Nine men Christian women must avoid at all costs. Do not skip this warning.
Tamar did not see it coming. Second Samuel chapter 13 records that Amnon spoke to her with tenderness, drew her close with a request that sounded like need, and then took from her what she never offered. She walked into that house trusting what she heard. She walked out carrying something she was never meant to carry alone. The wrong man does not always announce himself as danger. He announces himself as need, as warmth, as finally someone who understands you. God preserved that account in scripture for a reason.
>> [music] >>
These patterns are not new. They have names. They have descriptions. And nine of them are in this video. Type God guards my heart in the comments right now. Because Tamar trusted what she heard, and God preserved her story.
>> [music] >>
So you would not have to learn this the same way she did. Say it again. God guards my heart. Like this video. Subscribe. And stay until the end. Because the ninth man on this list does not look like a warning. He looks like every prayer you have ever prayed. And that is exactly what makes him the most dangerous of all nine.
Let us start with the first one. And he may already be closer than you think. Type one. He quoted scripture, but God never lived inside him. He knew the right words. That is the first thing you need to understand about him. He did not stumble over the language of faith. He moved through it comfortably, fluently, like a man who had been practicing for years. He quoted scripture in the early conversations. He prayed over the meal before you even thought to ask. He said, "God told me about you before the third month was over." And everything in you wanted to believe it because you had been praying for exactly this. But Jesus did not say, "You will know them by their words." He said, "You will know them by their fruits." Matthew chapter 7 verse 16. Not their vocabulary. Not their church attendance. Not the verses they post on Sunday morning. Their fruits. What grows in the soil of their actual life when no one is watching and nothing is being performed for an audience? Judas sat at the same table as Jesus for 3 years. He heard every sermon. He witnessed every miracle. He was present for every conversation the disciples had about the kingdom of God. And he still betrayed the son of God for 30 pieces of silver. Proximity to sacred things is not the same as transformation by them. A man can stand inside the house of God his entire life and never once let God inside of him. This matters for you because the spiritually hollow man does not feel hollow at the start. He feels like an answer. He feels like the end of a long wait. He uses the name of God to create urgency, to establish trust, to move past the discernment you were right to apply. And by the time the fruit becomes visible, you have already invested your time, your heart, and your hope into something that was never what it appeared to be. First John chapter 2 verse 4 does not leave room for interpretation. Whoever says, "I know him, but does not keep his commandments is a liar. And the truth is not in him." The word is not harsh. The word is merciful. It is telling you in advance exactly what to look for before the cost arrives instead of after. Watch the fruit. Watch how he treats people who can do nothing for him. Watch what he does when correction comes and no one is applauding. That is where the truth about any man lives. If you have not typed God guards my heart yet, this is your last chance. Because every woman who has ever been deceived thought it could never happen to her. Say it again. God guards my heart. Stay with this video until the very end. What is waiting in the final section is not another warning. It is a biblical test you can apply to any man, any relationship, and any decision you are facing right now starting today.
And if the spiritually hollow man works through the language of faith, the next man on this list works through something far more personal. He comes in through the door your loneliness left open. Type two. He did not come for your heart. He came for your wounds. He does not come in loud. He does not push. He arrives quietly at exactly the moment your defenses are lowest. And he leads not with demands, but with need. He seems broken in just the right way. He seems like someone who simply requires what you already know how to give. And because you are a woman who has loved God long enough to love people well, your first instinct is not suspicion. It is compassion. That compassion is not a flaw. God placed it in you. But the enemy has studied it longer than any man you have ever met. And he knows exactly how to send someone through the door it leaves open. Samson was not destroyed by a woman who attacked him. He was destroyed by a woman who made him feel safe enough to stop being careful. Judges chapter 16 does not record Delilah forcing anything. She asked. She persisted. She used the warmth of closeness and the language of intimacy until a man who had defeated armies handed over the one thing he was told never to surrender. The weapon was not her strength. The weapon was his need to be fully known by someone. And his willingness to satisfy that need without first asking what it was going to cost him. This man finds you in a season. A season of grief, of transition, of quiet years that have felt longer than they should. He arrives attentive and grateful and just wounded enough that helping him feels like purpose. But over time, [music] you begin to notice that the relationship only moves in one direction. Your energy goes out. Your resources stretch. Your peace thins. And when you try to name what is happening, he reframes it as abandonment. Proverbs chapter 4 verse 23 does not say guard your heart occasionally. It says guard it above all else. For everything you do flows from it. Everything. Your decisions. Your clarity. Your ability to hear God clearly in the middle of a season when you most need to hear him. A man who positions himself as your mission rather than your partner is not filling the space loneliness created. He is expanding it. You cannot pour from empty. And God never called you to disappear into someone else's need at the expense of what he placed inside of you.
