Every single year when spring and summer comes around, we feel the exact same way. And we have the exact same regrets. We wish we started sooner. We wish we felt better. We wish we looked better. And by then, it is already too late.
So, if you want to learn how to actually transform, become unrecognizable before summer starts and unlock the hottest, highest, and healthiest version of yourself, this is the podcast for you. Welcome to today's episode of Hot and Unbothered.
>> [music] >>
Hello, beautiful people and welcome back to my podcast. If you are new here, my name is Brianna Gomez or you can call me Bri and I am your host of Hot and Unbothered, the ultimate place to be for anyone who wants to transform their life and become unrecognizable in any regard.
This episode, disclaimer, is not just about becoming prettier. It is not just about having only your dream body. It is about also how you feel inside, the confidence that you carry yourself with, the identity shift that comes with it, and then the physical stuff. Yes, that is such a plus. And that all follows when you are able to truly become unrecognizable from the inside out.
Glow-ups are only skin deep. The best way that you can truly glow up is to be able to rewire your mind, learn new perspectives, implement new ways to view yourself and your relationship with these glow-ups. That will be the game changer and that is how you're going to create glow-ups and transformations that actually make a difference and last.
And I know for some of you the weather might be still wintry, but spring is practically here if not right around the corner and it is sneaking up on us and so is summer. Every year when summer comes around, that's when you want to feel like your best self. You want to be on the beach getting your tan. You want to just be able to live freely and not feel self-conscious, not feel shame, not feel regret, not feel that seasonal depression that I know we have all been struggling with. And I'm so so proud of you for pushing through. Okay, we are at the finish line. We are almost through. You got this.
Spring is the only season where your body, your mind, your energy all want to change. This is the perfect window of opportunity for you to really lean into not just the season of spring, but lean into your body kind of wanting to transform and evolve into something new instead of holding on to what once was or hyperfixating and just dreaming about this person you want to be. Spring is when we are actually going to allow it to happen.
And I know some of us may not have accomplished all of our New Year's resolutions or we might have fallen off whatever trends or habits that we wanted to stick to. It's okay. I think personally spring is honestly a better time for that. If you're anything like me, we need to grant ourselves some grace during the winter time. January, February, those months honestly can be so so tough. Especially after the holidays, we're exhausted. We're recovering. Spring is when you give yourself that second wind. When you're like, "Okay, we're a few months into the new year. Enough playing around. I'm going to actually get down to it."
It's why I have so many actionable tips for you guys today along with a lot of perspective shifts. But before I dive in really quickly, you guys know I love to share a podcast review. Today I'm pulling one from YouTube. I read the comments everywhere. Okay, today we have one from Raina. She said, "Hi, Bri. My name is Raina and I'm 13 years old living in New Jersey. Life has been crazy lately, but you have been helping me get through it. Your planner has been the best source of organization ever. I love you so so much and watching you reminds me of a 2000's Lwoods princess. I love you."
I love you, Raina. That is so sweet. And yes, everyone get your Becoming Her planners. Honestly, this is the exact system that I use and have used for years when it comes to planning, setting my intentions, all that jazz for the entire week, month, year. And it helps me stay so on track. And this will be such a helpful tool in planning out how to become unrecognizable throughout the spring, throughout the summer, and even past that. So, highly recommend. And it's also undated. So, if you don't start it right away on January 1st, you still get a full 365 days, over 365 days actually, in this planner. Don't forget to rate the podcast five stars on Spotify and leave a review for the chance to be featured in next week's episode.
Now, if you're anything like me, this is not your first glow up episode. This is not the first challenge that you've tried. This is not the first research you've done. I feel like so many of us try every single season, every single year, maybe every single month to come up with some new way that we are going to stick to our goals and we're actually going to finally step into the version of ourself that we've been wanting to become.
The number one thing we're going to do right now is we are going to energetically cut this pattern that you may not even realize that you've been repeating. It is this pattern of glowing up temporarily for a few weeks, maybe a few months, maybe you did a whole year and then reverting back to our old self or even worse than our old self, right? A lot of us, we might peak and then we might backslide a little bit. And the question is, how are we going to have our spring summer glow up and then actually continue it throughout the year?
