Hey friends, welcome back to the Destination Baby and Kids YouTube channel. This is Gina. I am your host, and I'm very excited to be here with you today to do a remake of a video I made all the way back in 2019. So, this is going to be a video going over the Click Ling infant seat.

Let's talk about the Cleling and what makes it fabulous and why I felt it necessary to redo this video um so many years after the fact.
Okay, so clinging is going to be this car seat that you see directly behind me here. And now it's going to be in front of me. I have the seat and I have the base. The seat is an infant seat. So this is a seat that you would use for a newborn baby from 4 lb. It will hold all the way up through 32 in and it will go to 35 lb. So it holds a pretty large child. I would say it will easily take you through the first birthday. So we love that on our infant seat. Now, it's not particularly special. A lot of infant seats do that. So, let's talk about what makes KLEC special.
Cle is going to be special for the following reasons. Cle is made in Canada. It's a North American-made car seat. With everything being made in China and tariffs being what they are, it's very exciting to have products that we don't have to have insane price jumps on. Um, and that have held steady at a very reasonable price considering that they are obscenely safe. So that's the next thing I want to talk about. So first is made in North America, made in Canada. We love that. Secondly, Cle is the pioneer for safety in the United States. So they pioneered something called rigid latch for the US. And if you don't understand what that is, latch stands for lower anchors and tethers for children. Lower anchors on car seats typically are not made of steel that has steel running all the way through the seat that will attach to a steel bracket in your car. So, it's metal on metal. Um, this is specifically unique. They were the first to offer this on a forward-facing car seat. So, they have a bigger kid car seat that is a convertible seat, which means it goes backward and forward called the FOF. The FO has that rigid latch for a forward-facing car seat. No other seat uh up until a new seat came out this last year had offered that. So like they have been on the cutting edge of safety in North America for as long as I have been selling car seats. So I had a collect for my nephew. I am definitely biased. I'm a car seat technician. So safety for car seats is probably my overarching biggest most important criteria. And then all the other stuff about looks, you know, weight, all of that is secondary. So, uh, they are on the cutting edge of safety. They publish their safety pulse rates. So, if you want to go to their website and learn about some of the things that make them insanely obscenely safe, you're welcome to do that.
And so, speaking of that, this seat is going to be FMVSS 213A compliant. So, that is very exciting. This is a new side impact test that's just been introduced to the United States. These seats do not have to be compliant currently. They don't need to be compliant until at least 2026 and probably even further down the road from that. However, it is an amazing piece of mind to know that if you were to buy this seat today, it would be compliant with that new standard. So, that is fabulous. Another thing for safety: My nephews are redheads, so I find that sun coverage that gives them complete and full sun coverage so that we don't have to worry about skin cancer cuz the kids get the most sun uh exposure the first two years of their life. This is an incredible feature. So, I love that. And then in addition as far as overheating on the back of the seat, which you generally wouldn't flip it around with a kid in it, but the idea here is to show the viewing audience that the entire back panel here of the seat is going to be the ventilation uh with SPF 50 or UPF 50. So it can be open still sun shading and then when you want to close it up, it is a magnetic closure. So there's no velcro to wake up baby.
Another nice feature of the seat is going to be um Click is a really really green brand and so the materials that they use for the seat are uh the highest possible quality in terms of feel but then also uh like this color here is called railroad. This is a flame retardant-free fabric. So that is very exciting. Um, they do also offer a wool version of this car seat. So the material is wool which is inherently flame retardant. Um, they do offer other colors which may not necessarily be FR free, but the flame retardant on the seat would be a non-brominated, non-chlorinated flame retardant that would make no contact with the kiddos's skin. The other thing as far as the seat being green is that it's one of the few brands that's fully recyclable. So, if you contact Clack or if you go to their website, they will have indication of how to recycle this seat, which is fabulous because it's like, what kind of world are we leaving for our kids if everything's disposable sitting in a landfill?
Now, that being said, again, this is a very exciting seat because at the $4.99 price point, it's going to have a 9-year expiration. Okay, what does that mean? It means that I can use it from my first baby that I had this year and let's say I have a kiddo 7 years down the road. I mean, at my age, oh my god. But like still, let's say this is you. You have a kid, your kids are seven years apart. This seat would still be able to be used 7 years down the road cuz it hadn't expired. But then on top of it, it's actually warrantied for the entire life of the seat, provided you're the original purchaser. So that means that most seats, like if you took a Nuna Pipa Air RX, which is $650, by the way, made in China by the way, if you bought that seat, that has an expiration date as well, but it only has a one-year warranty. So let's say you did want to use it 5 years down the road and you open up the seat and you see that there is something maybe wrong on the internal structure or something that would need to be improved or replaced. That's not covered under a one-year warranty. This seat is covered under a limited lifetime warranty as long as you're the original owner and it's still not expired. So for this seat, that's 9 years. That is incredible. That means that they stand behind it the entire time. So when you make this purchase, you can make it with confidence that you're getting like the safest possible product available in North America, which is awesome. And you know, all car seats are safe. They all pass FMVSS 213 um the original, not necessarily FMVSS 213A. And any seat is better than no seat. Orientation, which is rear-facing, is always going to be 80% safer than forward facing. So again, we want to just make sure that we don't shame anybody into feeling bad about what they have. But if we're going to call out something to celebrate on this product, I will absolutely point out that they're like an industry leader for safety and they publish all of their information. They are far clearer about it than most brands, which is fabulous.
