I know there is pressure for beds. You have money pressure in India and many of you discharge early.

But if you have worked so hard for a few weeks in the NICU and you send the baby before they're fully ready, you are going to end up in a catastrophe. So, a baby who has a choking episode at home or arrests at home, brain injury could happen from that.

I have seen babies coming back from India who have CP, who are perfectly normal when they discharge but had a choking episode at home. And then the baby develops cerebral palsy after that. So, obviously it's a risk to the baby when you discharge too early.

And being aggressive with the palatal feeding when you can tube feed and carefully allow the weight gain of the baby because you're conserving energy. Part of you have depletion of your nutrition support. At the same time you're spending more energy. So, you have to find the balance between how much the baby is spending and how much you're able to give. And you know the suck progression is better in the babies reaching 33, 34 weeks.
