heart can't help but believe it there's nothing that a God can't do there's not a mountain that he can do so praise the name that makes our way there's nothing that our God can't do [Music] oh how us tonight uh one's a prayer and a praise report sister Edith Richman had to go she failed a stress test at the hospital and they admitted her to the hospital and the day later uh she sent me this text said I went down for the heart cath this morning after they prepped me to have the calf the nurse asked if she could pray with me and I said of course and she did didn't seem like it was five minutes and the doctor came and said my arteries look great he said he didn't know what had happened from the stress test to the present moment and said I should be able to leave and go home this morning she said I know what happened between the stress test and this morning a bunch of folks got on the prayer line begin to pray come on give Him a praise give Him a praise right now give Him a praise give Him a praise give Him a praise thank God please remember sister Paula Solomon tonight in prayer she called me yesterday and her father had passed away 84 years old he lived in Missouri Missouri Missouri and please remember sister Paula she was very broken I received this text from brother Doug Solomon and let's let's listen very closely he sends a text and started radiation this week and he said I started chemo today we'll do radiation every day for six weeks the last day of radiation will be December 31st I'm going to stop right there and tell you I'm looking forward to that day because I'm ready to tell 2020 goodbye he'll have radiation December 31st there will be four three-day cycles of chemo every three weeks the last cycle of chemo will be January the 20th I feel okay I'm just tired listen to this I will beat this in the end let everyone know that we appreciate the thoughts and prayers the food has been a blessing as well love you guys that's brother Doug and sister Paula Solomon no doubt they're watching tonight we're taking y'all before God in prayer let's pray right now Father we come before You tonight so thankful for Your love and so thankful for Your mercy oh God of heaven I praise You tonight God I thank You that You're our anchor in the storm Lord You're our rock of direction in a weary land You are all in all I have confidence faith and trust in You regardless of what comes my way I know God that when I call upon You that You look down from glory upon this situation and it's nothing in Your eyes cancer is nothing in Your eyes Lord You either have the ability to heal the cancer or You have the ability to give me strength oh God to walk through Father tonight I pray for every uplifted hand I pray for every person online congregation that's worshiping right now let there be healing let there be deliverance let there be a special spiritual touch God let the God Your God of all comfort Lord You are the God of all comfort let it come upon us tonight God let Your hand of healing and protection be upon us tonight You are the Most High God You are our Father I love You and I praise You I ask all of these things in the name of Jesus I want to give a great praise report a week ago tomorrow I was driving my wife and I were driving to go preach for brother Jordan and sister Atkinson and uh a precious man in this church a precious man and his wife brother Randy Cox called me and he said brother Carpenter would you happen to be around the church I said no I'm not at the moment he said well I said brother Randy how can I help you he said I'm on my way to the church said I've made the decision I want to be baptized in Jesus name and uh brother Randy you got to see it on I got to see it uh FaceTime and I I'll just tell you I've been rejoicing brother Randy that's one of the finest men they drive all the way up here from Madisonville and that's one of the finest men and his wife back there that you'll ever want to meet I'm just so my cup my cup is running over been been two nights of revival Thursday and Friday night brother sister uh Jordan Atkinson he's right out of this church you all would be so proud every ACA teacher that had anything to do with Jordan would be so proud to see that powerhouse that revival church that they've got right now going on and all of you got a little touch of an investment in that church and then Sunday we were at uh and I kind of had to get this correct in my mind Thursday and Friday we were brother Atkinson's and Sunday morning we preached the 34th anniversary of brother Atkinson I just had to drop the sun we had brother sister Atkinson our district superintendent their 34th pastoral anniversary we had a great time and I know y'all had a great time here in the house of the Lord how many had a wonderful time Sunday at church thank God now Father we come before You tonight and we're so thankful Lord we're so very thankful God for Your love and for Your for Your mercy Father I ask You tonight as we bring our offerings to You as a small token of our love and appreciation for all that You've done for us the many prayers that You've answered God how You've kept Your hands upon us in such a wonderful way Lord bless this offering tonight may it be like the fish and the loaves may it be multiplied so it feeds a multitude in Jesus mighty name we pray amen and first lady Carpenter back home with us he is going to be coming in just a moment in ministering I just want to make a quick book promotion to you tonight um we have uh just got a shipment in uh from Singapore uh brother Timothy Lee Pastor Timothy Lee um he called me probably about two or three months ago and he said that we have uh got a brand new printing of what is called Entering the Restricted Zone this is by former missionary Steve Willoughby he was the missionary he and his wife both died very early of cancer but before he passed he wrote an incredible book and there's a place in Singapore Singapore is a city country so it's all it's all buildings it's it's you don't leave city limits it's a city country of Singapore and within Singapore there's what is called the restricted zone and I'm not going to tell anything more about it I've got this book I've read it it's a great read I promise you it'll bless you to understand the lessons that brother Willoughby learned in that restricted zone um if you're interested in missions or just in ministry this is a great book for you it's available at our bookstore uh for the price of twenty dollars matter of fact I just got on Amazon's I wanted to see what it was selling