Even the best-looking electric scooter is not the best. It has issues inside too. Today, we are going to talk in detail about all the negative things, all the positive things of the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter, and how many Bajaj Chetak electric scooters are available in the Indian market, and which one is the most useful for you. Let's start with the negative things, and the very first negative thing is related to the battery. Many Chetak users have reported that the battery in their vehicle discharges suddenly, and because of this, the batteries of some users have also been changed. I would like to tell you that Chetak used a new and improved battery in the 35 series, so everyone thought that since it is a new and improved battery, there will be fewer issues. But issues related to the battery are still coming in the Chetak 35 series. Now, this has created confusion in the minds of customers whether they should buy the Chetak electric scooter or not. Because if there is a battery-related issue in their vehicle, then what will happen? Now, when they ask the showroom people about this, the showroom people say that the issues were coming before, but not now. Yes, let me clarify one thing here that for all those people who have faced battery-related issues, the battery in their vehicle has been replaced free of cost. The replacement took 15 days to 1 month. But if someone's scooter remains at the service center for 15 days to 1 month, their daily routine will be disturbed. Because of this, the customer will have to face inconvenience. You all must remember that we shot an ownership review video of a Chetak 3502 owner. This owner faced the problem that the battery in their scooter worked fine up to 50%. But as soon as the scooter's battery dropped below 50%, it would suddenly go to zero. Their battery has also been replaced free of cost. It took 15 days for this. So, Chetak should work on all these things and issue an official statement about what the whole mess is and what improvements have been made to the battery. The next negative point is related to service. Customers' complaints are overflowing, and these customers are saying that they do not get any official statement from the service center about what the problem is with their electric scooter, how long it will take to get it fixed, and when they will get their electric scooter back. And these problems are not from just one city; the situation is the same in many places. Now, one thing that is coming to light here is that the technicians at Chetak's official service centers are not very skilled to work on EVs. This is why so many problems are arising. Now, understand this. If a doctor cannot diagnose the illness, how can they prescribe medicine? Now, here is a small suggestion for Bajaj Chetak as well as all other brands: you should regularly train the technicians working at your service centers so that they can work properly on your vehicles. And you know, after-sales service in EVs is a very crucial thing. Because a person cannot service their vehicle outside. Even for small things, they will have to depend on the service center. Because if someone gets something done outside, their warranty will be void. So, it is very important for the company to properly train all its technicians. The next issue is related to riding. In EVs, the motor should be smooth. Meaning, as soon as you give throttle, the vehicle should move forward smoothly. There should be no jerking or jolting felt. But some Chetak users have felt this jerk. They have said that as soon as they accelerate, the vehicle moves forward with a jerk. And because Chetak also has a brake power cut feature like Ola, meaning as soon as you apply even a little brake, the vehicle will not move forward, and in Chetak, this lag is more. Meaning, even if you apply the brake slightly, the throttle response is a bit delayed. And in EVs, this brake power cut feature is called a safety feature, but when a new person drives it, it is a very different experience. The next issue is related to suspension. In Chetak's new electric scooter, Chetak C2501, you get dual-sided suspension at the front and rear. But in Chetak's older electric scooters, in the 35 series and 30001, single-sided suspension is provided at the front and rear, which is not very comfortable. It does not give you good riding comfort. So, if the roads where you live are not very good, you might feel a bit of discomfort while riding the Chetak. The next negative point is Chetak's regenerative braking system. You know, EVs come with a regenerative braking system. Meaning, if you cut the throttle, energy is saved, and it is a good thing in EVs. But the issue with Chetak is that you will not know when the regenerative braking will feel hard and when it will feel soft. Imagine it like this. You are riding the scooter. You completely release the throttle, turn it off. You will feel braking power in your vehicle. But sometimes this braking power will feel very strong, sometimes very weak. So, you will find it a bit strange. So, Chetak should work on this. The next issue is also related to the motor. Chetak C 2501 is Chetak's