Perhaps you've noticed that CH GPT5, which we've been using for the past couple of months, has been somewhat cold and soulless. Many even said it became dumber, even though technically it was more powerful. Well, Open AI has admitted this. They've just released GPT 5.1. And this isn't just an update, it's a complete fix of errors that brings humanity back to chat GPT. In this video, we will conduct a full breakdown of GPT 5.1 and understand what has actually changed. First, I will show you the new dual-speed system. GPT has fast and thinking modes. Second, we will analyze the personality revolution. I will show you the new eight presets that allow you to customize the AI's character from friendly to cynical. Third, we will look at real business cases. I will show how this update allows lawyers and analysts to save hundreds of hours by increasing the accuracy of document analysis. And in the finale, I will tell you about the most important, hidden feature for developers, which is the first step towards creating real AI agents. Before watching the video, I ask you to subscribe to the channel, like this video, and leave a comment. Enjoy the breakthrough. So, the main problem with GPT5, which everyone complained about. It was cold, detached, and slow. You would ask it a simple question, and it would go to think for 30 seconds, and then give an answer like from a textbook. This was frankly annoying. Open AI solved this problem by dividing it into two speeds or two modes. Mode one: Instant. What is this? This is the new default model, meaning the one that is activated for everyone immediately. And it's different. It's fast, but most importantly, warm, conversational, and even playful. Open AI specifically tuned it to be pleasant to interact with. It's designed for 90% of our daily tasks. Writing a quick email, rephrasing a paragraph, asking for some fact. Secret weapon. For the first time, even the fast model has adaptive thinking. What does this mean? If you ask it a simple question: "What is 2 + 2?", it will answer instantly. But if it understands itself that the task is complex, for example, you gave it a piece of code or a complex math problem, it will decide to think longer to give you an accurate answer. It no longer sacrifices accuracy for speed. Mode two: Thinking. What is this? This is heavy artillery. This is the mode you turn on manually when you need the AI to truly immerse itself in the problem. Writing a complex business plan, analyzing code, solving a scientific problem. How does it work? Here's the most interesting part. It dynamically decides how much time to spend on your task. Open AI says that for simple tasks, this mode now works even faster than the old GPT5, and for the most complex ones, it's slower. This means it doesn't rush and truly thinks to give you the best result. Cool feature: return of control. Open AI very cleverly solved the waiting problem. Before, you would just stare at the blinking cursor and not know if it was frozen or thinking. Now, when the Thinking mode is working, you see its chain of thought on the screen. Panels appear. Analyzing the request, considering options, formulating the answer. You literally see that it's working, not just hanging. But if you get tired of waiting, you can press the "Answer now" button at any time. It will immediately interrupt its deep reflection and give you a quick answer from the instant model. Finally, control has returned to us, the users. Mode three: Auto. What is this? This is a mode for everyone. It's the default. In this mode, it decides for itself which of the two modes, Instant or Thinking, to use for your request. It analyzes not only your request but also the previous conversation and even your habits. How often you yourself switch to Thinking. The second, and perhaps the most noticeable change, is personality. Before, to make chat GPT speak, for example, more formally, you had to write complex prompts in custom instructions: "You are a business assistant, your tone is formal." This was not very convenient. Now Open AI has given us a simple and clear tool to control the AI's tone. In personalization settings, there are eight ready-made character presets. You can choose how you want your AI to be. Let's look at the most interesting ones. Professional, direct, formal, structured. This is the ideal option for work. Friendly is that very warm, responsive tone. Great for everyday communication or brainstorming. Efficient. This is the former robot, maximally concise, to the point, no fluff, only facts and lists. Ideal for working with code or, for example, getting quick data. Straightforward speaks directly, honestly, without embellishments or softening the edges. Eccentric, unusual, creative, uses unexpected analogies for those who are bored. Nerd answers with enthusiasm and goes into technical details. Loves complex topics. Cynical, skeptical, a bit sarcastic, finds flaws in everything. And by default, a balanced option. You can also finely tune conciseness, warmth, and even the frequency of emoji use. The most important change in operation. Before, to change the tone, you had to start a new chat. This was terribly inconvenient. Now you can change the personality right in the middle of a conversation. For example, look, I'm having a dialogue in friendly mode, and now I go to settings, change it to professional, and write to it: "Continue." The AI on the fly picks up the new formal style without losing the context of our conversation. This means the personality layer now works separately from the brain, and this is really very convenient. "Okay," you might say, "characters are fun, but how do you make money from this?" And here's how: these personalities are not entertainment, but powerful tactical tools for business. Imagine you are an entrepreneur, you've written a ten-page business plan for your new startup. You are full of enthusiasm. Before, you would give this plan to chat GPT and ask: "Evaluate my business plan." And what would it answer? It would always answer: "Great plan, you're doing well. Here are a couple of general tips." This support is pleasant, but absolutely useless for business. Now, a new approach. We do it differently. First, we go to personalization settings. Second, we choose the cynical preset. Third, we upload our business plan and give it the same prompt. Evaluate my business plan. What do we get as a result? And this is where the real work begins. The AI and the Cynic answers you: "Well, the plan is ambitious, now let's get to business." First, you wrote that your market is everyone from 18 to 65. This means you don't know your customer. Second, your financial model assumes a 30% growth in the first month, which is statistically impossible without a gigantic marketing budget, which you don't have. Third, you completely ignored, and so on. Conclusion: you get harsh, honest, no-frills criticism. The AI acts as a devil's advocate and helps you find weaknesses in your plan before investors do. Similarly, you can use the nerd preset to help you work