[Music] Hi, this is Radical Launch International Ministries and welcome to Radical Christianity. This is Trina, Tina, Jeff. You guys want to get even more excited? Sorry. I'm trying to get you to be impromptu. I'm ready. I'm a good girl. Mhm. Hi, this is Radical. I think your danger number three. I think your danger just shot out towards the camera. [Laughter] Yeah. There goes the one. Yeah. Get that out. Get out of your system. Ready? Yes. Take three. Four.

Hi, this is Radical Christianity. We are super excited. My name is Trina Olsen. I'm Tina Hoover. Jeff Hoover. We've got some really good bleeper clips. You are saving some of them, aren't you? We're getting all gooey gooey. I think I lost my dinner. You got it out of there yet? Water here. Oh, okay. All right, yawn. Number two.

All right, [Music] man. You need to get rid of that. I know. I do. Set. Go.

Hi, this is Radical Christianity. My name is Trina Olsen. Hi, I'm Tina Hoover. I am Jeff Hoover. And we are super excited to share with you about the revelation that we feel like God is doing in Acts one. Like this is just amazing. We want to go through uh the book of Acts and we want to share what God is doing and and through the disciples in Acts because he's using extraordinary people to do extraordinary exploits for him. Like it's not it's not Jesus. It's not God. But it is because when Jesus went to the cross and died for our sins and sicknesses, he came to live inside of us. And so we're about to take part in this journey that is unfolding in front of us as we read the book of Acts. Like, do we realize who lives in us? [Music] Do you realize who lives inside of you? Like I really believe that we have watered down chapter 1 and two and it's the basis of our foundation. Yes. Yeah. So we want to jump into Acts one man. Like and we're not going to be here to read the scripture but we want to we want to jump into this. So, you know, one of the things that I love like just in the first um two parag or two verses, let's go back here.

Hi, this is Radical Christianity and my name is Trina Olsen and we are super excited to Yeah. Come on. All right, God. Maybe we need to pray first. Prayer is always good. Yes. Holy Spirit, we just ask you to come. Get rid of those yawns. Get the yawns out. Wake us up. Fire us up. Set the fire upon us right now in Jesus name. Yeah. Yes. Your little blue light. Is it showing? You can tuck it underneath your shirt. So, a little blue light special. Oh, wait a minute. You got the wrong one. This is the one I've got. Yeah. Can you do it so it's inside your Yeah, that wasn't one. Oh, okay. All right. Well, you can kind of see the blue light. Okay. way to help him. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. So, all right. Time to yarn. No. No. No.

Hi, this is Radical Christianity and we are super excited to share with you about the book of Acts. My name is Trina Olsen. I'm Tina Hoover. And I'm Jeff Hoover. And we are about to embark on an amazing journey to unfold extraordinary people doing extraordinary things for God through Christ. And uh he says in John 17 that he gets glory through us. And that he gave the father glory on earth because he finished what he was called to complete. And this one scripture, I just love it. In John 17:20, Jesus is talking to the disciples and he says that others will come to know him through their messages. Yeah. And he's talking about you. You have messages that are others are going to see Christ in you and through you. So let's dive into the book of Acts and just explore like why Acts 1 and two are really the basis and the foundation of Christianity and following being a follower of Jesus. Like the one thing that I love this is like in the second verse this is so cool. So it says that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up into heaven after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After this suffering he had showed himself to these men and women men. All right. What part of this should we start on? Like I like the part about the him giving instructions through the Holy Spirit. Yes. And just planting seeds. Basically before he gave he ascended into heaven, he gave instructions to the Holy Spirit to his apostles. He's chosen there. You want to start that? That sounds good. And he appeared to them many times. Hold on. You ready? And a period of 40 days. Also, if you're going to emphasize that, emphasize that he was trying to give proof he was still alive. That he was alive, not still alive. All right, let's start this over again. Ready?

