What if AI could recommend you as the go-to expert in your space? Not just find you, but actually suggest you to potential clients. Today, I've got Amy Yamato with me, an AI visibility strategist with over 25 years of marketing experience, and she's going to break down something called GEO, generative engine optimization. This is how you show up when people ask Chat GBT or Perplexity for recommendations in your niche. Hello, Amy. How are you? It's so nice to have you here.

I'm doing great. Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited about diving into this topic that I'm super passionate about.

Oh my goodness. So are we. It's so interesting because I was just looking the other day for a service in my area and I was like, I'm just going to ask Claude or Chat GBT. I'm going to ask for their recommendations. So I feel like this is such a powerful topic. So can you tell us what we're going to be learning today?

Yeah, I'm gonna actually be sharing with you about GEO, as you mentioned, generative engine optimization and more specifically how you can become the expert or the business that AI recommends. This is just the the wave of the even now and into the future. And so I just have found that the more I've been able to share with my colleagues and friends and clients about this, then they know that they can start taking steps if they haven't already towards becoming more both AI machine readable and ultimately recommendable, you know, on on chatbt and claude and perplexity and Gemini. So I'm excited to dive into this topic.

Yay. Me too. Let's do this.

All right. Awesome. So the thing that I I noticed is similar to you is that over time I noticed my own habits were shifting as you know even in my of course in my business when we dove into AI pretty early on with chatbt becoming mainstream. I noticed that slowly but surely my own personal habits would change. you know, I would start like you researching things through chatbt and and Claude and I I found that even if we had like a family vacation coming up instead of going to Google or some of these other sites, I would be asking Chachabt questions about where I was where I was going, what would be a great itinerary, what activities to do. And so these these uh itineraries, including businesses and locations, would show up. And so the more I thought about it, the more I thought, gosh, this is this is so different from what we used to do before. So I'm happy to to share, you know, what we've what we've discovered and steps that you can take to become an expert or business that AI recommends. So let's go ahead and dive into the the slides here so I can kind of walk you through this and um so here's the theme. Become the expert AI recommends the framework for getting recommended by chatbt, Google AI, every AI assistant, you know, different business uh I'm sorry, large language models.

And so this is what this is what happened when I started playing with doing searches for experts. So I asked Chachd for five recommendations uh for business coaches for entrepreneurs, right? There are five recommendations but the first one was business coaches for entrepreneurs. And so came up with five. Some of these you might be familiar with, you know, Marie Forio, Brook Castillo, James Wedmore. And here's the thing with the like number four, number five, they didn't reflect the best two that I know. And I was like, what is the deal here? They're not they're not showing up. So something that you can even do uh for those of you watching is you can try to ask Chad PT if you haven't done this already to recommend someone in your industry and see who pops up. And I noticed that this wasn't a fluke. This is a pattern. You know my team and I have done some test searches. So we were looking for recommendations of a therapist or a branding consultant, a photographer, a business coach. We already showed that shared that one. And we noticed that what happened is there were certain people that we noticed were missing. like people that we were familiar with were missing from the list. You know, even if they had 20 years of experience, they maybe weren't mentioned or if they were an award-winning photographer, AI had no idea. So, there are good people and experts and businesses everywhere that are missing from every answer. So, we we look at this as kind of the AI visibility crisis, right? People have shifted their habits from asking, you know, going into Google or just mindlessly scrolling on social media to be targeted. Um but um you know when I when I think of this it's like wow we've all shifted right a lot of us have shifted to not only going to chatbt or perplexity or claude but even when we go to Google we put in a search question and even Google has an AI answer. Does that make sense?

Absolutely. And that is what's interesting is because I sometimes just want oldfashioned Google and I'm like just give me oldfashioned Google. If I want if I want AI I'll literally go to Claude. But yeah, I have really noticed lately that Google does just give you an AI answer, which is why it's so important that we understand, I feel, how to actually show up.

