Peace be with you, my dears. This is Father Dmitry. Stop right now. If you have a son, it doesn't matter if he is young or long grown, do not scroll past this video. What you are about to hear may change his life, and perhaps even save it. I do not say this for the sake of a pretty phrase. I say this as a priest who has been hearing confessions for over 20 years, listening to mothers, and seeing with my own eyes what true prayer does to people's destinies. Today I will tell you a story after which you will no longer be able to live as before. And at the end of this video, I will give you a prayer, a specific, powerful prayer of a mother for her son, which must be read every day. Please do not leave, this is important.

A few months ago, late in the evening, a woman came to my church. I immediately saw that she was at her limit. Her eyes were red, her hands were trembling. Under her eyes were shadows that people get when they have forgotten what sleep is. She sat down on a bench and was silent for a while. I did not rush her. In my ministry, I have long understood that when a person comes in such a state, they first need to simply feel that they are safe. Then she spoke: "Father, I haven't slept for 30 nights. I am not exaggerating, 30 nights. My son is disappearing, and I don't know what to do."

She told me everything. Her son, he is 32 years old, had always been a good guy, hardworking, kind, caring, but a year and a half ago something broke. He got involved with a company where they drank, partied, lived as if tomorrow would not come. At first, he just started calling less often, then he started being rude, then he stopped answering the phone altogether. She learned scraps of information through acquaintances, and each scrap was more terrifying than the last. He lost his job, he was kicked out of his apartment. He owed money to people you don't want to owe money to.

She went to everyone: doctors, psychologists, acquaintances who promised to talk to him, nothing helped. Her son seemed to have fallen into a black hole, and the harder she tried to pull him out, the deeper he sank. She said words to me that I will remember forever. "Father, I feel like I am losing him. Not like a mother loses an adult child who has simply moved out to live on his own, but I am truly losing him. It's as if something dark is taking him from me, and I can do nothing."

I looked at her and said, "You can. You can do what no doctor, no psychologist, no friend can do. You can pray." And I don't mean just reading words before bed. I mean standing for a real spiritual battle for your son. She looked at me with a mixture of hope and disbelief that I had seen hundreds of times. People want to believe, but they are afraid. Afraid it won't help again. Afraid of disappointment. But I knew, I knew from 20 years of ministry experience, that what I was telling her worked. Not because I am some special priest, but because a mother's prayer for her son is one of the most powerful forces in the spiritual world. What happened next with this woman and her son, I will tell you a little later. This story is amazing, and you must hear it in its entirety. But first, you need to understand something very important. Why do sons so often find themselves in trouble? Why do mothers most often come asking for help for them? And why does the enemy of mankind target our sons first? About this right now. Don't switch channels.

Here's a fact that will surprise many. In all my years of ministry, mothers have come to me for prayerful help for their children hundreds and hundreds of times. And you know what I noticed? They ask for sons three, and even four times more often than for daughters. I am not making up this figure. I kept records, I talked to other priests, and they confirm the same thing. It is sons who more often go astray. It is sons who more often fall into addiction. It is sons who more often break ties with their families and go where destruction awaits them. Why? The world will tell you: "It's hormones, it's upbringing, it's social conditions," and there is some truth to that. But I, as a priest, see the picture deeper, much deeper. "A son is a warrior by nature, as the Lord intended. Man is created to protect, to build, to lead. Great strength is inherent in him." But here's what's important to understand. The more strength a person has, the more attractive he is to darkness. The enemy of mankind is not stupid. He does not waste strength in vain. He strikes where he can get the greatest result. To break a man means to break a future father, a future protector, a future support for an entire family. One broken son means a defenseless wife, children without a father, a mother who goes mad with grief. Everything is destroyed with one blow.

