In this video today, I'm going to show you how to upgrade your life God's way. It's going to blow your mind because God is the ultimate upgrader. Uh, God is the one that created everything. Therefore, he has the best ideas. He has the best content. Um, and has the most or the greatest ability to impact our lives for the greater in a great way.
I'm going to read a passage. I'm sure you're familiar with it. I'm sure you're familiar with it. Then we're going to go into who knows what for who knows how long. Let's go.
So today, upgrade your life through content. God's content creation secrets. And I know that sounds, that sounds fascinating. God has content creation secrets. Oh, he does. Here's what it says in John chapter 1, verses 1-14. It says, "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men, and the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. The same came for a witness to bear witness of the light, that all men through him might believe."
And by the way, just so, just so y'all understand, um, like if you're not doing word studies in scripture, you're going to come to erroneous conclusions about what the Bible is saying because you take a word that has three letters like the word "all" in this passage. That "all" it said that, um, in him, um, I lost, I, oh, there it is. In verse seven, "The same was the same came for a witness to bear witness of the light that all men through him might believe." That word "all" in so many passages of scripture does not mean every single solitary like we think it does. We think "all" always means every single solitary one. But it doesn't. "All" often means all types, all kinds, all manner. We know in this passage it can't mean "all" every single solitary because every single solitary man who's ever lived doesn't believe. So the context even tells us about the definition. Are y'all tracking?
Okay. Um, anyway, I, I would chase rabbits, but I'm not going to. I'm just going to keep, I'm going to keep, I'm going to keep it moving. Verse eight. "He that is John was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of that light. That was the true light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." And that, and by the way, it, the light does light every man that cometh into the world. The light shines on every man. But he already told us the light shined in the darkness and the darkness comprehended it not. So just because the light shines on the man doesn't mean the man's willing to receive the light. Because there are people who reject the light. Because men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil. And what they're doing is they're confirming that darkness is light because their deeds are dark and their deeds are evil. We, okay, we, okay, we tracking. Okay.
Um, and then it says, "And he was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not." Man, how tragic is that? "He came unto his own, and his own received him not." Wow, how tragic is that? Then it says this, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed believe on his name." So as many as received him, he gave them power to become the sons of God. What about the people that didn't believe? He didn't give them power to become the sons of God. And then it says, "Which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh." In other words, I did not receive Christ because I desired it so desperately, nor of the will of man. In other words, I, people say, "When I found, um, when I found Jesus," you didn't find Jesus. He wasn't, you weren't looking for him. The scripture says he came to seek and to save that which was lost. You weren't looking for him. He was looking for you. And if you received his light, it's because he gave you the ability to receive his light. So he gave you a gift in the ability to receive the gift of salvation.
So we got so many proud Christians. You know why they're proud? Because they don't understand the game. They think they had something to do with it. Okay, y'all with me? Amen.
"Which were born not of the blood, not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God. And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory, as the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace." Grace means a gift. "And full of truth, full of a."
Well, I'm going to go to my trusty blackboard because, because I got some stuff to share with y'all about creating content because here's what I'm, here's what I discovered. And you're going to say, "What does that have to do with content creation?" Well, you about to find out.
Um, it says, "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. And all things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. And the same was in the beginning with God. And all things were made by him." Him who? Him the word. So the foundational, one of the foundational statements that you really got to wrap your mind around to comprehend God's content creation secrets is this. The contents, C-O-N-T-E-N-T-S, the contents of the existential nature of the world was created by, were created by God's content, the word. Okay, I'm going to say it again. The contents of the existential nature of the world. I'm talking about the dirt, I'm talking about the grass, I'm talking about the flowers, I'm talking about the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees. I'm talking about the fish and the whales and the chimpanzees and the giraffes and the monkeys. I'm talking about the sun and the moon and the stars and the water and the air. I'M TALKING ABOUT ALL OF IT was created by God and his word because there is no distinction, according to this passage, between God and his word.
Which is showing us that God is always true to his word. So God's, you've heard people say this about people. Well, my word is my bond. Do you know where they got that from? That's, that's, that's so biblical because God's word is God's bond because God always keeps his word. And God keeps his word to the degree that the God, he said God said of himself, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" The Lord's arm is not short that it cannot save. Nothing's too hard for God. But God says, "There's one thing I can't do." What can't God do? God can't lie. Not that he won't lie. Not that he doesn't lie. Not that he hasn't lied. Not that he's not going to lie. HE CAN'T DO IT. GOD set it up in such a way that he and his word are one.
Okay. So why is it so important for us to understand that the contents of the existential nature of the world were made by God's content? Why is that so important for us to understand? Well, I'll tell you why it's important for us to understand. Because we are made in the image of God. Let me say that again. We are made in the image of God. And I'm not about to talk to you about speaking things into existence because you can't. And I know a lot of preachers and a lot of gurus are going to disagree with me, but that's their problem, not mine, because I'm going by what God said, and he can't lie. And so the only, by the way, speaking something into existence. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. That's English. In Hebrew, it's "brashit barah." Barah. What's barah? Barah is to speak something into existence. And the only one in the entire Bible who baras anything is God. So if a human could barah, we would barah. But we can't barah. So we don't barah. But too many people think they do barah, but they don't, because God said so.