Absolutely. Right. It's it's just it's one of those things where if we haven't set ourselves up for being recommended or even machine readable, then it it may miss us. So, uh so it's interesting how even our own habits have shifted. And then AI decides who gets mentioned. So, it's not just about ranking pages anymore. It's about choosing names and and surfacing those names. And this number three can be a little bit painful. Your expertise doesn't matter if the machine can't read it, right? So even if you have this great wisdom and brilliance expertise, it can be invisible and that means that you're not recommended.

So here are the three reasons AI skips good businesses. So first, uh if your offer is implied but never stated, so you know what you do, but a machine reading your homepage doesn't. meaning it doesn't really see what you do, what you offer, what problem you solve. Um, your audience is everyone. So, if AI, you know, AI can't recommend you if it doesn't know who you serve. So, I mean, this is something that a lot of us maybe if we've been around for a while, we know how important it is to have a target audience to have an ideal client avatar so that we know who we're speaking to. Um, the third reason AI skips good businesses is your expertise is spread across 12 topics. So sometimes people have been building their expertise over time and they have so much content that they're sharing that it's a little bit confusing to the AI machines that are looking for a next level of clarity. So while it might be beautiful to the humans, it is invisible to machines. So we want to make sure that we don't get skipped, right?

So if you look at um the past and where we are now, this this is where we can look at where your traffic actually went, right? So, so traffic meaning where people have been searching. So, even as recent as 2020, someone may search in Google for example, have 10 blue links, you know, the clickable links that they go to to websites. One of them would be your website and then maybe you would get a new lead as one form of traffic. Now, people search and just like we were saying before, even on Google, AI gives the first answer. And so, oftentimes people they're looking for answers, not necessarily websites. And if they get the answer, they don't need to click on anything. So there's no click. So what we've seen is that AI overviews reduce clickthroughs by 30 to 60%, sometimes even higher than that. So your traffic didn't disappear. It just went to an AI answer that sometimes doesn't include you. So we want to make sure that we get ahead of it so that it does include us ultimately.

So I found this to be really interesting. If we look back into history, right, the three waves of discovery. Um, now some of us some of this does go before I was born, fortunately. But I feel like I'm dating myself when I can see that middle section. I'm like, "Yep, I have some memories of that time." Um, but uh, wave number one was really about phone numbers. You know, people were finding businesses by by calling them up old school, you know, to the brick-andmortar businesses that had the solutions that you needed. Wave number two, that's, you know, 98 through 2023. So, the first one is 1960s to the 1990s. Wave two is 1998 to 2023 and that's where that wave of discovery was about web addresses, websites. Um, so if you if you weren't on page one of Google, you might miss the customer. And now wave number three, 2024 through now, it's all about AI answers. So if we miss being an answer through AI, we may miss the customer. So we're already 18 months into wave three. We're still early though. There's a lot of businesses who aren't aware of this, but this is the time to really set ourselves up to become answers through AI.

Yeah, absolutely.

Yeah. So, this is I know we already mentioned a little bit about this, but I find it so fascinating, Simone, that goo even Google puts the AI answers above their own ads, right? Like you know how it has that AI mode.

Yeah.

Wild, right? So, even if we ask it a question, it has the AI overview first, then their paid answered, you know, the sponsored ads, and then their organic results. So even though their biggest ad, you know, their revenue comes through their ads, they knew that this is where the world's going. And so they thought, okay, we've got to have the AI overview even above the paid ads. Like that's how important it is for us to recognize that this is where searches are going. This is where your ideal clients are looking for you, looking for answers, and hopefully you're the answer. So this is something that I I continue to share with uh my my clients and and colleagues as well is that it's about being the answer. You know what is what are the questions that people are putting into these AI models that you want to be the answer for? Does that make sense?

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Yep. And it is so interesting that it's that AI the AI is going over the paid ads now because it really does show how much weight is being put into that AI.

Mhm.

