MAKING THE BEST OF OPEN DOORS AND DIVINE OPPORTUNITIES (PART 1)

Jesus Evangelical Assembly27:41

Transcription

An opportunity is an appropriate or favorable circumstance. It could be a condition, could be a situation that is favorable for you to quickly for something to be achieved. A favorable event, a favorable occasion. Could be an appropriate chance, an opening. Could be an appropriate or favorable place or location, an environment to get something done. It could also be a position that enables you to do certain things. Could be an office, yeah, an office that enables you to achieve certain things. So it is a favorable time or circumstance for something specific to be done, something specific to be achieved, to be addressed, to be provided, to be solved, to be gained or benefited. And we also made it clear that when certain things are available, it has that is an opportunity. So the availability of what is required to do something is an opportunity. Availability of what is required to achieve something, provide a need, solve a problem, gain something or benefit something.

Also opportunities have to do with asset. Asset, the people you have access to is an opportunity that others don't have. Where you can enter that others cannot enter is an opportunity you have. So when there is sufficient asset for something specific to be done is an opportunity. When there is sufficient assets for something to be solved, to be achieved. Blind Bartimaeus understood this. And so as Jesus passed by on his way into Jerusalem, he cried out for his intervention, and that was the day he got his miracle. Mark 10:46-52.

And we've also highlighted some vital lessons about opportunities. And I, I would like you to please note each one of them. The first lesson is that there are benefits that come with windows of opportunity. There are benefits that come with windows of opportunity because opportunities will often involve a goal to be achieved, a need to be addressed, a problem to be solved, something to benefit from that window of opportunity, something to gain, a potential to be realized. You may have the opportunity to just travel somewhere, but but there is something more that you could gain from that visit, from that trip, a potential to be maximized.

Lesson number two, there are different types of opportunities. Different types of opportunities. They are hidden opportunities, there are rare opportunities, rare opportunities, there are lifetime opportunities. And our senior citizens above the age of 70 know better because in the journey of life, you may wrongly assume that certain opportunities available today will always be there. But those who have walked through the journey of life for seven decades have come to realize that there are opportunities that will never come again. So there are lifetime opportunities. So some people have had big opportunities. There are what we call big opportunities. And one of the things that God can do for you is that when you are approaching a season of big opportunities, lifetime opportunity, one of the things God will do for you is to make you hear a message like this to prepare you, so you will catch it, you will seize the moment, and you will make the best of it. Can that man or woman say powerful amen unto the Lord? Some people have had golden opportunities, golden opportunities, golden opportunities, golden opportunities. You have to understand this before it happens so that when you are privileged and favored by God to have access to a golden opportunity, you recognize it, you instantly discern the value, and then you make the best of it. In 1 Corinthians chapter 16:9, 1 Corinthians 16:9, contemporary English version, it says, "Because there is a wonderful opportunity for me to do some work here." And there is a man listening to this message right now, God is about to grant you and family a wonderful opportunity. Can that man say powerful amen on behalf of your family? Say another amen. God is about to make chance for you. It's about to make way for you.

And then also, some people have had very little opportunity, very little opportunity. The journey of life, but mercy is about to speak for them. So in the journey of life, some people also have had more opportunities than others, more opportunities. Some have had bigger opportunities, better opportunities, some have had new opportunities. And that is what this message is heralding. It is a prophetic message coming to you for such a time as this. A new opportunity is coming. The prodigal son had another opportunity, had another opportunity to start all over again, and this time around, do things right, do things right. And some people have had what we call sudden opportunities, sudden opportunities. And that's another purpose of the message, to prepare your mind for a sudden opportunity. Everything is just going to happen in a hurry. Everything is just going to happen so fast, and grace, divine grace and favor will be flowing to make it happen. Are you ready for it? Are you ready for a sudden opportunity? It's going to come suddenly. It's going to come suddenly. Your plans will just change completely. Yes, your plans will change. For some of you, location will just change suddenly because seizing the new opportunity will involve a change of location. So in the journey of life, some people have not even had any opportunity. And that's why we said for those who have a little opportunities and some no opportunity at all, mercy will speak.

In Philippians chapter 4:10, Philippians 4:10, Amplified Bible Classic Edition, it says, "I was made very happy in the Lord that now you have revived your interest in my welfare after so long a time. You were indeed thinking of me, but you had no opportunity to show it. You had no opportunity to show it." God will give you the resources to show it. God will give you the office and position to show it. In the name of Jesus. A nation may have great potential to transform the lives of citizens, and even non-citizens that come to that nation, that dwell in that nation, but bad leadership, bad leadership can hinder that potential. So someday, God will give certain people the opportunity. It may not come through the office of the presidency at the beginning. It may come through some other position, as a governor, as a head of an agency, as a minister, in some capacity. And in that position or office, you are able now to show your leadership potentials, and that opens the door for something higher. So there are some of you listening to me right now, there are certain things you are capable of doing well and doing it excellently, but up to today, you have not had a chance. I pray that today, mercy and favor will come upon you. The Ancient of Days will give you a big opportunity, a golden opportunity, a major opportunity. And many shall be blessed from that which you already have the potential to do. In Jesus name, please say amen.

