If your goal is to dominate your fantasy football draft and actually win your league, you're in the right place because today we are breaking down the perfect strategy that'll make your friends jealous in 2026 fantasy football.
Now, before we get into round one and round two strategy, the rounds that you can't afford to mess up, I have a tip for you before your draft even begins. Make sure to fill your queue with the players that you actually want to draft. It only takes a handful of minutes, but it avoids the situation where you're making a panic pick on the clock because a guy you wanted got picked right before you, and now you're scrambling and the time's ticking, and you take a guy you don't like.
Now, for rounds one and two, I'm going to go through this the entire time and I'm going to actually do a mock draft right here. I ended up getting the number one pick in this draft. Arguably, I would say the top four picks are the best picks in drafts this year. I like the two-3 turn. I like the four five turn as well in the later rounds. So, right now, I'm the number one pick here. Really, it's the perfect place to be. You have your pick of the litter for me. I'm going to pull up my fantasy football tiers. You can get these in the fantasy blueprint over at jointhebloopprint.com. There are limited spots available. It's basically I have a tier up here right now of Bejian Robinson, Jir Gab, McAffrey, Jonathan Taylor. If you wanted to take any of those guys at number one, I wouldn't say you're crazy. I wouldn't do that though. I wouldn't take Jonathan Taylor number one. Bejan and Jamir Gibbs are basically neck andneck in my projections. They're backtoback in my rankings. For the purposes of this video, I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to take Bejian Robinson.
Now, what I will say for round one and round two, it is a very simple strategy. Here's what you want to do. Draft for reliability in rounds one and round two. Do not take unproven players. So, I would say guys like Ashton Genty, who still somehow currently goes in round one, he's relatively unproven. decent year as a rookie in terms of total yards, but he has new quarterbacks, a new coach, a shaky offensive line that did get improvements this offseason, but there's still some sketchy pieces there. Like, that is a guy who's unproven compared to the guys that you will usually see go in round one. Like, why are you taking Ashton Genty over a CD Lamb in my opinion, who has a proven quarterback who's still going to throw the ball a ton, who we know is proven over Amar Browns, top five wide receiver each of the last three years. uh at his own uh position as well. Ashen Genty, you're going to have other guys going around him like a Saquon Barkley have ranked ahead, like a James Cook, who I've ranked ahead, even though Genty oftentimes in drafts this year is going ahead of them. You want to draft for reliability. You cannot afford to mess up round one and round two of your fantasy draft. If you do, there's no way you're catching up to guys who actually nail those rounds in your league.
So, I took Bejian Robinson, a running back, to start my draft. Now, I'll always be asked, S, what do I do with my first pick? Running back or wide receiver? My first two picks, do I go back toback running backs? Backto back wide receivers, what should I do? And I would just say take the best available player. Now you can make a conscious decision. Do you want to do the hero RB strategy? You draft one running back with your first or second round pick. So one total and then you don't take one until like round six, seven or eight. You load up on maybe an elite quarterback. You load up on the wide receiver position. That's up to you based on the way that the draft board falls should dictate your strategy. In my opinion, the draft board for me as a number one overall pick. Uh the best players there are Jir Gibbs or Bejian Robinson. Pick who you decide between those two stud running backs. So, for me, I'm right now going to be looking to do Hero RB. It's going to depend how the draft board falls, but ideally with my second round pick and my third round pick, because I'm going to get backtoback picks as the number one overall pick, I could load up on two wide receiver positions. If I wanted to, I have the option to take an elite quarterback. If I wanted to, I have the option to take an elite tight end in terms of like a Trey McBride or a Brock Bowers. My strategy from doing a lot of drafts so far this summer, whether it's mock drafts or paid best drafts where people are actually putting money in so they're incentivized to actually draft a lot better than baseball drafts or then mock drafts. My strategy has always been to try and get that stud running back in round one, whether it's Bejian Gibbs, McAffrey, Jonathan Taylor, heck, if you have a late pick and you take a Saquon Barkley and then you get another guy right after that and then load up on some wide receivers. But it's always how the draft board falls. If the wide receiver value soaks up based on your tiers and rankings, go right back to running back.