I know. If you think about $35 billion a year in ad revenue and they still put these answers above them, it's just wild to me. So, if Google can't ignore this, right, this is something we didn't think about. Okay. So, what Google did, they they rebuilt their entire search product around AI. They've sacrificed ad revenue, rewrote playbook, and what most businesses are doing is that they're still trying to optimize for page one rankings. They're like, I want to I want to rank high, right? And it's not that that's not important at all, but look at where the world is going. Like really think about it. I I see this time as being such a great early adopter advantage time frame where we can really get ahead of it in terms of setting ourselves up. And I'll I'll share a little bit more about that a little later in terms of how to become discoverable through AI. So a lot of businesses are still posting more content, still hoping to be found. So it's just about asking yourself, what is your business doing about AI discovery right now?

So the number one mistake that what most people do is is just more, right? More posts, more videos, more reals, more content. But what AI reads is clarity of claims. Like what are you claiming? What is what is being claimed about what your business does? Consistency, specificity, structure. So it's more about clarity and consistency versus volume and frequency. I actually personally love this because I don't want to have to be on social media 247. I like to actually live my life. And so as I started to discover this kind of early on, I thought, gosh, it'd be so great to not have to focus so much on volume and frequency, but focus more on clarity and consistency and my message and my positioning, my authority. So for some of you watching this, hopefully there's a little bit of a sigh of relief of like, okay, this is my time to really just tighten up my message and tighten up how I have things structured and my consistency so that I do become the expert that AI recommends. It's pretty cool, huh?

Yeah, absolutely. I've even really noticed that in the industry over the last couple of years that you can't like the people who are making money and um attracting clients are the people who aren't generalists. So, it just seems to be the way everything's going is if you're clear on your message and you can just be very clear and consistent on talking about it, that's where you're going to generate revenue.

So true. I mean, I I love that you're bringing that up because even when you think about how to best be recommended by humans, it's great to be specific versus a generalist. You know, just recently a dear friend of mine was sharing with me that her young daughter who's about 10 years old is is dealing with a lot of um issues with eczema, you know, a skin issue, and she's like, I just don't know what to do and and who I should turn to. Um, so I turned to a friend of mine who I thought might know somebody because she's kind of in that health and wellness field, naturopathic field, and she said, "Oh, I have the expert for you. She is um a pediatric eczema specialist, right?" Like, so it was specifically for this particular skin issue for children. And I'm like, perfect. And she said almost every one of her clients is a success story. And so it was so nice to be able to say, hey, this is who you should turn to. So I the way I look at this is that this is a chance for us to really take a look at what we want to become known for and to be easily recommended by both humans and AI models. So um, it's really helpful to have that information.

So these are the four dimensions AI checks before recommending you um the AI readability scorecards. This is a chance for you to you know, for all of you to look at and see how things look on your end. So, who you serve, what outcome you deliver, like what's that desirable outcome that your ideal clients want that you deliver, how you do it, and then why AI should trust you. So, we decided to run this on Tony Robbins because everyone knows Tony Robbins. And here's what happened. Here's what AI got right. So, the who, how, why, and brand. So that so who is his known space personal development peak performance how his known method is immersive events and coaching why massive citation profile he's got 30 plus years of press coverage I mean this guy has been featured everywhere u his brand is strong entity recognition across web so so far so good for the biggest personal brand on earth and where AI got confused even with Tony Robbins is that his audience is unclear because he has such a mass you know a massive audience from CEOs to teenagers um his offer was and clears like events, coaching, supplements, finance. He kind of has a lot of different things. Uh his topics are definitely compete 12 plus categories on one site and no outcome stated on the homepage. So score is one of four clear not great, right? However, he can afford this gap. You know, he's been around for a long time with all of the citations, the thousands of articles, global brand recognition. AI knows him regardless. But for your reality, right, for all of us entrepreneurs that are not Tony Robbins, our website is our signal, right? And we need to make sure if we if we don't have citations, meaning having other places that we're being featured and cited, then we need to work on that. Uh if we have a limited brand footprint, if we're unclear, then we really can't afford having this gap. We need to be super clear.