for on Amazon and it's sixty-five dollars on Amazon sister Robertson I hope you didn't hear that it's sixty-five dollars on Amazon right now it's a very it's very hard to get it's a book that's very hard to get we have I don't know maybe 15 20 copies at the bookstore please avail yourself to that book also to all of you that are in our your Bible stand anyway thank God turn with me to Exodus chapter 32 and verse number 26 Exodus chapter 32 and verse number 26. I want to give an announcement for prayer revival through the month of November and uh I certainly missed I certainly missed our time of prayer uh being off preaching and I'm looking forward in the morning Lord willing to plan to be here at 6:30 and start ringing those prayer bells of heaven because it's definitely making a change in the atmosphere of our church so don't forget prayer times Monday through Friday throughout the month of November Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 8 AM we pray here in the auditorium and Saturday morning uh 10 AM brother Erickson told me that last Saturday morning there was it just looked like the church had gathered for prayers it was tremendous tremendous group that were gathered here for prayer the Lord is coming the Lord is coming the Lord is coming as never before I've always felt the Lord's coming but there were times that when I would preach about the coming of the Lord there was a burden there there was a burden not that the burden is not there but I almost feel like that the coming of the Lord is so soon that there's a joyful anticipation a joyful anticipation I have the burden because I don't want anybody to be lost but I also have a relationship with the one coming again and oh I want to see Him I want to see Him could we I know I asked you to open up your Bibles but could we just for a moment just just love God for just a moment just lavish praise tell Him I love You Jesus I thank You Jesus I worship You almighty God I thank You glory to God glory to God glory to God listen to that right now listen to that praise come on everything every person that's anticipating the coming of the Lord every person that's anticipating the coming of the Lord let's let's make a noise to Him tonight let's let's begin to rejoice I love You Lord I praise You God oh I thank You Lord I thank You God You're worthy You're worthy Exodus chapter 32 and verse number 26 I'm going to going to read this passage I'm going to pray and then I want the the next three passages to be brought up Exodus 32 and verse 26 then Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said who is on the Lord's side let him come unto me and all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him I want to use the question that Moses asked as my title tonight who is on the Lord's side who is on the Lord's side now Father I love You Jesus Christ I adore You Jesus Christ I know You and the power of the gospel I know You Lord by faith Hallelujah I praise You tonight God Lord Your people have come for Bible study tonight and help me to feed them Lord help me God to prepare them as a bride gets ready for her wedding day help me oh God to prepare the church for the sound of the trumpet I'll give You praise and honor and glory if You'll anoint me tonight help me to do my job Lord help me to do what You made me and called me to do I'll give You praise tonight Jesus name I do ask amen amen give the Lord a hand to praise before you're seated who is on who is on the Lord's side Matthew chapter 6 and verse number 24. Jesus made it very plain when He said no man somebody say no man no man can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other ye cannot serve God and mammon or that word mammon there is money you cannot serve God and mammon or money no man can serve two masters Judges chapter 17 verse number 6 in those days there was no king in Israel but every man did that which was right in his own eyes Proverbs chapter 14 and verse number 12 there is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death but the help of the Lord tonight I'll tie all these scriptures together because I believe they're very important to our minds as we prepare ourselves for that coming of the Lord for that great for that great day it was Moses in Exodus 32 and verse number 26 it was Moses that made the cry out to the church to the congregation who is on the Lord's side who is on the Lord's side we understand tonight that God made us with a freedom of choice we have the liberty of choosing we are not as angels we are humans that have been given by God the ability to choose the ability to choose it's not automatic Moses knew that what a time it was what a time what a time it was a time that they had been delivered from Egyptian bondage you will help tonight to know that the time that the scripture is in reference to who is on the Lord's side and I hope tonight by the time that I'm finished that all of us would say confidently I am on the Lord's side I am on the Lord's side don't say the Lord's on my side because your side nor my side is worth belonging to but I don't want to be I don't want the Lord on my side I want to be on the Lord's side so I hope tonight that you leave here and all you can remember for the rest of the week is I am on the Lord's side now if you have to if you have to question it then the questioning is the answer that you're not on the Lord's side I want to be on the Lord's side the timing the timing kind of like our timing right now what an unusual day we're living in what an unusual what an unusual day that we are living in and I I am not referring to politics tonight I am not referring to politics tonight I I'm referring to the day that we're living in the time that we're living in has nothing to do with politics right and wrong doesn't have anything to do with politics right and wrong have to do everything with God let's put our politics aside because it doesn't matter what side of the aisle you are on but it does matter if you're on the Lord's side that's right it does matter now I just want to take a little time tonight to an unusual time an unusual time uh there's more upheaval today in our nation and as goes this great nation goes the world as goes this great nation goes the world it's unusual it's unusual because here in this 32nd chapter they had been brought out of Egyptian bondage but they were brought straight to the mountain where God gave them a law or they were in the process of getting a law they were in the process of receiving their freedom their freedom so brother Carpenter they