I know me, I've personally been in eras where I have just really felt my best. I feel like I'm thriving. I feel like I look the best I've ever have. I'm the most confident I've ever been. My mental health is at an all-time high and then suddenly next thing you know it just takes one little snap and I am back down to where I once was.
You need to realize that these physical routines and habits you are implementing will not last without a full identity shift. You need to no longer see yourself as this person who's trying this challenge, this girl who's implementing this new habit. You need to view yourself as the kind of person who does these things. And when it comes to spring and summer, oftentimes it's viewing herself as the kind of girl who takes care of herself, her body, her mental health, who does her routines no matter what other factors get in the way, not just the girl who's like, "Okay, I'm going to try really hard for 7 days straight to go to the gym and drink water and eat right and tan."
That may in the moment feel easier and more attainable because it's a short-term goal, but in actuality, you are making it harder on yourself because you aren't building a lasting image of who you want to be. You are just clinging on to a temporary satisfaction. So, I need you to know that motivation does not last, but self-concept does. Your self-concept is essentially how you view yourself and knowing that regardless of how anyone else sees you, you know who you are at your core, the kind of worth that you have, the kind of habits you maintain, just the value that you hold yourself to and the standard that is what is going to last because the short-term motivation when you see a girl on your for you page do the 75 hard challenge is not going to be the same effect as when you decide, you know what, I'm not doing just some challenge. I'm the kind of girl who lives a lifestyle with intention and who wants to not only look good, but feel good and take care of my body with longevity.
You don't just rise to your goals, you fall back on who you actually are. So, yes, you can climb the ladder, but eventually we get tired. No matter who you are, you could be Steve Jobs. You could be Billy Eilish. You could be Queen Elizabeth. Every single one of us, whatever goals they are, we all have to take a step down sometimes. We all fall back at times. And yes, rising to your goals is so important. But you know what's even more important? What you fall back on? When you fall back off that ladder, where are you going to land?
Because if you are still holding on to that image of yourself that is the worst person ever, who does not take care of themselves, who doesn't deserve any grace or doesn't have any peace in their life, that's who you're going to come back down to. But if you view yourself as someone who is high value, who does care about their body, even if they fall short some days, they still care about their body, they still love themselves. That is who you're going to come back down to. So focus on building your self-concept and your overall image of yourself, not just physically, but mentally, because that is going to be the fuel that keeps your body running during whatever habits you may be trying to implement for your summer glow-up.
And let me be so incredibly clear. I know that a lot of people who listen to my podcast like glow up based content because I see it. I see the numbers on my channels and on others for how to be hot, how to be that girl, how to glow up instantly in 30 days. Yes. And I've been so guilty of creating that kind of content because I know that people like it and I do have a lot to say about it and I even at some point found it so exciting. But just know that it all means nothing if you're only focused on the physical.
And I've been so convicted of like, how do I go about making this content? I know you guys like it. And I've been honestly on a mission, I don't know if you've realized, to create meaningful, deep, intentional content. I am not trying to just talk about the fluffy stuff. I'm not just trying to talk about only physical habits. I am so convicted of like I need to talk about stuff that is just deeper than surface level. Okay? The world is so shallow. The last thing you need is to listen to a podcast of a shallow creator who only wants to tell you how to look good temporarily and to not actually feel good and build something that's going to last. And that is why I haven't done a glowupbased video or episode in so long. And it's because there is so much more to it than that. So that's why this is about how to become unrecognizable. And we are not just talking the physical. However, how you treat your body with intention, love, and care, and the things that you put into it, not just food, but the effort, the mindsets, that is what's going to make you ultimately look good in a lasting way.
You know, the reason why those videos have so many views of the people who want to glow up and become that girl, it's because people have to keep coming back to them because it doesn't last. You know what I'm saying? So, my goal with this episode is to yes, like you are going to look better, but not only that, you're going to feel better and it's going to hopefully make a difference and shift your identity into someone who just identifies as their highest self.