Okay. Um, another thing in terms of like safety with the seat that's so awesome. They've done some things before other brands have just in general. So, they were the first to the market with a reclining infant seat. So, something that people sometimes don't understand is like why does this matter? As somebody who installs seats all day, I can tell you it's fabulous to have an option for a seat that will go into a car. You set it up and then you adjust the recline after the fact. With most car seat bases, you install it and if the seat isn't at the correct recline level, there's usually a level indicator or bubble window on the side, but doesn't line up perfectly after you've done all that work to install it, you have to uninstall the seat, adjust some type of foot on the underneath portion of the seat, and then reinstall the seat until you get the correct recline level. This can mean four or five separate installations for the same base in one car until you get the correct level. With Click, you're going to install it and then you just adjust that piece once it's installed. So, from an installation standpoint, it is incredibly simple.
Other things that are going to be very brilliantly simple on the seat that I do want to point out, and this is on the base unit, all the moving pieces are white. So, if I pinch this white piece labeled recline, that's going to screw up or not screw up, but it'll screw with adjust the recline of the seat. If we squeeze this handle here, that's going to be opening up for a belt tensioning arm for our rear-facing belt path if we elect to install with a seat belt instead of rigid lower anchor. So, the seat can be of course installed either way. You also have a stability load leg. You adjust this with the white panel on it as well. So, again, everything white is a moving piece. Another piece that's I want to call out for safety is the stability load leg. Obviously, this is fabulous. There's several seats that have this, but what's specifically special about this guy is that it's one piece of telescoping steel going into another. If you're to look at Nuna, if you're to look at Cybex on the Pipa Air RX base and on the Cybex base, it's three and sometimes four separate pieces of metal telescoping into each other. That's a lot of points of failure. Um, one solid long piece makes a better mast for a ship than several pieces glued together. You know, we're not like going around the world with Captain Cook, but I'm just saying these are things about the actual build of the seat that make it superior. Fabulous. Awesome.
So, again, 9-year warranty, 9-year or well, lifetime warranty, 9-year expiration, made in Canada, awesomely safe base. can also install without the base with European belt routing method. That is very easy to do. It's called out very clearly on the seat and I'd argue ultra modern and beautifully. Anywhere where you see blue on the seat indicates where you hook it up to a car with just a seat belt. I have a video going over installation, so you can check that out. But I want to show you guys as well this railroad color of the fabric up close. Oh god, the lighting is so poor. But you see there is like a mild pinstripe on it which is very cool. And I'm not sure if that's showing up on camera necessarily, but there is a pinstripe on this material.
And something else that's unbelievable for convenience is going to be Click now offers the zip off material for cleaning. So I can unzip this fabric and take all of this out. And why is this black back here? This is EP shock foam. This is bike helmet foam in the seat, but I'm able to take out all of the interior piece to wash it. Why does that matter? Well, Nuna Pipa Air RX brags about giving you a secondary set of the infant insert. So, if it gets thrown up on or pooped on, you would have that second infant insert immediately ready to go. And that's so great. But like these infant inserts, right? This is what we're talking about. These generally come out after 11 pounds. So, this is true with the Nuna one. You take that piece out after 11 lbs. So, if your kid throws up milk in the car seat and they're heavier than 11 lbs, they're not replacing this piece to clean. And I'd argue even with a smaller baby, what about that material underneath, not just this? Cl's got you covered with the zip off material. So, um, they're the only premium car seat that I have, and it's an 8 lb seat, so it's very lightweight. It's like 8 lb 16 oz, just barely under, uh, 9 lb. And when you take out the infant stuff, obviously, it gets lighter weight. But there is one other feature that I really want to talk about here with this guy that sometimes uh, people don't understand. So, um, a lot of times when people buy Click, they'll ask about this brand, Bumble Ride. I'm going to zoom out slightly just so you guys can see some of these, uh, strollers that I have. Where is my Here it is. So, let's zoom out slightly.
