This video is about increasing your productivity. If you use ChatGPT or similar services on a regular basis, I am more than confident that the life hacks from this video will be useful to you. We will look at so-called prompt macros for automating routine tasks, as well as custom instructions for chats. If all this sounds complicated, don't worry. You are on the Digital Language channel. Here we talk [music] about technology in simple language, and let's start with prompt macros. These are special personal commands from you to your chat, so that it works the way you need it to. Did you know that ChatGPT has an end-to-end memory function? When you tell it something about yourself while chatting, ChatGPT can quietly remember it all. And if you write, "Do you remember me?", you might be surprised. And if you already knew about this function, then now we will learn to use it at an advanced level. So, click on your avatar at the bottom left, then select "Personalization". Scroll down in the window to the "Memory" section and click the "Manage" button. Here there might be a rather long list of what ChatGPT has remembered about you. And to use this for good, to automate some of your tasks, you first need to think, analyze how you communicate with the chat, what requests or tasks you give it with periodic regularity. And if such tasks exist, we will learn to automate them right now. And if there are no such tasks, then think after this video about what you can optimize. Now we will look at examples of some prompt macros for automation in various areas of use. For example, you want to learn something. Here in green, these are precisely the ready-made templates for such prompts. By the way, I will later tell you where to get them for free. And let's imagine that you are learning English, you want to learn new words, their translation, grammar, and usage in sentences. So, here is the first prompt that I will use now. How does it look? When I write a word or phrase, and then add a secret letter, for example, "P", for translation, give the translation of the word in English, grammar, and three examples of its use in sentences. I copy this prompt. And then we use the end-to-end memory function, which works in different chats. And through the chat, we ask it to remember, so that it precisely understands what we want. We paste this prompt and send it. Now it will say that the memory has been updated. And ChatGPT will say that when you launch this macro, and the trigger, so to speak, is the letter "P" or a phrase, it will perform this command. We are essentially real programmers now. I am starting a new chat for testing. I write a word in Ukrainian and the letter "P". Usually, the chat, of course, would not understand what we want from it, but we already have our own program. So, by sending such a prompt, we will get a result. Translation: Dream, grammar: noun, well, a little grammar, examples of sentences. If you need more information, conjugation, for example, then you just write all this in your prompt macro, and ChatGPT will always do it. Let's now look at how it was saved in memory and what can be done with this macro next. Click on our avatar in the corner again, "Personalization", "Memory", "Manage". And here, in English, ChatGPT itself has recorded that when the user enters such an action, such a trigger, then such a command, such a task should be performed. There is a three-dot button that allows us to delete it if we no longer need this macro. Have you used the memory function before? Write in the comments. And if you haven't, then perhaps this video deserves a like. Let's move on and look at other examples of macros. As you understood, there are many of them here for education. There is an article summarizer, your mentor-examiner, a multi-level explanation of a complex topic, code review if you are coding, creating a study plan, and so on. But now let's look at the next category of prompts for entrepreneurs and freelancers. Well, for example, you have an audio recording of a Zoom meeting, you can structure it, convert it into text. [music] Competitor analysis. You drop a competitor's website, write a secret word, for example, "analysis", and you get a SWOT analysis, well, at least a superficial one based on what is on the website. Briefing before a meeting, you can prepare. Let me try this last one, the elevator pitch. This is when we are in an elevator, you know, this classic story of 30 seconds and you have to talk about your project. Let's use it. I go to ChatGPT, close the window, new chat, I write "remember this prompt" and send it. While it's saving it to memory, I will use my own website, Digital Language. By the way, before I forget, let me tell you where you can get all these ready-made prompt templates and macros for free. Go to the Digital Language website, to the "Materials" section, and here is this blue robot with a gear, "Prompts, macros for automating routine work with chats". Click "Get Access", register on the website with your email, and you will have access forever. ChatGPT has saved this to memory. We create a new chat. I drop the link and write the word "pitch", which is my trigger in the macro. Let's see what information it will extract, what we can tell about our project in 30 seconds. In our prompt macro, we can additionally specify that such a pitch should be, for example, no more than five sentences. Let's move on and look at the block of prompts for creators, those who create content. Content idea generator. That is, you don't have to ask every time how to formulate ideas, in what format. I hope you understood that the essence of these macros is that if you write long, extensive prompts with instructions in ChatGPT and repeat