were set free from Egypt that's true but they were meant to live free we're not only destined to have a one-time experience with God we are supposed to live a life of being free and the only way that we can enjoy freedom is God's word God's word is our freedom God's word is our liberty and so the people had been set free but God wanted to let them live free how many want to live free I just don't want to have a a historical event that happened to me at 16 that I always look back on I I want that I want Him to be my life I not only want to look back and know that I was set free but I want to stand here on a Wednesday evening in November of 2020 and tell you that I'm still living free I'm living free but I'm only living free because of the word of God and so in Exodus chapter 32 we will begin our journey that what caused Moses to ask the question who is on the Lord's side who is on the Lord's side now what a question to ask the delivered people what a question to ask a delivered Israel who's on the Lord's side well you think it would be obvious but the way they were living the way they were living prompted Moses to have to ask can you tell me who is on the Lord's side who is on the Lord's side verse 1 and when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron and said unto him up make us gods we shall go before us for as for this Moses the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt we walk not what is become of him now I want you to understand that the people missed a golden opportunity to exercise faith in the invisible God because God purposely took Moses their visible deliverer away from them for a season to give them a law that they could live by but when the people could not see their Moses they automatically instead of developing faith they begin to revert back to the nature of slaves they begin to revert back and let me say something anytime there's a change in the environment COVID would be a great example of that it's not time for us to doubt it's time for us to develop our faith this season is not time I I refuse I refuse to want to talk about all the negative that COVID has done can I tell you only the future is going to reveal to us the positive strengths that are going to come out and that already have come out of this thing called COVID but they reverted back and the Bible says in verse 2 and just leave your Bibles open at chapter 32 verse number 2 and Aaron said unto them as a matter of fact they spoke to Aaron they spoke to Aaron they said to Aaron up and make us gods notice that's plural verse 1 that's plural because they are reverting back to the Egyptian nature of worshiping many gods now they speak to Aaron what's Aaron therefore well if you will remember Aaron is Moses's mouthpiece Aaron is eloquent with his speech Aaron is a communicator Aaron could communicate he could articulate but Aaron was to follow Moses Moses was the guide Moses was the leader he may have lacked his weakness may have been communication skills but his strength was leadership whereas Aaron's strength was communication but he proves to be a horrible leader they tell Aaron to get up and to make them gods now Aaron fails the test sister Carpenter always refers to this as teaching moments that God gives us moments that we have an opportunity to teach a valuable lesson they are what she refers to as teaching moments in life teaching moments in life Aaron misses a valuable lesson to develop leadership because verse 2 ought to read something like this and Aaron said to the people what in the world are you thinking about have you lost your living loving mind who would ever want to go back to the ways of Egypt when we ate onions and garlic and our backs were beaten what is wrong with you let's believe in this invisible God Jehovah and let's wait for Moses to come down from the mountains but verse 2 doesn't read that way verse 2 chapter 32 and verse 2 reads this way and Aaron said unto them break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives and of your sons and of your daughters and bring them unto me now you've got to understand something as slaves they never owned gold as slaves they never owned jewelry they were poor slaves well how did they get the golden earrings how did they get all this they got it because the night they were coming out of Egypt the Egyptians wanted them out so speedily that the Egyptians began to cast their gold into the streets and the the Israelites the delivered people picked them up but we find as they pick them up and of course if we go back and study history out a little how a man proved his wealth was by gold that he placed on his family you saw a woman come down the road and she was decked in all kind of gold it wasn't for her vanity's sake she didn't stand in the mirror and put these things on to look good in her husband put them on her because in public that man wanted to flaunt his glory in the face of all the earth that this is my wealth and I show it to you I show it to you by my wife the Egyptians of the Israelites quickly adapted to the look of the Egyptians they adapted when they got a little gold they got some gold they quickly adapted to the nature of the Egyptians they did not consider that God had given them this wealth because God would ask for a tabernacle to be erected that He could come down and fellowship with them this gold was not given so that they could put it on themselves that they could be viewed as wealthy but this gold was given that they could build a tabernacle but they took on the Egyptian nature they took on the nature of the Egyptians and now Aaron proves his lack of leadership when verse 3 and all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears and brought them unto Aaron and he received them at their hand and fashioned it with the graving tool after he had made it a molten calf and they said these be thy gods O Israel which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt now watch what happens Aaron where did he where did he come up in his mind to make a golden calf it's easy to know that that's what he saw in Egypt they saw the false gods of Baal they saw the false gods that were represented as calves and when asked to make a god Aaron fashioned one like what he had seen now it is not a day for the church to be going backward it is not a day it is not a day for us to be going backward regressing it is a day for the church who is on the Lord's side it is a day for the church to be going forward not regressing now these Israelites they ask and Aaron makes them a golden calf and