Hi, welcome to Radical Christianity. My name is Trina Olson. I'm Tina Hoover. and I'm Jeff Hoover. And we have an amazing journey to take you on today. We're going to take you through the book of Acts um Acts 1 actually. And Acts 1 and two are actually really a foundation of of what we should believe to be a believer of Christ. Yes. And I believe that when you really understand Acts 1 and two, it really opens a door for signs wonders miracles to follow those who believe. and to help you understand that you what your call is in life. So, let's dive into Acts one. This is really good. It really starts here in verse two when he and it's in the first 40-day period after he had resurre his resurrection. He's trying to do many convincing things to show that he is alive. They're still not convinced that he's fully alive. He's like, "What's what's going on here?" So he starts he wants before he ascends into heaven he wants to give instructions to the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen and and actually stop on that instructions through the Holy Spirit. [Music] So think about that instructions through the Holy Spirit spirit you know um it's not through a man Jesus, it's through the Holy Spirit Jesus still Oh that's good. Yeah. And maybe that's because of him coming back from with the spirit of God that that's why he was able to walk through walls. Maybe he's g a little taste and see of what's coming with the Holy Spirit. Yeah. Yeah. Because Jesus knew it's coming. The disciples and the apostles, he told them to go wait. Yeah. Mhm. Did that sound okay? Mhm. All right. Let's do then first. Let's do that again. I'm sorry because I feel like I cut you off. I won't cut you off this time. I'll wait till you're done. Okay. Sure. I don't even know what I said. I don't I don't believe it. I do.

Hi, welcome to Radical Christianity. My name is Trina Olsen. I'm Tina Hoover. And I'm Jeff Hoover. We are super excited because we're about to take you on a journey through Acts one. And do you realize that Acts 1 and two are actually the foundation of what it is called to be a believer of Christ? And it's actually the instructions on what to do um as your believer. Jesus gave these instructions and and I feel like it's it's foundational. Yes. So let's jump into this. So we'll start here in Acts the first um one verse two. This is over a 40-day period. Jesus came and showed himself to these people many times and just basically convincing him he's alive. You know, they just saw him going to the cross and he was resurre in his death, his crucifixion and now he's trying to convince them I'm alive again and he wants to he's just saying you need to come. I have instructions to give you and he's planning on leaving that the Holy Spirit be to them so they can be filled with the Holy Spirit. and he wants to give him instructions to the people he had chosen. And he just it's just a matter of I just Where was I going? [Music] That's all right. I have a bunch of bloopers. You can have one, too. Get your eyes up.

All right. Hi. Welcome to Radical Christianity. My name is Trina Olsen. I'm Tina Hoover. And I'm Jeff Hoover. And we are about to take you on a journey into the book of Acts. Tonight, we're going to share with you about Acts 1. And did you know that Acts 1 and two, I believe, is the foundation of Christianity and it's a foundation of what it looks like to be a believer of Jesus and his instructions on what to do. It's crucial. It is very crucial. Yeah. So, let's jump into Acts one.