the same thing every time, then in such cases, you can pack all this into such a prompt, into memory, and ChatGPT will refer to it every time. So, here we have content recycling, i.e., rewriting, SEO optimization, audience engagement. For example, when I send text or provide a link and write the word "interactive": "Create three open-ended questions for the audience based on this material and one idea for a poll, for example, a script for a YouTube video, a prompt for visuals, a content plan." These are basic prompts. I emphasize again, you should refine them, detail them to your liking. And the last category in our list is everyday life, regardless of your profession. For example, we write that in the refrigerator, the word "recipe", and we immediately get ready-made recipe data, even with calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, if you track that, immediately in the format you need. So, you don't need to ask for all this every time in such cases. Workout generator, for example, you also specify some data and get it in the format you need. Gift ideas and much more. Let's see how it works now. Not in ChatGPT, but in Gemini, because these are two neural networks that I use on a regular basis. And [music] in both of them I use the memory function. And it works in both places, identically. Okay. So, in Gemini, we need to click on the gear at the bottom, the "Personal context" option, and then the "Add" button. I will use this macro from our list now. When I describe a dish I want to cook, or provide a link to its description somewhere on the internet, and add the word "dish". Create a list of necessary ingredients in the required quantities and group them by supermarket departments, so that it is convenient for me to go and buy everything immediately. I send it, click the corresponding button, and now I start a new chat. I write "Greek salad dish". I start. We received in the vegetable and fruit section. We need to buy tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, red onion. In what quantity? There are also notes here about why each ingredient is needed in this salad. Then in the dairy section, buy feta cheese, groceries and oils, olives, oregano, salt, and additionally you can dress it with red wine vinegar. This is how wonderfully, in my opinion, the program worked, which turns a dish into a specific checklist of what to buy in the store. And now let's look at global custom instructions that affect our overall work with the chat. For this, there are separate fields and settings in ChatGPT. Click on your avatar again, "Personalization", and this time we don't scroll down, but look at what's at the top of the window. We can choose the basic style and tone from these numerous options globally, as in all chats, always under all conditions. ChatGPT will respond to us as a perfect and clear professional, as a warm and talkative friend, frank, eccentric, efficient, boring, or cynical. And you can also specify your special instructions, they were previously called custom, to ask ChatGPT to always do something the same in all chats, for example, to always communicate in Ukrainian, even if we wrote the prompt in English. Why did I enter such an instruction for myself here? Because there are, for example, many libraries with ready-made prompts, templates. And, by the way, I talked about such libraries in one of the previous videos. I invite you to watch it. I will leave the link in the video description. And the prompts there are, well, English, very long. And usually ChatGPT would respond in English. But thanks to this function, this instruction that I gave, it always writes in Ukrainian. What other ideas for global instructions can there be? Let's look in our document, which you can get. I have already shown that there is a list of custom global instructions regarding the general style, how ChatGPT should communicate with us. For example, for those who love structure, here we ask it to always use bulleted lists, highlight in bold, and so on. According to the BLF technology, we ask it to start its answer with the main conclusion or a direct answer to the question, and then provide details for informal communication, for business, for those who want to see sources of information, opponent mode, when ChatGPT will always argue with you, code formatting priority. Well, and of course, based on these examples, you can come up with much more of your own. In addition to custom instructions related to response style, it is also worth paying attention to some additional fields in ChatGPT personalization. This is the nickname, where you can write your name, and the chat will address you by name more humanely. Your profession, if you specify it, then ChatGPT will understand which questions you need more in-depth, professional answers to. And in the "More about you" field, you can write about your preferences and general lifestyle, so that the chat also adapts to your interests and needs. Regarding similar personalization settings in Gemini, everything is simpler here. We launch the same option where we have already been today, "Personal context", and the "Add" button. You paste all the information that I just showed, and your name, and custom instructions, and prompt macros, and preferences, and profession. That is, everything on one page and in the same way. I hope that the templates we worked with today will help you take the first steps towards automating your routine tasks. Have you had any thoughts, ideas about what you can automate in your work or daily life using today's methods? And did you know about them before? Write in the comments, I'll be happy to read. And I will be waiting for you in the next videos on the Digital Language channel.