So now I'm on the clock back in round two and I'm going to have a round two and round two uh round two and round three backto back picks here. And you can see there's some solid running backs. Kenneth Walker at the end of round two is very good. So is Chase Brown. AJ Brown falls to me here though. Devonte Smith falls to me here. Rashi Rice falls to me here. So as as tempted I am to get two running backs in my first three picks because Kenneth Walker getting him with the first pick in the third round is a steal. The best available player right now for me pretty easily and this is why you should always be drafting with tiers in my opinion. AJ Brown. He's a tier three wide receiver for me. my wide receiver seven. Might even move up to my wide receiver six as the season gets closer. We'll see based on some offseason uh news and reports on how camp is going. Romeo Dobs, all that type of stuff. Um but I don't even have any tier two running backs left. My next running back is my running back 11 and 12 in Chase Brown and Kenneth Walker who are still on the board, but AJ Brown is the slam dunk pick for me here. Now, I will say and I'm going to take AJ Brown here and I think this is a great start to fantasy lineups. Bejian Robinson, AJ Brown, two guys who you wouldn't be shocked if they both finished number one overall at their position this year. Obviously, a little less likely for AJ Brown, but it's still in his range of outcomes.
Now, with my third round pick, and this is the range, and here's the tip for you. Start looking at elite mobile quarterbacks, but most likely you want to target another running back or wide receiver in this range. Now, typically in past seasons, this is the perfect spot to get a Lamar Jackson, a Josh Allen. But this season, those guys are going later in drafts. And it's to our benefit, like right now, Josh Allen is like the only guy who goes in the third round, sometimes sneaks into the second round if somebody wants to reach on him. On average, he's going 29th overall as his ADP. But it depends on the site, of course. But then you could see Drake May is going 20 picks later. Jaylen Herz is going almost 30 picks later. Lamar Jackson's going 30 picks later. Jaden Daniels is going 33 picks later. Like I can just get all of these guys in fantasy drafts right now two to three rounds later. Josh Allen's obviously great. Odds are he's finishing as a top five, if not top three, or once again for the fourth straight year, a top two quarterback. There's nothing against him. But when you compare Josh Allen to the second and third round wide receivers and running backs, it's it's a clear and obvious difference than getting a Jaden Daniels in the sixth round compared to the running backs and wide receivers that are there then.
So now I'm here with my first pick in the third round. And honestly, I was completely planning on taking a wide receiver, but Chase Brown and Kenneth Walker have both fallen to the first pick of the third round, which can very likely happen in your drafts. These guys go in the middle to late of the second round. Like Damonte Smith is here. He's great. Rashi Rice is here. He's really good. He's kind of the guy that I want to take in this range for another player who has top 10 overall upside in my opinion. But it's really hard to ignore what we have here in Chase Brown and Kenneth Walker. If you look at my best available players, they are definitely my best available players overall. And at the running back position, they go back to back. Chase Brown's number 11. Kenneth Walker is number 12 overall. They're in the exact same tier. Whichever one you wanted to take in either order, I'm going to end up going out right now. And I'm going to take Chase Brown here. He's my best available player. So in my first three picks, we basically loaded up on our running backs, Bejan Robinson, Chase Brown. We got our number one wide receiver in AJ Brown. And I think I'm at the point now where I don't have to take another running back for a long time. I can now load up these next three or four rounds on wide receivers. Probably get a quarterback maybe during that stretch. Maybe even a tight end. Like I'm not really looking at running back until probably unless somebody falls a lot. Probably round seven, eight, nine range.
Now, as we get into round four, your tip here is to just keep loading up on the best available running backs and wide receivers based on your current drafted positions. If you wanted to take a quarterback, if Lamar Jackson is there in the late fourth round, mid-4th round, I think it's a decent idea. This is also the range where you could take Coloulston Lovelin. He's a tight end, a borderline elite tight end who goes in this range. He's not really for me usually at this part in drafts, but he's there and he's a fine pick if you wanted to go tight end.