first scooter with a hub motor. All other Chetak scooters have a side-mounted motor. But when you reverse Chetak scooters, it feels like the motor is jamming, running tight. It does not reverse suddenly. It reverses easily in reverse mode. But sometimes, what happens is, like we park the vehicle in a narrow lane, and we are moving the switched-off scooter forward and backward, then you feel that the motor is running a bit tight. So, those who own a Chetak will be able to relate to this that when they move the switched-off scooter backward, the scooter runs very tightly. And you know, all the things I am telling you in the video, you will not get all this information in one place anywhere else, so definitely hype up the video and hype it up a lot so that this video reaches other people too and helps them. The next issue is related to app-connected features. Some owners of Chetak 3502 and 3503 have reported that the data of Chetak's app-connected features is not very reliable. For example, there is a lack of accuracy in charging status and other data. The next point, I cannot call it entirely negative because it has some positive aspects. Not all Chetak electric scooters support fast charging, and Chetak has no recent plan to offer fast charging or set up a fast-charging network. But instead, they are reducing the portable charging time of their electric scooters. Look here, in Chetak C2501, their new electric scooter, they are providing a 750 W charger, with which the electric scooter will charge from zero to 80% in just 2.5 hours. So, here there is a lack of fast charging, but the portable charging time is reduced. And you know, because it has a metal body, Chetak is a heavy electric scooter. If we exclude Chetak C2501, all other models are a bit heavy. So, after discussing all the negative points in detail, let's come to Chetak's positive points. But here I want to clarify one thing. Having negative points does not mean that Chetak becomes a bad electric scooter. All brands and all scooters have some negative points. Our job is to tell you everything so that you can make a good decision. And if you feel that Chetak is not a good electric scooter, then I have made videos on the positive and negative points of Ather, TVS, Hero, all of them. You can go and watch them. And brother, Chetak's best positive point is its excellent look. Brother, Chetak looks very good. I mean, if there was an award for the best-looking electric scooter, it would probably go to Chetak. And brother, because it has a metal body, its build quality is quite strong. Its boot space is quite deep. In the 35 series, there is 35 liters of boot space. And this Chetak 2501 has 25 liters of boot space. But the boot space of an electric scooter is quite deep. And here I want to tell you one thing. Chetak is one of those few electric scooters where you can easily fit an international standard full-face helmet because its boot space is quite deep, and most other scooters do not have such deep boot space. The next positive point is a big benefit for the customer. Whenever Chetak brings a new electric scooter to the market, it becomes readily available to the customer within the next 2 to 3 days. For example, just last week, Chetak launched C2501 in the market, and within three-four days, that electric scooter was available at the dealership. Meaning, the customer can go and purchase it directly. There is no booking hassle. The next positive point is that Chetak offers a good battery pack at a low price. Meaning, if we specifically talk about the 3503, it comes with a 3.5 kWh battery pack for an ex-showroom price of ₹1,10,000, giving an actual range of 115 to 120 km. And at such a low price, you only get such a large battery pack in Chetak and Vida, because other brands offer a smaller battery pack at this price. And you know, because Chetak only makes electric scooters in the family scooter category, their electric scooters are easy to use. Anyone in your family can easily ride it. The next positive point is regarding warranty. Chetak offers a standard warranty on the vehicle, battery, and motor for a higher number of kilometers. The warranty is the same for all Chetak electric scooters. Let me tell you here. The standard warranty on the vehicle, battery, and motor is 3 years or 50,000 km. And if you pay an extra ₹6,000, you can get an extended warranty on the battery for 5 years or 70,000 km. Now let's talk about how many electric scooters Chetak has in the Indian market and which one might be the most useful for you. So, brother, a total of five electric scooters from Chetak are currently available in the Indian market. And Chetak's lineup starts with Chetak C2501. This is Chetak's only scooter that comes with a hub motor and dual-sided suspension. Chetak launched this recently. Its ex-showroom price is ₹91,400. The tech pack amount is ₹3,000, and its validity is for a lifetime. It has a 2.5 kWh battery pack. Its IDC range is 113 km, and it has a 2.2 kW hub motor. And its top speed is 55 km per hour. Consider that you will get an actual range of 85 to 90 km. It is not a very performance-oriented scooter. It's a simple scooter for simple