The next man on this list is harder to see coming because he does not take from you. At first, he only ever seems to give. Type three. He made you feel chosen before he earned the right to choose you. Flattery does not feel like a weapon. That is the entire reason it works. Every other danger on this list carries some weight you can eventually feel pressing against you. The flatterer removes that friction entirely and replaces it with something so warm, so specific, so perfectly timed that most women never stop to examine where it is coming from or what it is building toward. He tells you that you are unlike any woman he has ever met. That God clearly did something extraordinary when he made you. That he has never felt this certain this quickly. And surely that must mean something. And the danger is not that these words are obviously false. The danger is that a woman who has spent years feeling unseen will receive them like rain on dry ground and stop asking whether they are true. She will simply be grateful someone finally said them out loud. Absalom understood the mechanics of this before he ever moved openly against his father David. Second Samuel chapter 15 records how he stood at the city gate, met every person coming to the king, listened to their grievances, validated every feeling, and told each one that their cause was right and good. He never forced a single person to transfer their loyalty. He simply made each one feel uniquely understood until the transfer happened without anyone noticing it had moved. Absalom did not build influence through truth. He built it through the feeling of being seen. The flatterer in your life operates from the same architecture. He is not building you up. He is building access. Every word of affirmation is an early investment toward the moment he needs something from you that a clearer mind would never agree to provide. And by the time that moment arrives, the warmth he has created makes the request feel reasonable in a way it never would have at the beginning. Proverbs chapter 29 verse 5 names the mechanism plainly. A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet. The net is not visible at the start. The flattery is the distraction that keeps your eyes warm and your attention full while the ground underneath is being prepared.
If you have not subscribed yet, do that right now before we go any further. Drop your first name and your city in the comments below. Whether you are watching from Nashville or somewhere else across this country, let us know you are here. You are not alone in taking these warnings seriously. And every name in that comment section is proof that there is still a generation of women who refuse to let the wrong voice lead them somewhere God never intended. A woman who knows her worth in Christ does not need to be told she is extraordinary by a man who has known her 3 weeks. She already knows who she is. That settled identity is exactly what the next man on this list cannot tolerate because what he needs from you requires you to forget it. Type four. He called it love. God calls it a trap.
>> [music] >>
He does not begin with demands. He begins with devotion. He wants to spend every possible moment with you. He calls it love. He calls it finally finding the one person who understands him completely. And in the early weeks, it feels like the most beautiful thing you have ever been offered. A man who chooses you above everything else and wants you to choose him the same way. But there is a difference between a man who loves your company and a man who needs to become your only company. And that difference does not announce itself clearly at the beginning. It arrives slowly through a series of small frictions. Your daughter called while you were together and he went quiet for the rest of the evening. Your friend from church invited you to lunch and somehow the conversation that followed made you feel guilty for wanting to go. Your sister's opinion about him came up once and after that, her name stopped being safe to mention. None of it looked like control. Each moment looked like sensitivity. Like a man who simply loved deeply and felt things strongly. But the cumulative result was always the same. The circle around you grew smaller. The voices that knew you longest grew quieter and his voice, the one with the most to gain from your isolation, grew louder by exactly the same measure. Rehoboam rejected the counsel of the elders who had advised his father Solomon and listened instead to the young men who told him only what served their interests. First Kings chapter 12 records the consequence. A kingdom divided. A legacy fractured. Not because the elders were wrong, because he surrounded himself only with voices that agreed with what he already wanted to do. The man who isolates you is not trying to love you more completely. He is trying to remove every voice that might tell you the truth about him. Proverbs chapter 11 verse 14 does not say safety is found in one voice. It says in an abundance of counselors there is safety. God designed you to live in community, to be known by more than one person, to have your decisions tested against the wisdom of people who loved you before he arrived. A man sent by God will never ask you to choose between him and everyone who knew you first.
What comes next is the danger that does not hide in devotion. It hides in anger and it always promises it will not happen again. Type five.
