Hey friends, Joel back with another super cool astrology video. Let's talk about men with their Sun coming through the lens of Aquarius. So, the Sun is the part of the chart that represents the identity and where we're looking for validation, approval, and represents a lot of self-esteem. Where we're looking for self-esteem, where we want to enhance that, where we want to be seen and appreciated for being something or another. It also describes our vitality and our creative personal expression.
So, when we have a man with his Sun coming through the lens of Aquarius, there is something dissenting or agitating about him. We often describe this identity as being aloof, and this is correct, but often this is really coming from the essential quality of being contrary. So, what is it to be contrary? It's very much to be in automatic opposition to whatever is. There's an extremely enlightened way of conducting oneself with this particular Sun sign, but there's also the danger of adopting an identity of rebellion just to repel.
These types of men are self-starters and don't do something or someone unless they deem it or them worthy of their attention. They take very little direction from the outside or require very little direction from the outside. And boys, if you're trying to raise a boy with the Sun in Aquarius, it can be frustrating because they are, they're not easy to turn into followers. So, it can often be best to practice reverse psychology with these types of boys and men because they are so prone to identifying as someone who's constantly finding liberation from oppressive structures, identifying as someone who rebels from oppressive structures.
Parents, so if you want them to participate in something structured, such as chores or responsibilities, expectations, then you need to put them to put it to them like you could care less if they do it or they don't do it. And the same is very much with dating. You don't want to obsess over a man with this particular Sun sign. It's not going to help you.
Now, aspects make all the difference. We could have a dude with his Sun in Aquarius and also has Venus or Moon in hard aspect to Pluto and maybe a concentration of eighth house planets and there as well. So, they can identify one way, but on the other hand, have a style of social and romantic interaction that's very different. That's a very Scorpionic, a very attachment-prone. So, this accounts for the contradictions that make up most human beings. And that's why we look at everything when we're analyzing a chart. We consider all the sides of someone.
And so, a more logical rather than passionate or reactive approach comes with having the Sun shining through the lens of Aquarius. There is a need to be appreciated for seeing the totality of something, for understanding more dispassionately the mechanic, what is making up the apparent whole or outcome. So, this can result in a more otamatone type of behavior, and that can then be perceived as aloof. So, these men can be fixed. These men can be frustrating because they could be very difficult to manipulate if you are so inclined to do that. They're actually happy to allow others to view them however they're gonna view them. And so, you don't really have a lot of power over somebody who's like that, who doesn't have any investment in what you think of them. They're not going to play your games.
So, if you view them as cold or on participatory or as an outsider, well, that's actually okay with them because they already identify as the outsiders. So, where someone, for you know, for example, with their Sun in Capricorn is going to tightly be predisposed to wanting to control what others see or what they can think about them, what, what image someone takes away with them, Aquarius Sun is just fine with you not viewing them as agreeable or as capable or even allowing you to spread tales about how, you know, he just would not give in or go along. He feels more like himself when he's resisting structured life, remember? So, that's part of what he's happy to be known as.
So, this type of identity requires a long leash. And if you can stand to not have one on him at all, then he will probably be right by your side. If you can offer him a life where he can free-range, where he can have his disdain for structure and discipline and still have a relationship with you, then he will not have any problem feeling like he's where he should be. If the relationship can fit his idea of himself. And this actually goes for everybody. If the relationship fits our idea of ourselves, and in this case, as abstract and inconstant and even, you know, outside the norm, then it may be what he's looking for.
So, the Sun coming through Aquarius has an effect on personal ambition as well. The Sun is really representative of a good chunk of our goals and our vitality, our physical vitality, and what, you know, we want again to be seen as. And generally, men with this Sun sign are less concerned with impressing others or society. They see through a lot of what the rest of us are so over-concerned about. And so, this comes across often as uncooperative and as out of step because, well, frankly, it is. And that's where the genius of it really concerned. I'm sorry, somebody just turned my lights off. They actually turned on from the outside of the room. So, I think, I think I'm done for the day. So, we'll just go with it.
So, they don't generally value being seen as, you know, traditionally successful. And so, they're not going to strive for the common goals of, you know, being at the top or owning all the toys or all the stocks or needing to prove that they can do it. You know, this is not Mars or Capricorn Sun. They're generally more about being appreciated for being someone who doesn't buy into what everyone else is clamoring for. And that's, that's how they prove themselves. Sorry, I was choked myself. I was attractive. That's how they prove themselves by being different. If they come from a society that values material success, then this is not what they are going to be about.
For example, say, you know, I'm gonna think of an example, Aquarius Sun dude example. Yeah, say there's a dude like in the 17th century with the Sun in Aquarius who lives on Bora Bora, my dream destination. I really, really, really want to go to Bora Bora. So, he lives on Bora Bora and the culture at the time values say, partying, relaxing, stuffing yourself with tropical fruits and steamed crabs and lobsters, and enjoying the company of beautiful women who are comfortable with their own sensuality. Well, because it comes from this type of society, this dude with his Sun in Aquarius would be all off on his own, like tinkering with some pieces of rocks and shells and coming up with a way to track the motion of the waves so he could better calculate the best hour to cast his net to bring in the most fish. So, his identity and behavior, because we're dealing with an iconoclastic, a contrary kind of energy with Aquarius, that behavior and that identity would be bent on being counter to what was currently occurring in the culture at the time. So, it doesn't really matter what the current society is about, he is going to be about something else. And there's the genius to it. There's, there's where you, you cause the current culture to stretch and bring something new into it.
So, Aquarius man does not value, in this current world culture, slaving away for the man so he can collect more stuff. He's more idea-driven and more, more about spontaneity and what, what is the alternative to what is the norm. So, we can have somebody who has some very traditional qualities to them with the Sun coming through Aquarius. We can have a lot of Saturn and things. Just having the Sun in Aquarius and Aquarius is not going to turn you into an organic produce-growing hippie who invents things on the side. You have to look at the totality of everything, but it is something that's going to contribute to that more open, progressive way about somebody.
So, this is a very discerning personality as well, meaning that he doesn't accept things or people at face value. We ask questions with Aquarius Sun. So, this is an identity that very much enjoys needling others out of their own comfort zone. So, this may not be done directly, but it is done through their general behavior and the way that they desire the world to view them and the legacy with which they wish to leave and the goals that they choose to pursue.
