Good evening everyone. Dr. Morris, injury experts. A crazy day in the NFL. There were three days of games already and we're going to cover a ton of injuries. Fantastic Sunday night game. My Patriots managed to come back, pull it off. Lamar obviously banged up. They lost Trayvon early on, but Stefon Drake May had his first ever 300-yard game and now they're locked into the playoffs.
Let's talk about some of the big injuries today and today's theme is quarterbacks, unfortunately. So, there were several quarterbacks injured. The one with the most significant injury is Gardner Minshew, who replaced Patrick Mahomes after who he tore his ACL and LCL last week. Gardner Minshew tore his left ACL today based on video and initial reports. So, they're looking to play on Christmas Day and I Chris, uh, I don't even remember his last name. I, I never heard of him. So, they have a lot of work to do. Unfortunate, kind of crazy. We'll have to see how it plays out, but, uh, not the best news for Gardner Minshew.
Jordan Love played last night, suffered a concussion relatively early in the game, obviously did not return, and in my opinion, that was probably the reason they lost that game. The game plan completely changed when he left the game. A lot more running, a lot less passing, and as a result, by, you know, an incredible comeback victory. The Bears managed to snag that one.
Josh Allen left today's game with a foot injury. They got X-rays. They ruled him out for a fracture, and he returned to the game, probably either a midfoot sprain or a bruise, but he overall did well. I believe it was his right foot.
Lamar Jackson obviously left tonight's game after taking what appeared to be a knee to the right ribs, kind of back here. They're at, at the lower aspect of the ribs or we call our floating ribs, the 11th and 12th ribs. They are not classic ribs. They're more, they're more hinged and floating. So even if you fracture them, uh, it's not life-threatening like some of the other ones up here. With that being said, they still hurt like crazy. You would have to do an intercostal block. And the type of player that Lamar is, is just not going to be realistic for him to return. So that's why we saw Tyler Huntley. Now, depending on the severity of these, there is a possibility he does not play next week or again this season for that matter. So we'll have to keep an eye on this. We will know more tomorrow or the next day if there's true, if there's fractures and the severity of the injury, if he's able to potentially return.
Marcus Mariota suffered a hand and quad injury the other day. And if he's not able to go later this week, I believe they also play on Christmas Day. Then we're going to see another backup. And as far as J.J. McCarthy, he suffered a right hand injury and initially says it's not a fracture, but if he's not able to go, Max Brazmer will also be in Christmas Day game. It's turning out to be what could be a beautiful slate, sarcasm included.
Chuba Hubbard had a pretty good game. He ended up suffering a significant laceration to the inside of his right pinky finger and, uh, he went, went back, had it probably cleaned out, assuming there was no fracture or dislocation. He ended up, uh, getting like a little, like finger condom we call them into the finger and then he came back and he played well. Unfortunately, his running back not so lucky.
Now, I haven't done a full video on this because I was waiting for the initial thought, the final thoughts because there was a lot of different possibilities here. Quinshawn Judkins, who, you know, had his early issues, but we know he was super talented. He smashed early on. He kind of fizzled out mid-season, but super talented. He caught a pass and just got his leg taken out. Now, I don't know if it was the same side or the opposite side that got taken out, but he suffered a significant right lower leg injury. When you look at the initial video, it looks like he tore the right ACL and suffered a dislocation, which then causes the lower leg to actually completely go off to the side. Now, that can happen with an ankle fracture, but it would have to be a very specific type of fracture, which would be a proximal fibula fracture, and you'd have to also fracture the ankle lowerly. Now, that's what actually happened. He fractured the probably the proximal fibula, what they call a Mason fracture, which then caused the lower ankle to fracture out. Now, we don't know. They said there was some possible knee injury. They did not comment on that any further. So it'll be interesting to see where we're looking at, but the initial timeframe is about five months, which would be basically OTAs, which would not impact the 2026 season. But if this does impact the knee, a partial MCL, a partial ACL, or full ACL, then that could be a substantial injury. So, I'm not ready to, to say he's out of the woods yet, but he may have gotten lucky in this potentially scary right leg injury for Quinshawn Judkins.
Josh Jacobs should not probably have played yesterday, reaggravated that knee likely, and basically got pulled from the game.
As far as tonight, Trayvon Henderson caught a pass, uh, got, got hit and it boom, smashed his head, uh, on, on the, on the cold Baltimore, uh, turf or or grass, whatever it is, and unfortunately did suffer a concussion. Now, uh, you know, I'll pull up the data in an individual video for him, but we have seen some guys clear. About 25% of the concussions have cleared the protocol in less than a week or less, whereas 75% haven't. So, we'll have to see where he's at. Uh, that's where the normal seven days. If it's less than that, it's almost impossible. If it's more than that, obviously, that increases their likelihood of potentially returning.
Um, as far as, uh, Jordan Mason suffered a potentially significant ankle injury. He was ruled out the rest of the game. Aaron Jones re-aggravated also suffered an ankle injury but was able to finish the game. Uh, as far as Kimani Vidal, he suffered a neck injury and we don't have any more information than neck sprain, stinger, sometimes, hopefully not a fracture, but we'll have to keep an eye on this. Omarian Hampton obviously was the primary back after that.
Um, there were a couple, uh, wide receivers that got banged up. Uh, we, we did see Pat Bryant take a huge hit, uh, across the middle, kind of got one of those where the guy got hit and he kind of like melted into the guy. It was kind of crazy. Probably a concussion, but I don't think they ever commented on it. Um, and then there's a couple other wide receivers, but most of the wide receivers got pretty lucky today and there were no tight ends that got injured that I could tell. Uh, so we'll have to keep an eye on it. P.J. Musgrave got banged up. Dear Douglas got banged up. Um, we saw Tyler Lockett get banged up. So there's some other guys that did get banged up, but as far as we know, most of the wide receivers in pretty good shape. Uh, it was the running backs and then the unfortunate quarterbacks. I will give you more later into this week. We're heading into finals week. Uh, it will be week 17. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, I'd love to help you. If you are here for the journey this year, I appreciate you. Thank you very much. Uh, thank you for supporting the injury experts and myself. If you, uh, do me a favor and retweet this video or shoot me a message telling me it, you know, did, did we help you this year? We will start the transition into playoffs is also into a draft season and we will start to ramp up for 2026. Thank you very much. Best of luck. I hope you won your matchup.