I remember a case. A woman came to me, a village woman, simple, with calloused hands. Her son was gold, a good boy. He studied well at school, helped his mother, went to church from childhood. Everyone said: "You are lucky with your son." And then he went to the city to study, and in one year, one single year, he was unrecognizable. He started drinking, dropped out of institute, became insolent, rude, came home and looked at his mother as if she were a stranger. She told me, tears streaming down her face. "Father," she said, "this is not my son, it's someone else in his body. My son would never have done this." And you know what? She was right in her own way. It really was no longer her son. Not in the literal sense, of course, but spiritually, he was as if replaced. Because when a person turns away from God, when he opens the door to sin, darkness enters his life. And this darkness changes a person beyond recognition. I have seen this dozens of times. Strong, healthy, intelligent guys turned into shadows of themselves in a few months. One got into gambling addiction, lost everything, including his parents' apartment. Another started drinking after breaking up with his girlfriend and couldn't stop for 3 years. A third simply withdrew from the world, stopped leaving his room, stopped talking, stopped living. And each time, each time behind these guys stood a mother who didn't know what to do, who rushed between doctors and psychologists, who cried at night, who felt guilty. "Maybe I did something wrong, maybe I didn't give enough love, maybe it's my fault." So, I want to say to every mother watching this video: You are not to blame. Do you hear? You are not to blame. You did everything you could. You loved, you raised, you gave your all. But there is a battle that is not fought on earth, but in the spiritual world. And in this battle, you have a weapon that no one else has. You have a mother's prayer. But pay attention here. Many mothers pray and it seems nothing happens. They pray for years, and their son only falls deeper. Why is that? Does the Lord not hear? No, the Lord hears every word, but there is something that prevents the prayer from reaching. There are spiritual laws that must be known and observed. I will tell you about them next. And believe me, what you hear will revolutionize your understanding of prayer. Stay with me.

Did you know that in Orthodox tradition there is an expression that is centuries old? "A mother's prayer will retrieve from the bottom of the sea." Many have heard these words, but few truly understand their depth. And this is not just a beautiful saying. This is a spiritual law, confirmed by thousands of real stories throughout the history of the Church. Let me explain how it works. Not in theological terms, but simply, so that every mother can understand. When a woman carries a child, there is an umbilical cord between her and the infant. Through it, the child receives everything: nourishment, oxygen, life. When the child is born, the umbilical cord is cut. The physical one, yes, but not the spiritual one. The spiritual connection between a mother and child, especially between a mother and son, is never cut. It exists until the mother's last breath. And through this invisible connection, a mother can transmit to her son something stronger than any medicine, any advice, any earthly influence. She can transmit God's grace to him through her prayer. This is how it happens. When a mother begins to pray for her son sincerely, with tears, with faith, her words rise to God's throne, and the Lord, seeing the mother's heart, sends His angels to her son. Not figuratively, not metaphorically, but literally, angels stand beside this person and begin to act. They avert disaster, they soften the heart, they arrange circumstances so that the person stops and thinks. I remember one young man telling me at confession. He said: "Father, I don't understand what happened myself. I lived in complete darkness, drank, partied, didn't think about anything." And then one morning I woke up and felt: "That's enough." It was as if someone invisible put his hand on my shoulder and said: "Stop." Not a voice, no, just a feeling. An absolutely clear feeling that if I don't stop right now, there will be an abyss ahead. And I stopped. I asked him: "And do you know that your mother got up every day at 5:00 AM and knelt for 2 hours before the icon, praying for you?" He turned pale. "No," he said, "I didn't know, she didn't tell me." That's how it works, my dears. A mother prays, and hundreds of kilometers away, her son's conscience suddenly awakens. A mother reads a prayer, and her son suddenly breaks off relations with people who are dragging him down. A mother cries before an icon, and her son at the last moment does not get into a car that will crash in an hour. This is not a coincidence, it is the action of God's grace, invoked by a mother's prayer.

