The Manifestation SECRET You Were Never Told! | Rhonda Byrne

When we were actually making the film, The Secret, I went into that $2 million in debt. I didn't have a dime. But all of that, I realized, was a reflection of where I was inside about money. Everything is coming from the mental first. Whether we realize it or not, you believe you have it already. It manifests. Simple as that.

Internationally renowned best-selling author, creator, and the executive producer of The Secret. Sold 34 million copies. The one and only Ronda Byrne.

What was your thinking like before you started to create more financial abundance?

I would go to bed at night and I would feel sick in my stomach, not knowing how I was going to pay for my daughter's school fees. I used to walk outside and walk down the street. I'm breathing in the abundance. I'm breathing in the abundance with every step I take because I knew my subconscious mind only had beliefs of lack about money. And I knew the moment that I had overcome that, money would never be a problem again.

How, how does someone get happy when everything has gone wrong in their life?

By not indulging in...

Welcome back, everyone, to the School of Greatness. Very excited about our guest. We have the inspiring Rhonda Byrne in the house again. Welcome back.

Thank you, Lewis. It's so good to be here. Thank you.

Oh my gosh. You have, uh, really transformed the world with your work. I think over 35 million copies, I believe, uh, of the book The Secret have been sold in over 50 languages. You've been a multiple New York Times bestseller for multiple books. But the, the impact you've made around the energy of your work has really had a ripple effect in the world. And I think it's almost been 20 years since The Secret. Is that right?

Yeah.

20 years since The Secret, but also transformed your world and changed your life.

Totally.

I'm curious, after 20 years of impacting that many people's lives and really speaking about the topics you talk about, has anything shifted for you around manifestation? Has anything changed for you around manifestation that is different now than it was 20 years ago with The Secret?

It is. It's actually that I understand now more about how it happens.

Okay.

But the method is exactly the same.

Okay.

I understand way more how it happens. And I also know that it's much easier than I thought when I wrote The Secret. Like, and I thought it was easy when I wrote The Secret, but now I'm just like, it's a piece of cake.

Really?

Yeah. And I think one of the reasons that, one of the things that trips people up is they try too hard. Like they're trying too hard, but, you know, we deserve everything that we could possibly want. And so there's no, you know, the universe to be, to put it, you know, sweetly, kind of the universe wants us to have everything and to live a full life. And so, yeah, it's not a battle or anything like that. So I think sometimes we just like try too hard. And trying, of course, says that I don't have it yet.

Really?

Yeah. Isn't there something around, like, I guess putting in effort or putting in focus or putting in some energy to developing a skill so that you can receive more of what you want? Or is it really as simple as just kind of let it go and allow things to come to you as, as they come?

Well, I think if you, you know, with a skill, like, you, it, you know, you can't just pick up a violin and be a maestro. Right? Right. So, and those kinds of things, we all tend to love anyway. Um, learning things and accomplishing things and building, you know, businesses and all of those kinds of things. But we do not, we certainly do not need to put as much effort into all of that. Like, it, everything, everything is coming from the mental first. Whether we realize it or not, it is. Every action we take is a thought first. Every word we speak is a thought first. And so if we did more mental preparation before we took an action, that action would be so smooth and just flow, you know? And that's kind of the part that in the future civilization will definitely realize and get really good at. And there's an opportunity for people to get really good at it now. So life's not so hard.

You, you talk about the first thing in the book, uh, your new book called Countdown to Riches: 21 Days to Wealth Attracting Habits, which I love.

Thank you.

In the beginning, you say financial struggle is caused by one thing, which is what you were just sharing. It's not a result of your salary, the lack of savings in your bank account, the amount of debt you have, or any other worldly circumstance. Financial struggle is caused by our thoughts alone.

Yay.

And I love that. But I already know people are going to say who are listening or watching, say, "Well, how can that be true for me? Because I think in a positive way, but I'm not receiving the money I want, or I've been struggling in my business or career for years, or I don't have the opportunities."

So, I'm trying to think this, this way, or I think this way, but the results are not coming. I love that. And I think that this is 100% true, but I already know people are going to be saying, "Okay, well, I'm thinking money, money, money, but I don't have it yet."

Well, they, but if they're thinking money, money, money, they would have it.

Really?

Yeah. And and...

Are they thinking more lack of money?

They are. Ah.

They're noticing the things that are wrong. They're noticing the lack. They're noticing that the business isn't doing as well as it should be, and they're kind of worried about that. And they're not really noticing the amount of thoughts they're having around all of that. And so, like, we, we, you know, without having real control over your mind and be the witness of your mind. So not go down the rabbit hole with your mind, not get lured down, but be the witness of your mind. Then, then there will be a lot of thoughts that we're not even realizing that we're having them. And so most definitely, like, it's, I'm sorry, but it just is thought first.

And when you were, and when you were struggling before, before the business started to take off, before the book, before all these things really exploded, what was your thinking like that kept you in the situation you were in before you started to create more financial abundance?

Right.

What was that for you like? Do you remember back in the day what that was like?

Really? I remember so clearly because that night that I discovered this, I just became so aware of my thoughts.

Really?

Absolutely 100% aware. I was aware of every thought. In fact, I thought back over my life and I thought, it's amazing that I'm still alive because I've thought a lot of negative thoughts. You know, talk to people about dramas and things that you really, you don't want, and where therefore you're inviting those things into your life. And, yeah, I thought a lot about those kinds of things. But I became very, very aware of my thoughts. And, and when we were actually making the film, The Secret, I was strapped financially. I went into that $2 million in debt from a previous project that we'd been doing, and I just, like, I, I mortgaged my home. I took overdrafts out on my business. I took my credit cards to the max. I didn't have a dime. And, and here I am making, I'm in production and I'm making this film. I did everything. I used to walk, I used to walk outside. I walk down the street. I'm breathing in the abundance. I'm breathing in the abundance with every step I take. It's all around me. It's here now. Like, I did everything because I, I didn't have enough money to pay my staff.

And so, but all of that, I realized, was a reflection of where I was inside about money. The degree of lack that I had inside me, which was just from growing up normally, you know, people saying money doesn't grow on trees and all those things. And so, yeah, I really, I had all of that within me. And I knew the moment that I had overcome that, money would never be a problem again.

Wow. So, it was more overcoming your thinking around money, or anything you wanted in your life. It's overcoming your own thinking.

Yeah.

That was holding you back.

Yeah. It's interesting because you, as you were saying that, with every step I take, I'm breathing in abundance. This is all around me. Uh, it reminded me, I wasn't Bob Proctor in The Secret as well. Yeah.

There was a quote that I read from him yesterday because we just re-released an episode of his today. And there's a quote that he said that, uh, both faith and fear demand you believe in something you cannot see.

Yeah.

You choose. And it's like, if someone watching or listening right now who is struggling financially and they've never felt or seen financial freedom or abundance, it can feel really hard to understand what that looks like and feels like. And so we can either stay stuck in the fear and the scarcity of, "This is just how my life is. It's hard. It's a struggle. It's going. I want this. I want this, but I don't have it." Or we can start shifting things differently, like what you talk about in the 21-day guide.

Well, to, to Countdown to Riches: 21 Days of Wealth Attracting Habits, on how we can start to reprogram the way we think and feel around money and anything really that we want in the world and having it sooner. And so where did that thought come in? Where you said, "With every breath I take, I breathe in abundance, and I see it all around me, the opportunities." Did that...

Did you see that somewhere? Is that just something that came to you because you realized you needed to shift something inside of you and you're just going to try something new? Like, how did that idea come to you?

I think it came from a book that I read, Your Invisible Power by Genevieve Baron.

And that book was written in the early 1900s. And I had read just about every single thing of the New Thought authors back then. I loved all of their work. And that was a big time in our civilization where there is a real waking up of people and being very aware of how powerful their mind was. But then what was interesting after that is we kind of got sleepy again.

Why don't it just happens?

Is it just going to happen in waves? It kind of happens like that, really. There's a consciousness awakening and then a...

Clash back to sleep.