then the people made a proclamation these are our gods that brought us out of Egypt verse number 5 and when Aaron saw it he built an altar before it and Aaron made proclamation and said tomorrow is the feast is the feast of the Lord now watch this please watch this because now we have an emblem of Egypt a golden calf but Aaron knows something's wrong here yeah something's wrong it's not that the calf is missing something it's that the calf shouldn't be there at all but Aaron says something's missing this is to Egypt like for us we need to bring something that would remind us of God and so the Bible says that Aaron built an altar before it you see the scenery don't you golden calf and altar Egypt the world Egypt and the world he builds this altar and made a proclamation and said tomorrow is a feast unto the Lord it's a worship service tomorrow we're going to worship with Egypt in our view and with God in our view we're going to be a little Egyptish in a little Jehovah-ish we're going to be alike we're going to be like Egypt not quite Egypt and we're going to be a little like God not quite ish they rose up early in the morning the morrow got there verse 6 and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings and the people sat down to eat and to drink and rose up to play and the Lord said unto Moses now let me stop there for a moment they brought their offerings they brought their sacrifices they sat down to eat and to drink and then to play because worship good or bad will always affect how you live worship good or bad will always affect how you live that's why we cannot allow our music and our singing to be become our dominant factor of our church because you just don't want to stir people up and leave them without a word music was intended to stir us up so that the word could come in because tomorrow it's not going to be and they know how I feel about you they know I love music they know I love singing I love our praise I think I'm a pretty good praiser around here I know that may know I'm not talking about God thinks I'm a guy I think I'm pretty good praise around here right I'm not one of these I'm not one of these guys that sits on the platform and balances his checkbook and picks a fuzz off his socks and waits till it's his time to get up to bat and then he wants everybody to go bonkers you know I believe we ought to worship God but I believe we ought to worship God because it opens up our hearts to receive God's word we'll get a bunch of people together and get them stirred up music wise and then don't give them word or what you give them is not truth because tomorrow's lifestyle is always based on yesterday's worship if I can worship God so they they worship but they sat down to eat and to drink and they rose up to laugh they rose up to the flesh they are fleshly they are fleshly they are fleshly driven now that's the sight at the bottom of the hill that's the site where a leader does not have the backbone to stand up that's the site where the people have come and asked a gifted orator to lead them and there you have it but up on top of the mountain verse 7 and the Lord said unto Moses go get thee down for thy people watch how God even talks God doesn't even refer to him as His people He said go go get thee down for thy people which thou brought us out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves they have turned quickly aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them and they have made them a molten calf and have worshiped it and have sacrificed there unto and they said these be thy gods O Israel which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt and the Lord said unto Moses I have seen this people and behold it is a stiff neck people hard to turn them stiff-necked now therefore let me alone now you gotta you gotta get this now this is God and Moses talking God is saying to Moses you leave me alone you leave me alone leader you you you leave me alone leave me alone He said you leave me alone let my wrath that my wrath may wax kindle hot against them then I may consume them and I will make of thee a great nation let's stop here for a moment look at the conversation God this God that we worship the night this God Andrew this God that does not change let's don't try to change Him He's this God that does not change this God is so sick at what He sees out of a delivered people He is so sick of what He sees out of these 2 million these 2 million Hebrews that He's brought out of the horrible state of bondage He is so sick that He just tells Moses leave me alone sounds like sounds like that Moses had already been talking to God and kind of telling God oh God be merciful with them oh God remember them oh God help them oh God help them now listen to me tonight you better always keep you better than an orator you better always keep you a man between you and God that's asking God to remember you you better keep a man in your life that forget about if he's a good what's good what what is a what is a good orator what is a good communication what is what is something like that when he's leading you to take on Egyptian forms of worship leave me alone quit calling their names leave me alone let my wrath just boil let the heating of my wrath I want to consume them and watch what He says at the very end of verse number 10 and I will make of thee a great nation Moses I'll take you I'll take you and I'll make a great nation listen to this leader and Moses besought the Lord his God and said Lord why does thy wrath wax hot against thy people which thou hath brought forth out of the land of Egypt with thy great power with a mighty hand wherefore should the Egyptians speak and say from mischief did he bring them out to slay them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth turn from thy fierce wrath and repent of this evil against thy people listen this is a man talking to God this is Moses talking to God He says God do You know what will happen if You kill them all do You know what will happen if You come down with Your fire and just kill them all the world will look at this and say what a sorry God this is that brought them out just to do them mischief God don't You know that they'll say they had better lives in Egypt than they did charred on this mountain can I tell you church truly living for God puts no thought of wanting to go back to Egypt in your mind if you have thoughts of going back check the needle of your heart and make sure you're running on full and that's the only way that you could ever want to go back to Egypt is to not