So, I'm now back on the clock in round four and a lot of interesting things just happened. First off, I'm kind of happy I took a running back. There was just a run on running backs. Travis ET and Javvante Williams. Cam Scatter all go. Josh Jacobs went. Josh Jacobs and Cam Scaboo were the guys I was hoping to get with my fourth or fifth turn pick. they ended up going. So, it's really good now based on how this draft has played out that I got Chase Brown and went a running back with my third pick. Now, for my next two picks, I'm pretty easily looking to load up on wide receiver here. Jaden Daniels did go in the fourth round or in the Yeah, in the fourth round, which was a little bit early in my opinion. Um, so let's look at what we currently have on the board. Lat Manunki is still there. Luther Burton's still there. Um, Terry McLaren's still there. All guys that I like. If we pull up my current tiers and rankings, easily the best available guy at the running back and wide receiver position. I'm not taking Lamar. He's already off the board. I'm not going C Colson Lovelin. He's also already off the board. So, I'm going to stick to my strategy. Best available running back or wide receiver right now. That's going to be Lad Mankey. Especially when you factor in that I already have two running backs through three rounds. I'm not taking a running back. So, Lad Mcconn based on the tiers. If you could see in green, these are highlighted for the best available picks per my rankings, right? My rankings versus ADP. The red are guys that are a little bit overvalued based on current ADP. By the way, these are the exact tiers that will be updated all throughout the summer weekly uh four-year drafts and a whole bunch of other tools. my top 250, my wants and avoids, a whole bunch of stuff once you get into the season from draft day to championship week. So, we were just saying how my best available wide receivers in my tiers are L. Manki and Terry McLaren. As of right now, this is a slam dunk for me. It's pretty easy. I have backto back picks here. I love having this number one overall pick when you can. I'm going to take Lad Mankey. I'm going to let it update. I'm going to take Terry McLaren. And boy oh boy, now this specific mock draft only starts two wide receivers and a flex. I feel really good about this lineup. This is a 12 team league. It's half PPR formatted. Two running backs, two wide receivers, a flex, a bunch of bench spots, a quarterback, a tight end. Bejian Robinson, Chase Brown, studs, AJ Brown, Lad Man, and Terry McLaren. My three wide receivers, who by the way, I didn't just take with my first three picks. I took two of them with my fourth and fifth pick. These three wide receivers, rounds four, five, and six are unbelievably loaded. and even round seven a little bit with wide receiver this year. Those three wide receivers are clearly the number ones on their team and you wouldn't be shocked that those three guys all ranked in the top 10 in target share this year. This is the type of lineup you want to be building.
Now in round five, we already took my round five pick, but I always just want to remind people that this is a good part to start to look for the elite quarterbacks. Drake Mays in this range, Jaylen Herz, Jayen Daniels usually falls to this range. Start looking in this range. There's going to be another pocket of quarterbacks from like rounds 9 through 11 and those guys are also solid. But if you want some of those elite names, Jayen Daniels is a great target here. So is Jaylen Hurt.
So now I'm in round six. I have the final pick in round six and there's still some really good players. This is what I'm saying. When wide receivers are just loaded this year from rounds basically three through seven. We're in round six right now. Christian or Christian Watson still the number one wide receiver on his team in my opinion. He's on the board. You're going to have Mike Evans, the boundary red zone receiver for his team. Number one, he's on the board. Same thing for Alec Pierce, although I don't really like him. Um just so many options. DK Mechaf, the number one boundary wide receiver. You can get him probably in like round eight. So many options here. So at this point in my drafts, like Christian Watson, if we pull up right now, my tiers in the fantasy blueprint, my best available players are easily going to be Mike Evans, my wide receiver, 21 as of this recording. Christian Watson, my wide receiver, 29. So it's pretty obvious, right? A bunch of quarterbacks went my top six my top six quarterbacks are off the board. A bunch of tight ends went Tucker Craft, my only top nine tight end left. But if you look at it right here, running backs got soaked up a bunch. Thankfully, we got our first two in the first three rounds. And I will say overall this year running backs are going to go a lot earlier. The last two years running backs have been dominant. There's been like an uncharacteristic stretch of just main top end running backs not getting hurt. Knock on wood that that continues to happen. Odds are it's going to regress and there's probably going to be some first or second round running backs that deal with significant injuries. We hope it doesn't happen, right? But just in a in a sense they're due, right? But as you can see, if I'm like comparing my running backs being Tony Pard, Tuba Hubard, Raandre Stevenson, like aging veteran running backs in backfields that they're not even like the clear-cut RB1. Maybe they are to start the year, but there's some other guys who should push them compared to, I get it, an aging receiver and Mike Evans, but he's a proven veteran. Christian Watson, all the upside in the world. It's still pretty obvious to me that I'm just going to continue to hammer the wide receiver position. So, with my sixth round pick, I'm taking Christian Watson. And then I have backto back picks here. So, with my seventh round pick, I'm going to let it load and I'm taking Mike Evans. If you wanted to take them in a different order, completely fine. So, I'm going to go into my tiers. I'm now going to elite I said elite. Delete Christian Watson and Mike Evans. If you want to use the tiers in the fantasy blueprint. If you want to use uh for example, I'll pull up the top 250 rankings. It it combines all positions. Maybe a little bit easier to identify the biggest values across positions. Although it doesn't really matter if you already have a quarterback. You don't really care about the quarterback values that are left over in the middle rounds, right? But anyways, whichever tool you want to use, it's going to help you dominate for your draft.
