You would be amazed how much this symbol shows the truth and answers many of the questions we may have had. And I'm going to show you in this video just how profound this symbol is.
This is a seven branch manora which was commanded of God to be made for the temple in the Old Testament. It's fashioned from one piece of gold and it had to be hammered together instead of molded. And that part will become very significant shortly. And it shows who the true messiah is.
In fact, in the book of revelation, it speaks of the seven candlesticks, the churches in revelation. Seven being the number of completion in the Bible. So the complete church, the complete body of Christ represented by seven candlesticks. You see that same symbolism from the Old Testament into the New Testament about the Lord Jesus Christ. And I'm going to show you in this video just how profound the manora is.
"I am the vine. You are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit."
So you see the basic design of the monora is that you have this central branch up the middle and then each of the other branches coming off it. They actually are held up and supported by this main branch. In a sense you could say that this central branch it holds it all together. Now in some traditions this central branch is called the sheamash and the word shamash means the servant because you know it holds all the other branches together on this middle one and some might even light the rest of the manora by the use of the central candle. So it gives light onto all of the other branches.
Now, some of you already will be thinking, "Wow, that sounds familiar." And indeed it is. Because Jesus Christ in the gospel, who is the lion of the tribe of Judah, he is the servant king, he came as a servant. The Bible says that the greatest the greatest among you will be your servant. And Paul the Apostle in the New Testament, he says that Jesus Christ, he holds all things together. And in the book of Revelation, it says that Jesus is the one walking in the midst of the candlesticks of the seven churches. And yeah, it's just wow. Just just incredible. And this is just the start, folks. This is just the start about how amazing this is and what God commanded to be put in the temple with very specific instructions just shows how true Jesus Christ is and that he is in fact the Messiah.
See Jesus as that servant king, he came to earth and he is the light of the world. And those candlesticks, they represent light, a light in the darkness. And Jesus being that foundation. He's the one who gives us light as his people. Those who follow Jesus Christ are indwelt by his spirit and his light and he comes to dwell within them. Now, that's not something that indwells us naturally like the New Age teaches. The Bible makes it clear that we are all lost in darkness under the dominion of Satan, of death and sin, until we are made new and regenerated by the light of life, who is a person, the Lord Jesus Christ.
But in order to bring us into his kingdom, and this is where it gets really interesting, this manora had to be fashioned with a hammer in order to make it according to God's instructions. It couldn't be molded. It had to be fashioned with a hammer. and you know from one piece of pure gold. So one you know there's the oneness in Christ as his people and it was indeed made of pure gold but it had to be fashioned with a hammer just like Jesus Christ when he came to save us from our sins. He was beaten. He was bruised. He was whipped and he was nailed to a cross with a hammer. He was beaten for our sins. He was crushed for our iniquities. They pierced his hands and his feet to fulfill the prophecy in the book of Psalms. But this shows it because this piece of pure gold, the seven branch manora, as you can see, is beaten and fashioned with a hammer. And that's what Jesus did for us. The servant king, the central branch who holds us all together, that's what he did. He was nailed to a cross with a hammer and he went through great suffering on our behalf. And just really this demonstrates that. I mean, how amazing is that? Is that you can you can see the gospel in this ancient symbol uh which which was in the the temple. You can see it.
And much like Jesus, those that follow him, those of us who want to be his disciple, who desire him, who want to grow in him, who want to be faithful to him because he's already saved us by his blood. We also, as the Bible says that those who seek to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. Uh and it also says in the book of Acts that through many tribulations we do enter into the kingdom of God. But this is gold. This is pure gold. And yet it has been beaten with a hammer. And despite the the hardship, despite the suffering, it's being made into something that is extremely valuable and as precious like gold. And this is like us when, you know, through the journey of sanctification, when we grow as Christians, it's it's all got a purpose. You know, it's it's leading to something amazing where we will be glorified through his grace and mercy, through none of our own doing. You know, those who humble themselves will be lifted up. And he is creating a people for himself that he is sanctifying that sometimes, yes, we're allowed to go through hardships and difficulties, but the finished product is going to be absolutely amazing because he will give us a new body that will never sin. Thank God. Cuz I struggle with that a lot through my life. A lot of sin, greed, pride, shame, all sorts of evils in my own heart. But no through no goodness in me. Christ as the center, Jesus as the center is the one who brings us into union into one body with him to be fashioned like gold even if things are difficult just like Jesus himself said. And he also said that you know if you're if they hated me they'll hate you.