Yeah. Yeah. I know. I don't know why I'm not going back to sleep. No way. No way. So, but yeah, that's what happened. And I think she, Genevieve Baron, said something like that. I did everything.

I, I came up with every idea, every game, every, every single thing because I knew my subconscious mind only had beliefs of lack about money. You have to work really hard and struggle because my father worked so hard. He would leave at like 4:00 in the morning. He wouldn't get back till 7:00 at night. I mean, he just worked so, so hard. So that's all that I saw when I was growing up. And, uh, and so, yeah, I knew that I had all of that in my subconscious and I had to override it. And the only way to override it is with repetition of prosperity and abundance. And which is why I wanted to do Countdown. And the very thing that you were talking about, like somebody that's never seen riches, doesn't know how that feels. That's exactly why I wanted to write this book because there are practices. There are 21 practices in the book, and each one is designed to just fit into your life. It's not anything hard that you have to take on. It just fits into your daily life. They're really, really simple. However, they are life-changing.

Yes.

They're life-changing. And I just think it's a lot of fun, too. I just think they're a lot of fun. But they're all the things that I did.

These are the, yeah, these are the tools that help you unlock.

Yeah.

I love this.

Yeah.

What would you say? Again, you talk about in the beginning of the book about how thought is what's keeping us in lack. What are the most common thought patterns that most people have that keep them feeling in lack for financial abundance?

Like all of the kind of the world beliefs, like you have to work really hard for money. Uh, money doesn't come easily. And even some of those crazy things like, you know, rich people must be evil, and they must be dishonest. And, uh, uh, we can't afford it. Right. Isn't that interesting?

All of those kinds of world beliefs. And they are, they are world beliefs.

What if someone's like, "Well, listen, Rhonda, I really can't afford this thing. This is like too, this is too much to pay for something like this. It just seems like it's crazy."

Yeah. Like, how can someone shift their mindset from saying...

Easy.

"I can't afford this" to being it being such an easy payment to make?

Because they can say, if they see something that they love, instead of saying, "I can't afford it," they can say, "I can't wait till I can buy that."

"I can't wait. I'm just, you know, and it's going to be soon."

Right. You could just, like, be the opposite. Just, like, pivot to the opposite of what it is. And because I'm certainly not saying and and suggesting that you go and buy something that you can't afford. You don't need to do that. You just need to do it in your mind.

Interesting.

Not with your pocket, not with your wallet.

Just with your mind.

How does that look like if someone can't physically afford something and they don't want to go into debt to buy something, right? But they want to be able to in the future. How can they do that in their mind first before they physically create it?

Just imagine the habit. See, that's the really tricky, tricky thing about the, the law. The really tricky thing about it, the kind of curly bit about it, is that you have to believe you have it already.

Uhhuh.

You've just got to. And so, you believe you have it already. It manifests. Simple as that.

If we don't believe that we can have something already...

Yeah, we have to have it. You got to have it like your name. Like you have your name. You've got to have it like they're your feet and your hands.

Like no separation between you and it. You know, if you have something like your, your home or the clothes that you're wearing, like there isn't a a separation for you about those. They're one with you.

That's what it's got to be like. Like you already have it. Like I already have that house. I already have that car. I already have that company. I already have that promotion. Yeah. I already have it. I can feel it. I see it in my mind. And that's all you have to do. I think Bob Proctor would say, "See it in your mind and hold it in your hand."

That's true.

Right.

So, it sounds like it almost has to be three or four levels deep. You need to think it. You need to think that you have it. You need to feel that you have it.

Yeah.

You need to, I guess, spiritually believe that it's yours as well. There's like these different layers.

Yeah.

If you just think it, but you don't believe it and feel it, physically embody it, it sounds like it's going to be harder to, to manifest.

It just takes longer. It'll take longer because the, the subconscious mind, just the subconscious mind changes based on repetition. Like, it doesn't object to anything. It just takes everything that we believe. And so all the beliefs we have in there, we put those beliefs in there, pile them in, full of lack. And then all you need to do is basically, you're writing a new program. And the way you write a new program is through repetition, right? Over and over. And that will override the beliefs. And so you will then have new beliefs. And you can really see in the world things starting to change. You know, you can just, you can, I certainly did. I noticed things changing. That things didn't break down so much, or I would get a lucky break here or there. Or, you know, I did the, um, the audio. This book comes with just an incredible kind of secret passage to audio, which I had recorded. And they're all wealth affirmations to listen to as you're going to sleep. So, I just received it and I thought, "I'm going to listen as I go to sleep." And I've always used that time of night, which is why I suggest this practice. I've always used that time of night to say affirmations as I'm falling asleep because the last thing that goes into the subconscious mind is belief.

It will be a belief. And as you're sleepy, your conscious mind is not really objecting to everything that's being said. So all these wealth affirmations are saying that you're wealthy now already, that you already have it. So I decided to listen. And I, and I, as I was listening, I thought, "You're never going to fall asleep because you're listening to your own voice and you're listening to the way that you've said it and you're being critical of the way that you've said it, right?" And, but I did. I fell asleep probably after about 10 minutes. And the next morning, $4,000 came into my, I received $4,000 from a place I would never have imagined.

Wow.

And I knew immediately it was from listening to those affirmations.

Wow.

Yeah.

That's amazing.

Yeah.

I'm curious. I'm really thinking about people who are watching and listening who maybe have never experienced the feeling of abundance. Yeah. Who have always felt a little bit of anxiety, a little stress, a little lack, a little not enoughness, a little, "It's hard." For those that have never experienced what true financial abundance feels like embodied, how could you explain it to them? And how could they start to believe that they have something that they've never experienced in their body?

Um, they would, if, if they, like, I used to think that too. I've never been wealthy. And when I was really short of money, I was like, "I've never been wealthy, so, you know, how does that feel? I don't know how that feels." But then, you know, you, you look around at people that are wealthy. I mean, that's what I did. I looked at people that are wealthy. And I knew that the more that my mind changed, the more people would come into my life who were wealthy.

Right.

Because you start to get surrounded by wealth. You get all these signs of land, you know, of. And, um, and so I would look at pictures, I would imagine things, I would watch movies that were kind of centered around that. Like, there are a lot of reality shows, I think, you know, with that that are kind of, um, focused around wealth and things like that that you could look at. And you could buy those really, like, Architectural Digest, right? All those kinds of things. And look at those things. And, um, you could look in jewelry stores. You could look in, you know...

I mean, and just imagine that you walk into a store and what would it feel like if I could walk in here and I could just go, "I'll have that, and I'll have that, and I'll have that, and I'll have that." You know, if you could just walk in a store, what would that feel like to just say, "I want this, and this, and this." And sometimes for people, the way to feel wealthy is to imagine helping out your family or friends with that money.

Yeah. I always say that, uh, gratitude and generosity are the gateway to abundance.

Absolutely. And when you couple both of those together, and you do these acts of service to other people, and you're grateful instead of resentful, it just compounds.

It sure does. Yeah. Gratitude is, I really don't think, without gratitude, I don't know what your life looks like. Because that, certainly, there are people in the world that are not grateful that have a lot of money. Yeah.

However...

But they're not rich.

No, they are not. They're not. Their health, their relationships, their, you know, their friendships. They are not rich in any of those things. And, uh, and yeah, so I just think, I don't know. I, I just think we need...

There's one thing of being like having a lot of money, but it doesn't mean you're financially free.

Exactly. You could still be shackled to your money or to stress around it, or to people trying to steal it from you, or feeling not appreciated. You could still have all these emotions that make you feel...

Lack enough. So you could have money in the bank, but be financially poor.

You could totally be. And this, and the whole idea of this book is to be happy. It's not to be, you know, anything else. And I am not, I do not want anybody to put, make money their God.

No.

Don't do that.

No.