Then also, there are what we call all rejected opportunities, rejected opportunities. And that is why you must not, as a believer, walk by sight all the time. Opportunists are those who walk, they walk by sight, and they will always lose out. Sometimes because there will always be surprises. People that had no chance will suddenly, suddenly be in the best position, be the most empowered. So if you are always targeting those that seem to have, and you despise that those that have, those that have not, the day such a pleasant surprise happens, elevating the obscure into positions of great relevance, you can't even approach them. When God is bringing something to you for a lifetime, most times it will not come showing the fullness of the benefits that that opportunity is loaded with. I plead with you to be very careful in the way you interpret visions and revelations from God, because most times revelations will come showing you the ultimate phase of what God is bringing to you. The wise men saw the star of Jesus, and what was the star revealing? King of the Jews. But that wasn't going to happen from day one. It did happen in his 20s. It happened much later in the journey. God could show you someone that is in a very, very endowed and blessed circumstance, but when that person will appear in the physical, the person may not have any of those things. So you should be more sensitive to the voice of the spirit and not what you are seeing physically. So there are numerous cases of rejected opportunities. Would you like to take this job? No, because the only thing you are, you are after is the pay. Unknown to you, that that job, that position, that office. So they are rejected opportunities, and the potential beneficiaries did not even know that that was a big opportunity, so they rejected it.

They are also underutilized opportunities. Every week, God will intentionally make someone new come your way, physically or online. And God expects, among other things, that you continue every week to draw at least one person to Jesus, draw at least one person to the house of God. So there are underutilized opportunities, and of course, there are wasted opportunities, lost opportunities.

Lesson number three, there are opposite sides, opposite sides to what a window of opportunity could be used for. There are opposite sides to what a window of opportunity could be used for. A window of opportunity could be used to do something good or positive. Yeah, the same window of opportunity could also be used to do something bad or negative. An excellent example you will find in Mark chapter 6:17-28. Excellent example. That was a lifetime opportunity. King Herod told his wife, Herod's daughter, to ask for anything. That was a golden opportunity that could have been used to gain something extremely good and positive. But under the influence of her mother, she was compelled to use that opportunity for something very bad and negative.

Lesson number four, there is often at least one person that desires or needs the potential outcome of what the opportunity offers. There is often at least one person that desires or needs the potential outcome of what the opportunity offers. In fact, sometimes it's even God himself that stands to gain from that opportunity. So the spirit will be telling you, speak to that person, speak to that man, speak to these people here.

Lesson number five, the opportunity to do something often lies with someone that may not be the immediate beneficiary. The opportunity to do something often lies with someone that may not be the immediate beneficiary. So in the journey of life, most of the time, the opportunity to achieve something out of a window of opportunity may be in the hands or access of another person that is different from the person that really needs it. You may have an opportunity to give someone a job. You may not need that job. No one directly around you may need that job, but that job is a golden opportunity for whoever gets it. Don't just turn it down. Look beyond your immediate family and quickly begin to think and search for who you can extend that opportunity to. So most times, the person that is designed an opportunity for something specific to be done may not be the person that will have the opportunity to get it done. Someone else could have the power to get it done, the authority, the position, the office, the expertise, the skills, the special ability, the resources, the influence, the privileged relationship or access to a desired person that is required to get that thing done. So God will put you in a position to be able to speak to certain people, yeah, to certain people.

Lesson number six, sometimes the same people you earlier had the opportunity to help, yeah, the same people you earlier had the opportunity to help, would later also have the opportunity to help you in return. The same people you had had the opportunity to help would later, later also have the opportunity to help you in return. In Genesis chapter 40 and Genesis chapter 41, you will see this play out. The chief butler of Pharaoh, the chief baker of Pharaoh, were both in the same cell with Joseph. Joseph had some gift of God in him, upon him, grace of God, and one of them was the ability to interpret dreams. And these two men had troubling dreams. Joseph offered to interpret their dreams, and the dreams were showing that in three days, something was going to happen for the two of them. First, the chief butler, Pharaoh was going to call him back and restore him back to his position. That was the interpretation Joseph gave to him. And Joseph did not ask for money. He did not ask for anything to be paid to him to interpret that dream, to use his gift for the benefit of that man. He could have told the man, the chief butler of Pharaoh, okay, before I interpret this dream, what will you give me? Will you give me your evening meal? Since they were in prison together, there was not much that the butler could give him. He asked for nothing. Three days' time, it happened exactly. Pharaoh sent for him, he was restored to his position, restored to his office, and everything was going on well. Now, this same man had the opportunity to help Joseph by just informing the king about him. And when the opportunity came in Genesis 41, he did so. Now, you would also see that the man did not know. And any of you listening to this message, you would, you would not have anticipated that what will happen later would happen. All you will think is that, okay, Joseph will come and he will interpret the dream and it will go. Unknown to him, that Joseph was going to be made prime minister that same day. Everything changed that same day for Joseph. Everything changed. So the same Joseph now was now also in a position to also help this man again. That's, that's how life is. Yeah, that's how life is. The people you helped will help you. The people that God used you to intervene in their lives, some of them God is going to use them in the days ahead in your favor. God will use them for your children, God will use them for you. In the name of Jesus Christ. But when we do this, we should not expect the same people to be the ones that will reward us. Our reward and how it comes is at the discretion of God. Don't help people just on the grounds that you are expecting them to also do something in the days ahead. If they have the opportunity and they wish to, when the time comes, good. If they have the opportunity, but they refuse, God is the one that operates the system of the law of harvest. Yeah, that is why even when you travel abroad, you travel to foreign countries where nobody knew anything about your background, you begin to reap good seeds and rewards from the deeds of the past in a location where nobody knew anything about you.

Now, to dream of an open door, especially when it reveals a pleasing view, it's predicting the realization of your highest hopes. It could also be predicting signs of good things to come, good things to come. So we close by quickly throwing light on divine opportunities and open doors. We just summarize with some of the privileges and opportunities you have to rise and achieve great things in life. They are not necessarily coming just because of hard work, just because of effort, human effort, because you would always find people do the same thing, but not everyone gets the same result. You could be privileged to get.