>> [music] >>
God did not say fix him. God said do not go with him. God does not waste repetition. When the same instruction appears across scripture in language that does not soften or qualify itself, the only appropriate response is to stop and take it seriously. Proverbs chapter 22 verse 24 does not say proceed carefully with an angry man. It does not say love him through it or pray him into something better. It says make no friendship with an angry man and with a furious man do not go. The boundary is not a suggestion offered for consideration. It is a line drawn by a God who already knew what that man would cost you before you ever met him. The anger rarely introduces itself honestly at the beginning. It shows up first as passion, as a man who feels things deeply and is not afraid to show it, as intensity that looks in the early days like the opposite of the emotionally unavailable men you have known before. But passion that has never been surrendered to God does not stay romantic. It becomes a climate. It becomes the weather inside every room you share with him, unpredictable and heavy, and over time you stop noticing that you have been adjusting your entire life to manage the forecast. Moses was the meekest man on the earth according to Numbers chapter 12 verse 3. But Numbers chapter 20 records the moment his anger moved faster than his obedience. God told him to speak to the rock. Moses struck it twice instead. The water still came. The miracle still happened. But the consequence of that one unguarded moment was that Moses never entered the promised land. Anger that is not submitted to God does not just damage the man who carries it. It costs everyone standing closest to him something they were never supposed to lose.
>> [music] >>
The cycle you have observed in this man is not a personality quirk waiting for the right environment to resolve itself. The apology after the explosion is not the same thing as the repentance that breaks the pattern. Genuine change requires genuine surrender and that is between him and God, not between him and your willingness to absorb what he has not yet dealt with. You are not a punching bag. You are not a rehabilitation program. You are not the woman God assigned to love a man into wholeness at the expense of your own. God's plan for your life is described in Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11 as a future and a hope, not a sentence.
If you have made it this far, >> [music] >> you are already in rare company. Most women scroll past the hard questions. Most women choose comfort over clarity. You are sitting with the truth even when it is uncomfortable and that is not a small thing. That is exactly the kind of discernment God is calling his women back to in this hour. Stay until the end. What you are about to hear may be the most important thing this channel has ever put in front of you.
The next man on this list will never raise his voice at you. He simply will never fully show up either. Type six. He stayed, but he was never really there.
>> [music] >>
He is present. That is the part that makes this one so difficult to name. He is not gone. He is not cruel. He shows up. He stays. He does not leave. And for a long time that feels like enough because you have known men who did not even give you that much. But there is a difference between a man who is physically in the room and a man who has actually entered the room. And over months and years, the distance between those two things becomes the loneliest place a woman can live. You bring something real to him and he receives it without weight. You share something that cost you something to say and he responds with the surface of himself, never the depth. You find yourself editing before you speak, measuring how much of yourself is safe to bring into the conversation, shrinking the full dimensions of who you are down to the size he seems comfortable holding. And you do this so gradually, so quietly, that one day you look up and realize you cannot remember the last time you were fully known by the man sitting across from you. Ephesians chapter 5 verse 25 does not describe a husband who simply avoids leaving. It describes a man who gives himself up for his wife the way Christ gave himself up for the church. That is not a passive posture. That is not a man who is merely present in proximity. That is a man who moves toward, who pursues, who lays down what is comfortable in him to meet what is real in her. Emotional unavailability is not a minor incompatibility to be managed across decades. It is the absence of the very thing God designed marriage to require. Isaac loved Rebecca. Genesis chapter 24 verse 67 records that she became his wife and he loved her and that she was a comfort to him after [music] his mother's death. That love required him to be present to his grief before he could be present to her. Emotional availability is not a personality type. It is a choice a man makes to do the interior work that genuine love demands. A man who has never learned to access his own depth cannot offer you his. That is not a wound you are equipped to heal and it is not a void you were designed to fill.
What comes next cuts even closer. It is the man who once celebrated your faith but slowly started asking you to make it smaller. Type seven. He loved your faith until it cost him something. He did not resent it at the beginning. That is the detail that makes this one so disorienting to live through. In the early days he admired it. He told his friends about the kind of woman you were. He sat beside you in the pew and he seemed proud to be there. Your faith was part of what drew him to you and you had every reason to believe that what he was expressing was genuine appreciation for who God had made you to be. But faith that costs nothing has not yet been tested. And the moment your walk with God began to require something he had not budgeted for the admiration began its quiet conversion into something else entirely. You stayed to serve a church and he made the evening feel like a debt you owed him. You tithed faithfully and he called it irresponsible. You declined something that violated your convictions and he told you that you were being extreme. The language was always reasonable. The pressure was always consistent and the cumulative direction was always the same toward a smaller quieter less inconvenient version of your faith. Michal watched David dance before the Lord with everything he had as the ark returned to Jerusalem and scripture records in 2 Samuel chapter 6 that she despised him in her heart. Not because he had sinned because his abandon before God embarrassed her sense of dignity. Her contempt was not for his failure. It was for his wholeness. And the text does not separate her response from its consequence. 2 Samuel chapter 6 verse 23 >> [music] >> simply places both facts beside each other and lets the reader understand what resentment toward a person's devotion to God ultimately produces. A man who tolerates your faith when it is convenient but resents it when it requires something of him >> [clears throat] >> has not accepted you. He has accepted a version of you he is quietly hoping to revise. And the revision always moves in one direction away from God never toward him. Romans chapter 8 verses 38 and 39 declares that nothing shall be able to separate you from the love of God. Nothing. No relationship no pressure no slow accumulation of compromise dressed up as maturity. Your faith is not a personality trait to be negotiated. It is the foundation everything else in your life stands on. Guard it even when the pressure is gentle especially when the pressure is gentle.