Because you do that, and and that'll be whisked away from you. Um, but to, to think that we don't deserve to think, to be in struggle, to be in pain, to be in fear. And I was all of those things, you know. I, I went through really difficult times. That's why I feel that I understand how people feel, um, when they're struggling. Because I, I would go to bed at night and I would feel sick in my stomach, not knowing how I was going to pay for my daughter's school fees and things like that. So, I know what that feels like. And honestly, if I can change my mindset, anybody can. Anybody.

And something you talk about, I love this. I just opened the book. It says, "Feel Happy Now."

Yeah.

Um, you have so many good moments throughout here that kind of trigger you into creating this abundance. And you mentioned this earlier about this book is about teaching you how to be happy because when you're, when you're happier, you're healthier, you feel free.

Yeah.

But if you're not happy because you're lacking something and you need, you need to wait until that happens to feel happy, it's probably never going to happen, or you'll never feel happy when you get it also. And I think...

The real strategy is figuring out how to be happy even if you feel like you're not getting what you want. Even if you feel like you're in stress, in lack, you, you don't, you're not creating what you want yet, because that happiness, that joy, that feeling will start to attract more of what you want.

Right.

Right. Exactly. And the thing is that to be feeling happy, you're on the abundant frequency.

Yes.

I mean, that's where everything you want is on that happiness frequency. It's like, be happy first, and then you just watch what happens.

Well, how, how does someone get happy when everything has gone wrong in their life?

Yeah. By not, uh, by not indulging in all of those memories.

Mhm.

You know, and, um, uh, not milking those memories, but look for the ones that are better than that, you know, the ones that make you feel good. And, um, yeah, just, I don't know, just, just making sure that you try and focus just a little, little more on the things that you want to happen because you can't look at the way things are and have them change. If you keep looking at the way things are, they're never going to change.

Say that one more time.

You can't look at the way things are and have it change.

So what do we need to do in order to make it change?

You got to look at where you want to be.

Mhm.

You have to look there. You have to be where you want to be. And then, and then you, and you know, anybody that's been successful, that's all they've ever done. They've had a dream. They've had a goal, and that is what has pulsated inside of them every day. Every day. To, "I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this." They became it actually before it happened.

Right? Everyone that's been successful, that is the formula because it's the only formula for creation. It's the only one.

Yeah. I mean, everyone with a, a goal or dream or vision, they didn't have it originally. It was an idea. They said, "Here's this dream or vision that I, that I want to create in my life." And they had to become someone who could bring that to their life. Right.

Exactly. So, you have to, you have to let go of something you've been holding on to, or you have to start thinking in a new way to draw that to you, is what I'm hearing.

Yeah. Thinking in a new way. And thinking more, um, more about what you want than what you don't want. And you can tell what you've been thinking because you can tell by the way that you feel. If you're feeling down in the dumps, if you're feeling, you know, the kind of heavy, and, you know, really don't want to go to work today, and all of that, then what has preceded that feeling is a whole lot of negative thoughts of what you don't want. But if you are thinking a lot of thoughts of what you want, you will feel happier, happier, happier, happier, happier. And then all of a sudden things start to manifest and things change and, you know, and you're like, "Whoa, I'm on a lucky streak. You know, this is happening." Just don't have the thought that this is too good to be true.

Ah, what happens when you say, "This is too good to be true"?

You end it all.

Wow, man.

Nothing is too good to be true. And, and what h, what about the people that are watching or listening that say, you know, Rhonda, I've been thinking positively for years, but I'm still not manifesting what I want. What would you say to that type of individual?

I know they think they've been thinking positively.

Um, but the law is infallible. You know,

It's infallible. So if you're thinking positively all of the time, then in your life, you're creating your life. So you're not creating somebody else's life. You know, things could happen outside of you. But in your life, if you are thinking positively, then everything around you should be 360 degrees change from what it was. It has, has been for me.

You know, there's something I, I feel like I had to shift my way of thinking from self-doubt, insecurity when I was much younger in my, you know, teen years, even early 20s.

Um, and I was working really hard to get results. Something shifted in me where I, I started to read more. I started to learn more. I got around wealthier people, found mentors, and I started to see their kind of behaviors and patterns and and language they would use. And I just started to say, "Everything I want comes to me, and I'm a very lucky person." Even when I didn't see it, I was just like, "Let me, even if it wasn't happening for me, I started to look for little micro ways that this was happening. How can I create luck and how can I stack kind of wins over wins over wins?" And all of a sudden then I would just start saying like, "I'm a very lucky person and things come to me randomly." And, you know, I have good fortune in my life. I would just start saying these things and then I would look for the good fortune. "Oh, look, here's a penny." It didn't even have to be a lot.

Yeah.

"See, this is confirming. Here's a penny. Someone complimented me today. I'm a lucky person. I have good fortune." Whatever it might be. I would just find any small act and be like, "That is confirmation." And I wouldn't focus on the things that I wasn't getting. I wouldn't focus on maybe the struggle that I was going through as well, or something not working out and say, "Uh, here's confirmation that I'm not lucky. This person didn't email me back, or this mentor turned me down." I wouldn't focus on the things that weren't working.

Instead, I would say, "That just wasn't meant for me. That wasn't going to set me up for the thing that, that I really want. So, I'm a, I have good fortune. I'm a lucky person. People want to be around me. People want to bring me opportunities. They want to give to me." And I would find the littlest confirmations, and then those confirmations would expand into massive confirmations. And I was just like, "See, I'm a lucky person." And you do that year after year, decade after decade, you start to really stack abundance.

Yeah.

And, and then appreciating that abundance has been something that I've been doing as well, as opposed to being frustrated when I'm not getting...

And appreciating and saying, "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." You have that in the book as well where you say, uh, we should be talking to our money, saying thank you to money. I think that's what it says in here. But it's like...

Thank you, paid. And things like that. And thank you for the money. Yeah. Thank you for the money that I've received. And because it, even if you are being grateful for the money that you've received in the past, for the law, this is no different. It's like, it's the law responds to that now.

It's all now. It's just responding now. I mean, I loved what you said because that's exactly the way it works. That's exactly. And what does that take to do that?

Not that hard. Not much.

It's not that hard because you were choosing to say those things instead of those things. So it's like, I, there's this, um, dear friend of mine in Australia, and she comes from a wealthy family. Uh, and she's a very sweet girl. And I became very close friends with her. Do you know the words that would come out of her mouth every day, all the time? "I am so blessed. I am so blessed in my life, Rhonda. I'm so blessed." That's what she would say every day. Every day. And do you know what? Oh my gosh. She was just blessed even more. Blessed even more. Blessed even more. I mean, that is the same kind of thing.

It's like a command.

Yes. It is a command.

It's like you speak a command.

Yeah.

In your life.

Yes.

And if you're speaking a negative command, you're going to confirm and receive that negative command in little or bigger ways.

Unfortunately. Yeah. And, you know, the more you speak a command of what you want, the more likely you're going to create it.

Mhm.

And our, and our, you know, I've heard a Navy SEAL say that our tongue is like a rudder. It's like, whatever you speak, it's like directing you on the path. Like you're like a boat and your tongue is a rudder and it's guiding you where you want to go. So we have to be very intentional, like you talk about in your book, about being grateful for the money you're receiving and not being, and I'll catch myself sometimes. It's not like I'm perfect at this.

Oh, yeah. We...

I have to catch myself sometimes where I'm frustrated about it not being a certain amount that I thought I was supposed to get or whatever it might be. And I'm like, "No, be grateful for this." Because if I'm going to be frustrated about a certain amount of money coming to me, it's going to stop coming to me more. It's going to be like, "Why would money want to come to me?"

Yeah.

If I'm speaking badly about it.

Yeah, you're going to be frustrated again. Like, something else is going to happen like you, that frustration will attract more frustration around money and more frustration around money. So, and it, and it's fast, you know, it, it manifests quite fast because that emotion is fairly strong. So, yeah.

And I love that you were kind of talking about throughout your book, you have these kind of moments to tell to remind us of things and you say, "Be grateful when you receive money." But you also said earlier, which I'm not even sure you're aware of, you said, "Be grateful for all the money you've received in the past." And you also have here, "Be grateful for the money you want as though you've already received it." So it's almost like a trilogy.