But anyway, my encouragement for you is that you can achieve your goals and not only are you going to rise to them, but you are actually going to grow and stay up with them. Spring is the season of blossoming. It's a season of growth. It's the season of also shedding the old and making room for the new. And that is why I am so excited because it's the perfect time for you to be just listening to this episode.
Okay, I know there's so much that you can say about becoming unrecognizable. I could honestly go on forever and ever, but I decided I'm going to break it down into four pillars and it's going to be easy to remember. So that way next time you want to become unrecognizable, next time you want to level up your life, you can just ask yourself these four things and it'll break it down for you. So the four pillars are release, reflect, reset, and repeat. I will break down each one.
So, we're going to start with release. The number one thing I need you to know is that you need to stop hating whatever this past version or current version of yourself is that you are so ashamed of, that you are so embarrassed of, that is just weighing you down. Whatever it is inside of you that you are pushing down, the past version of yourself that you are trying to cover up, it's not going to leave that way. So, I need you to pull out, bring to the surface whatever it is about yourself that you are trying to hide. Maybe it is that you had a really messy past. Maybe it's that you feel like no one likes you. Maybe it's that you're super insecure. Maybe it's that you have body image issues. Maybe it's that you just don't feel like anyone likes you. It can be so many different things. Maybe you just don't like your aesthetic. It could be the silliest thing. Whatever it is that you are trying to hide from, it needs to come to the surface because if it's not at the surface, it's never going to leave.
And the first thing we have to do, and it's going to sound so cheesy, but this truly is the first step because we cannot bring in new and become someone else if we are clinging on to and pushing down the old, right? It has to leave somehow and we have to release it. We can't force it out. It's not about forcing growth. It's about welcoming it and making space for it. So, the number one thing you have to do is to forgive yourself. Forgive yourself for whatever it is that you hate yourself so badly for or for whatever it is you are so embarrassed of or guilty of or ashamed of. Shame is not from God. Number one, that is not from him because he forgives us. Okay? And shame will never make you grow. If there's one thing I want you to take with you, it's that shame will never make you grow. Hiding will never make you grow. You need something to see the light in order for it to blossom and in order for it to be set free.
So my encouragement for you is to even journal if you have to, but really work on releasing whatever these self-limiting beliefs that you are holding on to are. It can be that, oh well, I'll never be pretty. I'll never be able to wear a bikini at the beach, or I'll never be somebody who has a good friend group. I'm not worthy of a healthy relationship. I'll never be someone who's on the beach walking tan. Like it could be whatever you want that you are holding yourself back from. You're right. You'll never have it if you are clinging on to these negative self-limiting beliefs that you have for yourself.
And I need you to reassess your circle as well. People you've outgrown, situations you've outgrown that are no longer serving you. Look around at everything, not even just within, but around. Because if you want to fully become unrecognizable, you have to look at the people and the patterns that have been keeping you stuck as the exact same. Maybe you have old coping habits of avoidance or anxious attachment or overthinking. I know I definitely do. But you know what? My ideal version of my summer self does not. And I don't have to wait for it to be summer in order to stop doing those things because real growth starts now. And it starts with progress and baby steps. It's not going to be an instant fairy godmother's going to show up and wave her magic wand and everything's going to be perfect. You're going to have the summer bod, perfect relationship, perfect friendship. You're going to be on a beach in Tahiti. Like, as much as I would love, it requires some effort and some time and intention.
Number two is we are going to reflect. This is where the identity shift happens. So, I want you to reflect on what you want your dream life to look like. And maybe it's something that you feel like is so far away. Or maybe it's something you feel like is attainable. But I need you to realize that this version of yourself that you are creating in your head is still you. We often feel like it's this other person who is out of reach and we have to somehow spawn into becoming them or it's going to be some access that is magically granted to us or unlocked one day. You are already that person. And so my challenge for you is to decide who you are now and show up as her today. Don't wait for progress or for some sort of proof or permission in order to start acting as such.
