One of his friends was one of his dearest friends. Whenever we went out together, we would laugh together, enjoy ourselves together, and get upset together. If one of us was upset or angry or distressed, he would vent or confide in the other, and the other would comfort him. But in this gathering, I felt he was hesitant, with one foot forward and one foot back, wanting to tell me something but not knowing whether to say it or not. I said to him, "My brother, what's wrong with you?" He said to me, "My brother, don't you tell people to read Surat Al-Baqarah? I'm reading it. Read Surat Yasin? I'm reading it. I told them about the story of your magic, my brother, by God, and I heard the story and I'm reading the supplications for magic." I said to him, "Yes, continue. What's the story?" He said, "My brother, by God, I feel a mountain on my chest, steadfast in my prayers, yet problems are increasing. I'm reading Surat Al-Baqarah and I feel as if a vein is tightened from my head to my left shoulder, and I'm seeing very bad nightmares that don't leave me." I said to him, "Go back to the beginning. Are you steadfast in your prayers?" He said, "Yes." I said to him, "Despite this, your life is becoming difficult?" He said, "Yes." I said to him, "Are you reading Surat Al-Baqarah every day?" He said, "Yes." I said to him, "Okay, when you read it, what do you feel?" He said, "When I read it, I feel a heaviness at the beginning, and then this heaviness gradually dissipates. And day by day, as I become more steadfast with Surat Al-Baqarah, this heaviness disappears." I said to him, "Excellent. That means something is improving." He said, "Something is improving, but my general life isn't changing." Here, I recalled the comments of many people. Many people used to write to me that they were steadfast in their prayers, in the morning and evening supplications, and in Surat Al-Baqarah, but their lives, instead of changing for the better, changed for the worse. I said to him, "No, here. Okay, excellent. Okay, one last question. Are you reading the magic supplications?" He said to me, "By God, I am reading them, yet my life is changing for the worse." This is the case for many people who are suffering from this problem. They are steadfast in their prayers, steadfast in Surat Al-Baqarah, steadfast in a portion of the Holy Quran, in the morning and evening supplications, in the magic supplications, but their lives are changing for the worse.
Here, I sat with his friend and told him exactly what to do to get out of this cycle he was stuck in. He thought the cause was magic, the cause of the choking on his neck, the cause of the tightened nerve from his head, the cause of the nightmares he was seeing, was magic or the evil eye. There is no magic or evil eye, but there is this matter that I will tell you about in this segment. But before I start this segment, get a cup of coffee, give me a like, a comment, and a share, and let's support each other so that this segment reaches the largest segment of people, perhaps their lives will change, and they will get out of the whirlpool of the evil eye and magic that they always blame for their problems. And they think that the more steadfast they are in their prayers, the more devils will come, or a barrier will prevent them from having a better life. So let's start the segment.
Some people decide to change their lives. They become steadfast in their prayers, read Surat Al-Baqarah, read Surat Yasin, and a daily portion of the Quran, and the morning and evening supplications. First, they find their lives changing for the better. But after the first week, the second week, they feel lethargy, then a relapse, then bad nightmares, and sometimes these nightmares are accompanied by terrifying and very bad things. And sometimes they feel that the mountain on their chest has returned, as if nothing has changed in their lives, or as if their lives have become worse. Because when they used to neglect prayers and supplications, they would say that the reason for the heaviness on my chest is neglecting my prayers. So now I am steadfast in my prayers, and steadfast in Surat Al-Baqarah, which repels devils, and steadfast in the supplications, and I am reading Ruqyah Sharia and reading the magic supplications. Okay, what's next? Why am I suffering from all these pains, which, if you research them, you will find that their cause is either the evil eye or envy. Most of the remedies you see online, I mean psychological remedies, are remedies for situations that a person always blames on others. When I sat with my friend and he started telling me about his life, I knew exactly that everything happening in his life was because of what he was experiencing. So, I want you to get a piece of paper and a pen now and draw a circle inside the paper. Inside the circle, you say, "Psychological Circle." We are very good at prioritizing people's feelings, people's opinions, and the world around us, their thoughts and beliefs, over our feelings, even though it is against our nature. The Prophet, peace be upon him, when he used to call, he would start with himself. Even in the prophetic hadiths, he used to say, "Start with yourself, then with those you support." And he used to say, "My Lord, forgive me and my parents." Today, because of the era of appearances, the era of triviality, and the era of comparisons, we have prioritized public opinion over our personal opinions, even to the point of suppressing ourselves, and we no longer know what we like and what we don't like. My friend was suffering from matters that had effects similar to the effects of magic. So when I asked him about his life, he told me, "My life, by God, is a normal life." I said to him, "What do you mean by a normal life? Explain to me more." This answer was the answer of many people, and his answer was that he starts his day and