It's like, be grateful when the money comes in now. Whether it's a penny you see on the street or $1,000 or $10,000. It's like, be grateful now. Now, as if you're receiving it, like you just have. But also be grateful for what you got yesterday, when you were younger, last year. Appreciate that.

And I love that you talk about being grateful for the money you're going to receive in the future. It's coming my way. It's being present in the now, thanking the past for what's come to you, and thanking the future for the money coming to you soon. I...

Like being grateful. It's an actually an easy practice and it's one that's a little easier, maybe, for people who haven't felt abundance, is to be grateful for something before you've received it because that you're basically telling the universe that I have it. I mean, I use it for everything. For absolutely everything. Like last night I went to sleep, you know, "Thank you for the great time I'm going to have with Lewis tomorrow." You know, and, "Thank you, you know, it was just, I just had the best, best time with Lewis." And so I do it all the time as though I've already had it. I've already lived it and I'm thanking for it. And it's just, I don't know, gratitude is just incredible. There, I think there are like three gratitude practices in there. I think you're right in saying that. And, um, and they're essential. They're essential. And all of these things are free, you know? They're like, it's just all you're doing is you're exchanging these thoughts for these thoughts. But when you do that, your life will completely change. And on top of that, you're going to be happy.

That's the key.

You're going to be happy. You know, you're not, and the world will look different to you because when you're happy, you only come across happy people. You'll be like, "These people are so nice, and they were so helpful to me." And just every little detail in your life changes on the road. People let you in, you know, go ahead, go in, you know, go ahead of me. I mean, it's a completely different thing. Like, if I'm driving, and somebody, and somebody in Australia, we say, "Toot the horn." What do you say here?

Honk the horn.

Honk the horn, right? And somebody honks straight away. I know. I'm like, "What are you thinking? Where are you?" You know, lift your frequency up. Be grateful.

Yeah. I use everything. I use absolutely everything that's happening around me to for me to know h, how I'm doing and where I am.

Yeah. And one of these, uh, daily wealth attracting habits that you have in here is about creating your wish list.

Yeah.

And you say, and there's a quote in here, uh, from another author. It says, "If you wish to eliminate lack, concentrate on abundance." Uh, why should we create a wish list? That this is what we would want it to buy if money were no object? Like, if we were like, "Oh, I have all the money in the world, or I could buy anything I want." These would be those things. Why is that an important habit to practice?

Because they'll manifest.

Really?

Yeah. They'll manifest. And all, all of the, all of the really, the incredible entrepreneurs and really great business people. They have a one-year plan, they have a five-year plan, they have a three-year plan, and they write out things that would seem impossible, you know, to achieve, and they achieve them. It's so powerful to write down where you want to be and where you're going. And you know what? It's nothing to it. Like, and in this case, it is writing down the things that you want. It's no big deal. Just pretend, you know, just pretend. If money were no object, what would I do? You know, it's a real fun game. And then you write it down, and then that's that.

But then you watch, you know, so, yeah.

It's interesting you say that because someone on our team, uh, Sammy, she's got a screensaver on her phone with her vision board that she created at the end of last year, so 10, 11 months ago, right? And she was saying, I think this Monday on our team call, she was like, "I have accomplished everything on my vision board except for one thing." These were all like dreams.

Yeah.

They were like, "Maybe it'll happen. I don't know." But it was just like, it was a dream of what to do. She's like, "I want to travel to France. I want to do this. I want to be here." And all these things have happened this year. And she's like, "I've almost accomplished everything on my vision board."

And I want to go back and tell her, did you have big enough dreams? You know, it's like, think even bigger of what you wanted.

Totally.

Because you didn't know if you'd be able to accomplish these things.

Imagine if you created a wish list of what you wanted that was even beyond that.

Go big.

Go bigger.

Think big.

Go big. Think big.

You know, what have you got to lose? Think big. Go on. You know, and you can put lots of small things, you know, there too. You know, I want a new pair of Nikes, or I want this, or, you know, think small things. But yeah, think big things because one of the tricky things I think with people is they haven't ever stopped to think about what they want because they think they can't have it.

And so to think about what they want is too painful.

You know? So they don't, they don't do a list. That's the last thing they want to do.

It seems so far away.

It seems so far away and impossible. And it's just going to make me feel bad that I can never have it because I was born here, you know? I don't get those lucky breaks like the person over here that's really lucky. Right. Right. Right.

And, uh, yeah, so I, that's why it's so great to write a list because for many people who, who follow this, I bet they've never written a list before of what they want. No limits.

Yeah.

A a friend and mentor of mine who told me, you know, he grew up without a lot of money. He lived in Southern California, but he was probably two hours away from the ocean. But he always dreamed of like having a house by the beach in the ocean. M. And he's like, "When I was in my 20s, I would just visit the ocean and look at the houses." Then when I started to make a little money, I was still so far away from affording it. But I was like, "What if I just rent the house for a day to experience what it's like being in that kind of property, looking out on the beach?" And I think the closer we can get to dreaming it by writing it down and making a wish list, and then getting closer to the experience, even if you just touch it, touch the car you want to buy, touch the house that you want to live in, or rent the house for a night. You know, you can't buy the whole thing, but it's like rent something like it and see what that experience feels like for a day, for an hour, for a moment.

You can go on Sunset Boulevard and rent a Ferrari for 30 minutes if you want to, you know, for a hundred bucks.

Experience the feeling, right? Get around the feeling.

So good.

And you, you have a whole chapter in here about wealth affirmations. And one of them is, "Money flows to me effortlessly and easily." And, "I have more money coming in than going out." What's another wealth affirmation that you really use or you like people using as well?

That I use? Um, I use quite a lot. Uh, I love, "I am wealth."

Mhm.

Just that really short, "I am wealth." Um, "Money comes to me effortlessly and easily" is something that I say all, something that I say all the time. Yeah.

Yeah. Because just, you know, just so it flows. And one of the things about more money coming in than going out is that most people have more money going out than coming in. You know, if you're in debt, if you've got credit card debt, if you are really struggling with money, if you are living paycheck to paycheck, and all of those things, I want everybody to know, I lived all of those things. I was there. If you're there, I was there. I know what it feels like. And, um, so if you're experiencing all of that, you can change all of that. You really can. And I'm not saying, [clears throat] pardon me, I'm not saying to go and get, go out and get three jobs and, you know, work 24 hours a day. I'm not saying that at all. Do what you love to do. Most certainly, because what you love doing, what you love to do, you'll be successful at it. Because if you love it, love is just like the highest attractor that there is, you know? So, if you love it, you're going to be successful at it. And as long as fear doesn't come in, "Oh, I hope this lasts. This is too good to be true." [laughter]

You know, fear comes in, "Oh, it's not as good as it was last year," or, you know, all of those kinds of doubtful thoughts, you know? So you've got to stay on top of it. You've got to notice those thoughts and jump on them right away. You would think that people would [clears throat] realize this sooner, that having love in your heart, being positive, being kind, grateful, and generous, and expressing that energy to everyone and everything around you, is an attractor for opportunities, not just around money, but creating beautiful relationships, having beautiful experiences in life.

Yeah.

But when we think negative thoughts, when we have a negative attitude, when we have hate in our heart versus love, that energy is going to radiate and it's just not going to create beautiful opportunities for us.

It is so clear. And I used to have a lot of negative thinking, but it is so clear for me that how I show up in the world with a positive attitude, a positive, loving heart, gratitude and generosity, only creates more of that in my life. Yeah. Yeah.

And if I think negatively, negatively, if I think about gossip, or I'm judging people, it's going to make me feel less than.

Yeah, for sure.

And it's going to block my abundance.

It will.

But why is it, if people know this, and hopefully they know it, why is it so hard to do it consistently?

