Orthodox Priests MOCK Pentecostal

Ex-Catholics For Christ 4:41

Transcription

A Pentecostal offers to pray for or over two Orthodox priests. It's a very short clip, and it's a very troubling one as well.

"Do you believe in Jesus Christ?"

"I pray for people. I have the gift of the Holy Spirit. I pray for them living in some feelings. Do you have, do you have some issues with your health?"

"It is not a joke. The providence of God, huh?"

"Yeah, it is not a joke. I have a TikTok channel. I pray for people on the street and..."

">> We have a, we have a YouTube channel. We pray for you too."

">> Really? Okay, yes. Nice. Can I pray for you?"

"Do you have, do you..."

"Not on me, no. You can't pray on me, no."

"Do, do you have pain in your body, some sickness, some illness? That bothers you?"

"We are the last Christians. We have the last church."

">> It is okay. Arrogance. We Orthodox Christians, we have the mysteries. We're the Pharisees. We have no king but Caesar. We're Abraham's children. We have Mother Mary to help us out. We have the papacy to intercede for us. Arrogance, sheer arrogance. God doesn't like people like you. We don't need you."

">> You're not a priest sent by God. We, we don't need you. We have the church."

">> but I have gift."

">> We don't need you. You're nothing. You're nobody."

"This is very cult-like. And, uh, this type of demeanor was, uh, very prevalent during the Dark Ages. And those that refused to bend the knee to organized religion came across guys like this who enjoyed taking your teeth out and doing far worse to you."

"gift of Holy Spirit. God, God give me Holy Spirit, not you, not people."

">> don't. You don't have to give us the Holy Spirit."

">> Yeah, yeah. On what time? When I repent for my sins, I baptized in water and I get Holy Spirit."

"part of the church that God started. I don't. We have one true church. We're the chosen of Abraham. We don't want to know this carpenter from Nazareth. We are the Lord's elect. We are cult-like. And you are nothing. You're nobody. Just a pleb on a street corner with a camera going around trying to, uh, help people."

"You got two wrongs here, of course. The, the Pentecostal holds to the sign gifts. But the arrogance that he's up against..."

">> You need to be a part of the church. You need to be baptized by the church."

">> but apostles, apostles, uh, Baptized by the church? Paul said I wasn't sent to baptize but to preach the gospel. Who made you a Christian? Peter, Peter, Peter was a..."

"Who baptized you?"

"God. God."

"When?"

"Jesus give Holy Spirit, not, not people."

">> How did he baptize you? When?"

"When I, when I repented."

"In, in the Acts of the Apostles, do you see, do you see that happening?"

">> Yeah, I, I, I speak in tongues. I speak in tongues."

">> does that happen? Actually, it does. In chapter 16, Paul says to the jailer, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.' No hands put on the jailer, no speaking in tongues, incidentally. Or did Peter baptize and the apostles baptized?"

">> Yeah, but they speak in..."

"Christians on that, on that day."

">> in tongues. Do you want to meet?"

"They believed the gospel first, then later on were baptized. You do speak in tongues like apostles did."

">> Is that how they did it?"

">> Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, yeah, they did speak in tongues in the book of Acts. This much, that much is true. But of course, the tongues they spoke in were known languages, not the gibberish you hear and see all over the place today."

"Who sent you then?"

"We're, we're, we're done."

">> Yeah, that's the Holy Spirit. That's the Holy Spirit."

">> Goodbye."

"And there you are. Smug. Self-righteous. Arrogant. Organized religion. Mocking this Pentecostal character who appears to be sincere, although his theology is also flawed. But, uh, this is what it was like during the Dark Ages. During the Inquisition, men dressed in a uniform, condescending, patronizing, and, uh, questioning your salvation, belittling you, and basically saying if you don't follow their rules, if you're not part of their club, you're lost."

"When the truth be known, they are lost because they're trusting in their mysteries, their baptisms, their priests, and, uh, baptismal regeneration, intercession of the saints, so on and so forth. This is what the word of God says in Revelation 18:4. 'Come out of them, my people, lest you be partaker of her deeds,' so on and so forth."

"Bless you all in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Amen."
