Well, a warm welcome to this talk. Now, I was working in Africa recently and I was able to get hold of some ivermectin, and I want to talk about this because I get so many inquiries about ivermectin. It's based on a natural bacterial product. It won the Nobel Prize in 2015, Santos Mororrow and William Campbell. And yet, this is a drug that seems to be completely suppressed. In fact, Keep Pierre Cory wrote a whole book on it called "The War on Ivermectin."
So why is it that people have such a downer on ivermectin? It's one of the world's safest drugs. There have been some adverse effects reported from it, but it's because it kills parasites so effectively, and when you kill lots of parasites all at the same time, it lets kind of the inside out of the parasites, and they can cause toxicity. So it's like injecting yourself with mushed-up dead parasite. But it just shows how effective ivermectin is.
Anyway, let me show you the product I obtained in in Uganda. Uh, it's this one here. Um, so this is just this particular preparation of ivermectin. Well, no, it's all the same preparation. It's just many different manufacturers, and this one is from, uh, manufactured in India, which do make excellent pharmaceuticals. Um, this is what you call a generic pharmaceutical. So it's off-license, and Indian manufacturers, um, who've got very good manufacturing facilities, can make huge amounts of it for essentially nothing.
Now, this is the one I had. Um, this is the one I had before. Um, this one, again, another Indian manufacturer. I don't know what's happened to all these tablets here. It's nearly finished, look. But anyway, it's a 12-milligram dose there. But here's the one I've just obtained now. Um, in terms of cost, um, this, so you see you get these boxes, and it's got, uh, it's got 10 strips of 10 in it, and, uh, we see that they are, go in a bit, um, ivermectin 12-milligram tablets. Yeah, 12-milligram tablets. Um, so, um, here I've, I've got 100 tablets. This 100 tablets, this box of 100 tablets cost, um, $20. So, in other words, that's, uh, is that 20 cents a tablet? I think it's 20 cents a tablet. Anyway, $20 for the whole box. Um, so each strip is $2. $2 for 10. Uh, that's how much it should cost. Now, that's from a pharmacy. They, they've got to make their profit.
Now, the bizarre thing is, um, that this product actually comes from India, then to Africa, and then it's come to me. So, it's gone around the world a bit. Um, but that's how much it costs. Um, $2 for a 10-strip of, um, 12 milligrams of ivermectin.
Now, in terms of use, there's no question in my mind this is effective against COVID. And, uh, Professor Clancy has used it for a few years now in long-term post-vaccine injury where there appears to be long production of spike protein. Does it work against other viral infections? We don't really know. The trials haven't been done. But of course, the big question is, does it work against cancer?
Now, hundreds of you have emailed in saying that ivermectin, sometimes with fenbendazole or albendazole, sometimes on its own, is effective or has been effective in your experience against a range of cancers. I don't know. There are no trials, but you've sent in hundreds of reports where you feel it's been beneficial in cancer. So obviously, this is an interesting possibility. We need to find out.
Now, ideally, we'd have a large-scale randomized multicenter double-blind control trial. That's not going to happen because people can't make any money out of, uh, a generic drug. The Indians can make it up remarkably cheaply, and there's no money for Big Pharma or other vested elite interests in that. So that's not going to happen. So how are we going to find out if this is effective against cancer or not?
Well, given that this drug is quite safe, I feel it should be available, uh, for, for on a "right to try" basis. So anyone with cancer should have a right to try this drug. The situation we're in at the moment is we have drugs which may or may not be effective against cancer. We don't know. But hey, you're not going to find out if you've got cancer. Go away and die quietly because you can't try this. British doctors won't prescribe it to you, or unless you can find some that do, of course, but generally they follow the guidelines. It's not in the NICE guidelines, so it's probably not going to be done. So, people aren't allowed to try it.
But if this drug was made generally available as compassionate prescribing, or even over-the-counter on pharmacist discretion, but certainly for compassionate prescribing, then I suspect that tens of thousands of people with cancer, especially cancers that haven't responded to other forms of treatment, would want to try this. But at the moment, they're not allowed to.