Because I, I think you have to be very determined and you have to be diligent about your mind. You really. And we're all in the same boat. Nobody has a free pass on this, you know. We all have really the same kind of mind, the same kind of thoughts coming up. It's just slightly different things in the subconscious, but we are all carrying a lot of world beliefs. You know, most of the beliefs are world beliefs. So, so you, you just need to, you really need to watch your mind and become the witness. And even if, even if you, like, you start to, somebody's talking to you and it's about some kind of gossip, and you're like, right into it, and then you're like, "Whoa, what am I doing?"

What am I doing? You can backtrack. Just go back. Just step back and say, you know what? You know what? We don't know the full story. You know, we, we're not, we're not in their shoes. You know, let's just bless them and get on with our life, you know, kind of thing, and just be more like that.

I mean, judgment is the undoing of so many people's lives. Really and truly, judgment is the undoing. Oh, the undoing. What does that mean? It, it means that people are judging all day long. And that is one of the most negative ways of thinking is to judge others.

Why? Why is judgment one of the most negative ways of thinking? Because there's only one being. Even though it seems like there's a lot, that seems like there's 8 billion or however many billion, um, it, it seems like there's all these different people. In terms of the law, there's only one. And so when you are critical of another, you're actually being critical of yourself. The law is hearing. It's all about you.

So when you're kind, you see, and when you're generous, and when you're grateful, all of that, even though you're giving it out so sincerely to somebody else, actually the law is just all for you. It's all coming back to you, to you, to its source. When you hate, when you criticize, when you complain, when you blame, when you judge, it's all coming back to you. And it is not pretty what can happen, you know, on those frequencies. It just isn't pretty.

So, we've got to be diligent, you know, we've got to watch our mind and we have to pick ourselves up. And I've done it, you know, I've done it. Like, I watch my mind. And and even sometimes I would, um, I'd realize a couple of days later that I had done something. I'm like, "Oh, no. Oh, no." So, do you know what I do? I would go back in my mind to that situation. I would replay it in my mind and I would not do what I did.

Interesting. I would do, I would take the positive path and I would replay that. And so I would cancel it out. Some people watching or listening right now might be like, man, you're a great time traveler. You know, it's like [laughter] you're this spiritual emotional time traveler. And they might think that sounds a little weird, but I've done a lot of that in my life where I've had to heal memories and wounds of the past that had blocked me, that made me feel frustrated or resentful or holding on to grudges. And I've had to go back in time in my mind and almost relive those moments as an adult and as the the the version of myself at those time periods and kind of create a new harmony with myself, like a a healing process that allows me to feel at peace internally.

So, and if I was listening to this when I was like 16, I'd be like, who is this Lewis and Rhonda person? These guys are like weird, right? I'd have been like, that just sounds a little strange, but I will take strange all day if it gives me peace.

Yeah, exactly. And I think I think that practice was a practice of Neville Goddard's, um, one of the new thought leaders, and he called it the pruning shears of revision. And what does that look like? And that's when you go back and you relive it in the way that you wanted it to be. You just go back. But you see, for the law, there's only now. Right. And so you go back in your mind and you relive it and you correct. You make it go a different way. And I would do that until I didn't feel any bad feeling inside anymore. And then I'd know that I'd done it.

Yeah. You're talking about [clears throat] on page 150. Mhm. You say the laws of nature and the spiritual laws all operate in the present moment. Now, what you just said right there.

Yeah. You said, and I wanted to ask you, how does our environment, our community, or even the energy of others influence what we attract?

Um, only if we, they influence us only if we buy into it, really. Right. So, um, if we, if we buy into, oh, some negative situation, like we've really got to be very, very picky about what we let into our life and the kinds of people that we have around us and whether we want to listen to the news and whether we want to, you know, all of those things. Like, we have to be picky about it. And if you can listen to something and not have any emotional charge around it, you're good. You're good.

Yes. But if you have an emotional charge, it's going in. Yeah. You have to keep a neutral energy.

Exactly. You receive information.

Yep. Which is really hard to do if you're empathetic or compassionate and you really care deeply. And you see trauma or pain or suffering or murder or wars and you feel the pain. And I'm not saying you should, you know, you should not have compassion for what's happening in the world. But I don't think we should be entertained by the news and allowing it to affect us that much where it holds us back every day after every day thinking the world is horrible and you know, what's the point of all this and you're just like in doomsday all day.

Yeah, that's right. And it's not like that at all. The world is not like that. News is focused on the hot spots.

Yeah. You know, I worked in news. I know it's focused on the hot spots. And you know, we would with a camera, you know, if there was a fire, we would look for the biggest, like flames, even though across the street was totally good, you know, we'd be looking for the really big stuff, the dramatic stuff. Oh yeah. It's like a little bird's eye view of what is really, really bad. And so they, they are the hot spots. And on the rest of the planet, my God, it's so beautiful. It's beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. And there are way more, way more really wonderful, wonderful people who are kind and who have a big heart than there are people that are not, you know. I, the world is full of really beautiful people.

Yes. Yeah. And so the news doesn't make us feel like that. And it's exactly what you, you know, oh my God, the world's, you know, the world is just had it. My I have friends who the first thing they'll say to me is, "How do you feel about the world and everything that's going on in the world?" And I'll be like, "It's all on track and unfolding exactly as it should be. It's all fine. It's all fine."

Is a really good outcome to this. Really good, right? For everyone. Yeah. For everyone who's ever lived. And who's living and who will ever live. It's a really good outcome. It's all cool.

Yeah. Speaking of people who have lived and who are no longer with us, does the law of attraction still apply after death?

It applies. [clears throat]

And do you believe our energy continues after we die in creating beyond the physical world?

Um, certainly law of attraction plays a part in death, but after that, uh, after, and it, and the frequency we go out on is the frequency we come back in at.

Interesting. Yeah. So it makes a big difference what you do in this life.

Yeah. You know, don't waste it. Like, really. And, uh, but the in between part is, and, and for some, that in between part is nothing. It's like a day, an hour. It's nothing. You know, it depends how attached you are to the world. If you're really attached to the world, you'll be bouncing back really fast, 'cause that attachment will bring you back. So, law of attraction is definitely on the way, on on the way out, um, in terms of creating your life. But then your frequency and what and how conscious you are when you go out is the consciousness that you have when you come back in. Therefore, it would be the kind of country you come back into or the kind of parents you have or.

Yeah. Got it. What would you say is the difference between wanting more money and being aligned to money?

Oo. Well, being aligned to wanting more money is you don't have it, right? And being aligned with it sort of suggests you've got it. So, I think being aligned is better. Is better. Yeah. Yeah. [laughter]

How do we start to align ourselves to to money, um, in another way that we haven't talked about yet? Is there any other way that we should be thinking about this?

One of the things, the f, my one of my favorite practices in that book, and it's probably one of the simplest, but also one of the hardest, because it requires you to be very mindful. And so it's turning outgoing money into incoming money.

How do we do that?

And so you do it by every time that money goes out, in your mind, you, you pretend, you make believe that that money that you're receiving that money.

It, it's like a check or someone's handing you money.

Yeah. So, I've got to write a check for a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, and you write that check for a bill or. But you, but then you imagine that you're receiving it. As you give it, you're like imagining you're receiving it.

What happens when we make that imagination? When we spend money, we're receiving it. Because then your money is going to increase dramatically. Yeah. Yeah. So, take your really big amounts that you pay out for, like rent, you know, of a studio and that kind of thing. And when you give it out, as you give it out, just imagine that you're receiving it and be grateful. Thank you. Thank you for this money. And I'm talking about when you get your coffee, when you fill up with gas, when you go to the supermarket, in your whole day, every time you hand your credit card over, every time you pay out money, imagine that you are receiving that money instead. The difference, like you do that one thing, one thing alone, because why? Because most people when they're paying out money, they feel bad, right? They're like.

Feel like what? Like I'm losing this money.

Yeah. I'm now, I'm not going to have. How am I going to have enough to pay the rent? Or, you know, when they go to an ATM and they look at their balance and they're like, oh, how am I going to have enough to do this or enough to do that? So when you do this practice, it's actually making you think about receiving money and being grateful to receive money. And you are at the same time taking out all of those negative feelings about lack. That is a big attractor.