So yes, make the vision boards, visualize it all, and ask yourself things like, what would my dream self's day-to-day morning routine and night routine look like? And then ask yourself, well, what's standing in the way between me and that? Because my dream version of myself, maybe she's waking up every day at 7 a.m. and she's spending the first hour of her day off her phone. She's drinking water, making a healthy breakfast, going on a walk, being really intentional, reading her Bible. Those are all things that every single one of us can do today. And maybe my night routine is, oh well, I would probably unplug my phone early and I would really focus on myself. I would journal, write in my planner, read my Bible again, stretch, watch the sunset. It sounds like such a dreamy utopian life. Every single one of us can do that right now. We put the space between us and our dream selves. You can start today.
Maybe you aren't living in the mansion that you want to live in. But don't focus on only the material. Focus on the intention behind it. Because if your heart is in the right place, it will lead you to where you need to be. Nothing that is meant for you will ever pass you by so long as you are being intentional with your actions. If you have the wrong reasoning for things like you just want a hot body, yeah, it won't last and it might not lead you to where you want to be. But if you actually focus on feeling good and feeling like your dream self, it will be so much easier to implement.
And something that I need you all to ask yourself, journal it, write it in your notes app, is what would the summer version of myself stop tolerating today? When a lot of us think summer, we're like, "Oh, that's so long from now. Everything's going to be so different. I'm gonna be so much better. I'm gonna be my highest, hottest, healthiest self, and I'm gonna be free from all the things that are holding me back." Well, what's not there? When you envision your summer self, your glownup, unrecognizable self. Imagine your day-to-day. Imagine your life. Imagine your priorities. What's not there? What is something that is in your current life within your current self that's not there? Maybe it's a person. Maybe it's a bad habit. Maybe it's someone who you really need to cut out. Maybe it's something that you really need to cut out. What would the summer version of myself not tolerate? I think that's such a great way to set boundaries within yourself and to really open your eyes to be like, "Wow, almost everything in my life could be perfect if it weren't for this one thing." Of course, perfect doesn't exist, but it could be a little more intentional and easy. So, really focusing on creating a strong image of who you want to be. And know this isn't just about Pinterest boards or identifying with a certain aesthetic, but it really is about having a clear vision of the kind of life that you want to live and what intentions live behind it.
The next step is to reset. This is one of my favorite steps and I'd say the most fun and fulfilling. This is when you get to almost entirely recreate every aspect of your life, even if it's just not in the physical quite yet, even in your head. And often times you'd be like, "How am I going to reset my entire life? How am I going to make everything different?" You'd be surprised at when you look and reflect on what you want to recreate and reset. How many things actually can be changed today?
Number one thing you want to reset is your habits. We are going to work on habit simplification because I know so many of you, especially if you've been stuck in the glow up brain rot loop. You might be trying the craziest habits. You might one week be trying to do a 75 hard type B and then the next week you might want to be doing a phone fast for the entire week, but then you get back on your phone for the entire week and you're just back at 72 hours of screen time. It's a lot. It is a lot. So instead of trying to incorporate new habits before you even actually build strong ones, focus on implementing like three core habits that you will actually stick to. And these core habits will be the backbone of your entire summer glow-up.
So I need you to replace the mindset of trying to make things harder with actually making it easier for yourself, which I know you might be like, how is that going to make me glow up if I start doing less? If you do less, you have room to improve more. And once you make those improvements and they last, then you can build upon that and you'll have more capacity to grow and implement more habits. But for starters, if you have not successfully accomplished any of your habits that you've been trying to implement, I truly encourage you to start small. I used to try to go to the gym 5 days a week and then if I missed one day, I wouldn't go for the rest of the week and I would just be so hard on myself if I weren't accomplishing all these goals. So instead of that, I challenge myself to walk maybe four to five days a week and then I'll get my workouts 3 days a week. And I know for some people you might be being like, "Well, I want to do more than that." Well, your progress is actually going to be greater if you can stick to those 3 days a week at the gym opposed to trying 5 days a week and then failing on week two.
Or maybe the habit you're trying to implement is to wake up at 5:00 a.m. every single day and you're failing on day two because you're so tired from day one. Why don't you first start small by waking up an hour earlier each day so you could work up to waking up at 5:00 a.m.? Or if you're trying to drink some crazy green protein juice smoothie every single night and it tastes bad and it gives you stomach issues and you're wasting all the ingredients and spoiling them because you're forgetting about your smoothie, maybe just try to drink a gallon of water a day for starters. And little core habits like that make the biggest difference.
