it up for a few more minutes. Here you go. Thank you, though. Uh, you started after the Kentucky event in September. She's been doing videos since September. That's about eight months. About I think seven months. 160 days, something like that. 160 days of videos every single day. Every day. Every day. Give it up for Aiden. How cool is that? Okay. Now, has it helped your business yet? No. Not yet. Who thought he was going to say yes, dude? It takes time. My first year. Thank you, by the way, Joshua. Give it up for Joshua. He's been incredible. Also, if you think about social media, the first year on YouTube, I got a grand 351 people to subscribe after 365 days. Atrocious. Would you agree? Guess what? Who thinks it'll start helping his business if he can make it to 6 months, which is almost there. If he can make it to a year, which is almost there. What about when he makes it to nine years? Can you imagine things he's going to learn over the next several years? But the difference between Aiden and most people in our industry is, dude, when he says he's going to do something, he follows through. He keeps doing it even when people aren't even watching. Use the mic. But what's the most amount of views you got on a video so far? I think the most views I've got is probably like just over a thousand to 2,000. So, I mean, that's that's really a lot, but for social media, that's a lot. It's a good start though, right? It's it's a great start, dude. Most people are scared of the camera still, bro. Like, you're doing it, right? You're doing it. He's doing it. Let's see if we can't get him more than one or two, thousand views. Who thinks we can get Aiden more than one or two,000 views? I don't know. What do you think? Who thinks? Who? Okay. So, what type of insurance do you sell? I sell expense life insurance. Okay. Have you figured out a really good hook for final expense yet? And would you rather us do a video to consumers or to agents so you can get more people on your team? Agents. Okay, cool. Who else is recruiting and would love have people on your team as well? Okay. Okay, good. So, let's think about Aiden. Okay. You're in West Virginia or Virginia. Not West, but east. No, wait. No, just Virginia. Okay. Virginia. What part of Virginia? Winchester, Northern Virginia, like right very point. Okay. And what do you typically sell on average per month? Per month? Anywhere from 15 to 25. 15 to 25,000. I think that's pretty good, too. By the way, who does not consistently sell 15 to 25,000 every single month, but you would like to? Okay, good. I know somebody that can teach you how to do it. Would you agree? Right. So, let's turn around, put our backs to the audience. We're going to shoot a video. Can we just Can you humor us as Aiden and I just hang out for a quick second? We may have you give some energy at the end of the video. Could you do that for me? Okay, good. Okay, cool. So, let's think about this. Um, let me see how I'm going to have Aiden participate in the video. Okay. Um, I will say, Aiden, how much are you writing? Then you'll say 15 to $25,000 every single month. Should I be more exact? Uh, what would be more exact? Good idea, by the way. 20,000. Perfect. 20,000. But you can't stop. You can't keep doing 15, 16, 17, 18, 19. If you want to say you're doing 20, right? Okay. Does that stop now? No. That just holds me accountable. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, good. Who else is like, I need to be held more accountable along the way. Okay, good. Okay, so I'm going to come to you. You're going to say 20,000. 20,000. Okay, I'm going to say that's it. That's it. Can I Can we Should we keep it simple or should we give them a bunch of scripts? Just kidding. All right. Uh, let's get both Let's get both of us. Come a little closer. Right here. Right here. Right here. Let's get close. You can We can smell each other. That's perfect. That's perfect. You smell good. You smell good, bro. You smell real good. Yeah. Only you guys could smell Aiden right now, man. Oh my gosh. Okay. If you're a new insurance agent and you are not writing at least $20,000 every single month, my buddy Aiden can teach you how. How much do you write every single month? 20,000. $20,000. What would that do for your life? If Aiden taught you the steps exactly how he is writing $20,000 every single month, what would it do for you if you learned how to write [Applause] $20,000 every single month? Now, if you would like to hit $20,000, then direct message this Instagram profile right now. Send the message 20K and we will get you there. Good job. Good job. Thank you. Thank you. Good work. Good work. Also, I I got to here uh text yourself that video before you jump off stage. Okay. All right. Cool. Give it up for Aiden, by the way. How good was that, man? Well done. Well done.

