How I Turned ChatGPT Into My Personal Assistant [Saves Me $6K/Month]

AI Edge22:51

Transcription

Over the past few months, I've been going deep down the AI rabbit hole, and I've built myself a full AI system on Chat GPT to control my entire life. So, in today's video, I want to reveal this system and teach you exactly how you can implement it into your daily life to become a more productive human. I believe that if you implement the steps from today's video into your own life, you could see a t-fold increase in productivity, organization, and enhance your skill sets and knowledge across the board.

I'm going to be showing you how to set up Chat GBT to become your own mini personal assistant. It's going to help you optimize all facets of your life from your to-do list and your priority planner to your diet and your exercise routine all the way to your finances and your wealth management. I've actually come up, and this was done by a lot of trial and error, with all the best prompts for each one of these verticals. I'm going to be sharing them with you today and teaching you how to implement it into your own system.

If you're seeing this channel for the first time, make sure to click that subscribe button down below and hit that notification bell, as I'm going to be coming out with regular videos sharing my journey on how I'm optimizing my life with AI, and hopefully, I can help some of you out because this tool specifically has changed my life a lot. So, let's leave the studio and head to the office to show you how I actually use this in my daily life, and then I'll show you the prompts to get it all set up.

All right, so this is the office where I do my daily work. I've got all my screens set up, but the biggest change that I've made to my productivity routine is adding this bad boy here, which is an iPad. Now, you don't need to use an iPad. You can use any other tablet. You could use your phone. You can even use another monitor. But I found a lot of value in turning my iPad, which just sits on the desk all day, as my dedicated personal assistant. So, this doesn't leave Chat GPT. It stays on all day. And I've organized a folder into my AI brain, which essentially has all of the different chats that I use to optimize my life, which I'll be teaching you how to do in a minute.

So, pretty much this is how I work. I'll be, let's say, scrolling on Twitter or doing some research, and if something comes into my head, I'll go to daily routine and I'll say something like, "Hey Chat, remind me later to write a tweet on prompting Chat GPT to research the stock market." So, I can basically command it with my voice. So, all day I just keep prompting it as things come up, as I get messages on my other screen, or as new work stuff comes up, I just voice command the iPad all day. So, having it here as a dedicated assistant allows me to save a lot of time versus, let's say, on Google Tasks or something, you know, having to type in every single task. And when I complete a task, I say something like, "Hi, I just completed my Chat GPT stock market research prompt. Uh, so please tick that off."

What I also do in the mornings is I ask it to basically set up my entire day because I can give it a priority list. So, I can say, "This task is a priority task, this task is not a priority task," and it can pretty much organize my entire life. And what I've also done is I've set up a bunch of other chats with things like wealth management, accounting, so I can track all of my expenses, all my accounting, and my entire portfolio strategy using the AI. So, the dedicated iPad is a pro tip for people with the resources to do it. But now we're going to head back to the studio, and I'm going to teach you how to actually set up these prompts yourself in your own Chat GPT.

Now, of course, the paid version of Chat GPT is better and it's more feature-rich, but you can use it with the free version. I do personally believe though, if you have the resources, the pro version is worth it. Obviously, it depends on what level you're at and how much you're using it. Nothing wrong with using the free version and then, if you're finding value, upgrading to the pro version later.

Okay. So, now I'm going to show you how to create your own AI brain. I have Chat GPT open in front of me. What you want to do if you have the pro version of Chat GPT is create a project by clicking on the plus button and then entering a project name. If you don't have the pro version, you can just create individual chats. It'll achieve the same thing. The only reason I like doing it in folders is because then I can just have one place, my AI brain, that I click into and then get a bunch of other chats. But the prompts will remain the same. So, I'm going to call this my AI brain 2, because I'm creating a new one for the video, but obviously, this will be your first one. Clicking create project now. And what this will do is this will create a new folder where I can create a bunch of chats.