In the lives of the saints, we find amazing examples. One mother prayed for her son for 17 years. 17 years. Can you imagine? He lived in terrible sin. He mocked her faith. He was as far from God as one could possibly imagine. But she did not stop, and the Lord heard. Her son not only returned to faith. He became one of the greatest teachers of the Church, whose works are still read today, 1500 years later. 17 years of prayer without an answer, without a single sign. Just faith and tears before the icon every day. And then a miracle that changed the history of all Christianity.

But here's what's important for me to say. Prayer is not a magic spell. You cannot just read words and expect a result, as if you pressed a button on an automaton. Prayer is a living conversation with God. And like in any conversation, it's not just what you say that matters, but how you say it, with what heart, with what intention, with what faith. And here we come to a very painful topic, to mistakes. To those mistakes that mothers make in prayer for their sons, without suspecting it, mistakes that can nullify even the most sincere prayer. I know this is hard to hear, but if you truly want to help your son, you need to know this. And I will tell you without concealment. Listen carefully. One woman once said words to me that made my heart ache. She stood before me, aged before her time, with dull eyes, and said: "Father, I have been praying for 5 years. 5 years every day, and my son only gets worse. So, God doesn't hear me, so I am unworthy, so it's all useless."

I took her hand and said, "God hears you, every word, every tear. But let's talk honestly. Let's figure out what exactly you are doing when you pray. Because sometimes we ourselves, without realizing it, put a wall between our prayer and the Lord. And He cannot break through to us not because He doesn't want to, but because we ourselves have closed the door." In 20 years of ministry, I have identified three main mistakes that mothers praying for their sons make. Three mistakes, each of which can nullify even the most fervent prayer. Listen carefully and check yourself honestly. Not to condemn you, but to help you.

Mistake one. Prayer with murmuring. This is the most common and most destructive mistake. A mother stands before an icon and begins to pray, but inside her, resentment boils. "Lord, why me? Why my son? I did everything right. I went to church. I lit candles. Why did you allow this?" She utters the words of prayer, but her heart cries something else entirely. Her heart cries: "You are unjust, you are cruel, you are not helping." And this resentment, this murmuring against God, is like poison that poisons the prayer from within. Because prayer is trust, it is a conversation with the Heavenly Father, who loves your son even more than you do. It's hard to believe this when everything is falling apart, when your son is on the edge, when it seems the world is crumbling. But it is at this moment that you must do the hardest thing: humble yourself and trust. Not understand, but trust. Say: "Lord, I don't understand why all this is happening, but I believe that you are near. I believe that you are leading. Help me and help my son." This kind of prayer pierces the heavens.

Mistake two. Attempting to control through prayer. This is a subtle mistake, and many mothers do not notice it. They pray, but in reality, they are not asking God for help. They are trying to control their son's life through prayer. "Lord, make him break up with this girl. Lord, let him return to our city. Lord, let him get that job I found for him." Do you see what's happening? The mother has made her own plan for her son's salvation and is asking God to execute this plan. But God may have a completely different path. A path that the mother does not see and does not understand. Proper prayer is not an order to the heavenly chancellery. Proper prayer is entrusting your son into God's hands. It is saying: "Lord, you know better than I what my son needs. I entrust him to you. Lead him on your path, even if I don't understand this path." When a mother says these words from the bottom of her heart, then God is given freedom to act, and He acts in ways that no mother can even imagine.

Mistake three. Formality and irregularity. A mother prays one evening, fervently, with tears. Then she doesn't pray for a week, busy with things, tired, no time. Then she prays again, not with tears, just reads the text because she has to. Then she forgets again. Brothers and sisters, prayer is not a one-time action, it is daily labor. It's like medicine. If you take it sporadically, it won't work. Remember what I told you about the mother who prayed for 17 years? She prayed every day without fail, without excuses. She was tired, but she still prayed. She was sick, she prayed lying down. She didn't see results, but she continued, because prayer is a marathon, not a sprint. That woman who told me about 5 years of fruitless prayers, when we discussed it, it turned out she prayed sporadically with resentment towards God in her heart and with a clear list of demands for what God should do. When she realized this and changed her approach, the result came in 2 months, just 2 months.