All right, we'll start out with verse two here. Jesus, this is right before Jesus ascended into heaven. He left instructions to the Holy Spirit. But before that, he just he appeared to them many times over a 40-day period trying to convince them that he was alive. They had just picture this. He just went to the cross. He was crucified and now he's alive again. But they're like, they're not quite sure. Is this really Jesus? Is he alive? what's going on here? He just wanted to just to display, you know, just not really display himself, but just reveal himself to them because he wanted to reveal many truths about the God's kingdom to them. And he knew that they needed to stay in Jerusalem until this could happen. He said, "Wait until Jerusalem and until you receive the gift I have told you about, the promise that the father had promised to them." And you know, John had baptized him previously in water, but now you're gonna be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Imagine that. Yeah. You know, and and as you were talking about, um Jesus gave them instructions through the Holy Spirit. Like when we give someone instructions, do we tap into the Holy Spirit? Do we tap into the Father and really get in alignment with with what the Father's plan is? And I feel like that's key to what God's trying to show us is when we're in right alignment with him. The Holy Spirit is in the game and someone can receive the revelation from God through us. And you know this one scripture that comes to mind about that is um it it's about the double-edged sword about your mouth being a double-edged sword. Yeah. And in the TPT, we'll get to scripture for you here later, but in the TPT, it says the double mouth. And what they believe is when when we're in alignment with God, his mouth flows through our mouth to reveal the revelation that he has for for us and for other people. Yeah, it's good. Yeah. So, I feel like when we get in alignment with God, you know, and uh and and there's more to come. Come on. Wow. And I love the part down here. Um he and Do you get to eat yet? This is awesome. Oh yes. He says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witness in Jerusalem and in all of Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." And in the in the Passion translation, it says, "You will be seized by power." Man, do you realize that the the baptism of Holy Spirit is so powerful and it and it yes when you accept Jesus you you get a portion of the Holy Spirit but you know if you just pray a prayer and it's all head knowledge how much did you get? You really need to encounter Jesus. Yes. And I feel like this is this is evident like this is important that you he he was so excited about the power that was about to come upon them that they were going to be transformed. And and I know when when I went through um when God cha saved my life from from suicide, he filled the car with the baptism of Holy Spirit that day and it transformed my life and I didn't even recognize the Trina that was on the embankment anymore. Like I in a moment, in an instant, I was transformed in someone I didn't know. So, I believe that they're about to experience this in their lives and this is going to change culture and and we know that it does. But how does it change culture? Yeah. Because they're still in the old mindset when they asked him, "Lord, are are you going to restore the kingdom of Israel?" So, they're still in the old mindset yet. Yeah. They still think he's going to come to earth to restore the king the kingdom and get them out of, you know, they were under Roman rule at that time. says, "When are you going to save us from this, you know, this rule that we're under?" You know, but there's still things they're going to save from that and not just bring God's kingdom to earth. Yeah. And can you imagine um I don't know if how if you ever were at a track meet or or where you where you were in a sport or watching a sport where you had anticipation where you were already um maybe experienced something in the past and you were anticipation of seeing it come to pass in someone else's life. almost like a relay race where you ran the first leg and you're waiting for the fourth one to come across the line and and you have this anticipation and they're neck and neck and and you're so super excited because you know that they're coming in for the win. I really believe like Jesus he came back and he was trying to convince him for 40 days that he was alive. I think I think that's awesome, you know, because without the holy the baptism holy spirit, I think their their mind is trying to understand this, but their spirit doesn't understand it. You know, they haven't been fully awakened yet by the baptism holy spirit. But also, he had such an anticipation because he had went to the cross and and he died for all of them. He died for all of us. And he fulfilled everything he was called to complete. And he was excited because he told them that they would go and do greater. Yes. They can't do it without the baptism of Holy Spirit. They can't do it without Christ coming inside of them. And we're about to see how this all plays out. Oh, this is so But that can just just think about the anticipation that Jesus had as he's walking around and he's so excited because the day is about to come when they're going to walk the walk that he walked. Yes. And so many times we keep feeling like people tell us, "Well, it's not about miracles and and you're not Jesus." But do you know that Jesus said you can do greater? So yeah, you're not Jesus because he did something that we can't do. But it really sounds like we're about to do something that he couldn't do either. And we have to do it together. We do it with him. Yes. And you know, and what if when we get down here to um you know, Jesus Jesus is all about the kingdom of heaven and he continues to help them like He's he keeps telling them that his kingdom is not of this world and and he's telling them about this baptism of the Holy Spirit and he has this excitement and anticipation and they're worried about the kingdom of Israel. Wow. But let's plant a seed. So Jesus was about the kingdom of of heaven coming to earth. Right. Right. Yes. And so when we get down here to the these scriptures here that says that all of a sudden he has taken taken up before their very eyes in Acts 1:9 and the cloud hid him from their sight. Does that does that ring a bell with anything? Like a cloud? Yeah. Yeah. The Israelites. Yeah. Exodus 13:21. Yes. Yes. Yeah, man. Let's let's check this out. So, you know, this might boggle some minds. It said God went ahead of them and guided them during the day in a cloud shaped like a pillar and at night he appeared to them in a fire shaped like a pillar to light their way. Wow. So, the Lord went before them in a cloud. So the Lord Jesus went before them in a cloud again. Oh wow, man. Just think about that, you know. And then I just love it. The the the two men dressed in white stood beside them. This had to be like angels. Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? The same Jesus who was taken from you into heaven. So the cloud was in the heaven will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. So the same way he left, he's going to come back. And I know so many people are waiting for that moment for him to come back. But we're about to see something transpire here. Just think about that. You know what does that look like when Jesus comes back? Yeah, let's move on. I love cliffhers. Yes, you have to check out Acts two and we'll tell you the rest of the story.