But if thousands of people tried it, tens of thousands of people tried it, then very soon there you've got your cohorts. So it would be quite easy for researchers to match people with a particular type of cancer. Say someone's got lung cancer of a particular type. You could match those with someone else who's got lung cancer of a particular type. One person with lung cancer of a particular type chose to take ivermectin. I don't know, 24 milligrams a day, six days a week, five days a week, whatever. Um, no one quite knows what the best protocol would be. It could be 24 milligrams a day, every day for the first six weeks, followed by 24 milligrams a day, five days a week, and two days off. We, we, we don't know, but different people would try different things. So, this information could be prospectively collected. It wouldn't be a randomized double-blind control trial, but when we had sufficient numbers, good statistics could be done on that. Uh, matched pairs can be generated. People that chose to take ivermectin, people that chose not to take ivermectin, and we could find out if this drug's good for cancer or not.
At the moment, we simply don't know, which seems a pity given that the downsides of it are, there's virtually a safe drug. Although, of course, no drug is completely safe. But that is not being done. And to me, this is a complete travesty. You know, the whole point of medicine is, is, or any, any science is, someone says, "Oh, that's interesting. Let's follow that up. Let's get some evidence for that." Nothing. Nothing. It's almost as if the British government isn't interested in ivermectin as a potential cure or management strategy for cancer. Why won't the nanny state allow us to find out?
So I appeal to the Secretary of Health. Please make ivermectin available, preferably over the counter, but certainly on compassionate prescribing by any GP to any patient that wants it so we can find this out. If you don't do this, if you don't do this, politicians, I accuse you of curiosity deficit disorder, which is the antithesis of the way science works. Now, people in the comments may accuse you of much worse things than that. It's a family show, so I won't say any more.
Now, I get emails, comments from desperate people with cancer who want to try this but can't get hold of it. And they ask me, "Where did I get it from?" Well, I got, I, I got this from a pharmacist in Uganda where we normally buy our drugs as part of our medical projects in Uganda. I can't tell you where to buy it because I can't take responsibility for a supplier because they might supply the wrong thing. You, you see where I'm coming from? I, I, there's no point asking me where, where can I get it from? I can't tell you where to get it from. All I'm saying is I think the British government should allow this to be available so we could have prospective trials and adjudicate on efficacy for cancer or not in people that choose to try it.
Adults at the moment in the UK aren't allowed to choose what drug they take. Now, experimental vaccines can be conned onto them. Uh, but for a drug that, who knows, may or may not treat cancers, we're not allowed it, which just seems an appalling situation to me. So, that's my appeal to the Secretary of State for Health. Maybe I should forward him some of the heartbreaking emails and comments that are sent to me.
So, that's ivermectin. Another one that really, really annoys me is this. This, this is, this is, um, iodine. Um, where are we? Yeah, iodine. So this is, this is, I mean, I'm not, I have no interest in this particular preparation, but, but it's, um, well, it's the one I take, but at the moment, but I'm, I'm not, there's plenty of Lugol's iodine 15%. So this is Lugol's iodine 15%, developed by French physician Dr. Lugol in the 1820s, I think.
Now, iodine has been a staple of medicine for hundreds of years in concentrations of about 10 to 20 parts per million. Certainly not more than 20 parts per million. It will kill all viruses as far as I'm aware, or all viruses or bacteria or fungi infections. It will kill the lot. But you know what? If you're in the UK, you're not allowed it. You're not allowed it. British pharmacists do not sell iodine. They're not allowed to sell iodine. This has been the most basic therapeutic molecule for hundreds of years. And yet now in Britain, you're not allowed to buy iodine over the counter in British chemists.
Now, of course, when you were, when you were a child, um, certainly if you're my kind of age range, um, your mom would, um, put iodine on it every time you had an injury. Um, so, you just had, you had an injury, they just, you just put some on, you know, um, because it kills everything. Just put, put it on injured, injured skin, you know. We do all bit in hospitals. Uh, maybe poverty in iodide, not Lugol's solution, but it's the same thing as iodine. We'd all be all over the place to prevent infection in, in, in the skin, particularly. But now you can't buy this most basic of medical molecules in Britain. Why not? It kills everything. Why would you make illegal, as far as I know, the world's most effective antiseptic? Why, why would this be made illegal?