So, I'm going to run through each of the most essential. The first one is a daily routine and task manager. This is the one that I by far use the most. I basically, as you saw before, use this as a personal assistant in my daily life. And I speak into it, giving it voice commands that essentially run my life for me. So, what do I use it for? I use it for to-do list planning, weekly planning in terms of big objectives, and because the chat history is saved, it learns over time. So, it learns how quickly I do tasks, which tasks I tend to complete quicker, which tasks I tend to avoid. And that's the real power of sticking to this longer term as a personal assistant. What I found is that in week two, three, and four, it just got better and better and better because it understood me more and how I actually go about completing my tasks.

So, here is the prompt that I want you to use. In the description, I'm going to leave all of these for free. This is the prompt: "You're my daily routine and task operations manager, responsible for managing my productivity, priority, execution, and task management." What I've done is I've tested this on Chat GPT. I've gone through and I've listed the things that I think are the most important and I've refined the prompts for you. Uh, so you can pretty much just copy and paste these and you're good to go. What you want to do is you want to copy the prompt over, just the prompt part. You don't need the first bit, although you can put it in if you want to edit the chat name, although you can always edit it later. Then you want to go into Chat GPT and create a new chat. I just copy and paste my prompt in, and bingo. What it's going to do now is it's going to respond saying, "Perfect, I'm ready to take on this role and keep you operating at your highest level."

Now, there's a very important thing. After you tell it what you want it to do, so being responsible for maximizing your productivity and keeping you on track, it's very important that you get it to ask you questions. Which is why under the setup instructions, I'm getting it to ask me my typical wake and sleep times, my non-negotiable daily habits, my top three weekly priorities, my upcoming deadlines, meetings, and trips. A general rule of thumb with AI is the more information you give it, the more accurate it's going to be and the better it can serve you. So, by getting it to ask me questions, I can essentially speed up the process of it learning my habits. You can even go a step further and do something like this. I'll use voice memo right now. "In addition to these four questions, ask me another four questions, which could help you serve me better as my personal assistant." So, you can even get it to ask you more questions. The four that I gave you are the ones that I think are the most essential, but you can answer as many questions as possible. It's not going to hurt. It's only going to give it more information to help serve you better.

How do I use this in my daily life? Well, I personally use it to manage my to-do list. So, I'll basically give it a bunch of things I need to do and ask it to prioritize them. So, I'll give you an example: "Hi, I want to get started by tracking my to-do list. Here are a few things I need to do. One, I need to create a new YouTube video. This is the highest priority task. Two, I need to research a new stock market investment. This is a non-urgent task, but I need to do it by the end of the week. And three, I need to take my dog for a walk. This needs to be done by tonight. Could you please list these tasks in order of priority and log them down for me?"

So, it's very good because you can use voice memos. I honestly think this is the best thing about using AI as your personal assistant. It's the ability to just, especially if you have a separate device like an iPad, set it on your desk and just while you're working, like command it with your voice. That's even better than a personal assistant because they're not always going to be in the room with you. So, for the amount I'm paying, which I think is $25 for the premium version or up to $250 for the extra pro version, like honestly, it's a bargain because a personal assistant would cost like four, five, six plus thousand a month. And you're getting this from $25 to $250, or of course, you can even use the free version. Uh, but I do find with the amount I use it, I end up needing the pro version, especially because I use a lot of graphics and tables and stuff like that, which I'll show you as we get into the chats.

So, you can see in front of you here, it has already listed my urgent priority tasks, my important tasks, and it's even created a summary board of tasks. As you complete the tasks, you just log them off. "Hey, I've already taken my dog for a walk. You can mark that off. I just researched my stock market investment, but I still need to create a new YouTube video. Please reflect these in the table and give me a new updated table." Done. Pretty much acting like my personal assistant, and it takes a lot less time than manually like editing your tasks in Google To-Do. So, that's the first thing that I use this for. There's another four things which I use my AI brain for, which we'll get into now.

The second thing I found Chat GPT really helpful for is tracking my diet and my exercise routine and giving me advice based on my objectives. So, what you want to do is go into Chat GPT. You want to go into your AI brain and create a new chat with the following prompt. The prompt is: "You are my fitness, health, and nutrition strategist, responsible for optimizing my body composition, health, and physical performance." What I have prompted it to do is ask me a bunch of questions pertaining to my personal fitness goals and my health. And it's going to, based on those goals, tailor advice specifically for me. Now, if you already have a gym routine, or if you already, let's say, play a lot of sport like tennis or basketball, you can just tell it what you like to do and tell it your objectives, and it will just help keep you accountable. I found this really good from a calorie tracking perspective. Actually, that's been the number one thing that I've found it useful for. I'll show you my one now.