There's core habits in what you sleep, right? Getting enough sleep. That is a huge habit. If you can get eight hours of sleep a night, you will be unrecognizable. Beauty sleep is completely real. When you are not having sleep, not only will you not look good, you will not feel good and people will not want to be around you. Okay? I learned that the hard way and that's something that I would say is my biggest struggle. So, I know better than anyone. When you don't sleep, you [snorts] are not good.
And there's the core habits of what you're putting in your body, right? You want to build strong core habits, but you want to start with things that are realistic. Yes, you can implement a whole new diet, but why don't you start by implementing a few core things first to make sure that you can ease into them and actually make them last. That way, you are building a core identity, not just, oh, I'm trying this new diet for a couple weeks. No, you are the kind of person who eats good full balanced meals that will last. And so, use these core habits that you choose, again, just a few, as your non-negotiables in your routine. So that way, even when you are having a really bad day, you have these few non-negotiables that you know you will do no matter what. Even if I'm having a lazy day, if I'm super sick, I know that I will chug my water. Even if I am super exhausted and I really want to sleep, I know that I will eat a good balanced breakfast.
I have another podcast episode on how to build habits that will actually last and how to actually stick to them. So, I highly recommend looking into that one after this one because it definitely will help build your summer glow up habits that will actually make a difference and not just be temporary blips in time.
And so, reset things like your workout routine. If there's something that you were doing that is clearly not working for you, you've been trying to do weightlifting every single week and you just don't like it, you don't enjoy it, you can't stick to it, now is the perfect time to reset. What is your dream version of yourself doing for fun exercise? Maybe they're going on a beautiful hike with the prettiest view. Maybe they do dance classes. Maybe they do kickboxing classes. Maybe they do yoga, pilates. There's so many other options. So using this time to really reset after you reflect will help you kind of figure out and analyze and make a game plan for what is actually going to work for you and open yourself up to the opportunity to try new things instead of clinging on to, you know, the idea that, oh well, I just try to lift weight 5 days a week because that's what I've always tried to do. Maybe now is the perfect time to try something else.
Another way to reset that will make the biggest difference is to do a deep clean and to reset your space. This is the perfect time. I know a lot of us have fun with moving your bed around, rearranging your room, changing things, maybe if you can, even just taking down decorations or decor that isn't serving you anymore and putting up something new. Getting fresh flowers. If you're watching on video, you can see these beautiful, beautiful lilies. I'm obsessed with them. My boyfriend got them for me for Valentine's Day. And I love pink lilies and pink roses. They're my favorite flowers of all time. And peonies. Anyway, that's not what this is about, but it's me encouraging you to get yourself some fresh flowers. And I think it's also inspirational because it's springtime and look at the flowers blooming and blossoming and know that like that's what you're doing too, okay? And again, just resetting maybe change your sheets or your throw pillows or your blankets again. Not just simply to romanticize, but also to feel like you're shedding things. I know for me, when I was living with a lot of stuff from my childhood room up, I felt like I was still a child. Like I felt like I was still that version of myself or when I had a lot of the decor up when I was in my kind of angsty feral era. I felt like I was kind of holding on to something like that. To so to be able to reset my space and I'm not saying spend a lot of money but even if it's like printing out a picture and putting it up or just rearranging things or taking old things down, it really does help make sure that you are up to date with the kind of person who you want to be. And they do say that your space and your environment is a reflection of what's going on internally. So make sure you are prioritizing that as well.