And now let's return to the story I started telling at the very beginning, to the woman who came to me after thirty sleepless nights, because what happened next is a true testament to the power of a mother's prayer. I will never forget this woman's gaze. Let's call her Marina. I will not, of course, reveal her real name. The secrecy of confession is sacred. So, Marina sat before me that evening, and I saw a person who had reached the very bottom of despair. She was not crying. Her tears had run out a week ago. She just stared ahead with empty eyes and spoke quietly. Her 32-year-old son lived in another city. A year and a half ago, he met people who turned his life upside down. And not in a good way. There were drinking, shady dealings, money that came and went from who knows where and to whom. Her son started drinking. First on weekends, then every day. He lost his job. He was asked to leave his apartment. He stayed with acquaintances in random places. Marina tried to help, sent money, and he spent it in one evening. She visited him, and he wouldn't open the door. She called, and he hung up. The last time they spoke, he said something to her that she couldn't repeat to me. She just fell silent and shook her head. I listened to her and said, "Marina, I won't promise you that everything will be alright tomorrow. I won't say pretty words. I'll tell you the truth, the situation is difficult." But in my life, I have seen people come out of even more difficult situations. Do you know thanks to what? Thanks to a mother's prayer, a true, daily, humble prayer. I gave her a specific prayer, the very one I will read to you at the end of this video, and instructed her to read it every day, morning and evening, before an icon with a lit candle, for at least 40 days without interruption. Not to miss a single day. And most importantly, to pray without murmuring, without resentment, with complete trust in God. Not to tell the Lord what to do, but simply to entrust her son into His hands. Marina left that evening. Honestly, I worried about her. Not everyone can endure such prayerful labor. Many start and give up after a week. But Marina was made of different stuff. She started praying the very next morning. She got up at 5:00 AM, when it was still dark. She lit a candle before the icon of the Mother of God and read the prayer. Word for word, as I gave it to her, with tears, but without murmuring, with pain, but with trust. Every morning and every evening without a single miss. The first 2 weeks, nothing, absolutely nothing. Her son didn't call, didn't answer her calls. Silence. Marina later admitted to me that these days were the hardest for her. A voice inside said: "See, it's useless, you're trying in vain." But she continued every morning, every evening. On the twenty-third day, her phone rang. She looked at the screen and was stunned: "Son, for the first time in six months." She picked up the phone. Her hands were shaking so much that she almost dropped it. He said: "Mom, hi. Just hi. Nothing more." The conversation lasted less than a minute, but for Marina, it was like thunder from a clear sky, like the first ray of sun after an endless night. She didn't push, didn't ask questions, just said: "Hi, son, I'm glad to hear you." And she continued to pray. A month later, he called again. This time they talked longer. He said he had problems, without going into details, but the very fact that he spoke was already a miracle. Two months later, he said he wanted to leave those people, but couldn't. He was held back by debts, obligations, fear. Marina didn't give advice. She just said: "I pray for you every day." And continued her prayerful labor. Three months later, something incredible happened. The person who had tied her son most to that company left the city himself. Just left. Without warning. The company fell apart in a matter of days. Her son found himself alone, without these people, without their influence. And for the first time in a year and a half, he looked at his life with sober eyes. Six months after Marina began praying, her son returned home. Thin, exhausted, with shame in his eyes. He stood at the threshold and couldn't lift his head. And she hugged him and simply said: "Welcome home, son." He found a job, began to recover, and 8 months later, he himself, without anyone's prompting, came to church, stood before an icon, and stood there silently for a long time. Then he came to me for confession, and as he recounted what he had been through, I saw it was a different person. The Lord returned him through his mother's prayer. Marina later told me: "Father, I now know for sure, a mother's prayer will retrieve from the bottom of the sea. It's not a saying, it's the truth. And this story is not the only one. I have dozens like it. But the prayer that I gave Marina, and which changed her son's life, here it is, a true treasure. And now I will give it to you.

