A little boy told a lie, causing his nose to grow long and thin, extending like a stick. Within a minute, luckily, his sister opened the window, letting a woodpecker fly in to peck at his nose, restoring it to normal.
Just a day earlier, the boy had been a round piece of wood, discovered by an old carpenter, who carved him into a human shape. To the carpenter's surprise, the puppet came to life and called him dad.
Overjoyed, the carpenter made clothes for his new son and showed him his reflection. However, when teaching the puppet to walk, the boy suddenly ran outside, outpacing the old carpenter.
After being chased by a dog, the puppet returned home, started a fire, and fell asleep. When the carpenter knocked on the door, the puppet woke up, only to find his feet had been consumed by the flames.