ends it with the news. That is, as soon as he opens his eyes, he opens his phone, reel after reel, after reel. Breaking news, something new, something happening. Reel, someone commented negatively on me. How many views did the picture I posted on my story get? Did someone write something to me, or did someone talk about me, or did someone tell me? People's opinions always outweigh his opinions, and he always follows the news obsessively. "Whoever is not concerned with the affairs of the Muslims is not among them." We must know what is happening around us among Muslims and we must support and assist any Muslim around the world, and may God grant them relief. But the news should not be the focus of your day. That is, everyone follows the news for more than four or three hours a day, and looks for new news. The news will inevitably reflect on his psyche, and he will always live in a state of tension. So he follows political news, economic news, weather news, and the major signs of the Hour. And the problem is that no channel brings you good news in the political news. We want news about two countries. May God have mercy on us when we used to see greetings and farewells. The least news that comes out in our day is assassination, killing, raid, and a drone strike. This has become part of our lives, and this is no longer acceptable to follow moment by moment, by moment by moment. This will make us more tense than we already are, and it will make us always search for everything related to the world around us and not search for ourselves, to the point that we have lost ourselves and no longer know exactly what we want. Therefore, inside the circle, you first write your feelings, your actions, your efforts, your mistakes, your activities, your reactions, your principles, your thoughts. Inside the circle is the circle of the self. This is the circle that you must focus on every day. First, your feelings. Do not let people's feelings outweigh your feelings. If you are right, do not be ashamed to say so. Do not be ashamed to stand up and confront someone and respond to them. "Those who restrain anger and are forgiving to people, and God loves the doers of good." We memorize them, but we are not without personality. We don't say about every situation, "Those who restrain anger." No, on the contrary, defend yourself and stand in front of the person. If someone says something bad to you, defend yourself and defend your position as long as you are right. Then forgive him and say, "May God forgive you." Second, your actions. The actions of a person who follows the news, who follows public opinion, and who always wonders what so-and-so said about him and what so-and-so wrote to him, is the action of a person always looking for reactions from people. So you are always waiting for people to attack you so you can respond. And this is not the focus of your life. This makes your life wasted, makes you not know why you are living, where you are heading, what your main goal is, and what you should strive for. So your actions are transformed from your reactions towards people. So your actions completely eliminate our reactions towards people, and they eliminate people altogether. Let your actions be based on what God has commanded you and on what you must strive for. So when you base your actions on what God has commanded you, you move on to your efforts. Where are your efforts going? Your nerves, what are you letting them get tense about? Are you getting tense about a problem that needs to be solved, about work that needs to be completed, about money that needs to be earned, or are you wasting them because so-and-so spoke about me, or because you saw breaking news, or because you saw bad news saying there will be a devastating earthquake, or the currency will collapse, or gold will rise? Where are your efforts going? Are they going towards people and the world, or towards yourself? The beloved, peace be upon him, commanded you in this time when people are preoccupied with people, saying, "Concern yourself with your own affairs and leave the general affairs." Look for your personal interests in the halal way, and never build your interests on the loss of others or on forbidden means. So when your efforts are directed towards improving yourself, towards studying, work, or anything that God has entrusted to you, then you are inevitably eliminating your mistakes or improving yourself or correcting these mistakes. So when you correct your mistakes, you look for something new to do other than following the world's news. So you will have something called activities. These activities are activities outside of college or outside of university. So when you see people graduating from university, or leaving high school, or studying and striving, they tell you that university is the first step. You must always gain experience from here or there. So if you have time, learn what AI is, how to prompt ChatGPT, generate new images, how to be a designer. Have more than one hobby or more than one activity. Do not rely only on your university degree. There was a Syrian proverb that says, "A person with a trade does not become poor." Whoever has an activity or a trade outside of his degree does not become poor because he has several options. So when you are busy with your feelings, your actions, your efforts, improving yourself, correcting your mistakes, and directing your activities towards finding or creating a better version of yourself, then your reactions will improve because you completely eliminate the presence of people and invoke the presence of God Almighty. And God Almighty says, "And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for." You will find yourself becoming much more focused and no longer seeing the bad nightmares you used to see. Even when you started reading Al-Baqarah, you could read or ponder the verses