Again, the deep clean, the spring clean, it is a pruning season. Think spring, flowers, pruning. Pruning is taking things out of your life that no longer need to be there. And that does count for your space. Holding on to clutter is such an energetic thing. Holding on to things that are no longer serving you does go as far as things in your room. So, if it's old papers, if it's trash, if it's clothes that you've been waiting to wear, or maybe some sentimental thing, that hoodie from your ex that you've been hoarding, you don't need it. I love the Marie Kondo method of holding things and asking if it sparks joy. That is so good. And honestly, you'll find that if you touch something in your room, it probably won't spark joy. And so, there's a lot of space to be made. But I love it because this way when it's summertime and the weather's nice and you're opening your blinds, you're just laying back relaxing in the summer sun, you will have a beautiful, clean, spacious environment to come back to that just doesn't feel like it holds any weight. Like I know for me when I come in my room and I haven't reset or refreshed it in a long time, it feels heavy almost like it feels like it's just taking up a lot of space and there's not even really room for me in there.
And of course your wardrobe. So taking things out of your closet again, maybe stuff that doesn't fit you, stuff that doesn't look good on you anymore. That is a game changer. I feel like we mature so much between this summer and last summer and our styles can change, our priorities, our intentions can change. So you do deserve a closet and a wardrobe that is aligned with who you want to be. And I think it's so fun to just reflect on your dream style and the kind of things that you would wear if you were in your dream life. And this doesn't mean you have to buy all new things. You can even make things that you already have in your closet and just kind of restyle them to be more aligned with the style that you're desiring. Because what if I told you that your dream closet was probably already in your camera roll? Because I've totally been there where I'm standing in front of my full closet and I'm like, I have nothing to wear because the things in there just aren't aligned with the style that I want or what my dream self would wear.
I know in my last episode I talked about the Aaso site and they just launched a feature where you can upload outfits that you've already worn, whether it's from your Instagram or your camera roll and it restyles them for you. You can restyle the entire outfit or you can build new looks just taking pieces from the outfit or you could even remix it with mine. Because even with all things in life, it's not that we need more. We just need new perspective because it's not like you need a whole new wardrobe to become that higher version of you. Sometimes you just need to see what you already have differently. And I think that goes with literally every single thing in life. So you can upload like five outfits you've already worn and just play with it. And it's actually so cute. So if you remix any of your outfits or if you even mix it with mine, post it and tag me and ao.shop and one of you will be entered to win a $50 gift card because I really want to see what you guys come up with for your new spring summer wardrobes and just the ideal dream version of you.
And lastly for the reset is the nervous system reset. Some of you don't realize how overstimulated you are. And I know a lot of people use the word, "I'm overstimulated." No, babes. We're all over stimulated. And it's making us not hot. Over stimulation blocks glow-ups scientifically, metaphorically, in all the ways. Number one, like your stress levels, your cortisol, it will never be low. It will always be spiked. So long as we are taking in this high influx of information that we definitely do not need, we are intaking videos and videos and videos. The short form content and the need for instant gratification and validation. It is destroying you. It is destroying your confidence. The most magnetic thing is to be calm and to be slow. None of us are ever those things when you are addicted to your phone, when you are needing constant stimulation at all times.
So my challenge for you is to be silent. We've talked about some physical things. We've talked about some mental things, some perspective shifts. This is going to completely shift your energy and make you magnetic if you can learn how to be confident in the quiet and still in the slow. A few simple practices I love that my life has genuinely transformed and I feel like my demeanor has transformed again. Ever since just practicing silence in the morning, even in my car rides, guys, I might sound crazy to some of you. No music. No music or at least maybe a podcast or something more intentional than just random music or at least worship music. Just being more intentional with how I spend my mornings. And going the first hour at least of every single morning without going on my phone has changed the game for me. It has made my stress levels lower, which therefore makes everything hotter. Your hormones are more balanced, which means your skin will look better. You'll be less inflamed. Your attitude, your mood will be better. Your energy will be better. If you could just figure out how to slow down, destress, and be more present instead of needing constant stimulation.