I mean, you know, it's good for urinary infections. It's good for respiratory infections. It's good for skin infections. If you've got a respiratory infection, you can gargle with it and let it, let the fumes go through. You know, it's very dilute, of course, but you would, but, but there again, you know, 20 parts per million, it will kill everything. If you drink it, it's excreted in the urine, and that's going to kill bacteria in the urinary tract. Why, why is this not allowed? It's essential for thyroid health and other glandular health.
So, I mean, I, I take it. I take a bit. So, um, I take it from a prostate. I don't know any specific evidence that it's good for your prostate, but I suspect it is. So, just like a, I take about maybe, I don't know, a 40th of a mill. Come on out. I should get one with a dropper, really. There you say, that's about what, that's about a 20th, 30th of a mill there. Just add a bit of, a bit of water with it. Not telling you what to do. Cheers. Tastes a bit like swimming pools because it's next to chlorine in the periodic table, or near chlorine in the periodic table. Yeah. Essential for glandular health. So, I'm hoping it's going to help with my, uh, prostate enlargement, which virtually all men of my age have.
Um, I also took, I actually took 12 milligrams of ivermectin a day for, uh, 7 weeks. I had no side effects at all. Um, the reason I did that was, um, I was diagnosed with a, uh, high PSA, prostate-specific antigen, and I was down to have an MRI scan to see if it was cancer or not. So I thought, well, my PSA is quite high. It was about 8-point-something, about 8.4, 8.3, just over eight, I think. So that was quite high, and, um, I thought, well, I could have prostate cancer. So I took 12 milligrams of ivermectin every day for 7 weeks, and it didn't change my PSA, and I thought, that's interesting. It hasn't changed my PSA. So, um, given it hasn't changed my PSA, um, that could mean I haven't got prostate cancer, because I thought if I had prostate cancer, it might be effective. I might be completely wrong about that, of course. Um, but I had my MRI scan, and thankfully I didn't have prostate cancer at that stage. Still hopefully still don't. Um, so it didn't change my PSA. So, is it any good for benign prostatic hyperplasia, like I had? No, didn't, in my case, it didn't seem to be. But if I had cancer of the prostate, it would have brought it down because many people have said that it would do. Again, we don't know because it's not available.
So, this should be available. So, ivermectin, potentially a completely breakthrough drug. Iodine, a preparation that's been used for hundreds of years with brilliant effect. There's an old saying in medicine, "When you know not the when and the why, give ye then the K and the I." K, potassium, I, iodine. Potassium because this contains iodine and potassium iodide. But you're not allowed it. So, if you'd like to gargle with iodine and you live in the UK, um, you're not allowed to buy it. British. Just have to let the viruses fester and cause more infection. Uh, you're not allowed it. Utterly, utterly bizarre. And we know this is effective against a wide variety of things. And yet you're not allowed to buy it in the UK. It's almost as if they're trying to keep us sick by denying us really basic medicines. In the case of iodine, something of proved efficacy for hundreds of years. And yet we're not allowed it. Expensive pharmaceutical drugs? Yes. Simple treatments like iodine? Oh, no, no, no, no. Way, way too dangerous. You children, you might hurt yourselves. And you wouldn't give children razor blades to play with, would you? I mean, stupid people like you and me, we don't know how to use iodine properly. Far too dangerous for us to play with. I genuinely do not understand what is going on in this control of, as far as I know, the world's best antiseptic, why you can't buy it.
Now, of course, online, this is readily available. I mean, as, as I say, I have no interest in this particular preparation. Uh, there's many available, um, many available. Um, and again, I'm not recommending any medical treatment. I'm not recommending any doses. Never start or stop taking any medication or any substance based on what you hear on this channel. This is for educational purposes only, and I also share my personal experiences.
So what the heck is going on that we're simply not allowed things that could be life-saving? In the case of iodine, are known effective treatments for many conditions, but we're not allowed them.