and try to see what the interpretation of this verse is and see that this verse is indeed, "Oh God, it is directed at me." "Oh God, I read Al-Baqarah ten times as if it were the first time I read this verse." You pray with tranquility and serenity without looking for, "I wish I had responded to this person," and "I wish I hadn't said this to this person," and "What will happen next with the breaking news about the president who made a bad statement? Will he declare war or not? Will there be a world war?" All of this is nullified. You stand before your Lord with a reassured and calm soul, surrendering your affairs to God because you have done what God commanded you, which is to strive. And thus, you will have thoughts and principles on which you build your life, away from people's opinions. You will have your own experience, your own deeds, your own success, which is not affected by people's words or the world's words, but is only affected by the word of God Almighty: "Each of them We will provide for, from the gift of your Lord. And the gift of your Lord was not restricted." All these things inside the circle, when you apply them, you will no longer see all the bad nightmares. The mountain on your chest will be removed. The vein that was tightened will go away because you are now busy with yourself and improving yourself, so you will no longer see the things that were controlling you. And thus, you will have a vision of what you should write outside the circle. So write now outside the circle of my interests: First, others' thoughts. Second, others' opinions. Third, others' view of me. Fourth, others' reactions. Fifth, toxic psychologies. Sixth, the news. Seventh, the global economy and weather. Others' thoughts, others' opinions, others' view of you, and others' reactions will disappear immediately as soon as you start striving for the sake of your Lord, then for the sake of yourself. And when you improve yourself, your focus will only be on the satisfaction of God Almighty. Everyone has an opinion and everyone has a thought. And if you want to talk about something you want to succeed in, or you want an experience to succeed for someone, they might tell you, "My brother, we have tried and it didn't work for us." Perhaps he didn't try; he's sitting back and giving you a preconceived idea. He has looked at the matter. You go to someone else, and they give you another idea. You go to a third person, and they give you a third idea. Therefore, start with yourself and your trust in God that God will not waste your effort. Thus, others' opinions will suffice. As for others' view of you, it will improve when you trust in God, then trust in yourself. So when you trust in God Almighty, God will place acceptance in the eyes of people, and they will look at you better. So you will no longer care about others' view of you because you look to God Almighty, you look to His satisfaction, you seek what He wants from you, and you apply it. Others' reactions, you will no longer be concerned with them. And the toxic psychologies, the bad psychologies that always discouraged you and told you, "Yes, we tried and it didn't work for us. My brother, the market is going down. My brother, it's not working for us." You remove these people from your life because you no longer want people to disrupt your striving. As for political news, economic news, or weather news, what is the weather in December? It will either rain, or snow, or we will get a little cold, or we will get a little warm. But if you search for, "Oh, tomorrow there will be an earthquake, and the comet will approach, and the earth will explode," you will get nothing out of it. Because most of these videos and segments are people who want to get views at the expense of your tension and nerves. And we saw them, did they storm? Did they not storm? Did they withdraw? Did they not withdraw? And all of this is at the expense of your health and well-being. Therefore, when we wrote these things and my friend knew what his circle of interests was and what the circle he should not be interested in was, and he applied this for two weeks, he knew exactly that he had no magic, no evil eye, no world war tomorrow, no earthquake, and the earth would not explode, and the Antichrist has not yet appeared, and the major signs of the Hour have not yet begun. He discovered that he was interested in many matters that he used as an excuse and circumstances to remain seated without striving. And this is the case for all of us. We say, "I prayed and my life didn't change. I read Surat Al-Baqarah and my situation didn't improve." The reason is that when I read Al-Baqarah, I didn't set the intention that I will strive and read Surat Al-Baqarah. And when I decided to pray, I didn't pray to say, "Okay, after prayer, I will continue." No, I put the matter on the back of prayer. "Okay, I'll pray and see if prayer will change my life or not." Prayer, supplications, and the Holy Quran are the fuel for changing your life. But you are the car, and these supplications are what propel you, protect you, preserve you, and by which God opens for you. So start today, from this date and from this time, by changing your interests, and your life will change immediately. So write now the time and date you saw the segment that you have decided to change your entire way of thinking so that your life will change. And promise me that you will remain steadfast in the supplications because these supplications are what will improve your life. They will not change for the worse, they will change for the better if you know exactly that you must strive and not remain seated. So write the comment now because all the comments will be there. May God make you steadfast, open for you, and change your life for the better. I am Ahmed Sabouna, and wait for me every Friday with a new segment. Peace be upon you.