Okay. So, this is something that for, you know, whether you're newer in business or you're quite seasoned and maybe you've done this exercise before in like messaging 101, but it still is really helpful and AI models love it to fill in the this these blanks for the one sentence fix, right? This person or you know, this company helps these people achieve this outcome through this method. So even with Tony Robbins, we could say Tony Robbins helps entrepreneurs and leaders achieve peak performance through immersive events, coaching, and proven strategies. So it's something that I know some uh seasoned entrepreneurs kind of cringe because like h this sentence that I've heard throughout my journey as an entrepreneur and it's still is helpful to have it. I think that people sometimes get bored with it because they maybe have seen it uh at some point in their journey. But think of it this way, clarity is everything when it comes to AI. If it can really clearly understand who you serve, you know, what is the outcome that you deliver, how you deliver it, and the result that you provide, then it's going to be much more likely to surface you as an answer than if you don't have the sentence, right?

Absolutely.

Yep. Yep. So, this is a good thing to be able to answer if you can answer these four questions. Who like who is your specific audience? That's not everyone, right? Who is your very specific audience? Who's your ideal client? What is the specific outcome you deliver? What is your meth like how do you do it? What is your method? What makes your approach yours? Your uniqueness and why? What are the credentials or evidence that AI can verify? So, if you have less if you're able to answer less than three, you're probably invisible to AI. I mean, the good news is almost nobody has done this yet. So most businesses are not doing anything with really setting themselves up to be discoverable by AI like on a really deep level. So most of your competitors are still doing SEO or just focusing excuse me on content and uh and all the social media posting and whatnot. Uh even big names have major gaps and AI experts tend to focus on tools and not presence. So the first to be clear are the first to be found. So that's again this is your chance to be a um like an early adopter of of setting yourself up for GEO for generative engine optimization and the sooner you get yourself set up then this is going to help you for long-term visibility over time.

Okay, so this is one thing that I I don't know about you Simone I love checklists like if you give me a checklist then I know what to do, right? So this is the AI readability checklist. So, six things to fix or just make sure you're good to go on your website. So, one is one clear authority claim. Two, specific extractable claims. Three, consistent terminology everywhere. Four, direct answers to real questions. Five, clear entity identity. So, just being really clear on who you are and what what you do. And six, dated authored content. So, this you can actually uh take this as a little as a little test. if you can give yourself a score from zero to three on each of them and the you know if you have a perfect score is 18 but if it's below 12 then you you do have some work to do.

Okay.

Yeah.

All right. So the the the new visibility formula well let's look at the old first. Old is more content plus more keywords plus more backlinks, right? But the new is clarity plus consistency plus citability means AI will be more likely to recommend you. So clarity is I can extract what you do in one sentence. Consistency same message on every platform. Citability or claims are specific and verifiable. So you just want to again like I like that it's it cares about the quality of your information. It's not looking for you know marketing tactics and fluff that's out there. It wants something that's more authoritative and relevant to your ideal client.

Yeah.

Yeah. So, so Simone, like when you look at this, like what what comes up for you in terms of like the clarity and the consistency and citability?

No, I love this. I think it's great and I think it's something that more people need to know about. Uh I do a lot of uh business coaching and I was talking to a girl recently and she basically coaches people on relationships and then she was like, "Oh yeah, but I'm also available to do speaking events on leadership." And I'm like, "Wait, what?" like and I was like, you're a relationship coach. That's literally what your brand is. It's what you talk about. Why are you talking about leadership? So, for me, this all makes perfect sense. I just don't know how we even get this to the masses. But yeah, I love this. And I think it's exactly true. Like, if you're staying on brand talking about the same thing all the time, that's just that repetition is what's going to make you have that authority because that's the thing that you continue to talk about. So, I love this. I'm interested to know um how people can actually apply this if they're say a little bit less into their journey and they haven't figured out how to get that siteability or that consistency yet like are we talking do they need to post blog articles do they need to go on podcast like I'm interested to know some practical can bring it in but I love this