Now, is social media as hard as we are making it out to be? No. No. Why do we love to over complicate stuff? Why do we love to over complicate stuff? Fear an excuse. What else? Procrastination. Procrastination. Overthinking. Overthinking. Who does that a little bit every now and then, right? Guilty as charged, right? And and and why does that happen? Boom. You got it. Uh can you check and make sure it's sent? Let's see. Let's see. Might still be sending. Either way, I can make sure you get it this week. Oh, it's still it is still sending. is going, bro. Dude, we look good, by the way. Give it up for Aiden, man. Give it up for Aiden. Aore B A R T O N on IG Martin. And we just started long form on YouTube. So, let's go, bro. Yes. Good work, man. Good work. Thank you. Aiden Barton on Instagram. I'm also going to shoot this to my team. I'm going to show you what we do with social media videos. I'm going to send this to my team in a Slack channel called social video content. Dylan's here, so we'll have to have Keith edit it. And then we are going to post it on my social. I if we want to do it in the next 30 or 40 minutes, they really could. And then they're going to tag Aiden. We'll collaborate. Would you accept a collaboration while we hang out and do that together? Okay. Who thinks we'll get more than one or two,000 views? But I would hope so, right? Okay. All right. Let's continue.

So, here's why I share this though. Is Kina and Vernon here? In the back. They're in the back. What are you guys doing in the back? Kina, get up here for a quick second. Give it up for Kina. All right. Hey, you worked on the insurance rap song, right? You're good. Okay. Dude, she was spitting some game at our communication blueprint workshop yesterday with Roger and I. Oh my gosh, man. She was amazing. Also, they've got a uh their baby Journey who is almost one. Journey was conceived at 8% which is incredible. Congratulations to them. Congratulations to them. How are you? Good. How you doing? I am great. I love these two. Kina and Verie. Haven't got to know them. They're incredible. Awesome people. Um, Kina, you were in my office uh about a year ago and I asked you the question of, "Have you ever posted a video to YouTube?" And you said, "What?" No. And then I also said, "Well, have you ever recorded videos?" And you said, "I have a ton in my phone." Did I have a ton in my phone, but I've never posted it. And then what happened after that? Uh, he said, "Let me see." So he was watching a video and like we're talking in conversation and then I he gave me a phone back and I went back to my computer. So I typed on my computer and I started getting this notification about a post I just made. I was like I didn't post anything and I looked and it's like two of my friends are like I didn't know you did Medicare. I mean can you help me with my parents? How does this work? So I was like uh I think I got to send you to a skull appointment and sent a scal appointment and I got my first like your next video. Come closer. Let's go. Let's go. Amazing. Amazing. Oh my gosh, man. Like, and guess what? There were video also. Give Katina a hand one more time. A big hand. Big hand. Guess what? The videos were in her phone. She already recorded them. Who else has recorded videos before, but you didn't post them? Oh, how painful is that when you hear that she just made like $1,000? And you could too, while you're still here, by the way. Right. Guess what? I never judge if a video is going to do incredible or not. Dylan, how often do we shoot videos and we're like, "This is the one and then it does terrible or this one is not going to do very good and then it does amazing." You don't. Right now, you don't even know what's going to do good and not do good. Would you agree? So, stop trying to act like you're this social media savant and you know what people are going to watch because you don't know yet. Truthfully, I still get surprised all the time. What does that say? Put out videos and learn what works. The market will tell you. That's how social media works. When videos don't get views, it's my fault. Dylan's too. No, I'm just kidding. But definitely my fault. When videos do great. Dylan's fault because it did good. Okay. Hook, story, offer. Is that helpful? [Applause] [Music] [Music]