people. You might find the 55 kmph speed a bit low, but when you ride it in the city, it is sufficient. We ride at that speed in the city. It has 25 liters of boot space, and its boot space is also quite deep. Its design is completely different from other Chetak scooters. At the rear, you get seven ice cube LED lights. The good thing is that despite the low price, you are getting a metal body here. At the front, you get a disc brake and a 750 W charger, which will charge the electric scooter from 0 to 80% at home in just 2.5 hours. This scooter is light and small. So, this scooter is a very good option for people who are of short height and are looking for a scooter that anyone can easily ride. It has an LCD display, not a touch display, and it does not have any advanced features. The quality of the buttons is quite decent. And if you want to use app-connected features, you have to take the tech pack. Only then will their scooters get sports mode, reverse mode, and you will be able to use other features. If you are looking for an electric scooter with good build quality and fast charging at a low price, it is a great option. The next scooter is Chetak 30001. Its ex-showroom price is ₹1,24,000, and if you take the tech pack, you will have to pay an extra ₹3,000. It has a 3 kWh battery pack. Its IDC range is 127 km. You will actually get a range of 100 to 110 km. And it takes 3.5 hours to charge the scooter from 0 to 80%. It has a 3.1 kW side-mounted motor. Its top speed is 63 km per hour. Both tires are 12-inch alloy wheels. Both are drum brakes. And here you get single-sided suspension. The boot space is 35 liters. It has a circular color display. It gets hill hold assist, reverse mode, sports mode, and call and music control. Chetak 30001 is not a very good option in my opinion right now because for a little more money, you are not getting much more range. So, compared to this, Chetak C2501 is a much better option because there you are also getting dual-sided suspension, a 750 W charger, and a disc brake at the front. The next electric scooter in Chetak's lineup is Chetak 3503, and this vehicle's ex-showroom price is ₹1,29,500. If you take the tech pack, you will have to pay an extra ₹3,000 for it. It has a 3.5 kWh battery pack. Its IDC range is 151 km. You will actually get a range of 115 to 120 km. And it takes about 3.5 hours to charge this electric scooter from 0 to 80% at home. It has a 4 kW side-mounted motor, and its top speed is 63 km per hour. All other things are the same as you get in Chetak 30001. Look, if you want a little more range, you want a slightly bigger boot space, and you want a slightly larger-looking electric scooter, and you are ready to spend a little more money, then you can opt for the 3503 instead of the 2501. But the problem here is that even at this price, you will not get a disc brake at the front, and both suspensions will be single-sided. The next electric scooter is Chetak 3502, and brother, since this scooter came into the market, it has been Chetak's best-selling model. Its ex-showroom price is ₹1,22,500, and its tech pack is ₹5,000. It has a 3.5 kWh battery pack. Its IDC range is 153 km. You will actually get a range of 115 to 120 km. It takes 3.5 hours to charge the scooter from 0 to 80% at home. It also has a 4 kW side-mounted motor, but its top speed is slightly higher, 73 km per hour. It has a 5-inch TFT display. If you take the tech pack, you will get features like reverse mode, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth, call and music control, hill hold assist, and geofencing. See, Chetak 3502 is a good option for those who want a slightly higher top speed, meaning they want a bit of performance, and they want slightly better features, and they are ready to spend a little more money. So, those people can buy Chetak 3502 because you are getting decent things here. But still, I would say that if your daily running is only between 30-35 km, then Chetak C2501 is a better option for you because you are getting more features at a lower price. The next and last electric scooter is Chetak's most premium electric scooter, Chetak 3501. This electric scooter's ex-showroom price is ₹1,33,500, and if you take the tech pack, you will have to pay an extra ₹5,000 for it. It also has a 3.5 kWh battery pack, and you will get an actual range of 115 to 120 km. It will take about 3 hours to charge Chetak 3501 from 0 to 80% at home. Now, since you are spending so much money, you will get a touch display here. And along with the touch display, if you take the tech pack, you will get features like full map connectivity, adjustable sensitivity, document storage, call and music control, sequential blinkers, speed lock, hill hold, remote immobilization, over-speed alert, theft alert, geofencing, and accident detection. Other features are also the same as you get in Chetak 3502 and 3503. So, friends, this was detailed information about all of Chetak's negative points, all positive points, and their lineup. If you have been riding a Chetak for a long time, what do you consider positive? What is negative? What is your feedback? Please comment so that others can also be helped.