yeah so just as an initial thought I'm glad that you're asking that question is it it while even though website traffic is going down because more people are going to AI, it still is important to have a website to be able to have basically a home for your information, right? So, I know that sometimes when I'm talking to a group of entrepreneurs, for example, they are either building or rebuilding or refining a website. And so, whether you're whatever phase you're in, then this is your chance to really think about, okay, what do I want to be known for? and make sure that that it's really clear like your expertise is very clear so that both humans and AI can easily recommend you. And so it's just about having your homepage be really clear about you know that having that sentence even somewhere on your homepage about who it is that you help and what what is their desired outcome and how do you help them. Um having like your services be really clear and consistent with your messaging. having your about page be really clear about you and how you serve people, right? Just that clarity and consistency. So, I would say to either build or rebuild or refine your website so that you are so clear and so consistent that AI models can read your website.

Yeah.

Okay. And even once you have that, like once you've done that for your website, it's so much easier to make content that's just literally saying stuff that you already have on your website or that you've already prepared. Like you already know who your ideal client is or you already know how you can help them. You already know your own method. Like once you do that pre-work of getting that clear for you and your website, I do feel like there is this flow on effect that you can apply it to literally everything.

Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. And the other piece too is um okay, so I'm just going to go back to this this page. Okay. When when you're able to when you're able to fill in the blanks of this sentence, it's helpful for your messaging across the board, right? So even if you're at a networking event or social event and you want to share with people what it is that you do, if you have this sentence figured out, it's a lot easier than if you're a little bit more vague, if that makes sense. Um and so having that clarity is really important. So, I would say for those who are wanting to take steps towards getting their their website to where it needs to be, then first just focus on your messaging as like a kind of a prerequisite step to take and be clear in your offers and what it is that your business provides. Um, and then from there, then you could take the next steps which are more on the tech side of things, which is the structured data that AI is looking for. So essentially, without getting into the weeds of it, there's there's basically like the front humanfacing part of your website and then there's the invisible website on the back end, right? And the missing piece for most websites is what I call the AI authority infrastructure. That's what my company custom builds for businesses where we make sure that not only is your backend set up so that you have the proper schema, it's called code calls schema like it's a formatting of um the way in which a format in which makes your website AI machine readable but also the linking between your authority and your authority themes and what you speak into, what you're known for. Uh what are your other platforms that you are on and that you're consistent with in terms of your social media, right? there's a lot of uh linking that happens behind the scenes. So again, that's a whole other layer that's needed. Um but it starts with you being super clear, right? That's why I say say focus on the clarity and the consistency first because if that's messy, then adding this layer, this infrastructure doesn't even make sense.

Yeah.

Yeah. So yeah. So for those who have a website um then I do have a tool that I'm sharing which is um a free AI website audit tool. So this is a um an AI tool where once you get this link for this tool, you can just simply paste your URL. It's it's it's set up as a custom GPT. So you just paste your website URL into it and then it will read what AI thinks of you like how it sees you. So you'll see your clarity score, what AI actually understands about you, even if you don't have that backend infrastructure yet. It has its web crawlers and it's finding some information on the human facing side of your website, what the gaps are, what might seem a little bit fuzzy and and unclear, and then what your custom one-s sentence fix is. So this tool can really help you to be able to understand what AI sees of what you have right now and what you can improve. So um, so you can grab this. I think that Simone might have the link as well. So, you can grab uh the tool here and that way it'll support you in that initial step. And for some of my clients, they're like, "Oh, I'm actually rebuilding a website, so I don't have a website yet." I always tell them, "Well, grab the link anyway." So that way once you've created your website, then you can use this and just use it to refine things so you're set up to be optimized for GEO or generative engine optimization. Basically, AI discoverability.