However, just like the contents of the existential nature of the universe or this entire world that we live in was created by God's content. Oh, don't miss this. The contents, everybody say contents. Contents. The contents of our experiential world are created by our content.
[screaming] Uh, what does that mean? That means the quality of your experience of life is going to be determined by the quality of your words. Maybe that's what King Solomon meant when he said, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
Now, what's really interesting about the contents of, uh, the, the, our word as content is our content doesn't just go out from us. Just like in the beginning was the word and the word was with God. Do you understand our words are always with us? In fact, I submit to you, you talk to you more than you talk to anybody. Have you, have you ever talked to yourself about that before? [laughter] You talk, you talk to yourself more than you talk to anybody. But what's interesting is we do not consciously and cognitively pay attention to the conversations that we have with ourselves most of the time. Most people don't. Most people just have conversations with themselves and they, they think, "Well, that's just me." Well, why is that just you? Because that is the quality of your content. And see, content is your content is both internal, the stuff you say to yourself, and it's external, the stuff you say to other people and the stuff you say to God. Right? That's where your, your content lives inside of you. In fact, everything you do, you do because of your internal content. Yes. Like what you do, we, it's, it's so interesting when we look at a situation in the world, one of the first things we do is we, we assign a meaning to it. Well, that must mean, and we don't even realize that when we, when we conclude that something means something, that what we're really doing is having a conversation with ourselves about the meaning of this thing.
Now, when it comes to meaning, here's where people mess up. They've forgotten that God is the creator of everything. And he, the first thing that he created was in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And what they don't realize is that heaven was created before earth, and earth was created after heaven. Why? Because heaven gives earth meaning. Which means when we get our meaning from heaven, we are on the same page as God. Heaven gives earth meaning. But earth gives heaven something, too. What does heaven give? What does earth give heaven? Earth gives heaven expression. I want you to, I mean, let that marinate. Heaven gives earth meaning. Earth gives heaven expression. And here's when we mess up. When we get our meaning from earth and then we attempt to express it as heavenly. So people, this is, by the way, this is why so many people hate God because they don't like the idea of somebody that they can't see that's greater than them telling them what to do. And do you understand that sexual immorality is nothing more than turning expression into meaning? Did I must have said that too fast? Because what you're doing is you're taking the appetites of this part of your body, of your, of your life, and you're making it the most important thing. And so you're taking an expression, which sexuality is a picture. Sex is a picture of something spiritual. It's not, it's not just, oh, it's a physical toy. It's not a toy. And I know people, uh, but, but I, I should have control over my own body. Yes, you should. You should be able to control your body to have it express heavenly meaning. Because if it's doing something else, it's out of control. Do you understand? God put our head up here and not down here for a reason. God put the head at the top because the head is where the meaning is supposed to come from, and the body is where the expression is supposed to come from. And so when you're letting the body run the head or the mind, what you're doing is you're letting the earth part of you run the heaven part of you. And so it's out of order. And when it's out of order, it can't work. At least not long term. And if it does work, the only thing it's going to work to do is lead you to destruction.
And so my best chance at my best life is for me to tell me the same things about me and my experience that God tells me about me and my experiences. I'm, I'm going to get back to the passage in a minute, but I want, I want you to wrap your mind around this. The scripture teaches as a universal principle that if you are a follower of Christ who loves God, then everything that happens to you happens for you. Even the stuff that doesn't feel like it. Mmm. I wish I had some help in hand. Everything that happens to you happens for you. I'm talking about when Joseph's brothers hated him, that happened to him, but it happened for him. When they threw him in a pit, it happened to him, but it happened for him. When he was taken out by the Midianite slave traders and sold to Egypt, that happened to him, but it happened for him. When he was lied on by Potiphar's wife and went to prison for a crime he didn't commit, it happened to him and happened for him. And all the stuff that you've been labeling your whole life as bad that happened to you also happened for you. But you've been so focused on the part that happened to you, you missed the blessing.
[sighs] When, when Jacob, Israel died, his brothers thought, "Oh, he's going to get us back now. We need to go beg him. We need to go beg Joe, bro, because like Dad's dead. Surely he's going to get us back now. Dad's not around." They go to Joseph and they're like, "Bro, please. We're, we're sorry for all the stuff we did to you. Please don't get us back." It's like, "Get you back? Get you back?" Here's what he said. "You meant it for evil. God, don't miss this word, meant it for good." Don't miss that word because we're walking around here talking about, "Well, I don't know why God allowed this to happen to me and God allowed that to happen to me. I don't know why God lets this happen to these people and I don't know why God happened to those people. I don't know why." Here's the problem. God didn't let any of it happen. He meant it. Wow. And he meant it for good. Well, I, I don't see how that's good, but you don't get to be the God of God. I don't get to be the God of God. I had polio as an infant, walk with a brace my whole life. And when I was a child, I HATED IT. I HATED THE fact that I could not run. When I was a, when I, probably until I was about 16 or 17 years old, I couldn't say the word polio without tears welling up in my eyes. That's how painful it was for me. You say, "Well, why is it not painful anymore?" Because the enemy meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. What does that mean? That means even when the enemy is doing his wicked work, he is working for God's end. It's so fascinating. Joseph said, "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good."