So, if you go into my actual AI brain and then go into calories/health tracker, what it's been doing, and this is my real data, by the way, it's been logging my weight, my calories in, my calories out, uh, my deficit surplus, my protein, all my macros, and I've been sending it my workouts and getting it to review them. So, you can see here, I know every single day whether I'm in a calorie deficit or a surplus. I get the data from my Whoop band. So, every single day, I log the calories out from that band, or you could use your Apple Watch. You can even automate it. That's the next step if you want to get even more complicated with things. And I log my calories in. And it's very good at estimating food. It's not always perfect, but you can take a photo of your food and it will estimate it for you. Or you can give it an exact calorie amount if you know the calories. Or you can just say, "Hey, I had a chicken sandwich. It had a little bit of lettuce. It was sourdough bread. The bread was medium size," and it will calculate it for you, in my opinion, pretty accurately. But you've got to give it as much information as possible. So, if you can give it the exact information, it'll be even better. And you can even scan barcodes and send it pictures, which is a real hack because it can get those calories really dialed in for you. So, I do a bit of bodybuilding. I like to stay relatively lean. As you can see here, I've been losing weight. I was 88 kilos. My goal is to get down to like 83. I'm on the right track. Even with a binge day the other day, I'm still on the right track, which is great. I just make sure it keeps me on the right track. And I set up my workouts. As you can see here, I did a little arm day this morning, and I got it to review my workout, what I did well, what I did bad, and it gave me a full summary.

So, that is the prompt for the fitness plan, and that full prompt will be in the description as well. This has been a really, really great one in my personal life. I use the daily assistant chat and the fitness chat pretty much every single day. Now, I'm going to get into more nuanced ones. These are for people that want to get a bit more advanced, but are serious about achieving their goals. I think these are great, great prompts for you.

The next one is wealth manager. So, look, I don't think you should take sole investment advice from Chat GPT. However, it is great to have someone or something, in this case, there to help you really reflect. And I think that's the real power of these AI models. It's not necessarily spoon-feeding you, but it is really helping you reflect and think intrinsically about what your goals are. So, I have a wealth manager chat which I think is extremely valuable, and this is basically responsible for giving me opinions on my financial strategy, my investment portfolio, and my objectives over the long term.

Number three and number four go hand in hand. It's wealth manager and then accounting tracker. So, if you go into the AI brain and you create a new chat, once again, if you don't have the pro version, you can just create a new chat and click paste. It'll basically ask you a bunch of questions pertaining to your net worth, monthly income, target savings, risk tolerance, preferred asset classes, and time horizon. Once again, the more you prompt, the better. So, what I did, and this is very time-intensive, but if you have the time, it'll make it much more effective, is I literally sent it a 15-minute rant about my entire business, how I grew up, my family, how I think about wealth, how I think about money, how much runway I need for my business. I just gave it a lot of info so it really understood my objectives. So, personally, I like to hold a bit more cash. I like to stay a bit more liquid because I invest a lot back into my business and I'm constantly looking at new investments. Uh, a lot of which either in the angel or seed stage, or are investments that are slightly riskier in nature. And because of that high level of risk, I don't want to be holding, you know, a bunch of equities as well. So, when you give it personal nuance, it can help give you feedback which is tailored towards your personal strategy. And for me, that was holding, you know, more bonds, a bit more gold, things like Bitcoin came into the picture. I'm also younger, so that's going to affect things depending on your age and what your objectives are. The key here is to give it as much information as possible. So, if you can just send a rant into Chat GPT and just give it info, info, info, that's what's going to make it better for you. The number one mistake I see people make when it comes to prompting is they're very shallow. They use chats independently. The key here is to keep using the same chat for each topic. And I see a lot of people, they just say, "Oh, help me manage my finances or help me make a gym routine." No, you need to give it a lot of info. That's why I've set out these questions for you in the prompts. You need to give it the exact data necessary for it to give you tailored advice because these algorithms work based on information. The more information they have, the better. I really want to drill that point home because that's ultimately what's going to make this a success for you. So, that is the wealth management one. I found this very interesting. I've actually spent hours even just learning about stuff like, you know, how do tariffs impact the dollar? If interest rates go up, how does that affect me? How can I hedge against currency debasement? How can I hedge currencies? If I have X amount, all this sort of stuff I'm learning not just on Chat GPT, also on Grok, but through doing this wealth management exercise, it's helped me learn a lot more about macro portfolio management, which is great.