be living in the fullness of the Spirit of Almighty God could we just thank Him for a moment could we just lift our hands for a moment just thank God all over this place who is on the Lord's side I'd say people with their hands up right now is on the Lord's side can we just lift up our voice and begin to call out on God who is on the Lord's side I would say that man or that woman right now that is verbally saying God I love You God I need You oh God who is on the Lord's side who is on the Lord's side verse 13. remember Abraham Isaac and Israel now this is still Moses and God talking He said don't You remember Abraham Isaac and Israel Thy servants to whom Thou swarest by Thy own self and said unto them I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed that they shall inherit it forever now watch what Moses does I'm going to tell You something friend don't You ever don't You ever underestimate the value of our Abraham Isaacs and Israels don't You ever don't You ever don't You ever underestimate don't You ever just blow that off because many times it's only because not your behavior that got You a blessing or got You some mercy but it may have been your father mother grandparents great-grandparents that you didn't your behavior did not merit God giving You any mercy but God looks back a generation or two and sees a grandparent or a parent in a prayer room somewhere lifting up their hands praising God and God says to an angel I need You to go do X Y Z for them and the angel might say well they don't deserve it and God said You're mighty right they don't deserve it but one day is with the Lord is a thousand years and just yesterday their great-great-grandparent was in a prayer room calling on Me and because of them Moses s Abraham Isaac and Israel Thy servants you know who they are You promised in verse 14 and the Lord repented of the evil which He thought to do unto this people thank God for Moses thank God for Moses thank God for the intercessor Dad tonight you're the intercessor of your family Mother tonight you're the intercessor for your family young man young woman you could be the very one that turns your whole family around this evening thank God for the intercessors tonight thank God for the young man that's the only one serving God in his entire family doesn't use it as an excuse not to be dedicated but he keeps on praying and keeps on praying until his mama comes in and his daddy comes in and his sisters come in and when it's all said and done somewhere God says it was all because of an intercessor that's why some of you are fighting the battles you're fighting right now all hell is against you all hell is fighting against you you are the kingpin you are the one that's holding that family spiritual future in place and hell knows it and that's why you're being fought the way you're being fought verse 15. Moses turned and went down from the mount and the two tablets of this testimony were in his hand the tablets or the tables were written on both their sides on the one side and on the other were they written what Moses had in his hand Moses had freedom in his hands Moses had freedom in his hands he had Israel's life their freedom in his hands he comes down from the mountain with their freedom in his hands when Joshua verse 17 when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted he said unto Moses there is a noise of war in the camp and he said it is not the voice of them that shout for mastery neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome but the noise of them that sing do I hear Joshua's a young man Joshua is not really developed a lot in his leadership ability he hears this noise and he says there's a battle going on Moses that keen leader he's not much of a communicator he doesn't have an eloquent voice that everybody he sues everybody when he speaks he's not a good communicator but he can't understand what noise is he says oh no young Joshua that's not the sound of a shout of a battle and that's not the sound of a shadow of people being defeated that's uh the voice of singing do I hear I hear the voice of singing too many people grade themselves and check themselves and think everything is okay just because they attend somewhere that has a song or somewhere that has a shout out it's going to take more than a shout to make you live free takes the word He said these are people singing I hear the I hear the voice singing is what I hear it came to pass as soon as he came nigh into the camp that he saw the calf Moses eyes is fixed on the world he sees the reminder of Egypt and the dancing and Moses anger waxed hot he cast the tables out of his hands and break them beneath the mount I've read a lot of criticism here on Moses I've read that he lost it I read that he he should not have done this but I choose to get on the side what good is it to have life if you're trying to preach it to people who have Egypt you spin your wheels you spin your wheels trying to get a book of life into the minds of a people of Egypt it would be better for this to be broken than for me to labor trying to get them to hear this word get the scenery now Moses throws the tablets the ten commandments their life their liberty he throws it and it breaks the Bible says he took the calf which they had made he didn't ask permission he didn't ask for permission he didn't run a poll he didn't get among a few folks and said hey what you think if I just kick down that calf there can I tell you that men that are called to God know what it'll cost to get victory into our lives and we've got to get Egypt out of our hearts we've got to get the world out of our hearts he took the cap which they have made and burned it in the fire and ground it to powder and strew it upon the water and made the children of Israel drink of it he he understood that I've got to get rid of it but these people need a little bitter taste of what they've got he put that gold powder in water and made him drink and as it was gritty and I've even read some some commentaries that believe they all died they they died from this he was trying to get them to see Egypt is a bitter pill to swallow Egypt is a bitter pill to swallow Moses said unto Aaron let's go to the class down verse 21 Moses said unto Aaron what did this people unto thee that thou has brought so great a sin He says to Aaron He says what in the world did they do to you what in the world did they promise you that you have brought a great sin upon them listen to Aaron now this gets good this really gets good and Aaron said letting off the anger of