So it's good.

Yeah. 'Cause when you feel bad, I mean, I guess a lot of people have a trigger when they spend money. It makes them feel good for a moment, right? It's like, I'm buying this thing to feel good.

Yeah. Because I'm lacking the feeling good already. So this thing's going to make me feel better. But then you're like, "Oh, I don't want to look at my bank account because I realize how much money I'm losing that I don't have in there anymore." So, I'm either afraid of that, looking at it, or I feel bad later that I spent that money. So, then I go spend a little bit more to feel good on something else to get that feeling again. Right.

Yeah. I, I've had that for for sure before. And.

And vacations.

Oh, yeah. Right. A lot of people will, they'll go on vacation and they'll be like, they're putting the vac, half the vacation or all the vacation on a credit card. They don't even want to think about it, you know, or they're going on a a trip, a world trip or whatever, and, you know, the credit cards here, there, and everywhere, and they come back to all this debt, all of this debt. So.

So if you go and buy something to feel good in the moment, but then you put yourself in debt and then you feel shameful later.

You feel guilt.

What, what happens with that transfer of energy?

More money is taken.

Really?

From you. Yeah.

You go into more and more debt.

You, it's because you, because you're in lack, because you're focused on lack. So, we attract whatever we're thinking. So, if it's lack, we attract more lack. And that can look like things breaking down, the bill being way bigger than you thought, three times bigger, you know, that this that you need all the time. Your insurance has got like doubled. You know, this has happened, that healthcare has gone like, all of those things. It, there are so many areas it of lack that you can bring into your life. And the thing is, when you're focused on those things, you're inviting that. That's what you're doing. You're inviting it into your life. We don't realize, you know, that's that's inviting. Like the universe is like, I'm going to give you whatever you want.

Whatever you want. You just think it and I'm going to give it to you. And I'm not going to make any judgment about whether you want it or not. I'm just going to give it because that's how special you are. So, if you're thinking frustration or lack, it's going to give you more of that. More lack.

Uh, I was talking to someone that I know recently who said their rent went up like $500 a month. And they were looking to use that money to go, you know, get a lease on a new car that would have been $500 bucks a month, but then they decided not to because it's going towards the rent. Let's say someone watching or listening has a bill that increased recently. How can they reframe in their minds about the increase of payment that they have to pay now, or they get to pay now, in order to make it a positive spin rather than, oh my gosh, I'm already struggling financially. Now I've got to pay more for the phone bill, more for the electricity, more for the home insurance, whatever it is. How do we reframe that and say, you know, so it's a a positive reframe?

I would, and I did this practice. I did this practice. I would, as I paid it out, I would first of all pretend I'm not paying a bill, but I'm donating. I'm donating this money because I love this organization. This organization gives fantastic service, and I'm don, I'm donating it. And by donating this money, what is going to happen? I'm going to help to put food on the table of all the employees, including all those truck drivers. I'm going to help to pay for the children's, you know, school school books and things like that. I'm going to help to pay for their mortgages so they've got safety and security in their home. And, you know, writing in, in donating this money, I'm even helping them, you know, go on vacation. All of the people that work for this organization, I feel really good about that. And really, really feel it. I used to do it and I used to just feel so teary 'cause I would think about, and that is, you know, your money is going into their salaries. Like it's not a wild claim, it is doing all of that. Like with a company or everything they receive is going. Yes, they have profits, but they're paying all their employees, and their employees use that money to put food on the table, to look after their children, to pay for that medical thing or whatever. Feel the good that you're doing. And I would always, always, always, I'm donating this money.

I love that reframe because it's reclaiming your power of your energy rather than it being, ah, I'm frustrated. I have to keep spending this every month, or it just went up. It's shifting your energy from frustration to empowerment.

Exactly. And when you shift your energy from frustration to empowerment, people feel that energy when you're around them. You have a better attitude. You have better energy. Yeah. And then it brings better opportunities or better engagements with the people around you. You're impacting people in a more positive way.

And so you may not have money coming to you right away that way, but you're going to feel happier. And I think that's what this is all about is feeling better, feeling happier so you can attract what you want.

Yeah, it is. It's, you know, ultimately, like, pardon [clears throat] me, ultimately all we want to do is feel happy.

Yes. That's it. You know, we don't, we we think that if we have all of these things, then I'm going to be happy. And, you know, a lot of people have told us that when they got all of those things, they're in real trouble.

Yeah. Why? Why is that?

Well, they're in real trouble because they weren't happy.

Ah, and this doesn't make them happy. They had that dream, they had that dream all their life and they're like, once I have that, once I get there, then I'm going to be happy. And then they got the success or whatever, and they got there, and they're not happy.

Now you're really screwed.

And now they're empty because they're like, "Yeah, exactly. Now you're really screwed."

Totally. Because where do I go now? I don't have a dream anymore. And, yeah. And I know a few people that that has happened to, and they've, you know, got really depressed. And, yeah. And they've had everything that they always thought was going to make them happy. So happiness is really all that we want in the end.

It is. Yeah. We only want those things because we think we'll be happy having those things.

It truly is a, you know, there is something for, you know, gratitude, prayer before moments, setting an intention before a meal and saying, "Thank you for this food. Thank you for the people that prepared this. Thank you for the people that, thank you for the money that allowed me to buy this." Thinking of the process of you receiving food and thanking it. Thanking the animals, thanking the plants, whatever it might be. Being grateful for it. There is a, there's a process of appreciating that brings you more joy. When we are grateful, when we're appreciative, it brings us more happiness and joy and peace, and that unlocks opportunities.

Oh, it does. Yeah, it, it, it just your whole world will change, you know. And even if, even if you're starting out with this and you start to have these positive thoughts and, and then you think, you know, you're like, I feel like I'm lying. Like, I don't really feel all these things. Don't you worry. You just keep going. You just keep saying all those positive things because it will not be long before you're feeling them. So, just keep at it. Keep doing it. Keep looking for the positive, and then you're going to feel it. Then you will feel it. And I know, and, and I'm, as you're saying that, I'm reflecting back when I was like 24, 25, sleeping on my sister's couch, broke. Had no money, three credit cards, uh, living off three credit cards, student loan debt, and relying on my sister to feed me every day. It doesn't feel good. It doesn't feel good when you can't provide for yourself, when you can't take care of others. It doesn't feel good.

So, I remember this season of life vividly. And I remember probably six or seven months where I was feeling very low, right? I was like, Right. Believing the situation I was in. I was confirming it over and over again. I was frustrated, and I was playing the victim role of, look at what happened in my life.

Yeah. Right. Right. And I was living in that.

Yeah. No. And then it gets worse.

Right? Whoa. But I remember I said, I have a decision to make. I can stay in this and stay on my sister's couch and stay stuck in credit card debt. And there is some validation that comes with playing that role. Like some people will come and say, "Oh yeah, your life is hard," or "Here's a little money." You, you'll get some like sympathy or attention for playing that role. Like there's some benefit to staying there, right?

Yeah. Some people feel good in that role.

They feel good in it. I didn't feel good. It didn't feel good to me. I remember just feeling like, uh, how am I going to live my life? And how am I going to get a girlfriend or anything? I was like, "How am I going to, I can't provide for myself. Do I want to live on my sister's couch forever?" I, I want to feel like a, I'm a grown [snorts] man that can take care of myself, but I couldn't. And I just remember said, I'm going to do whatever it takes to shift my energy on a daily basis. And I'm going to be grateful for what I have instead of complaining. I'm going to be grateful for my sister, grateful that I have a couch to sleep on, grateful that she's given me food that I can have right now, and appreciate it. Uh, anytime I get a chance to meet a potential mentor, I'm going to be very curious and attentive and thanking them for their time, appreciating it. The more I appreciated other things and people and environments, the more I appreciated and valued with those people, and they wanted to support me more and more opportunities came to me. So I just really believe I want to focus on this so much that gratitude, appreciation, feeling good even when you don't feel good, is part of the process to creating more of what you want.