Now, number four, this goes hand in hand. This is your personal finance tracker. So, the wealth manager chat is one chat that helps me manage my overall strategy. But what I also have is a finance tracker to help track individual day-to-day or week-to-week expenses. Now, I don't spend time on this every day because I think that's a waste of time. But what I do is once a week, I import a spreadsheet, and you can even just screenshot, if you want, all the pages from my credit cards and my debit cards, and I categorize each expense so I know how much I'm spending, and it helps me know exactly how much I'm spending each month. Another thing that I think is really good is the budget tracking. So, let me give you an example: "Hey Chat GPT, before I answer those questions, could you just give me a table of my recurring monthly expenses? So, I spend $5,000 a month on rent. I spend $2,000 a month on food. I spend $2,000 a month on transport. I spend $500 a month on subscriptions. And I spend $2,500 a month on shopping. And could you please put this into a recurring table for me so I can keep track of my budget?"

So, as well as doing the monthly review of my expenses, I also get it to track a budget in table form. As you can see in front of you, it creates a really cool table that basically replaces a spreadsheet. So, instead of having to do a Notion or a spreadsheet, you just have a table here. And the reason I like Chat GPT tables a lot is because you can just voice command them to update it instead of typing. So, I could say, "Hi, could you actually reduce the shopping amount to $2,000 and could you please log it by month? So, this month's April, but I want you to create columns for other months. So, May, June, July, August, so I can keep track of exactly how I'm spending my money each month. And could you please add another column for business expenses?" So, this is great because you'll see each month how your spending deviates. Does it, you know, change based on your habits? And you can start to actually learn your habits. And the best thing is you can ask Chat GPT to analyze your habits. So, you can say, "Hey, I noticed I spent more in June. Why is this the case?" And it can say, "Look, typically you go over on shopping. I think it's because of XYZ." And then it might ask you a question like, "Do you find that you're shopping because of this or because of this?" So, it's very good for self-reflection, once again.

And that leads me to my final prompt for today's video. And then I'll give you some bonus chats that you can create. And that is the daily reflection prompt. I find Chat GPT an amazing friend in some way. Maybe that's kind of creepy to say because, you know, it is AI, but it is like a friend in the sense that it's just someone to talk to. And by having well-set-out reflection prompts, I found this has been really helpful for practicing gratitude, reflecting on what I do well, reflecting on what I do badly, reflecting on my challenges, and coming to terms with those challenges. So, this daily reflections chat is essentially every single night before I go to bed, it's going to ask me a bunch of questions which I'm going to log via voice notes. So, it's going to ask: "What went well today? What challenges did I face? What lessons can I take from today? What am I grateful for? What is my intention for tomorrow?" So, instead of writing on a physical journal, I just speak via voice memos, and it's going to log it automatically for me over time. So, I'm never going to forget my past entries. And once again, I can ask it to reflect on my traits. "What's a common thing that I struggle with each day? What's something that I do well each day? What's a common theme that you're noticing throughout my reflections?" And it can actually help you dig really deep into some psychological issues you may not even be aware that are there. So, this reflection is a very powerful tool.

So, just summarizing the AI brain so far, we have the daily task manager, we have the fitness plan manager, and you can edit the headings for these if you like by clicking manage chat and then renaming the chat. If you click on AI brain, it'll bring you back to this screen. We have the wealth manager, we have the accountant, and we have the daily reflection chat. So, these are the main chats that I use, but there are a few more things that you can use, which I'll run through now, but I'll leave the prompts for the main five in the description below.