Now, this is a very important tip, especially based on what I just did right here. You don't have to fill your starting lineup first. Just draft the best available player. So, for example, I literally just drafted my fourth and fifth wide receivers in this league. They're going directly to my bench. I can't start all five of these wide receivers. I completely understand that. But am I really going to take a tight end here one to two rounds early in Tucker Craft who's coming off of a torn ACL because I just want to fill my tight end spot. Am I literally going to take in the sixth round of the draft? Like one of the worst pockets is the sixth and seventh round of drafts this year for a quarterback assuming Jaden Daniels is gone. Like you're starting to decide between guys like Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence. There's just no difference between those guys in my opinion and the guys who literally go in like round nine, 10 and 11 like Kyler Murray, Brock Pury, Jackson Dart. So I'm not going to just force a bad quarterback or tight end. I'm not going to force a bad running back like a Raandre Stevenson when legitimate number one options for their teams in my opinion in Christian Watson and probable number one options at least on the outside and in the red zone for their team and Mike Evans are on the board. And now you might be saying you can't start all these guys. I understand that players get injured. Trades are a thing in fantasy football, of course. And maybe some players bust. So, what if in my lineup, right, in my starting lineup, Vlad Mcconi is just a complete bust. It looks like uh Quinton Johnson and the run game are going to take over there for the Chargers. Well, I'll put in Christian Watson. Maybe Christian Watson's the bust. Well, then I'm happy I took Mike Evans and Terry McLaren, right? So, I'm just trying to draft the best available players. Now, obviously, there's a point where you're not going to just draft the best available players if you already have two quarterbacks or you have eight wide receivers and two running backs, right? But we're in this nice sweet spot of the draft where I can get five wide receivers through seven rounds and still feel good about my team.
Now, as we approach rounds seven through nine, the tip here for me is you want to start leaning running backs over wide receivers because the running backs are going to soak up after round nine. There's really going to be no guys left when there still are some talented wide receivers in round nine or later. And based on the team that we're drafting, we're kind of f following this strategy perfectly. Like if we're going to start to lean running backs over wide receivers in my next two to three rounds, right, it's a general rule of thumb, but for the most part, we only have two running backs. we have five five wide receivers. It's the perfect time to do so. Now, I will also say round seven and eight, in my opinion, is not the place to be taking a quarterback. Once you start to get to the end of round eight into round nine and 10, that's where I want to take a quarterback. So, with my next turn pick, my seventh and eighth picks, I'm probably not taking a quarterback here, but I'm definitely going to be looking at my at my eighth round pick and probably more more likely my ninth round pick for a Kyler Murray for a Brock party type player.