Okay. So here are the three things you can do right away. So you can first write your AI clarity sentence, right? The one that the one sentence fix, you know, the that you can add to the first paragraph of your homepage so it's really clear. Um you can also ask chat GBT about your business. See what AI knows about your business right now. You can use the the AI website audit tool and then check your consistency. Like look at your website, look at your LinkedIn, your Instagram, your Facebook, all your different, you know, online presence platforms and see are you consistent with your message and what you're posting about. Is it related to what it is that you do or are you trying to do too many things for too many people? Um, so all of this you can do pretty pretty quickly to set yourselves up. And if you think remember this right the three waves right it used to be phone numbers then it shifted to websites now it's AI so you can just ask yourself are you going to be the one that AI uh AI recommends the expert AI recommends so you can use the tool and it'll help you to set yourself up for success. So that's pretty much it for the at least the the presentation side of it but I'm happy to uh share anything else uh Simone if you have any questions or I can share any tips as well. I know we have a little time still.

Yeah, I loved that. Thank you so much. I think that was awesome. Uh, I would love to know because obviously the audience is mostly going to be content creators and and that sort of thing. What are some tips that they can do to help with this? Like is sharing their blog posts or their YouTube channel content? Is sharing that on their website going to make a difference is probably the first question.

Yeah, blogs are excellent. And the reason why blogs are excellent is that they are your relevance. they are form of your relevant signals for your ideal client. The key thing is to look at your blogs and make sure that they are very consistent with your authority. Meaning something that we recommend to our clients is to pick three to five kind of authority themes. Like like if you had a main topic and if you can name three to five subtopics that you love to consistently speak on, then having your blogs fit underneath one of those three to five subtopics would be ideal. Even if you have a lot of blogs over time, hundreds of blogs, however many blogs, but if they are relevant to your main topic and subtopics, then that is ideal. So yeah, having a blog is is definitely recommended because then it just adds to your authority and your relevant signals for AI to see like, okay, this person really knows a lot about this, you know, this theme and they're consistently sharing value, valuable information about it.

Yeah.

Love that. Thank you.

Of course.

What about things like if they're sharing on social media? Does it matter if they're sharing the same post on LinkedIn as Facebook and will that affect things?

No, that's totally fine. You know, one thing people ask me about um once we get into kind of the like I was saying the the like the missing layer that goes on the back end like oh but does it even matter that I have a website if I have a really robust LinkedIn? I always say yes. It still matters that you have a website because that's what where your kind of authority root like roots live if that makes sense. Um so but what you can do in this backend you know schema code and we build it like I said as a much more in-depth infrastructure is there's a format called same as and same as it's like all one word same as right same as basically is your chance to say that okay this if if I I'm Amy Umada I am the person that is the author of this website it's the same Amy Amada that has this LinkedIn that has this Instagram that has this Facebook because there even though my name's not super common, there are other Amy Yamadas out there. And so it's looking for that consistency of this is the same person that does this. And so even if you're posting similar things on different social media sites, that's fine. It's looking for that consistency, but more importantly, it's great to have this same as format on the back end of your website so it knows to link your website to these other platforms. Does that make sense?

Yes. It does make sense, but do we need to like special code things to do all this? Like is this like some sort of technical thing we all need to make?

Um, I mean it is helpful to have some knowledge about it. The good news is you don't have to be as a a a tech guru to be able to build this for your site. I mean even uh AI can build the code for you. You just need to know what it is that's needed within the code. That's why we've we've dove into the deep end of this because we're we've built our kind of our own um our own framework because there's there are other what what how am I trying to say this? There are other like simple schema uh plugins and things like that that are not authority based like what we're doing. And so so ideally you work with someone who knows how to properly set this up so that it has the full authority infrastructure considered including the buyer's journey the psychology of the buyer. What are the top questions that your ideal clients are asking chatbt even before they're asking for a recommendation? Right? Because a lot of people are going to these large language models, these AI models, not at the moment of, hey, who do you recommend? Unless they're looking for like a restaurant or something like that, right? But if they're going through something and you are the expert or your company offers a solution for this person, think about what are they asking an AI model when they're waking up at 2 a.m. and they're stressed out about something, right? So we like to do is think through what are the questions that these people are asking. So it does get quite technical at some point if you want to go to that level and um and at the same time I see it as an opportunity because as an early adopter if you have that level of depth of expertise the way I think of it it's like having this beautiful matrix on the back end of your website saying hey I've got this whole world of wisdom and expertise and understanding of who my ideal client is where they are now what they're going through what they want and I can support them. So essentially you start training the AI models on your expertise so that you are the thought leader and then it starts to reference you when they are at the point of wanting to invest in a solution.

