I was floored to find Casey Jones working as an enforcer for the Foot Clan, while living in Japan. During a phone call with April O'Neal, he fights off thugs running a shakedown under Kad's protection. After taking a blow to the dome from a flying tuna, Casey quickly handles the situation and mentions that something feels off with Kad, but the call drops.
Later, Casey calls April back and reveals that after their encounter with a rat king, Kaday made him her adviser, and he was attempting to reform the Foot Clan from within. However, things changed when the Dog Star Clan appeared, making Kaday more unpredictable. Kad has been eavesdropping on his calls with April, especially ones about Splinter's Sons.
As Kad discusses this with a mysterious voice, The Voice questions, "Can you afford to give Casey Jones your trust when his first allegiance will always be to a rival?" Kad replies, "A fair point, I suppose, but still, Casey has always behaved honorably." The Voice counters, "It can't hurt to be certain, can it?"