All right, so now I'm back on the clock in round seven. Brock Pery did go in round seven. So that's like an a round earlier sometimes like a round and a half earlier than his ADP. So I have to keep that in mind. But like I'm I just I'm not interested in Justin Herbert. I'm not interested in Trevor Lawrence. Are they good options? Do I think they have a lot of upside? Especially Trevor Lawrence based on what he did the second half of last year. Yes, of course. But when you're telling me typically 30 picks later, Kyler Murray or Patrick Mahomes goes, right? We haven't me mentioned Mahomes yet, but he's kind of in that Brock party later round quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Same type of thing. I'm gonna be trying to get Kyler Murray and Patrick Mahomes probably with my eighth and ninth round picks somewhere around there. One of those guys. So, I'm just going to go right back. Let's see what the tight end position is looking like. We still need one. Tucker Craft still available. Now, that's a very interesting guy. Right after that, it's Dalton Concaid. It's Mark Andrews. It's Isaiah likely. It's late round guys. I'm pretty interested in Tucker Craft. I'm not going to lie. Let's see what happens if I pull up across all positions. Raandre at running back. I'm interested in running backs. I have my five wide receivers. Josh Downs is a still good wide receiver. He's available. Jonathan Brooks, I'm not really on, but he's fine in this late of a round. Um, ideally, I would like to get him like round nine or 10. Blake Cororms here. I think the way that the board is falling, if we pull up my tiers, there's a pretty obvious best available running back for me. He's a top 30 running back right now. It's Raandre Stevenson on a Super Bowl team from last year where he was the lead back for the far majority of the season, including in the playoffs for the Patriots in Reandre. And I think they're only going to want to continue to run the ball. They should see softer boxes with AJ Brown and Romeo Dobs on the outside. So, Raandre looks like a guy that I want to take, but honestly, I think I'm going to go and take the tight end. Usually I like to go like later round tight ends unless I can get like a Tyler Warner or Kyle Pitts that kind of went early in this draft. But Tucker Craft is a top five tight end for me right now and he's still available here with my seventh and eighth round turn. So I'm just going to go fill the tight end position. We're going to get Tucker Craft. We have that tight end position filled. We probably don't need to take another one if at all if we do like the later rounds of Greg Dolich or Terren Ferguson if we really wanted to. This draft's only 15 rounds so I probably don't even need a backup tight end. And now, if I know that I want I want to get my quarterback in my round nine and 10 turn and get a Kyler or a Patrick Mahomes, heck, maybe even both of those guys, I'm just going to take best available running back or wide receiver, I could use a running back. And we already showed you that Raandre is easily my best available running back. It's either him or Blake Cororm. I'll lean Randre here from week one. I think he's starting when Blake is going to need an injury. So, at this point now, we're through eight rounds in a fantasy draft. Have my tight end, have five wide receivers, and have three running backs. I feel like we're in a good spot. And just a reminder, in those rounds eight and nine, you still want to be leaning running backs over wide receivers because the running backs are about to completely dry up. Again, it's not an extremely hard rule. If a good wide receiver value drops and you still need wide receivers, take them. That's fine. It's not a hard rule, but it's just a general rule to keep in mind. And also in this range, this is exactly where you probably want to start looking for your quarterback if you haven't gotten them yet. Round eight through nine is usually going to have Brock Perie. If he doesn't go early, it's usually going to have a Patrick Mahomes, a Jackson Dart. Probably Kyler Murray still goes in round 10 for you, but in round nine, it's not a reach to take him there. It's a fine pick.
So, now we're here in round 10. I have the 10-11 pick. I think earlier I was saying it was like the the round 910 pick. It's the 10-11 pick. Um, so I got to take a quarterback. Patrick Mahomes just went Kyler Murray is the clear-cut best available left in my rankings. So, I'm just going to go out. I'm going to take Kyler Murray in the 10th round, which means now we have filled our starting lineup. We do have an 11th round pick here. So, we have to be quick with the timer. But, we have Kyler Murray as our starting quarterback. Fine with that. Bejian Robinson and Chase Brown as my starting running backs. My wide receivers are some combination of AJ Brown, Lad Mcconi, Terry McLaren, Christian Watson, Mike Evans. Love that. Backup running back Jamandre Stevenson. Starting tight end is Tucker Craft. To me, this is an all-star team. Not an all-star team, but a team that I feel very good about.
Now, let's make our round 11 pick. I should mention, by the way, this is the perfect point in drafts to not worry about your by-weeks. People will start looking in like round six or round five, like, "Oh my god, two of my players had the same by-week." Stop doing that. It is awful. You're going to have so many weeks until the buys actually matter, like in around 10 and 11 when the mega buys happen or whatever it is later in the season to add players off the waiverss to trade for players to maybe have a breakout player on your bench. Do not ruin your draft and draft worst players because of byweeks. It doesn't matter. I don't even care if my entire team has a week six buy. I don't care. I'm going to draft the best team possible. Now, before we get to round 11, I just want to mention that if you want my free top 50 overall rankings, you're not yet sold on joining the blueprint. Uh the top 50 overall rankings are completely free. They're linked down below. You could also go to fantasyrankingsfree.com. It will take you to this page on the screen. You just enter your email right here. You click get the top 50 overall rankings. Basically, from that point, it'll take you to this page with a video saying what happens next. It's just going to send you an email with a link to the rankings in a Google sheet that will update live all throughout the offseason. That is the top 50. That will help you for the first four to five rounds of your draft, the rounds that you cannot afford to mess up on. If you want the full top 250 and a whole bunch of other tools, that's in the blueprint. But for right now, the top 50 totally free, fantasy rankingsfree.com. It's also linked down below.