Super interesting. I love this. So say for example I was completely overwhelmed by what you just said.

Yes I know.

Well listen example. I know.

Say, for example, I was completely overwhelmed by what you just said and I was like, that's too much. If I just make sure all of that content is on my website, is that enough for now?

It's it's a start. I mean, I I I hesitate only because I've just been so deep in this world for months now. And I would say it's better to start and at least get the foundation dialed in. So I would say for someone if that's completely overwhelming, which I so understand. I mean I hear myself saying it and I'm thinking it's like a fire hose, right? I would say to start just look at your website or if you're rebuilding or refining a website, just go through the questions that I shared and ask yourself, is it clear? Right? Is my message clear? Is it clear who I serve? Is it clear what problem I solve? Is it clear that I understand the desired outcome of my ideal client? Is it clear what it is that I offer? And in what format do I offer it? So clarity is everything. So I would start with that. If if this feels super overwhelming, I would start with the clarity piece and then from there start building in the authority signals like having a consistent blog that represents your expertise and then start layering in the the tech side of things.

Y um obviously there's also going to be the people who know exactly what you're talking about and they can just dive in. So I'm not going to mention them. But what about the middle ground people who are like, "Okay, I understand what you're saying. It's a little out of my depth, but I do have a brand document that I use for everything anyway, that says who my ideal client is, that says um what I do, all of that sort of stuff. Would it be okay for them to then copy and paste that document into say something like chat GBT or Claude and be like, can you please help me to um create a schema document based off this stuff and then help me to put it into my website? Is that an option for kind of a middle ground?

Yeah, certainly a middle ground could be that where where you could I mean I would use our free tool like seriously just use that initially and you could even upload that document into our free tool and see what it sees from that. Um so that way it can give you feedback on what it sees, what can be clearer, what can be better and then you can ask it to build schema for you. The thing is as we know with any AI what you get out of it is what you put into it, right? So you might get some kind of baseline schema format to put on the back end of your site. Um, but if you want to go deeper than that, whether and I'm not saying this to pitch me, but whether it's with my company or someone who really understands authority, I call it authority based schema, like really understanding the relationships and the semantics and the linking, um, then have somebody help you with that. But as a starting point, you can ask it to actually build the schema code for you. It just will probably do kind of the baseline versus all the additional components that create that depth if that makes sense.

Yeah, absolutely. We'll call that the middle ground.

Totally. I mean, you know, here's here's what I really want to say. I really do understand how I mean I I feel like AI is overwhelming because it's moving so quickly and even in my own business you know we I I've had my business for over 14 years now worked in corporate for 15 years before that and I I have continued to evolve my own messaging over time as my clientele has evolved as I've evolved and um and even since being in this world of AI because we you know we dove in really early with chatbt and only in the last I know six months have we been diving into GEO. So, it's still fairly new for us and I've been going really deep and applying exactly what I've discovered and I surround myself with some of the top AI gurus, right? And so, I'm always asking them questions and then and then developing what I'm creating and bringing in what I've what I've built over time. And um and so just know that of course like if if you're feeling overwhelmed at all just start somewhere and just like where whatever step you're in whether it's like really dialing in that clarity piece or just ask chat to be questions just say okay I I really do want to continue learning about GEO what is it that I can learn how can I apply this you know what is schema just to better understand it and um it's it's just one of those things that once you start to learn the language of it understand what it is and if you're anything like me, there's certain things that you do really well and certain things that you shouldn't touch, right? Like that's why I hire really good people to do some of the deeper tech work because I I like learning about it. I like understanding it. I like being the visionary of my company and then I like having people that know all the ins and outs and the weeds of of actually building things.

