I mean, if you want to do it like me, you have to be some kind of fanatic because I'm very, very thorough. Uh, and so I, I literally take years and years to do the research. And, um, I traveled to, well, with, with this book in particular, I traveled to 33 archives, read 500 books and 300 articles, uh, and took notes on all of them. And then I took notes on my notes on my notes on my notes, you know. So that it's a very tedious process if you do it the way I do it. And I don't know, but I want to recommend that to anybody, but I'm just that's how I do it because I'm to be sure that I'm doing it the way I, I want to do it.
Again, if you want to write historical fiction that's more than just costume drama, uh, you have to get back to the primary sources. And you have to actually figure out who these people are. And you have to come up with your own interpretation of what the period means. So you can't just lean on previous historians. And you've got to get it from the inside. That's a lot of work. Yeah.