Okay, so we're here in round 11. I'm just going to go to running backs and wide receivers cuz I have my quarterback. I have my tight end. It's just 15 rounds. We're already in round 11. I don't need a backup quarterback or backup tight end most likely. So, if we look at my best available running backs who I have three wide receivers who I have five, so I probably want another wide receiver here or another running back here, but I won't just take one if a wide receiver is better. Jordan Mason, Chris Rodriguez, those are my highest ranked running backs. You can see it gets pretty gross after round eight and nine at the running back position. There's Jakori Koski Merritt, there's Tyron Tracy, there's Isaiah Pacho a tier below. For wide receivers, it's Jordan Addison. It's Quinton Johnson. I would say that these two wide receivers, Jordan Nison, and Clinton Johnson, have way more upside than Jordan Mason and Chris Rodriguez, older plotter backs with not much pass catching upside. And those are my clear best wide receivers available. I'm tempted to just go two more wide receivers and have seven, but that's a bit excessive here. We have to at least get one running back. So, I'm going to probably get a running back and a wide receiver here. I lean Chris Rodriguez over Jordan Mason. They're in the same tier. They're separated by one based on my current lineup construction. I like the mold of a Chris Rodriguez. if something happened to Ba Sha Tutin, maybe he could also be the guy in my opinion um that can go out there and just take a red zone role away from Bsha Tun. Doesn't seem likely based on the usage last year, but it's just a guy here we're trying to get for depth. So, I'll take Chris Rodriguez here with my 11th round pick. We now have four running backs. Rodriguez is my RB4. Fine. If I have to really be starting him for some reason, I probably already lost one of my other guys and I'm screwed at this point.
We're going to now go to my next rounds of 12 and 13. I'm going to be looking at best available running back and wide receiver. And these are the start to the starts to turn into the range of the draft. There we go. S, spit it out. Uh, where you're looking for higher upside players. Now, if a veteran falls and he's a value find, but you want to start to look for those higher upside players, handcuffs who are younger, who have explosiveness, wide receivers who haven't really had a chance in the past, but now will, rookies, that type of thing.
So, now we're on the clock with our 12th and 13th picks, and it's obviously getting pretty bare at this point in drafts. Um, if you really wanted to take two quarterbacks for some reason, if you didn't take an early one, like I took a later one, you could look here. They're not going to be the greatest options. They're not the worst. But in terms of running backs and wide receivers, like not much here. you see some tight ends. Like, let me filter out tight ends because I really only want to be looking at running backs and wide receivers. You could see Jaden Higgins, Keen Mitchell, uh Tyler Algier, Dylan Samson. If I pull up my best available, it's going to clearly be the running back position. So, maybe I should have gone Quinton Johnson in that last round. Um maybe a slight regret if my first regret is in round 11. I'm completely fine with that. Um Tyron Tracy, Katon Mitchell, Brian Robinson. If we go down to my wide receivers, Rasheed Shahid, who they say is going to have a larger role. Jawan Jennings as the Vikings wide receiver three, Jaden Higgins, Jaylen Naylor, right? So maybe I should have gone Quinton Johnson now that I look at this. That's going to be a regret for me. But I'm going to go with the running back position. I'm going to take Katon Mitchell has upside with Mike McDaniel in this Chargers offense. Mike McDaniel pounded the table to go out there and get Katon Mitchell. So now we have five running backs just like that. Like I said, a younger explosive upside type player in these rounds. So we got him. I want to look back at the wide receivers now. And you can see my best available wide receivers, Rasheed Jah, Jaden Higgins, Jawan Jennings, Jaylen Naylor, Jaylen McMillan, and then a bunch of just kind of dusty players. I think Rasheed Jah is a great pick in round 13. I I'm just double checking that he's actually here and on this board right now because yep he is. Here we go. I'm gonna go out there. I'm gonna take Rashid Shahid. He's my best available wide receiver. Um Joan Jennings is also still available. So is Higgins that whole tier for me. But I'm going to take Rasheed Shahed because Rasheed Shahed, all the reports are that he's going to have a larger role this year. They don't have Kenneth Walker. They won't have Zack Charbing maybe the entire fantasy season. They don't have run first offensive coordinator Clint Kubak. So a team that ran the ball a ton last year was naturally going to have to throw more this year. And now they don't have their two star running backs and their offensive coordinator. They're going to throw a lot more. Shahid, they resigned this offseason to a decent contract. I think he's a sleeper in the later rounds. In round 13, I think he's a steal as my wide receiver six in this league. I think he's a great pick for a lot of upside in the later rounds. So, we just did what we said in the later rounds. You want to aim for upside somewhat younger players. Shahed, Katon Mitchell. They have a lot of upside in their roles in these later rounds.