my Lord wax hot thou knowest the people that they are said and they are set on mischief I'm going to tell you something if we listen to the Aarons of today we'll begin to believe that no one wants to live holiness anymore a young woman was interviewed the other day in New York City she said I I wanted to put a t-shirt on that had an American flag I said as I put the t-shirt on knowing that I would go down the street said I became a little concerned if my flag on my shirt wouldn't be offensive when I heard that report how in the world could an American flag how in the world could an American flag the symbol red white and blue the symbol of our nation the land of liberty and freedom the home of the brave the land of the free hound the world could someone see the American flag as offensive I don't know but they do to where this woman not in communist Russia not in some third world country but in the good old United States of America a young girl won't wear a shirt with American flag lest it be thought offensive when I heard that I had another thought that came to that it's called the word holiness the word holiness sometimes sends shouts of joy through some people's backbone but there are those who want to be apostolic but they don't want that word mentioned just keep that whole holiness wrapped up keep it to yourself you're liable to offend somebody if you tell them how they ought to live if you tell them how they ought to dress if you tell them how they ought to talk if you tell them where they ought to go to and you're liable to be offensive well let it be offensive but without holiness no man will see the Lord I was recently told I won't share with no one other than maybe the person may be watching tonight that told me about
This but they referred to a certain pull, a certain platform, and they said it's a safe place. I thought, well, I thought all of our platforms were safe places. And he kept talking about, you know, they've just got the reputation that's a safe place there, that's a safe place, it's a safe place. And so, you know, it was kind of reminded me of the time that Brother Erickson was teaching the young people on public displays of affection, you know, PDA. That's it. He didn't say public display. He gets me. They were doing a little youth deal and he said, Brother Carpenter, he said, could you talk to us about PDA? PDA, PDA, PDA, PDA. Well, PDA. Well, and finally he knew that he said, public displays of affect. Oh, okay. Well, when this person kept talking to me, this is a safe, this place is a safe place, and the preachers that they choose to, the preachers they choose to to speak here are safe. It's a safe place. And of course, I didn't want to appear too, too, uh, a hiki from mystique, and I just kind of, you know, just kind of us, you know, you know, do they have rails on their platform? I don't know what, you know, uh, they they have little strips of, uh, uh, non-slide on their pla. And so finally he told me, he said, oh, you know what it is, Brother Carpenter? He said, you know, you're not going to hear anything controversial. I said, well, like what would be controversy? He said, you know, like holiness. Can I tell you that's not a safe church at all? That's not a safe place at all. That's not a safe place at all. A church that doesn't have a holiness is like a country that doesn't have any laws. A church that doesn't have any holiness is like a country without laws. Thank God. Aren't you thankful that you're in a church? It takes something to be a Sunday school teacher. It takes something to be an usher in this church. Not just anybody can stumble in and say, I want to sing in the choir. It takes who is on the Lord's side. Aaron said, let that knock the anger of my Lord. Whacked hot. Let me paraphrase a little bit. You know what day it is? We don't do that stuff anymore. The people will never accept that kind of preaching. I guess I'm going back on memory lane, but a person started attending this church and their former pastor asked them, saw them out in town. He doesn't live here in this city, so just remove that from your minds. I will tell you where that pastor is, somewhere between here and Vietnam. And he met the person and he said, you're going to Carpenter's? See, that's where I'm going. He said, man, how do you go there and put up with XYZ that's going on? And he looked at his former pastor and said, well, you used to preach it. See, you used to preach the same thing they believe over there in that church. Folks, listen to me tonight. I'm not here to bash anybody. I'm just here to ask a question. And I'm not standing on the street corner. I'm here in the church. Who's on the Lord's side? Who's on the Lord's side? We got some Egypt stuff going on, and we got a little mixture of this. I'm just going to stand here and ask you, who's on the Lord's side? Who's on the Lord's side? Are you on the Lord's side?
Verse 23, for they said unto me, now the communicator is talking to the leader. He said, now the people said to me, verse 23, for they said unto me, make us gods which shall go before us. Now notice this, they're not wanting to go back to Egypt. They're wanting to go forward, but they don't want to go forward with the message or messenger and message that brought them to where they're at. They said, make us gods. Now Moses, Aaron's talking to Moses, telling him what's happened. Which shall go before us. For as for this Moses, little, little twins, a little, a little pinch of disrespect. For as of for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we walk not. What is become of him? We don't know where he's at. Can I play with this verse for a moment? The Old Testament was saying, we don't know where he's at. In the New Testament, Egypt is saying, we don't know where he's coming from. Where's he coming from with this? Does he know I'm here at church? Doesn't he know? Where's he coming from? Where's he coming from with this? And I said unto them, watch this now, this really gets good. And I said unto them, whosoever hath any gold, let him break it off. So they gave it me. Then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf. What about that? What about that? What about that? Folks, Aaron, don't try to pull one over on Moses. We have a new day, and it's throat and fire. Here come out, came out this calf. And when Moses saw that the people were naked, for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies. Now, verse 25, right there, you want to dig into that. So no naked? What? That just means without clothes. Yes. But