out the technical details that the cynic tore apart. This is no longer a toy, but a real tool for stress-testing your ideas. All these personalities are good, but real money for business lies in the brains, i.e., in the mode. Let's look at a standard but very complex task. Imagine you are a marketer or a small business owner. You need to launch a new product, say, eco-friendly water bottles. Before, you would have to spend a week on research, brainstorming, writing texts. This is a long and expensive process. New approach. We turn on the Thinking mode because it's a complex multi-step task, and give it a very detailed prompt. And what do we get as a result? We press Enter. And we see how the AI starts to work. Its chain of thought appears. Understood the task, starting audience analysis, thinking about slogans, developing a content plan. It doesn't rush, and after a minute, it gives you not just a set of words, but an incredibly detailed structured document. It describes the audience: student eco-activist Anya, fitness enthusiast Mark. It provides ready-made slogans. It writes three ready-made social media posts, and even describes what images to generate for them. This is not just an answer, it's already 80% of a marketer's work done. The old GPT5 would give you a general cold list. The new GPT 5.1 uses the Thinking mode, having truly planned and executed a complex creative task. Let's look at another pain point for any business: hiring an employee. Imagine you are an HR manager or a team lead looking for a programmer. You posted a vacancy and received 100 responses, 100 resumes in PDF or Word format. You have to spend a whole day manually opening each file, reading it, comparing requirements with the vacancy. This is hellish, boring work. In the new approach, GPT 5.1 has shown huge growth in document data extraction accuracy. Let's use this. We turn on the Thinking mode because it's a complex task. And the prompt: efficient, because we only need facts without fluff. After that, we upload the file with our vacancy so that the AI understands who we are looking for. We upload a folder with resumes, write a prompt. The AI again goes to think. It meticulously reads each of the 100 resumes, compares it with the vacancy. And after a few minutes, it gives us a clean, neat table. It has five names, not 100, but five most suitable. It didn't just find keywords, it understood the essence. It saw that one candidate has 10 years of experience, but not with Python, and discarded him. And another has Python, but 3 years of experience, and also discarded him. You've just saved 8 hours of monotonous work. Instead of digging through files all day, you immediately start communicating with the five best candidates. This is real measurable benefit for business. And now the most important part, in my opinion. What almost no one talks about, because it was hidden deep in the developer documentation. Open AI has given us two secret tools that are the first real step towards creating digital assistants or AI agents. I'll explain as simply as possible what this is. Tool one: Shell, the eyes and ears of the agent. In simple terms, Open AI has given the AI agent the ability, of course, with your permission, to see and interact with files and folders on your computer. How does it work? Before, the AI lived in a vacuum. It didn't know what you had on your desktop. Now it can plan actions. For example, I want to see what files are in the downloads folder. It suggests a command to you. Your application, which you or someone else wrote, executes this command on your computer. You return the result to it, simply a list of files. The AI looks at this list and plans the next step. For example, ah, I see the report.pdf file. Now I want to read it. Tool two: Apply patch. The hands of the agent. In simple terms, these are hands. It allows the agent not just to write code or text, but to edit it safely and accurately. How does it work? Before, to fix an error in code, the AI had to rewrite the entire file. And, as a rule, while it was rewriting, it broke something else. This was not always reliable. Now it can give a precise surgical command: in the index.html file, delete line 5, and after line 10, add these two new lines. This is 100 times more reliable. Economics. Why has this become possible now? Such agents that work in a cycle, planned, did, thought, did, were incredibly expensive, because at each step you had to resend the entire conversation history and all its instructions, and you paid for it every time. Open made a brilliant move. They introduced memory or caching. This means that if the agent sends the same system prompt, i.e., its instructions, over and over again, you pay the full price for it only once. All subsequent repeated sends are almost free. Open AI has not just allowed us to create digital assistants, it has made them financially viable. This is the foundation for a whole new economy of AI agents. Everything I've told you sounds great, and it truly is. But as always, I must show you the other side. For this new warmth and humanity, a price had to be paid. In the official safety document that Open AI published with the update, there is very alarming data. Open AI engineers themselves admit that while they have softened the model's character, it has performed worse on safety tests. The new fast model showed deterioration in the categories of emotional dependence and mental health. That is, it began to generate responses more often that could encourage unhealthy attachment. The thinking model showed deterioration in the categories of harassment and hate speech. Simply put, Open AI consciously lowered safety to make the model warmer and more pleasant. This is a very slippery slope, especially considering that the company is already being sued for allegedly contributing to the formation of unhealthy attachments. This is something you should be aware of. So, what's the conclusion? GPT 5.1 is not GPT6. It's not a leap in IQ. It's a huge leap in AQ, emotional intelligence. And more importantly, in reliability. For ordinary users, you have a warm, pleasant to interact with model that can be controlled. We can customize its character to our liking like a character in a game. For business, we have a truly reliable tool for automation. Improved accuracy in document work is not just a number, it's thousands of saved work hours and real money. For developers, we have a green light and, more importantly, economic fuel: almost free memory for creating real digital assistants. Now it's your turn. Remember that Chat GP5.1 has eight personalities, including the cynic and the nerd. What is the most boring or difficult work task you would entrust to one of these new personalities? For example, I would ask the nerd to create a detailed plan for learning a new program, including practical assignments. Or I would ask the cynic to read the terms of my new loan and find all the pitfalls. Write your ideas in the comments. Thank you for your time. Start using AI not as a toy, but as a tool.