Absolutely. Thank you so much. Really appreciate that as well. Um, again, if the audience is content creators, for example, they're people who are like really big on um they want to grow an Instagram following or a YouTube channel or they want to grow a Substack or something like that. Can they like apply these principles to any basic website? Like could they do it to a go highle website? Could they do it to a WordPress website? Could they do it to a Wix website? Or are there some like like web providers that are just it's not going to work? Because, you know, if you've got a YouTube channel and you want to do that, maybe you're not at that level yet where you want to go like completely wild, but as we've said, it's still so important to have something. So, can they just have something with any type of website?

Uh, it's yes and right. So, there I I would say if it's a website where you or a web developer has access to the back end of your site, then yes. Right. So a lot of these platforms you do have access like you or your tech VA or your web developer can go in and they can change things on the back end where they can put code in they can add the schema format code you know that so it's just a matter of do you have access to that or not and some platforms from from everything that I understand are easier to use than others when it comes to all this GEO stuff. But I'm sure that these other platforms are going to get caught up because it's it's where the world is headed. Um, WordPress seems to be the best for this, but um, I mean, as long as you have access to the back end, you can at least do the foundational um, GEO needs with the schema format.

Yay. Love this. This is so good. Um, I really really appreciate this. Is there anything else that you think that we just have to know today?

Oh my goodness. Um, you know, it's interesting because like whenever I think about this clarity piece, clarity of messaging, I always start with the ideal client first. You know, really deeply understanding your ideal client. Um, a few years ago, we developed a tool called the ideal client handbook. And it's where you only have to answer three questions, right? You answer the question of um, you know, who, you know, just who is your ideal client? just briefly stated what is their desired outcome or desired result and then describe your business and then you press submit and then it goes into our kind of a backend AI powered process and it's not just a prompt we would spent months testing and building this out so that every answer would build upon the last answer and then within about 10 minutes you receive this really indepth uh report called the ideal client handbook that gives you the deepest insights about your ideal client it's about it usually is about 40 pages in length So, it's not just demographics, it's psychoraphics, it's the customer journey, it's the psychology of the client, it's what would they say in their own words about what they want, what they struggle with, what are their happiness drivers, you know, what what objections might they have to what you offer, and how to overcome them. So, it goes really really deep. Um, to the point where people sometimes say it's a little overwhelming because of the length of it. Uh, but I always tell them, you don't have to read the whole thing. you could just upload it into Claude or ChatgBT when you're creating anything that is related to your client. So, if you're creating content or if you're creating um a new opt-in page or an ad, you know, if you if you upload this depth of information on your ideal client and then engage with it, then you're much more likely to get better outputs than if you don't have that depth of insight. So, I would just say that really knowing your ideal client and giving these AI tools that depth of context can be helpful for creating content and and really uh connecting with your ideal audience.

Yeah, I love that. Thank you so so so much. I definitely totally 100% agree with you and that's definitely something that comes up for me as well when I talk to clients is just like understanding in their own words the pain points and desires of your of your ideal client. Like you have to know that and you also have to know who you help. And to me those things are just so foundational that if you can get those right, it just helps everything else. So having something for AI that can help you to put together your content and stuff like that because it has that background or that foundation I think is definitely such a pro tip. So really really really love that. Um, and also your free tool. Love that as well, cuz I think that's going to really help people to get an idea and see kind of where they're at and what's going on in their back end and how they're showing up, which will give us more of a tangible way that we can move through and kind of just clean things up and refine things, which is kind of why I was like, okay, what's the base level and then what's the middle level so that we can just refine as we go. So, this has been amazing. Where can people find you if they want to connect with you and hang out?

Yeah, definitely. Well, you can certainly uh DM me through Instagram. It's just my name. So, Amy Yamada um or on, you know, Facebook as well. Like everything that I have is essentially under my name. So, if you just look me up under Amy Amada, then you can find me and, you know, connect with me and um I love connecting with people and seeing how I can best support. So, yeah, I love it.

Yay. Amazing. Thank you so much, Amy. It's been a pleasure to have you here.

Oh, thank you so much for having me. It's been super fun.
