Breaking news and bad news for Governor Gavin Nuome. President Donald Trump just announced he's ordering a massive fraud investigation into the state of California. Coming up, we'll walk through the highest risk areas of fraud, what they're likely to find, and how you can help shine a light on California's state and local government failures, fraud, and corruption. Coming up.

I'm Carl Deayo, chairman of Reform California and a California state representative. And you saw in Minnesota over the Christmas holiday, the wheels came off the uh the the the the cart of the Democrats as they are trying to launder money to left-wing political groups and various other uh scamsters, uh fraudsters. We have seen an epic level of fraud exposed just in Minnesota. But you have to remember Minnesota is implementing practices that were invented originally out here in California. California is actually the fraud capital of our country. And I've been warning people about this for years now. We've got President Trump announcing a massive federal investigation, a comprehensive investigation both on a civil and a criminal level to go after both state and local fraud here in California. Uh he tweeted uh on um or posted on on Truth Social uh his investigation uh in terms of how he's ordering it uh to to go down. And here is uh here's the screenshot for you to uh take a look at. California under Governor Gavin Nuskum is more corrupt than Minnesota, if that's even possible. The fraud investigation of CALIFORNIA HAS BEGUN. THANK you for your attention to this batter. President Donald J. Trump.

We're going to go through some of the areas that uh the federal in investigators are going to be pouring through, what they're likely to find. But remember, the only way that the Minnesota fraud was uncovered was not by the media. Liberal media covers up the fraud of the Democrats, cuz they're in on it. Uh it's certainly not by uh local investigators. It's by citizen activists who basically almost like pulling the yarn uh the threads on a old sweater. They find contracts and grants uh being given out to uh organizations in their area. They then go visit those groups and find that millions and potentially billions of dollars are being laundered to groups all under the name of helping people when in fact it's only being uh stolen by uh the operators of those uh groups. And if you follow the money even further, the money gets cycled back into politics. That's right. that that that's the part of this fraud scheme that uh the media and even conservative activists don't seem to really understand is that the politicians are in on it. The politicians give contracts and grants to uh these uh shady groups with the expectation that this shady group will pocket the money but the portion of that money is going to come back to the politician in the form of campaign support both direct and indirect. They want the contributions from these individuals but they also want ballot harvesting. They want candidate recruitment and support. They want to get voter registration drives going. All of these groups, whether it's in Minnesota or here in California, that are getting contracts and grants tend to have political arms and activities that they engage in as well. And they're not supporting Republicans. I'll tell you that right now.

Uh so here are some things that I want you to to to know about. And I'm going to start first with how you can help. Uh at Reform California, we've been doing something called Doge California since last year when I was sworn in as a California state legislator. And we've been uncovering billions in fraud. And we've been sharing what we know not only with the public, but also with the Trump administration, particularly the DOJ. Go to our website, reformc california.org. Check under campaigns for Doge California. We have the details up there about how we're doing it. But we need your help. Please chip in a contribution. Put fuel in the tank. Help us hire investigators to go out and pull public records uh to do audits to follow the money and where it's going to. Uh chip in a contribution of anything you can possibly afford.

A couple things that we're seeing in terms of fraud, outrageous salaries and benefits for government bureaucrats where they're literally double dipping, triple dipping. They're abusing overtime. They're pulling in these gold-plated pensions. They're going on disability leave. All of these things are happening in the light of day. And so, we're looking at the labor costs uh of these workers and whether they're even showing up to do any work. Uh second thing we're doing is we're looking at left-wing political groups. We're getting a list of the left-wing political groups active in politics and then finding out whether or not they're getting contracts and grants. And guess what? They are. Millions and billions of dollars are being laundered in state and local taxpayer money to these left-wing groups. Third, we are finding ineligible people getting benefits. Ineligible would uh we call that illegal illegal immigrants. Absolutely. And we are seeing that those benefits and welfare payments are going to people who are not eligible to receive them. We also see rigged contracts uh uh and boondoggles like high-speed rail where there's a no bid or one bid, no fair and open competition on contracts and grants, but it's all hotwired uh to a specific campaign contributor. Uh we're also seeing fraud in the form of illegal uh and hidden taxes and fees that they're taking uh from uh taxpayers, rateayers. uh and that money is not lawfully being done. Uh it it basically is just being added to various uh charges that government will impose on businesses and individuals throughout the state. So we're looking at a number of different slices of the onion um and and peeling back the layers of the onion to find waste, fraud, and abuse. Um check it out. Website reformc california.org.