There's so many things that are difficult that happen to us that we would never choose. And what happens when that thing happens to us is we assign a meaning to it that is that has no heavenly origin. And so then we get bitter. We get bitter with people. We get bitter with God. And we, "God's not fair." God never said he was going to be fair. In fact, the word fair is not even a biblical Hebrew word, which means there's no such thing. It's not even a real concept. I'm telling you, you want to upgrade your life, upgrade your internal content. Upgrade what you say when you talk to yourself. And if you want to know what something good is to say to yourself when YOU TALK TO YOURSELF, say the same thing to you that God says to you, about you, with you, for you, and through you. Because otherwise you're disagreeing with God. And now you're walking with somebody else. For can two walk together except they be agreed?
Do you realize that the first thing we do, the first thing we do when we go through an experience of life, the first thing we do is we say, "Okay, what does this mean?" Which really means, "What does this mean to me?" That's the first thing we decide. We decide what it means. Okay. The second thing we decide is we decide what we're going to focus on. Am I going to focus on the fact that I'm in this prison for a crime I didn't commit, Joseph? Or am I going to focus on the fact that God gave me a promise? And until that promise is fulfilled, I am invincible. Even in the prison, I like nothing. There's not, hey, hey, there's not a maverick molecule in the entire universe that is not under God's sovereign control. How do I know that? But our God, he is in the heavens. He hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
You know what kind of faith we need? We need the kind of faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that stand fast and say, "We're not bound to your idol. We're not going to capitulate to your demand." Yeah. And we're not, not only we not going to do it, we're not even worried about, we're not careful to answer you in this matter. We're going to tell you straight. We're going to shoot straight. We ain't going to beat around the bush. "Our God whom we serve will deliver us out of your hands." They believed in the power of God, but they also at the same time believed in the sovereignty of God. Because right after they said, "Our God will deliver us," they said, "But if not, if he doesn't deliver us, we're still not going to bow down." And see, the problem with modern-day churchianity is the fact that we got too many church-going folk that as long as God does what they said, what they say, and he's the genie in their little Bible lamp and shows up with their three wishes just because they demanded it. Now, I'm going to follow God. But see, we need some folk who are yielded to God who are, but if not, lovers of Christ. I'm going to make you, when I'm going to love you when you give me a blessing that feels like a blessing, but I'm going to love you when you give me a blessing that feels like a testing. I'm going to love you when you give me a blessing that feels like a burden because I know that when you give me a burden, the scripture tells me that I'm supposed to count it all joy. Why am I supposed to count it all joy? Look what it says. It says, "My brethren, count it all, uh, um, um, James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad. Greetings." Let's start with that. The twelve tribes of Israel were being chased around the world and persecuted. They were thrown, they were sewn up in animal skins and thrown into the coliseums for wild animals to come eat them while the Romans cheered. And James. And by the way, I, I'm pretty sure nobody watching me on YouTube and nobody in this room has ever been sewed up in animal skin and thrown to the lions. I'm pretty sure that's not happened. But he's writing to them and saying, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into diverse or different kinds of temptations, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work."
What does that mean? Stay in the trial until the trial is done working for, working on you. As soon as the trial comes to us, we want to get out of the trial. God's more concerned with us getting from the trial, about what he desires for us to get from the trial, than he is in us getting out of the trial. But when I, when I, when I, when I, when that part of God's content programs and writes and prints in my life, that same content, I don't want it to be over until God wants it to be over. As painful as it might be. Do you realize so many, our language betrays us because we say, "Yeah, I'm having a bad day." You're having a bad day. Really? You're having a bad day. That's what you're having a bad day. You got breath in your lungs, but you're having a bad day. Your body works from the neck down, but you're having a bad day. Your body doesn't work from the neck down, but it works from the neck up. And you're having a bad day. Because God owes you how much again? I forgot.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and it cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there's no variable, and there's neither shadow of turning." If that's not good enough for you. "Of his own will begat he us." Wasn't because I was smart. It wasn't because I, I was not desirable. Neither were you. I'm having a bad, how can I have a bad day? I'm redeemed by the blood OF CHRIST. HOW CAN I HAVE A BAD DAY? I HAVE THE WORD OF GOD. I have the word for, I have a word that gives me instructions for every aspect of my life and all. And when I find myself frustrated, there's something in this word that I'm not yielded to. And so I got to change my internal content. And I'm telling you, the best way, people, oh, my, just a Bible thumper. No. Well, I don't really thump the Bible. The reason when I teach business, I teach it from the Bible. The reason when I talk about family, I talk about it from a biblical perspective. The reason when I talk about money, I talk about it from a biblical perspective is because I want the people who hear me to know that I am not the answer. I just found the answer. And I want you to know where I found it so you don't need me and you can go find it on your own. And so much fun. It's so much fun. You know what's fun? It's fun being able to stand up and teach people about business from a biblical perspective, whether they believe in God or not. And I, I, I talk about Jesus as plainly in business conferences as I do in this Bible study. I do not mince my words. I let folks know if you don't like God and you're triggered by that kind of stuff, you know, I ain't gonna be mad if you get up and leave. I'm all right. But they, they called me here knowing who I am. And I'm not fixing to water it down or change it because you. [laughter] Why do I do that? Because I want people to think I'm awesome. No, I want people to know God is awesome. I want people to know God's word is awesome. And I am telling you, when you make his content the source of your content, your life is about to get an upgrade.
