Crypto is about to change forever, and it's happening now. I'm Lily Broady, and this is Crypto Wins of the Week.
Clarity Act heads toward final approval. According to a JP Morgan report, negotiations on the Clarity Act, the major US bill set to regulate crypto, have narrowed down to just two to three unresolved issues. With a Senate staffer describing the draft as very close as they continue ongoing discussions around stablecoin regulations. However, there is still a risk. The final text hasn't been released, and no vote has been scheduled with delays potentially pushing the bill into the midterm elections. The crypto industry is praying this gets pushed through as if passed, the Clarity Act would be a major step toward bringing clear rules for crypto adoption into the US financial system.
S&P 500 hits all-time highs. The S&P 500 keeps hitting all-time highs, and honestly, it's kind of insane. After dropping nearly 10% in March to around 6,300, the index has surged to a new all-time high of over 7,000. And this is all happening despite ongoing conflict in the Middle East and rising oil prices. Markets are pushing higher because investors aren't really worried about what's happening right now. They're convinced that the conflict will blow over, and they're trying to get their position in early.
Rakuten enables XRP payments for 44 million users. XRP is taking over Japan. Rakuten, Japan's largest e-commerce platform, banking app, telecom network, and loyalty program has just added XRP as a payment method. This gives XRP access to over 44 million users. The scale of this is massive, and so is the opportunity for XRP. This is a gigachad win for XRP and the XRP army.
X launches cashtag feature for stocks and crypto. This is huge. X just launched smart cashtags in the US and Canada, bringing real-time data and charts for stocks and crypto directly into the app. This means that X users can now see live charts, prices, and market activity without ever leaving their timeline. I can't even describe how big this is for the crypto industry. X is already home to Crypto Twitter, and now it's turning into a full-blown financial hub, exposing crypto to over 600 million users.
And now it's time for the biggest win of the week.
SEC ends pattern day trader rule. Now, this is big. The SEC has ended the pattern day trader rule, eliminating the 25K required for day trading. Previously, if you just made four trades in five days, you'd be flagged and locked out unless you had 25K in your account. Now, that barrier has been removed. This opens the door for way more smaller traders to enter the market. However, it won't roll out immediately. Brokerages are expected to roll this out between 2026 and 2028, but this is still a massive win for retail.
And that's it for Crypto Wins of the Week. What an insane week. If I missed any wins, let me know in the comments, and if you enjoyed this video, make sure to subscribe to my channel for the latest crypto news and content, and I'll see you absolute legends next week.