All right. For me, something I use a little bit more niche, but I'm a content creator. I use the tweet writer a lot. So, this is a log of all my tweets. I don't necessarily get Chat GPT to write me tweets, but I love to get feedback on if I made a grammar mistake, what I did well, what I did bad. And creating a log of my tweets over time means that it learns how I write. So, over time, its feedback gets tailored towards my strategy. Something a bit more advanced you can do is actually feed it some of the cliff notes from the Twitter algorithm to get it to optimize the tweets based on the algorithm. As a content creator, this is good for me, but I think this can be applied in your lives as well.

Something else I was experimenting with for a while, which I stopped doing because it was a bit cumbersome, but if you're interested, I think it's something interesting to do. That's a dream log. So, I noticed that I forget a lot of my dreams. What I was doing is I was logging my dreams via voice memos in the morning, and it was telling me like what my dreams meant. "This represents childhood nostalgia. This represents a sense of belonging. This represents issues with fatherhood or motherhood." It was very interesting looking into it, and I think for some people, that kind of introspection might be valuable. So, the dream log is something interesting that I think is of value.

Another one that's very valuable for me as someone that's in the investment space is a calendar of key dates. So, instead of having to manually add a calendar on Google Calendar, what you can do is you can prompt voice memos when key specific things are happening like, "On this date, a new project's launching. On this date, this company is raising. On this date, I get an unlock from this investment." I find that's really helpful because there are so many times where I'll just forget to check an investment or I'll forget to check a new launch of a project just because I wasn't organized. So, by having a dedicated calendar for that, it helps me be more organized. But that's a bit of a niche thing for what I like to do specifically. Based on your goals, you could use the calendar for other things. Maybe you want to do it for work, maybe you want to do it for study, whatever it is, you can create a custom one. Just experiment.

And the final chat that I think could be relevant for a lot of you, especially if you're an entrepreneur, is creating a business chat. Basically, what I've been doing is logging all of my business plans, my business details, and ideas for the future. So, it can help me create business plans. It's created full structured PDFs of information based on my inputs. And once again, I find the more questions I ask it, the more blind spots it can find in my strategies, potential things to double down on. So, I'll tell it, "Hey, this is my plan with the business. This is a product I want to create. This is what I want to funnel into. This is the type of content I'm going to create. It's going to go on this platform. Could you help me optimize a business plan?" And then before I even get the final PDF, I say, "But before you send me the PDF, ask me 25 questions which are going to help you create the best business plan for me." It'll ask me 25 questions. I'll answer them. Then I'll say, "Wait, before you give me the final plan, ask 25 more." So, by that time, I've answered 50 questions. There's a much higher likelihood that the business plan will be better tailored for me. So, for business, having a dedicated chat is great, and it remembers information. So, in the future, if you come back to it and say, "Look, this happened at work. I've ended up changing this. We're going to change strategy with this. What do you think?" It's going to remember what you said in the past, your goals in the past, and potentially your new goal or new direction, and it's going to tailor the overall strategy based on the new information that you give it. That is why I recommend setting it up in terms of folders or brains so you have dedicated chats for everything instead of creating new chats. Technically, Chat GPT can remember things you've said in other chats, but it's not programmed to recall on information, which means it's not going to be as accurate or informed than if you just use the same chats every single time.

So, that is how I set up my ultimate personal assistant on my iPad, which sits next to me all day. Of course, when I'm at the gym, I prompt on my phone. When I'm on my laptop, uh, in the car, I prompt on my laptop. I keep all of the chats updated. But by using these chats to log daily things, it's been such a big life hack. I feel like I feel like I'm so much more productive now. I'm thinking in a different way. I have so many more ideas. So, make sure you're subscribed because things continue to change. The best prompts continue to change. And if you're subscribed, I'll update you based on what I find. I'm also going much more advanced with automation. This was a more basic video, but I'm integrating into Notion via Zapier automations. I'm integrating my Telegram as well. So, I can have all my finances syncing to Notion. Then my accountants can look at the Notion, make edits, and I can reflect those changes on Chat GPT. All that sort of stuff. It's a bit more complex. So, it's for a future video, but I do plan on going more deeper and more technical to show you guys how I'm doing that sort of stuff later down the track. So, if you do enjoy content like this, make sure to subscribe, turn on that notification bell for future content, and welcome to the AI Edge. See you later, guys. Peace out.