I used to be a very angry, very, very, very angry young man. Why? I grew up in an environment where people were angry. And from a human perspective, they had good reason to be angry. You know, when my parents, I was born in a segregated hospital, contracted polio because I was the care, there wasn't as good as the care at Tampa General, and I couldn't be born in Tampa General because black kids weren't allowed to be born in Tampa General. I was angry because I couldn't run. I was angry because kids made fun of me. I was angry. I, I had a chip on my shoulder. I'd fight at the drop of a hat. Sometimes I'd drop two hats. But when I, when I was a child, I thought as a child, my perception was very childish because I thought it was about me. We think that because we're in the center of our universe, that we're in the center of the universe. It don't work that way. And I realized when I came to Christ, when Christ drew me to him and revealed himself to me as the answer to all of my woes, and I trusted in his death, his burial, and his resurrection, I didn't give my life to Jesus to be saved. It's not, there's no place in the Bible that says if you want to, you, if you want to be saved, give your life to Jesus. I hate that so bad. I probably shouldn't hate. Yeah, I give my life to Jesus, but I give my life to Jesus because he gave his life for me. I'm not giving my life to Jesus as a means of salvation. Salvation is not a gift I give God. Salvation is a gift God gave me. And I'm not confused about it. I don't want to make it the other way around. That's how, that's how, like our idolatrous language because of our idolatrous thinking. Because the words that come out of our mouth reflect the thoughts that are in our heads.
So how do I update my life with content? Upgrade my life with content. I upgrade my life with content by fixing the internal communication that I have with myself. And I say the same thing about myself that God says about me. I was talking to my good friend Kenny Grant on the phone last night. And I was telling him, he was telling me how, you know, magistrates, they get all this stuff and people always bringing him stuff. I said, "Bro, I ain't even a magistrate. People send me stuff all the time. I get, I get more books in the mail for free than the ones I buy." And I buy a lot of books. He said, "Yeah, man. I was talking to this guy." He said, "Yeah, man. I just got to get my book to Myron Golden." And I told him, I said, "It's so fascinating." And I don't mind because like I have hundreds of books I already have on my list of books I want to read. Hundreds, not a hundred. Hundreds with an S. Somebody's going to send me their book and my motivation for reading it is going to be the fact that they want me to read it. I'm confused by that. I, I appreciate the gift, but I'm still confused by that. Now, fortunately, fortunately, some, every now and then somebody gives me a book and it like changed the game. Like Pastor Tom gave me a book a couple months ago. It's called "Anyone Can Play Music." It was so good. And it wasn't just good about music. It was good about life. And, and what happens like he said, "Yeah, Kenny said." Kenny said, he said, "Yeah, I think, I think somehow they just want some validation." I said, "That's great, but you know what would be greater? If they just get their validation from the same place I get it from, get it from God. I'm accepted in the beloved, and I'm made in the image of God. That's about as much validation as I need. I, I, I can, I can run on the strength of that bread for the next rest of my life. Why? Because God has already, he, God accepted me because he chose me. And then he equipped me. Like if some human can't see the value in me, they didn't see the value in Jesus. What? I'm supposed to be better than him.
"In him was the light, and the light was the light of men. And the light shined in darkness, and the darkness did what?" Celebrated the light? No, comprehended it not. I got to fix what I say when I say it too much. Here's, here's our problem. We've been so impacted by the communication, by the conforming communication of the world, and by Satan putting thoughts in our minds, and by the screaming voice of our flesh saying, "Yes, satisfy me. Satisfy me. Satisfy me." And we've got such, we got a little trickle of the word of God coming in every now and then. And we wonder why our internal communication is so jacked sideways. Okay? Like, you got to fix your internal communication. If you don't fix your internal communication, there's no external communication that will do you any good. Why? Because you're not fertile soil. If your internal communication is jacked up.
So here's what I want you to see about God's content. God's content is language. Language is something that only spiritual beings have. Like dogs are cool. They're like, they're like loyal and faithful to the end. They're cool, but they can't talk to you. You know, cats and birds and fish, they're all right, but they can't talk to you. But God used language to create existence. That's mind-blowing to me. God's word was both the building blocks and the tools that he used to make everything out of nothing. People say, "Oh, it takes money to make money." No, it takes good content, good internal content, good external content, both horizontal and vertical. But if your, if your internal content is jacked up, your external content is going to be, even if you want to have good external content, you can't, because what shows up on the outside. By the way, Jesus said the very same thing. He said, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh." Yes. And he said that that a good tree cannot bring forth corrupt fruit, and a corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit.
I'm telling you, if you, like, I, I could, I, I guess I could literally stand here for the rest of the day and talk about the importance of changing how you talk to yourself. And when I say talk to yourself, that doesn't mean you're necessarily mouthing the words. Even when you're having that conversation with those two little voices in your head, say, "What do you think about this?" You know, "I never thought about that before." Those little voices. Yeah. If you would change the source of that content to let that content reflect his content, then you're downloading heavenly meaning into the part of you that represents heaven so that you can express it through your life, through the part of you that represents earth.