no, Brother Nolan, it means without restraints. Aaron had made them without restraints. Oh, who doesn't want to follow Aaron? I like Aaron. He doesn't have any restraints. Aaron lets us do whatever we want to do. Aaron lets us do. Aaron does it. Aaron, Aaron loves us. No, he doesn't. Aaron doesn't love you. Moses loves you because what you didn't know was up there on that mountain was a God that was getting ready to roast you. What you don't know, there was a God up there that held your breath in his hand, and the only thing between you and death was a Moses saying, God, don't do it. God, don't do it. When the world takes the restraints off you, and you fall in love with those leaders, you fall in love with them. Oh, they relate to me. Oh, they understand me. Oh, I feel so good after I go there. You don't understand. It's a false way of worship. It's a false way of living for God. And and somehow the the world will demonize a convictional pastor. A world will demonize parents that say we've got a curfew. The world will demonize. They've even demonized parents that properly discipline and spank their children. They demonize them. They'll demonize a mother that'll say, young lady, you're not going out of this house dressed like that. They'll demonize a daddy that'll say, young man, don't you raise your voice to me. Don't you speak to me like that, young man. And if we don't watch at church, we will fall prey to that, and we'll fail to be the leaders at God. Come on, let's just worship God. I think we're entertaining the Holy Ghost right now. I think we're entertaining the Holy Ghost right now. Come on, come on. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Lord, take God, take false condemnation off of parents tonight. God, deliver parents of false condemnation because they've walked upright and they've had some laws in their home and they've had some laws in their life. God, deliver parents tonight from false condemnation. Lord, parents that are sitting here that have children that's out in the world, and the devil would like to tell them it's because of the church that they're out there. God, deliver that parent. If that child's got any hope of coming home at all, it's because of what they were taught. Moses saw how unrestrained they were. The Message Bible, the Message Bible says it this way, Moses saw that the people were simply running wild. Aaron had let them run wild, disgracing themselves before their enemies. The in the NLT version says, Moses saw that Aaron had let the people get completely out of control, much to the amusement of their enemies. Can you say amen? Oh, my friend, tonight, Moses, when Moses saw, when Moses saw, he saw what that the people were naked, for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies. Moses, Aaron had made them ashamed, had taken away and taken away the restraints, had taken away their restraints. Moses had made themselves. Moses saw that the people without restraint. Linger in the Lord just for a moment. Could we just, could we just linger in the presence of God? Let's consider tonight a church with no restraints. Let's consider tonight a church with no boundaries. Let's consider what leadership would look like and doctrine if any. Come on. Could we just, could we just meditate on that for a moment? Could we just meditate upon that for a moment? Oh God, I need you tonight. Would you just pray with me right now? I feel, I feel the Lord touching right now. I feel the Lord, I feel the Lord touching us right now. Mighty God, mighty God, mighty God, mighty God. I feel the Lord touching us right now. I feel the Lord touching us tonight. And Moses saw that the people were naked, they were unrestrained, for Aaron had made them. No man can serve two masters. No man could serve two masters. Saddest verse in the Old Testament. And the people did that which was right in their own eyes. Cross-reference that with, there is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end, the end is the ways of death. Young boy, where you going? Well, I've got my suitcase packed. Where you going? I'm going down to a far country because I'm going to be free. I don't like the structure. Why are you leaving? I don't like the structure of my father's house. There's a curfew. There's things that are required of me, things I don't understand, things that I simply have to be submitted to and go along with. Ah, I got the wind in my fist. I'm going down to a country with no restraints. Check in on him a little later. Boy, what are you doing? I'm feeding the pigs. Can't you see, mister? Feeding pigs. Isn't that the lowest of the lowest? To the loss you can do? Yes, it is. But it's the only way I can make a living because I'm just trying to survive. Young boy, where you going? You know, Billy McCool gonna tell me who today. You know, Billy McCool gonna tell me what skating rink and when I go to the straightening rink and when I don't go to the skating rink, and who I date and who I don't date. You know, Billy McCool gonna tell me that. Come on, Kenny, you ought to go with me tonight. It's all Christian night, governor skating rink on Clinton Highway. Can go, won't go. Why? Because we can only go to the skating rink when the church rents the skating rink. That's the only time we're allowed to go. Oh, oh, really? That's what I was brought up on. What I was brought up on. Don't mean to brag on myself tonight, but I turned out pretty good. I think. Don't you know in my mind as I'm getting ready for a Wednesday night Bible study, and he's getting ready to go skating, don't you know there wasn't a little bit of the 17-year-old boy, the 18-year-old boy that would have locked and went to the skating rink that night and still the Bible study? Something told me, just keep on listening to Moses. Just keep on trusting in Moses because a few years from now, that so-called freedom my brother thought he had would get him incarcerated. And that so-called restraints that he cast off of that old narrow-minded preacher, that old narrow-minded preacher that he couldn't relate to, have found himself hearing the jury say, we find Jerry Neil Carpenter guilty of murder in the first degree. And so for over three decades, he would serve time behind bars, never marrying, never raising a family, never developing a ministry. Now, you tell me, I'm glad my brother's out. I'm glad that he's doing good. But he would tell you this, if he had listened to the man of God, that he would have lived a life of much more freedom. You hear me tonight? I'm telling you, you better listen, and you better listen good. If you can shake yourself, this thing is winding up, the trumpet's about to sound. You better be on the Lord's side. You need to get on the Lord's side. Oh, help me, help me. Just for a few moments. If your musicians would just come for a moment. When Moses saw that the people were naked, unrestrained, for Aaron had made them naked unto their own shame among their enemies. Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said, Who is on the Lord's side? Who is on the Lord's side? Let him come unto me. Who is on the Lord's side? Let him come unto me. Who is on the Lord's side? Moses says. And the Bible says, and all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto them, unto him. And he said unto them, So you want to be on the Lord's side? So you want to be on the Lord's side? How many of you tonight, I doubt anybody will remain seated, but how many of you tonight would signify you want to be on the Lord's side by standing to your feet? Mother Tharp, and all due respect to you, would you please be seated tonight? I know you want to stand, but I'm asking because I'm going to talk for a few more moments. All right, I want you to be seated there for a moment. So you want to be on the Lord's side? So you want to be on the Lord's side? Yes. Don't you see me standing? That's the easiest thing you'll ever do. But I want you to look at me for a moment. When every person look at me for a moment, there will come a price to be on the Lord's side. You won't be on the Lord's side by the cheapness of just standing in a public building. I'm on the Lord's side. Look at me. I'm on the Lord's side. You want to be on the Lord's side? It comes with a price. Moses said, Who is on the Lord's side? Let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, put every man his sword by his side. You want to be on the Lord's side? Andrew, put your sword on. Get your word out. You want to be on the Lord's side? Get a sword by his side and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp and slay every man his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. Look at that. You want to be on the Lord's side? Are you willing to kill your physical brother's influence in your life over it? Are you willing to kill your physical brother's influence over your life? Because let me tell you something, I battle enough with me living for God, then to import some help from somebody else in that's going to pull me the other direction. There may be some friends. You want to live for God. You want to be on the Lord's side, young lady. There may be some other young ladies that you have to say, hey, listen, y'all going to listen to this music right here? I won't be going after with you. Y'all going to sit here and tell all kind of off-colored, filthy jokes? I'm telling you, I'm not that kind. I'm on the Lord's side. I'm going to kill that influence in my life. I'm going to kill that influence in my life. He said, you want to be on the Lord's side? Take your sword and kill your brother. Take your sword and kill the influence of your companion. Listen to that. How many people have we witnessed through the years live for God until their mate decided not to live for God? So that's mighty easy for you to talk about, Brother Carpenter. That's right. And I hope to God I never live a day without her physically here with me or without her spiritually here with me. But God, if she would decide to walk out on me tonight, my only help would be to walk on with the Lord, to walk on with the Lord, to walk on with the Lord. Oh, walk on with the Lord. Walk on with the Lord. God with the Lord. Some of you women are not praying and you're using an excuse, my husband doesn't pray. You gotta pray. You gotta. Your pray. Who is on the Lord's side? Who's on the Lord's side? When Moses got through with him that day, they were less in number, that they were more powerful in their influence. When Moses got through with them that day, they were ready to march on to victory. Who is on the Lord's side tonight? Could we spend just a couple of moments? If you'd like to come up around the altar, you can. If there's any that would like to go ahead and slip out due to the crowd, you'd like to slip out without having to go through the crowd, you can be dismissed at this time. But is there anyone that would like to put your mask on and come down and stand around the altar for a few moments? God, I want to be on your side. God, I want to be on your side. I may have to kill the influence of a brother. I may have to kill the influence of a companion. I may have to kill the influence of the neighbor around me. But oh God, I want to be on your side. Lord, I want to be on the side of pride. I want to be on the side of you, Lord. Ready for the rapture? Ready for the rapture? Ready for the coming? Ready for the coming of the Lord? I don't want this world. I don't want anything to do with this world. I don't want anything to do with this music. I don't want anything to do in this fashion. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Oh. Oh. We can. Huh? Our eyes. I've drawn a line. Great. Years ago, we had the church was on the radio station here in town, and I had to make it was in that time. I made cassette tapes. I know I'm, I'm dating myself tonight. There was something called a cassette tape, and I would, I could, I could get so many programs at that time. Our radio program was called The Keys to the Kingdom, and I could get so, I could use several tapes. We had for many reasons, we had to reuse tapes. But how will you reuse tapes? There was a little machine, there's a magnet. You turned it on, you took that tape, you just waved that magnet machine, and they just remove all of that, just remove it all, and I can use it. Let us ask the Holy Ghost tonight to come to our minds. Just take out of our minds. Satan comes in through music. Comes in through music. He does. He comes in through music. Satan comes in through entertainment, television. You got to make sure that what you're letting come back into here is not hindering you from living for God. Who is on the Lord's side? Well, I think you can listen to both. No man can serve two masters. You're either gonna love the music of the world, or you're gonna love the music of God. But you're not gonna love them both. Oh, Holy Ghost. Oh, Holy Ghost. Has come to our minds right now. Because of COVID, we've not really asked for laying on our hands, but I'm gonna ask you not to put your own hands on your forehead right now. God, cleanse our minds. God. Oh God. Come on.