We have now come to the most important part, the reason why you have watched this far. And if you are here, if you have not left, it means the Lord is holding your hand right now. It means this video found you not by chance. It means your son needs your prayer right today. I will now read you a mother's prayer for her son. This is the very prayer I gave Marina. The very one I give to every mother who comes to me with pain for her child. It is addressed to our Lord and to the Most Holy Theotokos, who herself was a mother and knows a mother's heart like no one else. Listen and memorize, or better yet, save this video to read along with me every day.

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, by the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother, hear me, Your sinful and unworthy servant. Lord, in Your mercy, have power over my child. Have mercy and save him, for the sake of Your Name. Lord, forgive him all his sins, voluntary and involuntary, committed before You. Lord, guide him onto the true path of Your commandments and enlighten him with Your Christ's light for the salvation of his soul and the healing of his body. Lord, bless him in his home, around his home, in the field, at work, and on the road, and in every place of Your dominion. Lord, protect him under Your holy protection from flying bullets, arrows, knives, swords, poison, fire, floods, deadly plagues, and untimely death. Lord, shield him from visible and invisible enemies, from all troubles, evils, misfortunes, betrayal, and captivity. Lord, heal him from all illnesses, cleanse him from all impurity, and alleviate his spiritual suffering and sorrows. Lord, grant him the grace of the Holy Spirit for many years of life, health, and chastity. Lord, increase and strengthen his mental abilities and physical strength. Lord, give him Your blessing for a pious family life and pious procreation. Lord, grant me, Your unworthy and sinful servant, a parental blessing for my child in the coming morning, days, evenings, and nights, for the sake of Your Name, for Your kingdom is eternal, all-powerful, and mighty. Amen. Most Holy Theotokos, save us. Amen."

This is the prayer, my dears, these are the words that Marina read every day for months, these are the words that changed her son's destiny and the destinies of dozens of other sons whose mothers prayed for them.

Now, instructions. How to correctly read this prayer so that it works with full force?

First. Read every day, morning and evening. In the morning, to cover your son with protection for the whole day, in the evening, so that the Lord may keep him through the night. Do not miss a single day. Remember, regularity is the foundation of prayerful labor.

Second. Read before an icon. If you have an icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, stand before it. Light a candle. This is not a ritual, not a ceremony. A candle is a symbol of your burning prayer, your burning heart.

Third. Read for at least 40 days without interruption. 40 days is a special period in the Orthodox tradition, a period for which prayer gains full spiritual strength. But do not stop after 40 days. Continue as long as necessary. A year, two, 10, as long as it takes.

Fourth. Read with faith and without murmuring. Remember the three mistakes I talked about? Do not repeat them. Trust God. Do not demand, but ask. Do not control, but entrust. Do not murmur, but give thanks.

And fifth. Do not expect an instant result. A week may pass, a month, or even a year. But prayer works from the first day. You just don't always see it immediately. Like a seed planted in the ground, it grows in silence and darkness, and you don't see the roots. But one day, a sprout breaks through the earth, and you realize something has been happening all this time. This prayer helps in any situation. If your son is sick, pray. If he has gone astray, pray. If he is far from home, pray. If he is in danger, pray. And even if your son is doing well right now, pray. Create a shield before trouble comes. Don't wait for thunder to start building a roof.

My dears, if this video found you today, it is God's providence. This is not an algorithm, it is not a coincidence. The Lord has brought you here because your son needs your prayer right now. Today, save this video, send it to that mother who is sleepless at night and crying for her son. Perhaps this prayer will change everything. And subscribe to our channel. Every week here, you will find prayers, teachings, and stories that strengthen faith and change lives. Do not lose this place. In a world where there is so much noise and bustle, let there be one quiet corner for you where you will always be reminded of what is most important, of God, of prayer, of love. May the Lord keep you and your sons. This was Father Dmitry. Until our next meeting. Amen.