And something that's completely changed within me as of lately is being able to have intentional rest without guilt. I used to never be able to allow myself to relax or achieve true genuine rest without feeling like there were a million other things I should be doing. If you want to actually be hot, it's not that you need to add more into your routine. It's that you need to slow down so your soul can catch up to your body. If that makes sense. Like, yeah, you can do all the things, follow all the glowup tips that you hear on TikTok, but if you don't slow down to actually let yourself catch up, you will eventually get burned out and then you will have to start all over from point A. So, my encouragement to you is to let yourself be slow and to actually practice it. No matter how badly you want it, you will never be able to do it all in a day. And I actually really want to do an episode on this because I could just say so much about how much I've learned about time and balance and prioritizing things that really matter in a day. So, let me know if you guys want that episode because I could go on and on and on. I've been doing no phone Sundays and just honoring the Sabbath in that way and I freaking love it you guys. I feel like I actually for once can achieve true rest and that's when my body can just relax and I feel like I never look or feel better than I do after a good no phone Sunday reset.
But I overall need you to know that it's not that you need a new life. You need a life that reflects who you are becoming. This isn't you playing some part or putting some costume on or a facade. This is you stepping into a version of yourself that you are already destined to be. You just have to align yourself with that version of you. And I think that's why so many people's goals and glow-ups are temporary and short term, it's because they see themselves as playing a part or doing something for a dotted period of time. But if you're able to rewire your perspective and decide that you are just the kind of person who does these things and you reset your habits and your routines to be someone who is aligned with the highest version of you, that is when it will last.
And that will bring me to our final pillar, which is repeat. Repeat is where the discipline comes in. It's where the routines come in. So yes, you've asked yourself what your highest version of yourself will do, maybe what their day looks like, what their room looks like, what their job looks like. So now it's time to put it into action. And the repeat is important because it's not saying perfection. It is not saying I will do it perfectly every single time. But it's saying I will repeat it even if I mess up. Even if I break the streak, even if I fall short, I will keep going. Because remember, this is not some short-term challenge. This is an identity shift. We're not quitting if we mess up because this is actually who I am. I'm not doing some all or nothing challenge. If I go to sleep with a messy room one night, that doesn't mean I'm a complete slob and I can't take care of anything that I own. You can still be that girl. You're just that girl and human. You're just that girl who maybe slips up once or twice every now and then, but that doesn't mean that you aren't still her.
And so, in order to allow change, yes, we need consistency, and that is so important to stick to those goals, but we also need forgiveness. Because if you aren't able to recover and move forward, if you just slip up one day, then it's not an identity shift. It's a challenge or a habit that you are failing at. But if you are able to bounce back from it, that is how it's actually going to last and that's how you're going to become unrecognizable long term and not just for a short period of time. So focus on consistency and not just intensity. Let spring be about actually becoming and not just performing. Step into the version of yourself that you want. Don't feel like it's something that is so far away, so out of reach. Reflect on who you want to be. Reset your space, reset your life, reset your environment, reset your routines, and repeat them with intention.
Remember that becoming unrecognizable does not mean being ungrounded. There's often a gap between the two. We think that we need to be living this fast-paced life that's super chaotic. And we're doing the craziest routines, waking up at 5:00 a.m. and staying up until midnight and working out three different times in the same day and repeating it 24/7. It doesn't have to be like that, and it will not last if there's no strong foundation and self-concept built beneath that. Growth should ultimately feel calmer and not more chaotic. And that is how you can discern the difference between the two. And so when you are implementing these spring resets or summer glow up goals, ask yourself, does this feel calmer or does this feel faster? Does it feel unrecognizable or does it feel ungrounded?
And I know for some of you, again, it might feel so early, but my encouragement to you is that if you start these things now, summer won't just change you, but it will reveal the person who you've been destined to become and who you've been meant to be and are now finally aligned with. I really hope you guys enjoyed this episode. Again, I've just been so focused and convicted of wanting to build something that is not just based on solely glow-ups and being that girl, but actually is about bettering you and who you are at your core. And again, not just the physical things. I know it's so hard in a worldly world where that is what will always be number one is the shallow will always succeed and will always shine in this human, very human world that we live in. I hope that you take this as encouragement that just because everyone else is posting something a certain way and trying to appeal to a certain eye doesn't mean that you have to. And yeah, maybe it does mean less views for the time being, but I would rather spread a positive, deep, meaningful, intentional message to one person than a shallow message to a million people because I truly believe that the growth and the progress that is happening in your hearts is priceless and I would not change it for the world.