God's word is language. Communication. What's language? Language is communication. Do you realize that thinking is communication? So if I'm, if I'm, if I'm, if I'm thinking, I'm talking to me. But if I'm talking, I'm talking to you. And when I'm talking to you, what I'm really doing is talking to you about the conversation I've already had with myself. So if I don't have a good conversation with myself about me, it's because I don't understand the God whose image I'm made in. If I look at an obstacle and think it's bigger than me, then I don't understand what God has already communicated to me, which is that he created three categories in creation. He created creation: the sun, the moon, the stars, the trees, the grass. He created creatures: the dogs, the cats, the chimpanzees, and the alligators. And he created creative creators: men and women. And, and so we are the crown of God's creation. I mean, think about that. As a man or a woman or a boy or a girl, you are the crown of God's creation. You're at the top. You're not just at the top of the food chain. You're, you're at the top of the chain, chain right under God. There's where you are. And so when you see an obstacle that seems like an obstacle, that obstacle on, on, on the side that you can see, it says obstacle. But on the other side of that door, it says opportunity. And how you see it is going to be determined by the voices that you're listening to. And see, Satan wants to whisper to your internal voice. And the world wants to whisper to your internal voice. And your flesh screams at your internal voice. You say, "How do you know my flesh screams at my internal voice?" Because I have flesh, too. And all of us, that's how it is. If we have an appetite for.
Do you realize that the three, how the three enemies work? The world, the flesh, and the devil. The world tempts us in our ambitions, our desire to be somebody. My desire for you to think something about me is a worldly temptation. For you to think I'm cool, for you to think I'm awesome, for you to think I'm smart. If I am working and doing things to make you believe something about me that will make me feel more affirmed, that is a worldly temptation. Are y'all tracking? Like, I, I signed a banana to be one of the bunch. I go along to get along, right? I don't want, I don't want the group to be disappointed in me. But the flesh doesn't tempt us in our ambitions. Our ambitions. The flesh tempts us in our appetites. My desire to feel something. Whether that be feel something like with regard to our appetites for food or something to drink or for some people it's for drugs and for this, this feeling of, of this, of anesthesia, not anesthesia, anesthesia, uh, anesthesia from the pain of existence because you've refused. Do you realize the pain of existence either comes from one of two places? You've either refused to yield yourself to God, or God is preparing you for what he's going to use you for. That's where the pain comes. And even when God's preparing you for the thing he has for you to do through the pain that you're in, he gives you the grace to deal with the pain so that you could become the person who can do the thing that he made you for in the first place. That's why it says count. By the way, I didn't finish that. Count it all joy when you fall into dire temptations, knowing this, that the trying of your faith workketh patience. The reason we count it all joy is not because we love pain and we love trials. Oh man, I love it when people are just hating on me. This is great. Oh yeah, I love it. I love it when people steal from me. That's great. I love it when people talk bad about me. This is so wonderful, man. I just, can we get more of that, please? No, that's, that's not what it's saying. It's not saying pretend that it doesn't feel painful. It says the reason you count it all joy is because of what you know. See, counting, counting is a word of perspective. But knowing is a word of perception. So you know what James 1 is telling us? I can't count how I'm supposed to count unless I know what I'm supposed to know. Count it all joy knowing this. Knowing what? That the trying of your faith workketh patience. What's patience? The word patience means consistent, persistent endurance. So when your faith is being tried, it's making you tried. It makes you stronger than you are currently. And so I'm not counting it all joy because I love trials. I'm counting all joy because this trial is something God has given me to make me stronger. When I was working out this morning, I didn't feel stronger. In fact, the more I exercise, the weaker I felt. But the more I exercise, while I might feel weaker immediately, longer I get, the longer I do it, the stronger I get. That is, do you understand that all principles are microcosms of each other? That's a picture of something. And so the flesh tempts us in our appetites, but the devil tempts us in our attitudes. And so we got to understand how to get control over our internal content or our internal communication. It's so valued. It's like this will change your life. I, okay. I don't, I don't, I've gone through a lot of painful things in my life, and I'm sure you have too. And I'm not saying the painful things we've gone through aren't real because I know they are. Because we feel the real pain. How many know we feel the real pain, right? We feel the pain. We feel the pain of sickness. We feel the pain of the death of loved ones. We feel the pain of people who we've done good and they do us harm. We feel the pain of people stabbing us in the back. We feel the pain of lost opportunity. All we feel the pain. But what if we could be, what if we could make our internal communication more precise and more accurate? Instead of saying, "This bad thing happened to me. This bad thing happened to me. This bad thing happened to me. This bad thing happened to me. This bad thing happened to me." What if we said, "This painful thing happened to me," which would be way more accurate than "this bad thing." Way more accurate. "I'm having a bad day." Well, are you really having a bad day, or are you just focused on the painful and difficult things in your day? And I'm not saying your life isn't painful. Your whole life, you may have a hundred painful things in your day. I'm not, I'm not making light of that. But you have thousands of amazing things every day that you did not even ask for, and God does not owe you.