Now I want to show you something else that's pretty interesting with this this seven branch manora. What else took seven days to create in the Bible? In the book of Genesis, creation was a 7-day process. And I understand there's differing views on things like this. And it's not meant to create contention or to say anything that's definite, but I just want to share this with you because I find it quite interesting and encouraging. So creation took seven days. Now that's interesting because the seven branch manura in some people's views represents the seven days of creation. Again, the number of completion is seven. God does everything that he does perfectly and very orderly and structurally. So yeah, seven days of creation on the seventh day he rested and that's uh became known as the Sabbath, the day of rest.
And some of the early Christians were known to believe what's called the millennial day theory. The millennial day theory. And they believed that there would be 6,000 years of human history. And then on the last day of human history, there would be a Sabbath, a day of rest, aka the thousand-year reign of Christ. That's what they believed largely in the early church until origin and Augustine, you know, kind of popularized the allegorization. But a large apparently a large part of the early believers held this view. And they also got this from verses like "a day with the Lord is as a thousand years as a thousand years is a day" and that's how they interpreted it. So this also if their view is true could represent the creation uh the seven days of of creation and the last day being the day of rest.
Now, what is interesting, according to some with this view, there are the first 3,000 years is like the the Old Testament in the Bible, starting with Adam, and then the other side is like the New Covenant and then the millennial reign of Christ as the last thousand years. And what's interesting is that that would make the central branch, the 4,000th year from the beginning of human history with Adam at the start. The 4,000th year would be when Jesus Christ came and died on the cross in the center of human history. Right in the middle of human history, the 4,000th year where Jesus came and died and rose again for the sins of all people who repent and believe in the gospel. And Jesus came right in the middle as the savior of his people right there as the second Adam. And then he returns at the end of the sixth day to the seventh day, the Sabbath, the day of rest, the thousand years of peace where he rules with a rod of iron and you know and returns bodily in his second coming to finish off that last thousand years and uh and then onto new heavens and a new earth and eternity. So that's a really interesting theory. It really is. Uh and I just bring that to you as an opinion that some people have. And it just it does seem to to be what the many of the early believers held in terms of the millennium being like the last day of the last thousand years. It's called historic premillennialism. And uh you know that's not exactly the same as dispensationalism. It's got some some similarities. Uh but a number of people have held that view. So I just bring that to you. This is not to cause division. You know I know that some people are a millennial. These things are not dividing topics and it's really sad when they cause that kind of thing. And I'm I'm also not personally not um pre-trib myself. Uh but you know open to that other people do have different views at least. I'm not here to these are not things to divide over.
But so Jesus truly is the center of everything. Jesus said "before Abraham was I am." He is the logos. He is the reason why. He's the God man. Jesus Christ. He's God the son. He holds everything together folks. He holds everything together. How amazing. How amazing is that?
I'll just read a few things out. According to John J. Parsons from Hebrew for Christians, the central lamp was never to burn out and was always to be lit. This reminds me of how Christ, the eternal one, and his sacrifice has given us eternal life that saves us forever. He is the eternal one, and he never goes out. He's He's from eternity past to eternity future. And they liken it to this. Hosea chapter 6 verse 2: "After 2 days will he revive us. In the third day he will raise us up and we shall live in his sight." And some see the oil used in the manura as a picture of the gospel of God's grace that keeps the flame burning when people come to him and are indwelt by his spirit.
So very interesting. We need to share the gospel and we need to be light in this world, this world of darkness. And that's really what this shows us to me. I'm not saying I'm anywhere near perfect, but we know that the light comes from him. And he is the one that helps us to overcome the darkness and to shine for him no matter the cost, no matter the cost that that it is to follow him. And uh it's just a really to me a really uh clear and incredible picture of that. We can face the challenges of this world, the persecutions, the suffering, and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are the called according to his purpose and that he is refining us like gold.