Yes. And you're not going to, you know, it, if, if you're on a lower frequency, if you're really down in the dumps and you're on a, you're on a low frequency, when you start to be grateful for things, you are not going to feel it 'cause you're on that low frequency. But every single thing that you do is going, every thought you have, every grateful thought will lift you a little bit higher, a little bit higher, a little bit higher. And you know what you're going to do? And it's really fast. It's not that it's going to take you months. Not at all. It's really fast. Like I would defy anybody to do gratitude in the morning and you just watch what happens in the afternoon of that day. You know, you be really grateful to the point where, I mean, I used to have tears in my eyes. I was that grateful. That was my, yeah. That was my thing that, um, I would, before I got out of bed, I would go through all of the things that I'm grateful for, and I would do it until I had tears in my eyes because then I knew that my heart had melted. And you really, really do it until you feel it, until you really feel it. And then you watch what happens. You can change your whole day. You can change, change everything. And that is just from a tiny little thing, you know. So like when you're getting ready, is maybe a good idea, and it's, it's often a good idea to tie it into one of your daily tasks, like when I get dressed, or when I have a shower, or when I'm cleaning my teeth. Something that you're doing every single day. This is when I do this. Because the subconscious mind will take that. This is a habit. You do it for like three or so days, and the subconscious mind will then kick in and remind you and give you the thought, you got to be grateful. And you'll remember, when I'm cleaning my teeth, I'm being grateful for this and this and this. And so if you tie it in, for a start, you're thinking thoughts of gratitude, and you're stopping negative thinking. Like, that's one of the things I think in listening to the wealth affirmations, that as when people get into bed at night and they're falling asleep, that is one time when they are thinking about all the things that went wrong that day and how they should have handled this better, that better, that went wrong, that didn't happen the way that I wanted it to happen. And, you know, how on earth am I going to, you know, get more money or whatever. And, or then they're dreading tomorrow. So, they're going to bed with all of these thoughts of, of kind of regurgitating everything that happened in that day and then projecting that into the next day. But when you're listening to these affirmations, and you are listening, right? You've got to listen because that gives the mind something to do. You're going to wake up happy.

Mhm. And the reason you're going to wake up happy is because you didn't think any negative thoughts as you went to sleep.

It's true. Yeah.

That's true. I mean, you say in the book that gratitude multiplies money. And we're talking about joy, happiness, gratitude.

These are all free things.

Free. Yeah. It doesn't cost money. You don't have to go buy something to develop a tool or get some new skill set that takes a ton of time and energy.

This is literally in a shift in a second and repeating that shift throughout your day, weeks, and years, and that energy will expand.

Uh, there's another part of the book where you say, "Your wish is my command." What is this process of asking and receiving, and you call it your wish is my command?

Okay. Because I, I, I use an example of Aladdin and the genie.

Yeah. And, um.

You've got this in the book. Yeah. With a little lamp and money coming out of it, which I like.

Yeah. And in Aladdin and the genie, and genie in the current story, he gets three wishes. But the original story was unlimited wishes because this was a story that was created to show how life works.

Yeah. And so, and so if you think of, um, universal law, or whatever you want to call it, the law that governs our mind, when you think of that law, that law is, uh, is governing your mind at all times. So, and it is operating only on one thing, your thought. Like, it is sometimes called, like in the East, it's like called the law of karma. So, it is operating only on your thought. That is it. And so whatever you think, the law says, "Your wish is my command." "I don't want to go there. I don't want to do that. My boss is really mean to me. He's never kind. He's just, every time I go to that supermarket, it costs me way more than I ever want. Fuel's gone up again. I can't believe it." You know, I'm taking all that back. Universe.

I'm very grateful for the fuel. I'm grateful for the supermarket. I'm grateful for all of those things. But you're saying those things. Every single thought you say, "Your wish is my command." "Your wish is my command." You just asked for it. You just commanded it. You're just getting it.

And you are, you're saying it to yourself then? Are you saying, if you're asking for it, do you also reply to yourself?

"Your wish is my command."

I, I know that the law is responding with. It's saying it.

"Your wish is my command."

Got it. Got it.

Yeah. So that's for all of us. Every single thought, you know. So every thought, that's why when you're grateful, when you're grateful for something, and the universe says, "Your wish is my command," because whatever you are grateful for, you're going to get more of it. It is going to multiply.

I believe that.

Yeah. And so when you're kind, my, "Your wish is my command." You know, when you say something kind, when you're nice to somebody, when you help them out, or, you know, you just do something like it makes you feel so good, you know, to just do, especially to do something for strangers. Like there's that in the book, too. Um, just, I mean, it just makes you feel really, really good and brings you out of your head and all of those thoughts and everything, and and just brings you to, brings you into your heart. And, you know, if we were more in our heart rather than in our head, you know, it'd be a really different world. What has been the the biggest struggle you've faced over the last 20 years with all the success that has come into your life? [snorts] Because it sounds like before The Secret, you weren't as prepared to receive a lot as you are now because you were struggling. You like you were getting some wins here and you were growing, but then you were struggling financially, and it was like, it was work. It was like a struggle. Sound like, like it you were able to figure out life in certain ways and accomplish certain goals, but it wasn't like this freedom.

Right.

What has been the biggest challenge in the last 20 years of having the success that you have through The Secret and the platform you've built that you've had to overcome?

Wow. I can think of so many before The Secret, but not as many after The Secret. Because a lot of people think about the, the weight of old, the pressure of success, the, the attention, the awareness about you that people are coming after you or now this or whatever's happening.

Oh, okay.

Did you have to?

Yeah, I had to modify things when The Secret was first released 'cause I would get like stopped in the street. And but all of that was really beautiful because it wasn't like I was any celebrity. People were like, "My mother gave it to me," and they were all, it was so beautiful, telling me everything that had happened in their lives. Um, but, you know, if I went out to a restaurant, you know, I'd have a lot of people coming up to me and everything. And.

But did you ever sabotage or like say, "Wow, this is way too like, did you ever think this is way beyond my wildest wishes? Like it's so much abundance. Maybe I should not have as much." Or did you ever have like a thought that brought you back, or that held you back in any way?

No. Not like, no, not like, "Oh, this is this is too much. I got to deserve it or something like that."

I mean, I just responded by, uh, I moved. I was living in, at that time, I was living in Santa Monica, and I moved out, which is really what I wanted to do, like be more peaceful, in a more spiritual place. So I, I did that. And I didn't really want to change things. I mean, there have been, you know, oh, actually, no. I think, you know, I think about my, my mother passed. And, you know, that's like, that's an incredible story because my mother, my my father died really suddenly. So it was 2004, toward the end of 2004, that I discovered The Secret. But my father dying on the 1st of March was the, the, the downhill for me.

Really?

Oh, wo.

What year is this?

This was 2004. And I just, that was the first thing that happened. And then, oh my gosh, it was just one thing after another. I was making all these movies for television, and, um, oh, and they were about murder. The worst possible subject. And so I was, my health, everything, my friends, everything. I kind of lost almost everything. And that was how I like collapsed in despair. Um, and, uh, and that's when that night that I discovered The Secret. But really, my father had died on the 1st of March. And so my mother, that night, she called me. My accountant called and said, "You've, you're $2 million in, and you're going to be, and you're going to lose everything in 30 days." That's what he said to me. It was the first phone call. I hung up the phone. I think it was a hardline. Then I hung up the phone, and straight away it rang, and I thought it was him again, and I said, "Hi." And he, and it was my mother, who I could not recognize 'cause she was so distraught with grief. And, um, she's really tough, but she, she was done. She was done. And she was really young. So, uh, so anyway, she, um, I just, I kind of got her as good as I could. I told her I'd be, she was a long way away, so I told her I'd go and see her the next day, and I hung up the phone. And that, I honestly, I just collapsed in despair 'cause I've always like fixed everything all my life. I fixed everything. I was the oldest child, and I was just like, I'm responsible. You know, I got to fix it. I'll fix it. You know, I'll sort it.