Now one man remains and he may be the most dangerous of all eight because everything about him will feel like the answer you have been waiting years to receive. Type eight. He had the vision but never built a single thing. He has vision. That is the first thing you need to understand about why this one is so easy to stay too long with. He can describe the future in a way that makes it feel real and close and worth believing in. He talks about what he is building with the kind of conviction that sounds in the early conversations exactly like faith. And because you are a woman who understands that God calls people to things that do not yet exist you give him the benefit of the doubt. You call it potential. You call it a season. You tell yourself that the right support might be exactly what he needs to finally move forward. But there is a difference between a man in a difficult season and a man who has made a permanent residence out of one. A season has movement inside it even when the progress is slow. What this man has is not a season. It is a pattern. A new idea every few months that never survives contact with the sustained effort required to bring it into reality. A trail of unfinished things behind him and an unshaken confidence that the next thing will be different. And somehow quietly your resources your energy, your finances your emotional reserves keep getting drawn into the gap between what he talks about and what he actually does. Proverbs chapter 18 verse 9 does not soften the verdict. He who is slack in his work is brother to him who destroys. The connection is not accidental. Chronic aimlessness is not a neutral condition waiting to be redirected by the love of the right woman. It is a destructive force that moves slowly enough that the damage is well underway before it becomes visible. Nehemiah did not speak about rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem for years without laying a single stone. He prayed. He planned. He assessed the damage by night and then he built. Nehemiah chapter 2 records a man who matched the size of his vision with the discipline of his effort. That alignment is not optional. It is the evidence that a man's ambition has been submitted to God rather than merely announced in his name. You are called to be a helper according to Genesis chapter 2 verse 18. You are not called to be a foundation for a man who refuses to build. Watch what he does with ordinary Tuesday mornings when no one is watching and nothing is being performed. That is the man you will actually spend your life with.
There is one man left on this list and he is the subtlest of all nine because he will not look like a warning. He will look like everything you ever brought before God in prayer. Type nine. He was everything you prayed for >> [music] >> and nothing God confirmed. He checks every box. That is exactly the problem. He is kind and he is stable and he loves God and he treats you well. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with him on paper. And the feeling you have around him is so close to what you always imagined that the question of whether God actually sent him starts to feel unnecessary almost presumptuous like asking for confirmation on something that already looks like the answer. But Israel asked for a king. 1 Samuel chapter 8 records the moment. The people came to Samuel and told him they wanted what every other nation had. God did not tell them they had chosen someone evil. He told Samuel in verse 7 that in asking for a king they had rejected God from being king over them. The man they wanted was not wicked. Saul was tall and impressive and exactly what a king was supposed to look like. He was everything they had pictured and he was not what God would have chosen for them. Feelings are real. Compatibility is real. Chemistry is real but none of those things are confirmation. Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6 does not say trust your checklist and he will direct your paths. It says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. The understanding that produces the checklist is still your understanding. And your understanding however sincere however refined by years of faith and prayer is not the same thing as God's voice. The most dangerous version of the wrong man is the one your own heart assembled from everything it ever wanted. Because that man bypasses every warning and speaks directly to your hope. Slow down. Get still. The peace that passes understanding in Philippians chapter 4 verse 7 is not the same feeling as excitement. Learn the difference before you make a covenant out of a feeling.
What you do with these nine warnings is the only question that matters now. There will be a moment that arrives for every woman without exception. Not a moment of argument or debate. A moment of complete stillness before a God who saw every warning received every pattern recognized and every choice made in full knowledge of what scripture already said. Ecclesiastes chapter 12 verse 14 records that God will bring every deed into judgment including every hidden thing whether good or evil. The question that moment will not allow you to avoid is this. When God showed you these nine men in his word what did you do with what you saw? You just watched nine warnings drawn directly from scripture. You heard the patterns. You heard the destinations. That is not information you stumbled across accidentally. That is God in his mercy giving you the same clarity he gave every woman in his word who was wise enough to receive it before the consequences arrived instead. There is someone in your life right now who needs what you just received. A daughter making a decision too quickly. A friend who has already dismissed every red flag and called it faith.