Let me go through some of the things that the Trump administration uh should be targeting. And I know that uh based on conversations with a variety of folks that this is what they're looking at. Uh first is unemployment uh uh uh uh benefits. Uh Newsome presided over $32.6 billion in known fraudulent payments from the EDDD department, the employment development department. This is the unemployment uh uh payout program. Um $32.6 billion and that's as of the last count. Uh we know that the number is closer to 60 to 70 billion just in the unemployment program alone. We also know that there's $3.5 billion in food stamp uh fraud going on. We also know that these political groups are taking money for contracts and actually not doing the work. Uh, one example, if you go to my uh uh Deio assembly page, uh this is what my u uh state assembly staff were able to uncover. And that is this uh contract given out uh for a hate crime hotline. Remember that when when this was announced, I said there's no big increase in hate crimes. Newsome is just trying to uh pretend that there's some, you know, hateful um uh you know, movement going on in our country and in our state. Uh Californians are not hatefilled. But Nuome wants people to live in fear. Uh he wants people to think that a bunch of racists and and homophobes are out there. So he launched a hotline two years ago. And I said again, this is a waste of money. Uh well, March of 2023, he awards this contract. When I get in office, I pull the receipts. I decide to do an audit of the contract. Guess what we found? They spent $5 million on this vendor, LA211, to answer phone calls and emails about alleged hate crimes. Do you know how many hate crimes were referred for prosecution over two years? Zero. That's right. No hate crimes. But of course, we spent $5 million on this boondoggle. This group, by the way, is highly politicized. It's not like they're a phone service. No, they're a phony service. They actually are engaged in politics. It cost they they got uh 1,020 emails. Most of them were pranks. Um and um uh uh I'm sorry, they they got 2,118 emails or calls over 12 months. Most of them were pranks. It averaged about 5.8 contacts a day. uh when you just looked at legit so-called legitimate ones, ones that didn't, you know, use foul language and, you know, make fun of them, there were only 1,020 uh contacts over a period of of 12 months to this u uh group that got this grant. Um only 680 resulted in any sort of feedback or suggestion from LA211. That's a cost of $3,529 or41. $680 over the course of a full year. That's two responses a day. This group got paid $3,500 per response. This is insane. And of course, only two of the complaints resulted in a referral to a state agency for a civil action. They were regarding unemp uh they were regarding employment uh discrimination, which by the way, we already have an employment discrimination program. We don't need LA 211 to do that. And of course, as I mentioned, zero actual hate crimes referred for criminal prosecution. Uh those are the sorts of contracts and grants that you're going to find uh are being given out to groups all around the state of California where no actual work's being done. It's like the Somali daycare centers. No actual children are being cared for, but a whole bunch of people are getting rich. uh an astronomical cost per unit. So funding these fraud uh uh phony contracts.

Uh also take a look at illegal immigration and what you're going to find under illegal immigration is that a whole bunch of illegals are getting public welfare, even medical, even though they shouldn't be getting it. And the state of California is already spending 13 billion dollars of state taxpayer money to give free healthcare out. But what we've documented in my office is that there's a lot of costs for illegals that are being reimbursed by the federal government as well, but it's not being clearly identified as a cost for an illegal immigrant. That money is fraudulently reimbursed and it should be re returned to the federal government. Uh so watch for the audit of the state of California's Medicaid program, also known as medical, to return billions of dollars uh or uncover billions of dollars in fraud. Uh we also see uh all sorts of homelessness spending, $24 billion since 2018, no audit, nothing to show for it, but a lot of rich developers are getting billions of dollars. The DOJ already has a task force looking at an audit of the fraud, an investigation of the fraud there. So, ranging from unemployment benefits to food stamps to funding organizations on the left that are being given phony contracts with no deliverables so that they can pocket a bunch of money and use it for politics to homelessness to illegals getting free welfare like medical. All of these programs are the targets of Trump's investigation, and we've been surfacing all sorts of evidence of fraud, waste, and abuse on our side. But it's going to take both a top down and a bottoms up approach, which is why we welcome President Trump's announcement that he's targeting California for a massive fraud investigation.