Okay. So, we've got a Bumble Ride Indie directly or not Indie. I've got an arrow right here with car seat adapters on it. And I'm going to go ahead and throw my Click right onto the stroller. So, this is a stroller brand that people will pair with Click pretty frequently because they like the ecology green story that Bumble Ride offers. They kind of are like very cool as a little pair. It's definitely like in mind for maybe like somebody with a greener parenting philosophy. Okay, so Click works on that. Click is a single hand squeeze release to take it off this style of adapter. Okay, so that's very cool. That's pretty typical. Most car seats when you put them on a stroller, you squeeze a handle to take the car seat off. So that's Bumble Ride. Great. Let's look at Bugaboo, which again, most premium brand, right? $1,500 single stroller. I've got the car seat adapters set on my Fox 5 Renew right now for Cybex Nuna Maxi Cozy Click. And as you can see, the Click fits on no problem. I could have a Fox 5 Renew and I would be able to do a Click. We at this store and at many stores around the United States sell click with Bugaboo way more than Nuna. And people are like, "I don't believe you. Why is that?" Let me show you. Okay, you're buying a $1,500 stroller. You're buying a $500 car seat. So, this is $2,000, right? So, this is like very easy to pop that off and then theoretically, you know, fold my stroller up and move on with my day. If I were to switch to that Pipa Air RX that I was talking about, which is the $650 Nuna car seat, this will go on the Bugaboo as well. However, when I want to take this car seat off this stroller frame, I'm not going to squeeze the handle on the back. There is one, but it's not doing anything. Oops, I pulled the whole adapter off. Got to make sure that's on there solidly. Okay, so it's not doing anything. It's on there solidly, and even if I squeeze this, it's not going to come off. How I would remove this car seat from this stroller frame is by pressing two buttons simultaneously and then lifting up. Okay, so this is not unique to Bugaboo. I could take that uh bumble ride stroller that we were just playing with and because it has this same style of adapter, this prong style, if I put a Nuna on here, it won't come off with a single hand squeeze release. I would get that with Click, but I'm not going to get that with Nuna. So, for $650, I have to press two buttons to pull up toward the sky in order to remove it. At that price point, people get annoyed. They're like, I'm paying $650 and this thing is hard to take off my dream stroller. And so, like, those are two big strollers that are that way. I've got the little uh baby or uh the Stokke Xplory right here that has the same style of adapters that'll work with Click super easily. And then it's a single hand squeeze release to remove it. If I were to do Nuna on this guy, which I can do certainly, um, it is going to be a two-button pinch, release, and lift. So, it's more work. So, it's more work to take the fabric off to clean it. It's more expensive for this car seat. It doesn't have as long of a warranty. I don't believe the expiration is 9 years on this either. I'd have to double check just to make sure. um it's made in China versus the other one's made in Canada. So, that guy is more recyclable and they're more open about how to do that. So, there's just some real advantages to going with Clack that we'd want to be sure to kind of point out to consumers.
Additionally, just to show one other guy, we've got an Uppababy Vista here. Vista has actual separate adapters just for Click, which is pretty fabulous. Cle makes them that goes on the Vista. So, you'd want to be sure to like get the correct adapters. And all of these are available on my website, destinationbabykids.com. But, as you can see, we can make this Click Ling work on just about any stroller.
Now, one other thing just to get really crazy with it because um Nuna is a brand that'll go out of their way to force you to buy their car seat. So, like sometimes people get bummed out because let's say they buy a Demi Grow, which is this stroller from Nuna that I love. And the adapter that comes with it looks different than that prong style we saw in all those other strollers. The reason why they make this different ring adapter is because then when you put a Nuna car seat on it, you can remove it with a single hand squeeze release. Now, interestingly, Demi Grow comes with two car seat adapters cuz it's a stroller that can be for twins. And so, the secondary set of adapters that comes with it are prong adapters. Now, Nuna is going to say this is not insurance tested this way, so you should not use it this way. But just so that you're understanding, sorry, that's my timer that tells me that I've hit my mark. But as you can see, car seat will hook uh directly onto that adapter set and works with the Demi Grow, right? So, that same adapter set would work for their own brand car seat, but it's going to be a two-handed squeeze pinch release. So, again, Demi Grow is just sort of an outlier with Nuna because it comes with the two set of adapters. So, you could do a Nuna car seat or non-Nuna car seat. They'll get mad at me for saying that, but I just want to tell you guys that. And then one other thing just to show because it'll come up in the questions. Nuna makes a stroller called the TOV and the Triv Next. TOV and Triv Next in the United States come with an adapter that's like this. This is called a ring adapter. This will not work for Click. But if you were to buy the little bassinet for the Triv Next or the TOV, which we actually sell very well because those strollers don't lie flat enough for a newborn. If you end up buying their bassinet, their bassinet comes with an adapter that clips onto the stroller frame that will work uh with the Ling. Oops. You got to get it on just so There we go. But as you can see, it does hook on. Single hand squeeze release. Again, they are not insurance tested together, but this is just to show you guys that Ling will fit on pretty much any stroller under the sun. I wouldn't recommend putting them with Nunas, but just so you can see, it's that prong style of adapter that so many brands make that click enables you to do the single hand squeeze release for on the back of the seat. Again, it's this white handle. You'll squeeze it to take that car seat off.
