GTA 5 teaches you one rule very early on that gravity always wins. Doesn't matter who you're playing as Michael and Franklin jump from a tall enough building, it's instant death. Also, if you jump off a skyscraper as Trevor and try to activate his ability midair the game flat out refuses.
But here's the part almost nobody discovers. There's a tiny exploit that completely breaks this rule and it only applies to Trevor. Before jumping, place a few sticky bombs near the edge of the building. Now, activate Trevor's special ability before you jump. Then, trigger the sticky bombs. Instead of the fall being the main source of damage, the game registers the explosion first. That explosion forces a fresh damage check, and the game reconfirms Trevor's invincible state while he's already falling. From that moment on, gravity stops being fatal. He falls calmly, almost casually, like the ground is something he'll deal with later.
In game design terms, this is a perfect storm. The explosion changes the damage source. The ability overrides fall calculations. Rockstar clearly tried to prevent this. They blocked midair activation. They enforced fall damage limits. They respected realism until two systems collided in a way they didn't fully anticipate.