Now, for round 14, I just want to remind you if you don't have to, don't draft a kicker. Like, just wait until the day of your week one lineup starts to pick up a kicker. roster an extra running back or wide receiver, an extra guy who has upside like a Katon Mitchell because if Amari Hampton gets hurt in the preseason, you already have Mitchell on your roster instead of having to go and spend all your waiver priority or your waiver budget on him. The guys are already on your roster. So that's a little tip for you. In this draft, we don't have any kickers. It's even better. But if you did have a kicker, just draft somebody else and then pick up your kicker before week one.
All right, so now we're with my final two picks, my 14th and 15th round pick. They're back to back here. I could take really any position honestly. Like Malik Willis is still available in the 14th round. usually goes somewhere in like the 13th round. So, um I might take Malik Willis. You don't really need to take two quarterbacks. I took my quarterback in round 10. Kyler Murray I do think should be relatively stable this year. But if you wanted to take Malik Willis because he has all the upside in the world as a mobile quarterback, he has the contract to start. There's nobody behind him. If he starts balling out the first month of the season with 20 fantasy points a game, rushing touchdowns, rushing yards, trade him away and get a decent piece, get a decent flex option for yourself. And it kind of fits the strategy I talked about earlier, right? Here's my starting lineup. The later you draft your quarterback one, Kyler Murray for me in this draft uh in round 10, the earlier you draft your quarterback too. Malik Wilson in round 14. Did I have to take another quarterback if this was like my actual seasonl long league? It would have been a 50-50. I took Willis here depending on who was available. Now let's just look at best available running backs and wide receivers. I don't need a backup tight end in my opinion. If we just look now who's the best available on the board this late in drafts at running back, you're going to see Shawn Tucker. You're going to see some upside backups, right? Shawn Tucker, Dylan Samson, Jordan Davis, Ray Davis, Brilan Allen, Kron Allen. At wide receiver, you're going to see some dust balls, right? Jaylen Naylor, Ryan Florenoi, Dre Harris, Isaac Tesla. I do like Adam Mitchell, he's there. Um Travis Hunter went earlier. I just forgot to take him off. Debo, Tank Dell, like not really much here at wide receiver in my opinion. So, I'm going to go running back. Any of the guys in this tier will do between Dylan Samson, Jordan James, Ray Davis. I'm just going to go Samson. Not only is me he's my highest ranked, but I actually like stress testing your rankings here. I actually do like him the most in this range. So, we'll take Dylan Samson. He'll be my final running back, my sixth and final running back. We got ourselves six running backs, six wide receivers. Ended up working out that way in the end, even though we had five wide receivers through the first seven rounds. And there you go. Uh Dylan Samson, I think, offers upside as a pass catcher. Quinton Juncan's coming off of an injury, kind of a battering ram running back, going to face a lot of stack boxes. If he misses time, Dylan Samson steps in as a starting running back. So, this has been the perfect draft strategy round by round that will make your friends jealous this year. Now, if you want to see these seven wide receivers, and maybe one or a few of them were in this video that I genuinely cannot stop drafting. I'm drafting these guys every single time I do a mock or a best draft. Check out this video right here. These are the seven wide receivers I can't stop drafting right.