People think I'm positive. I, what people mistake for positivity is awareness. I woke up this morning knowing that everybody who went to bed last night didn't wake up this morning. How dare I say I'm having a bad day? My wife, my siblings, my son, my daughter, my son-in-law, my granddaughter, my in-laws woke up this morning. And there are, I don't know, hundreds, maybe thousands of people around the world who went to bed last night, didn't wake up this morning. And I'm not going to count that, but I'm having a bad day. They cut me off in traffic. Really? You opened your eyes and they could see, and you're having a bad day. I know how to make myself look. Guess what I don't know how to do? I don't know how to make myself see. It's a gift. I walk funny. But guess what? Walking funny is a gift. You know what I like about walking funny? I can play golf still. If I couldn't walk, maybe I wouldn't be able to play at all. It's a gift. Walking funny is a gift. You know why? I believe that God ordained in his sovereign wisdom. He meant it for me to be born in Clarify Memorial Hospital. That was God's design, God's ordained will. And I know a lot of people are going to disagree with this. That's fine. You do you. I'm just going to go by what, how I see what the scriptures say. I believe God in his sovereign wisdom ordained, because he knew the purpose of my life before I was born, that my body would slow down so my mind could speed up so that I could serve the purpose for which he created me. [snorts] And he wanted somebody, and I'm not saying I'm the only one or I'm the one, but I'm a one. He wanted somebody who's gone through things so he could talk to people who've gone through things about how to better go through things and trust in God. That's why the scripture says we are to comfort others. How? With the same comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Do you have the ability to thank God FOR YOUR TRIAL WHILE you're in it? I have a, there have been a lot of stuff that has happened to me that I wouldn't have chosen. But even though I wouldn't have chosen, I'm thankful that God trusts me enough to use me to be the vessel that encourages the brokenhearted and uplifts the downtrodden. Oh, by the way, he didn't just choose me. He chose you, too. Okay?
Communication, language, God's word is language. Language is communication. But language isn't just communication. Language is connection. I want you to think about that. Language is connection. The reason you're here right now, [laughter] it must be something I said. That's hilarious. It's so, it's so funny. It's so funny. People say, "Yeah, well, um, um, you know, nobody watches my content." Maybe you're not making a connection. Or maybe you're making only a handful of people. Maybe you're making a small connection. What if you worked on getting better at making a bigger connection? If, like, when I say connection, you're like, when I talk, hopefully, hopefully y'all feel like we're friends-ish, close friends. Okay, couple of you. Okay. So, um, like you feel like we're friends. But also, in addition to being friends, hopefully my words don't just help you connect to me, but hopefully my words help you connect better to God. Hopefully my words connect the dots in the darkness for some of the confusion that you have experienced in your life. And because I've been here longer, maybe, or I've been down a different path, maybe like I can shed some light on your confusion and share with you how God has revealed to me through his word. Not because I was, you know, having some mountaintop experience. I was just having an everyday, you know, walking with God experience. Maybe I can help connect some of those dots so you can see that God's love for you is so immense that he gave you the power of language because thinking is when I talk to myself. Huh? It's not just connected, but words are also, language is also your contribution. I find it fascinating that we live in a world where if you have something that's valuable to other people, that there are multi-billion dollar corporations that will make sure the people you created that stuff for hear it and see it. That blows my mind. That blows my ever-loving mind. I don't have any Google stock right now. Zero. I should probably buy some now that I mentioned that. Um, I don't have any Google stock right now. And yet and still, Google bought YouTube, and YouTube will share this video with tens of thousands of people in the next 24 hours. That blows my mind. If I couldn't, I couldn't knock on enough doors. I couldn't make enough phone calls. I couldn't, I couldn't stand on a street corner and communicate with people and let, make sure more people hear my message than just by uploading on a platform like YouTube. And then they say, "Well, oh, we know who would like this content based on this our software that does the crawling and the, I don't know how it all works. I ain't even going to pretend to know how it all works. But I know when I put it up there, they're going to find somebody. And if they don't find a lot of somebody's, and I want them to find more somebody's, I just got to get better. I got to make my message better. I got to get my language better. I got to get my communication to be more clear, which I'm working on. I already know I, I have not arrived in this arena, but I'm on my way.
God's word is language, but God's word is not just language. So, if I'm going to replicate God, then I'm going to make sure I'm communicating right internally, and we're communicating right externally. I'm making connections with me and other people because that's why I'm here. God put me here by myself, but he didn't put me here for myself. I need to be connected because God said it's not good for a man to be alone. And yeah, he needed the man needed a wife, but he didn't just need a wife. That's why God told him to be fruitful and multiply. So a whole bunch of people would be there to help a whole bunch of people, and a whole bunch of people need help. Okay.
God's word is language. God's word is light. So let me ask you a question. May I ask you a question? Yes. Okay. Here's my question. Are your words light? Are your words light? We're made in the image of God. So if God's word is communication, maybe my word should be communication. If God's word is connection, maybe my word should be connection. If God's word is contribution, maybe my words, with my words. It's so interesting how, how the Bible, like, okay, my word should be a contribution. The, the scripture says, "Let your speech be with grace." What is grace? A gift. Let me ask you a question. Are your words a gift to the people who hear them? Now, what I said, we said it at the same time too. Do, do y'all hear what I'm talking about? Am, am I?
I wrapping my words in a pretty little box with a bow on top so that when I say it, people feel like they're receiving a gift?
God's word is a light. Light is illumination. So, do my words help people see more clearly? Hopefully they do. Do they help people see what's already in front of them that they are currently blind to because they're so focused on what's missing that they're not seeing what's there? Do my words shine light on what's there in front of people already? I hope they do. Do your words do that? I hope they do. That's one of the reasons you're here. It's one of the reasons we're all here.