So, Peter is the one who stands up first. Why does Peter stand up first? What is about Peter? you know, in in uh down through 12 through 20, you know, he it's Peter that that stands up and says, "Hey, we should actually go and replace Judas." And Peter was with the other disciples and they were all breathed on in John 20 by Jesus. And Jesus said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." And then about seven of them went out on the boat to go fishing the the next day and and they let Peter led them. Peter was the one that said, "Let's go. I'm going to go fishing." They all jumped in the boat with him and went fishing and they can't didn't catch anything and and I believe they went back to know doing what they knew best. Yeah. They knew how to fish. They're like, "What do we do now?" Yeah. And and so what if you go back to what you knew? You know, you might not know what to do next, but just go back to what you knew and and trust that God's going to show up in the midst of that. And as you go back to what you know, go heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, and set liberty to the captives. And then watch God change your direction. Because did you know that um a lot of times, especially like on a on a boat, you can't maneuver and turn unless you're moving? Like on on a speedboat, you got to be moving to turn. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And like a jet ski for sure, man. You can't move that jet ski unless you turn or unless you're moving, you can't turn it. Yes. So, so in John 21, they see Jesus on the shore. Peter puts on his outer garment. So, he had taken off Christ because he denied him three times. And that word actually goes back to um the Greek root word um a wedding bank, a wedding garment. So wedding garment and outer garment are both both interchangeable and used for at the same time. And um so Peter puts on the thing that Matthew 22 that person doesn't have on which that person is thrown out into darkness and nashing of teeth. That's a bad day. So Peter puts it on. He jumps into the water and he and Jesus says, "Hey, bring some of your fish." Well, Peter's zealous, you know, and do you know the mantle of zeal is put on the person in Isaiah 59 where it says ge that God looked for one found none. He to inter intercede to intervene and he sent his own right hands and he put the helmet of salvation the breastplate of righteousness and the mantle of zeal on the person and that's Jesus. So Peter did did something start to rise up inside of him that he jumps into the water he carries the net doesn't lose not one of those fish and the other seven couldn't even pull it into the boat. There were so many fish in that net they couldn't all pull it in. Peter carries that net. Was it prophetic to what he was going to do the rest of his life? He was going to not lose any fish which are people. And he wasn't going to tear the net that he was going to carry it with and he had a faith and a strength that the other ones didn't have it yet. Okay. So, was it a preempt preemptive um of what was to come? And was that why Peter stood up to take charge? Makes you Yeah. Yeah. So we got like two minutes yet. So you want to share? You want to share any more about in the two? We'll cut it here. And uh so as as Peter stands up and he says, "Hey, let's take um let's take this time to actually choose another um apostle to replace Judas." And and I just love it that they they chose people who were they were looking for people who were already in the group. They were looking for people who saw like walked with Jesus or were around at that time and who were there during the the the crucifixion and the resurrection. Yes. So when we look for leaders, are we looking for leaders who are like-minded or are we bringing people from different locations that we don't know? These were people they knew and they were looking for like-minded people that were on fire who wanted to um follow Jesus. And then when they picked two of those people, then they prayed and they they casted lots. They prayed to God and then they casted lots and it fell on Mias was the one that was added to the 11. You know, in all this, are we looking to God to choose our leaders? And are we looking for the characteristics and the quality of people who are truly filled with the Holy Spirit, who are have integrity, honor, and and respect, who really put God first. Yeah. So cut it there. Yeah.

So thank you for joining Radical on. Thank you for joining Radical Christianity. We are super excited for Acts two. So get ready because Acts two is coming soon. God bless you all. Good night. Good night. Good night. 15 minutes. I was trying not to cough there. Got a tickle in my throat.
