Citizen's Income 2025. This topic is probably more current than ever, as there are some serious changes that can affect you directly. If you're wondering what's really new with Citizen's Income 2025, how to avoid sanctions, and how to get the most out of your claims, then you've come to the right place. I want to explain to you as simply as possible, without a lot of legal jargon, what applies to Citizen's Income 2025, what the new rules look like, and what you absolutely should pay attention to, so that you don't experience any nasty surprises. Let's start with the most important thing. The standard rates for Citizen's Income 2025 will remain at the 2024 level. This means, despite rising prices and inflation, as a single person you will continue to receive €563. As a partner in a community of need, €506. As a young adult under 25, €451. Teenagers will receive €471. Children between 6 and 13 years old €390, and the youngest up to 5 years old €357. For many, this is of course a real shock, because the cost of living is rising on the one hand, but the Citizen's Income remains the same. This is one of the biggest changes to Citizen's Income 2025 and affects everyone who relies on this support. This is, so to speak, the zero round. So, and now comes the part that can really hurt. Sanctions for Citizen's Income 2025 will be significantly tightened. If you miss an appointment at the job center or reject a reasonable job offer, your Citizen's Income can be reduced by 30% for up to 3 months. This is a significant difference from the previous rules and can become very expensive for many. Importantly, however, the minimum subsistence level remains legally protected, of course, but the cuts will still hit hard. Therefore, my tip: absolutely keep your appointments at the job center and carefully check every job offer. Another big topic for Citizen's Income 2025 is the grace period for protected assets. This has now been shortened to only 6 months, and that means your savings are only protected for half a year. After that, anything above the new allowances will be taken into account. For the first person in the community of need, this is €40,000. For each additional person, €15,000. After the grace period, only an allowance of €15,000 per person applies to everyone. You should definitely keep this in mind if you have reserves or plan to build them up. At this point, one might perhaps consider whether to invest the savings accordingly. Um, I'm not advising to buy stocks, but there are possibly opportunities where these protected assets cannot be touched. From 2025, there will be a monthly reporting obligation to the job center. This means you must appear in person at least once a month. Those who do not do this risk an immediate reduction in benefits. Furthermore, the reasonableness rule has been tightened. Up to 3 hours of commuting time per day are now considered reasonable if you work more than 6 hours daily. This primarily affects everyone who is looking for a job or wants to start a new position. For additional earnings, there are also new limits in 2025. The mini-job limit is now €556 per month. The first €100 are, as before, of course, not counted. After that, tiered allowances apply. This means that those who work on the side can keep more than before, but only if the rules are followed. For pupils and students and holiday jobs and so on, there are still special regulations. Good news for everyone who wants to further their education. The further education allowance of €150 per month will be retained. However, the Citizen's Income bonus has been abolished. So, those who undertake retraining or further education will continue to receive support, but no longer the additional bonus. Citizen's Income 2025 brings many important changes. No increase in standard rates, harsher sanctions, shortened grace period, stricter reporting obligations, and new additional earning limits.