But God's word is light. But it's not just light. It's not just illumination. But illumination is also instruction. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet. Lamp is diffused light, but is also a light unto my path. A light is directional light. So God's word provides me with instruction about what's around me and instruction on where to go. Let me ask you a question. Do your words provide instruction?
So, it's really interesting. People complain about this and and and and and there's some some legit legitimacy to the complaint that, oh, everybody's a coach. Everybody's a coach now. Yeah. They got coaches for everything. Well, the reason there are coaches in so many different industries is because the world is changing so fast that if you think you're going to get a college degree to figure out how to make it in the new world, by the time you graduate, everything you learned is already obsolete. And the reason so many coaches are needed because some people as soon as AI came out, they did a deep dive on AI and now they're coaching people in AI and whatever the next new and some people was when YouTube came out, they started teaching people about you and some other people when social media came out, they started and when and when Amazon started having like affiliate marketing like there's so many things to learn.
One of the things I've said many times is it's it's easier to create wealth in your life right now than it's ever been in human history. There's never been a time in human history where creating like generational family legacy wealth has been easier. Never been a time in human history. But but there's also never been a time when it's felt harder.
So if it's so easy, why does it feel so hard? Because by the time you get toolled up, if you're not hyper intentional and hyper intense to learning, by the time you get toolled up, we're in a new era. Back in the agricultural age, it took thousands of years for stuff to change. In the industrial age, it took hundreds. In the distribution age, it could took a couple of decades. Sometimes now, it don't even take a year.
And we're in a different world. So funny. I remember like sometimes, you ever see these YouTube videos? Well, you probably don't, but go pull up a YouTube video of like the 1972 British Open, for instance. I'm just making that up. I don't know if that's any more special than any other thing that happened. 1972 Super Bowl, whatever. Highlights on YouTube. You will look at that and you will wonder how in the world did we think we could see something on that, right? Like, it's so blurry and so pixelated and so like we thought we were w Oh, this is technicolor. Yes, it's but it's gobbly goop. And now we got like 4K and 8K and 6K like like you like like you got a close-up on somebody now you can see their pores, right? It's like like what are we doing? The world has changed so much in such a short period of time.
The reason there are coaches, okay, the reason there are so many coaches and there's there's going to be more and there's more need for coaches. But if you're going to coach somebody, know what you're talking about, right? Don't just sell people stuff to make some money. But the reason there are so many coaches and the need for so many coaches is for the same reason there are so many. How many of you have a refrigerator in your house? How many of y'all know Lowe's, Home Depot, and a whole bunch of other stores still sell refrigerators? But everybody has a refrigerator. So why are they selling refrigerators? Because they're making refrigerators do more new and cool things. People say, "Oh, I like that. I can watch YouTube on my refrigerator." [laughter] Okay. Right. And so it's what they're figuring out ways to combine technologies to make like not it's it's it's virtually impossible for things to become obsolete as long as there are human beings who you have the ability you who whom you have ability to create appetites in and therefore you can sell them stuff.
Okay. So, it's instruction. But light is also inspiration. Do you ever notice how helpless and hopeless you feel when it's absolute darkness? That feels pretty helpless and hopeless. But words are light. And I I just hope that in somebody's little dark corner of the world that my words come to them and provide some light of inspiration so they can feel like they can do when they were done listening to me something they felt like they could never do before I started talking to them. What if that was all of our like what if that was truly our heart's desire to communicate? so clearly to people that it provides illumination, instruction, and inspiration. That would that would be amazing.
And then God's word is life because God is the creator of life. Did y'all It says in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God and the same was in the beginning with God and all things were made by him. Without him was not anything made that was made and in him was the life. Jesus said, "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, they are life." In Deuteronomy, it says, "It is not a vain thing for you because this word is your life."
Okay, I'm not done. I'm going to end with this though. Your word can only be what it's supposed to be if God's word in you is where and what it's supposed to be. Now, I find it fascinating that the scripture says, "Blessed or happy is the man That, by the way, that word man is Adam. So, it's men and women that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitth in the seat of the scornful. Did you ever notice God said, "This is going to make you blessed." Here's the first thing he said. Don't the don'ts. God said, "You want to be blessed? Don't the don'ts." What does that mean? That means people think they can add some good works to their evil works and God's going to bless it. No, God said, "If you want you want you want the blessing on this thing, start with don'ting the don'ts. Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth the way of sinners, nor siteth in THE SEAT OF SCORNFUL, BUT HIS DELIGHT is in the law of the Lord. And he shall be like a tree." It'll be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters to bringeth forth his fruit in the season.
You got the sun in the sky and I have no idea where my There it is. Okay. So, you got the sun in the sky and it's shining the light and you have the grass on the ground and it's growing up and reaching toward the sun. And somebody plants a seed and this seed starts growing in two directions at the same time. and it starts growing down and it starts growing up because if it doesn't grow down, it can't grow up. Are y'all tracking?
And see, this part of the tree is what we call the root system. Now, it's so fascinating because the root system works like this. You plant the seed, it grows down, and it it is gravitropic. One of my I love that word so much. It's such a cool word. Just sounds so poetic. It's gravitropic. What does that mean? That means it grows towards gravity and away from light. Do you under Oh, and by the way, where's where's the seed planted? Planted in the what? in the ground which is with the what? Starts with a dirt. D. It starts with a dirt. Okay. It starts with a D. Dirt. It's planted in the dirt. You know something interesting about dirt. Dirt is dark. But it's not just dark. It's also damp because there's water under the ground. It's also dense. It's also difficult for these roots to push through the ground. God said if you are unwilling to go through the dirt, dark, dirty, damp, dense, difficult dirt, there's no growth.