I could not fix this. Like these two things that happened, I was, there was no way. Like I couldn't. And I just, I really just collapsed in absolute despair. And, um, yeah, and that's when my daughter handed me "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles on photograph paper, all screwed up. And I, you know, 90 minutes, my life changed.

Really?

Changed totally. Absolutely. I knew everything when I read that book. I honestly, I knew he didn't die. I knew everything. And it's not in the book. It's not in the book, but I knew it. Like I was just like this massive kind of download. But what I wanted to say was, I went to my mother. So I realized all of these things, but what I gave to her was gratitude, because he had one whole chapter of gratitude in his book.

Really?

Yeah. And so I went to her and I gave her gratitude, and I said, "Mom, this is what you need to do." Oh my gosh, you should have seen what happened to her life. And she only used gratitude.

Really?

Yeah. She, she just, she just be got, like she was really struggling for money. Money just came from everywhere. She had, she was saying, "All these marks on my body have just disappearing." You know, I've had all these things for my life, and they're all just gone. And she was so happy. She traveled the world. She did all these, you know, incredible things. And she did it all from gratitude.

Yeah. So, but, you know, I was thinking about, well, what about, you know, when my mother passed? But, um, but even then, you know, I always imagined, I always thought, how am I ever going to be on the planet without my mom?

Really?

You know, she was just like, you know, best friend. And I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. All I can say is make the most of every minute. But do you know what I did?

Really?

I told my mother. Because after I discovered The Secret, I used every moment. I would recollect things in my childhood and tell her how much it meant to me, what she did, and how how incredible she was on our vacations, and thanked her for everything she did, 'cause those vacations were incredible. I just, one thing after another after another. So when she passed, I didn't, there was nothing unsaid.

That's good. You know, that's a big deal. And I knew she didn't die, you know. So, and she knew she didn't die, which was really great. She was not afraid. God, my mother, she just, she just went out of here with grace. Absolute grace.

Wow. Yeah. She, she was incredible. Yeah.

Well, that's beautiful. Wow. I have a lot of peace in my heart right now just listening to you and hear this whole process because I think a lot of people are struggling and suffering in the world right now. And it sounds like you were going through a really, struggle, suffering moments. You had a lot of things that were kind of knocking you down before you had this big breakthrough, before you had this download, this awakening, this knowing around The Secret and what it would create for you and create for others. Do you believe that suffering plays a big part in people's lives around what they need to learn to create more abundance and freedom? What's your thoughts around suffering?

It's funny, isn't it? Because, um, you know, I hit rock bottom. And when we were making The Secret film, and I was reaching out to all of these incredible teachers that I'd read, all of their books and everything, they were like heroes to me. They wanted to know before they agreed to do the documentary, what was my story? And so my sister, who was handling that part of the production, would tell them exactly what happened, and they would say, "I'll do it," because, because I hit despair like that. Like, do you know, they were like, sleeping in phone booths. They were homeless. They were, they had nothing. All of these teachers, they were all abundant. And, um, and so they knew that if I had hit rock bottom like that, that that was genuine, that I really, really did have like this awakening. And, um, yeah. So.

Do you think people need to go through suffering in order to create abundance?

Not at all.

Okay. It just happened for some people, but it doesn't have to happen.

It doesn't have to happen. Okay. That's, that's really why I think I do what I do, and probably what you do what you do, right?

Yeah. Because it doesn't have to be like that at all. No, suffering doesn't equal, um, you know, life, life getting better. It just, that's the way it happened for me. Um, because I was misfix it.

But you also had to make a choice to get out of that suffering.

I did.

You had to choose, and then choose daily.

I did.

'Cause you could have stayed in that suffering.

Yeah. And I mean, I did things like, like I had reading glasses on at that time, and this was like 20 years ago. So I was using glasses to read books and, you know, reading, and I would have them on and off and on and off. And then the moment I discovered The Secret, I was like, that's a belief. Oh my God. I would just hear all the words, you know, "Oh, I'm getting older now. I'm need glasses." You know, uh, "Well, you wait, you see," you know. And so I took all of the situations where I struggled to see in restaurants with dim lighting, on a on a plane, you know, when the lights are all off. I took all of these things, and I imagined myself seeing clearly. And my mantra was, "I can see clearly. I can see clearly." Now, this is how kind of wet behind the ears I was, because I expected when I came out of my visualization, I expected that I didn't need my glasses. I was like, "I'm not going to need these glasses." But it took 3 days.

Really?

And I've never used them.

Really?

No.

How long were you using glasses for before that? Like reading glasses?

I needed to up them. So about 5 years. And I needed to like take them up to the next level.

Really? Yeah. Yes.

And so you made a command.

I sure did. And you know what? I had no doubt. I knew.

I absolutely knew. And one of the doctors who was in The Secret film, when I told him what had happened, he said, "Do you have any idea what had to happen to your eyes for you to be able to see like that?" And I said, "No, thank goodness." I had no, 'cause if I knew that, then that would be impossible, right? I just had absolutely no doubt. Oh my gosh, that was a belief. I can just change that.

That's beautiful. Yeah.

What did Bob Proctor say? "If you can see it in your mind,"

"You'll hold it in your hand."

"You'll hold it in your hand." And you had this. Even though you weren't able to see at that moment, in your mind, you were able to see it.

I could, I knew it.

And then I guess you didn't have to hold reading glasses in your hand anymore. So you could, you could release that.

Yeah. If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand. Uh, you have this book, "Countdown to Riches: 21 Days of Wealth-Attracting Habits." The thing I love about this the most is you can go through this in probably an hour.

Uh, it's beautiful. It's a visual experience, and it gives you very simple practices every day for 21 days to create power in your life and to create you more, more tools to feel better and to create a better experience in your life as well. And if you do this and you follow this every single day for 21 days and then keep repeating it, you're going to create more opportunities in your life. I know it. So, I want everyone to get this book, "Countdown to Riches: 21 Days of Wealth-Attracting Habits," uh, by our good friend Rhonda Byrne, who is the creator of The Secret. And I'm assuming many people here have watched our previous interviews, and, uh, you probably have her books as well, but make sure you get a copy for yourself, get one for a friend. Um, is there anything else that's on your heart or mind that you think people should really know before we wrap things up?

Um, probably, uh, probably just that they're worthy and deserving of everything, really. And, um, I know that they're eternal beings. They might not know it, you know, but they are eternal beings and they've done a few rounds around here. [laughter] But, uh, yeah, just, just chill and really just stop and smell the daisies, as they say, and and just do your best to be here now.

Yeah. Right. And not let your mind take you to the past and project into the future, but just like, just be here now because, oh my gosh, here now is just really is divine.

It's beautiful. Rhonda, I want to acknowledge you for constantly showing up and creating tools, teaching books, content that inspire, that impact, that help us become better in our lives. This is a powerful one. "Countdown to Riches," "The Secret," obviously, you've done so many other great books, "The Greatest Secret," which I liked as well. Um, so I acknowledge you for constantly showing up. You know, you've got 35 million plus books out there in the world. You don't have to keep doing this.

You don't have to keep creating. You've made tons of money. You've got a great life. You have a harmonious experience. Um, but I, I appreciate and value you in how you keep showing up in service, the best way you can, to help other people, and you're making a difference in my life and everyone watching and listening.

And, uh, I've asked this before, but I'm curious, your definition, now, the final question, what's your definition of greatness?

H, maybe for me now, it's knowing the truth.

Mhm. Yeah. Knowing the truth. And, um, because I, I, I really know that there's only one real purpose for us, each of us, and that is to discover who we are.

And who we are is greatness multiplied by infinity. And how do you find who you are?

Here now. M.

Sacred door.

There you go. Yeah.

Love it. Rhonda, thanks for being here. Appreciate you.

Thank you, Louis. Love it.

Amazing. Thank you. If you want to become abundant, study abundant people. Get, get as much knowledge and [music] resources, enough connections in your brain so you have a, you have a storehouse of information for you [music] can dream what it is to be abundant. Because if you study abundant people, they made a lot of mistakes. They got people betrayed.