If you're unwilling to grow down, you'll be unable to grow up. And so many people, one of the reasons you have all these people who are wanting to be coaches and they don't have anything to say because they don't because they don't know nothing, right? They've never done anything. They've never been through anything, right? You want You want to be a coach? Go do something epic and then teach people how you did it. Watch this.
This part of the tree, the trunk. Well, I'll do it on this side. It shoots up toward the sun. It's This is the chute system. And the root system produces the chute system. And the chute system is photoropic. Love that word too. It's photoropic. Photoropic means it grows towards light and away from gravity. So it's the gravitropic part of the tree that makes the photoropropic part of the tree possible. And most people want to be photoropic. Look at me y'all. I ain't doing nothing. [laughter] Ain't doing nothing. Haven't done anything. Don't plan ON DOING NOTHING. BUT LOOK AT [screaming] ME. HERE I AM. YEAH, but you don't have any roots. You don't have any depth. You should be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters.
See, first you got to be planted like a tree. Then you got to be planted in the right place. You got to be pliable like a tree. It's by the rivers of waters. So when the wind blows, it doesn't break. Planted like a tree. Pliable like a tree. His leaf also shall not wither. Protective like a tree. Protecting people from the shade. I mean from the from the heat of the sun. Uh but he bringeth forth his fruit in the season. Productive like a tree. Productive. You start growing these fruits. I love how God just keeps repeating himself over and over and over and over again. He said, "One of these days they going to get it." Yeah, eventually.
Okay, but watch this. This is the fruit system. And the fruit system is also the result of the root system. The chute system and the root system which are both photoropic exist because of the root system which is gravitropic. If your work and your life is not bringing forth fruit. Instead of pretending to be a chute or painting some fruit, [snorts] maybe you should develop some roots. And watch what happens. This is the bee. The root system is the bee. The fruit system is the do. I mean the shootute system is the do. The fruit system is the have. The root system is the creation. The chute system is the connection. And the fruit system is the contribution. And God just keeps saying it over and over. Maybe if I say it different, maybe you'll get it. Maybe maybe maybe it'll make sense to you.
Now, I wanted to end on this because we're talking about content. We're talking about God's word. He should be like a tree planted by the river roots of waters that bringeth forth his fruit in a season. His leaf also shall not wither. Watch this now. And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Okay, let me say that one more time. whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Okay, let me put that in modern day vernacular. Everything he does works.
Did that put the jelly jelly on the bottom shell? Huh? Everything he does works. Let me ask you a question. How many believers do you know who are actually living that out? H sounds like we might ought to get on assignment, huh? Sounds like we might ought to get like start going, "Okay, it's time for me to get on assignment. Act like I know the reason I was put here."
So, here's what it says. Here's what it says. My ways are not your ways, sayeth the Lord. Neither my thoughts your thoughts, for the heavens are higher than the earth. Heaven gives earth meaning. So are my ways higher than your ways. Which means God's word gives us meaning. and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts. Then it says this, as the rain cometh down. Now when he says as the rain coming cometh down, here's what he's doing. He's giving us an analogy. He's giving us a metaphor. Just like the rain and the snow comes down from heaven. That's what he's saying. As the rain cometh down from heaven, as the rain and snow come down from heaven and waters the earth and makes it bring forth in bud, earth gives heaven expression. that it may give bread to the eater. You know what that's talking about? Consumption to the consumer and seed to the sewer. What's that? That's production to the producer. That's what just like the rain comes down and gives consumption to the consumer and production to the producer. Here's what God said. As now he says, so shall my word be. My word is going to be like the rain of the snow that comes from heaven and causes the earth, the dirt, to produce fruit and crops. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth and it shall not return to me void. It won't come back to me empty because when meaning when heavenly meaning hits earth, earth has to express heavenly values. Are we tracking?
It will not return unto me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, AND IT SHALL PROSPER. NOT MIGHT PROSPER. HOPE it pro. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Maybe it'll prosper. No, that's not what it said. It my word shall prosper in the thing where unto I sent it. So, what is that all about? Here's my job as a godlike, godly, made in the image of God, called by God, sent by God, content creator. Here's my job to saturate the soil that is me. What does that mean? God planted a garden eastward in Eden, had trees in it. Guess what? God planted the seed of an aspect of his creativity inside of me, inside of you. And is my job as the gardener who is the garden to water the soil that is me and saturate it with the water of the word of God so that it can bring forth fruit that it may give consumption to the consumer and production to the producer. And that is why I'm here. And I'm telling you, God says, if you will make your content a resource of his content, which is the source, then you get a life upgrade to the point where whatsoever he she, they do shall prosper. that those are God's content creation secrets. Let's go apply them in our lives. Let's see.
Let's man could you just uh how do you study the Bible? I asked God to teach it to me. Who can teach you about a book that's been written better than the author? So, here's what I'm going to challenge you to do. Saturate the soil that is you with the word of God. And don't be surprised when it brings forth fruit. Thanks for watching. Thanks for hanging. Appreciate y'all. God bless. We'll see you next week. Bye for now. [applause]
