Unlike last week, this week's waiver wire actually looks very useful for fantasy football purposes. So whether you're going to win or lose this week, let's improve your team with the waiver wire. Let's just quickly dive into some key injuries that happened in week number eight.
Obviously Cam Scataboo, we'll talk about Tyrone Tracy here in a second, but he is out for the year. Quinnon Judkins, we're still monitoring how severe that shoulder injury is as he heads into the buy. Saquon Barkley with his groin, also heading into the buy. Harold Fannon, Luther Burden with the concussion. So, nothing too crazy outside of Scataboo, uh, Judkins, and Barkley.
Now, we did this segment last week. I want to do it again this week. We're going to call it honey traps. And basically, these are players that look attractive on the waiver wire, but I would encourage you not to spend a high percentage of your fab. They shouldn't be your first priority if you're in a priority league. They should be guys that you pick up completely free and have very low expectations on.
And I want to start off that list with Christian Watson who did come back, you know, this week and actually had a pretty good game, right? Came out there, four catches for 85 yards on four targets. But there are just too many weapons in this wide receiver room to compete with. Right now, you know, there is no Jaden Reed, but at some time you'll get Jaden Reed back. Matthew Golden, the young rookie, Romeo Dobs, they even use Savon Williams a little bit. Tucker Craft. I just don't think on a week-to-week basis in any league that's bigger than 14 teams that you're going to be able to start this guy on a week-to-week basis.
We can also talk about Isaiah Davis. He is much more of a stash than he is a true roster spot. Right? Last week, uh actually this week rather, he had 12 total touches, had a great game against Cincinnati. Now, if they end up trading Bree Hall, Isaiah Davis should be stashed, right? So, I'm not telling you to drop him, but certainly don't spend a bunch of your fab after a 17.9 PPR day, right? You're not going to do that.
Ollie Gordon as well. Yes, he had a good day, but keep in mind uh probably the upset of the week, the surprise of the week is the Miami Dolphins completely destroyed the Atlanta Falcons. So, they had opportunities to give in the second half and Ollie Gordon got some of them. I would not be picking him up.
Sazi Peron's actually interesting. If you have a free pickup, he is starting to get more and more work um compared to Chase Brown. Chase Brown is not the dominant running back in this backfield like he used to be. So, I think he's a better stash, but again, not someone I'm willing to blow my load on, if you will. Uh, Devin Neal didn't get a single carry. I don't even think Alvin Kamara is that valuable. Certainly don't want to have the RB2 in New Orleans.
Shawn Tucker, look, they're going to go into their buy and then there's a chance that Bucky Irving is back. So, there's a chance he gets demoted to RB3. Again, a stash if anything. Katon Mitchell, just not a player that I am, you know, overly excited about. There's just not enough volume with Derrick Henry there.
Trey Harris, you know, yes, he got into the end zone this week. He's a young exciting rookie, but again, you want to talk about too many weapons, we're talking Laquan McCoy, Quentin Johnson, Keenan Allen, Arande Gadston. There's just too many names for him to be a consistent uh player and a breakout in my opinion. Last name that I think could be a trap is Jaylen Coker. Again, much more of a stash than a pickup. Yes, he had 36 yards, 6.6 fantasy points, but that was with Andy Dalton, and we're going to get Bryce Young back. I just don't know what sort of value there is in Carolina.
Okay, so this is one of those weeks where you can go hard after a player on the waiver wire with the vast majority of your fab, whatever's left. That is Tyrone Tracy. He should be rostered in most of your formats, but in case he's available in your league, you should be going hard after him. Okay? I'm saying 60 to even 100% of your fab. You know what I mean? Like if you're out there and you've got so many injuries and you know, you don't have a clear RB2, what is it worth for you to find a starting running back in an ascending offense? Because that is what Tyrone Tracy can be for you. Don't forget guys, last year Tyrone Tracy took over this job as a rookie. He had 14 points in week five, 22 in week six, a 23-point game in week eight, 13 in week 10. You know, these type of performances were on a worse offense, by the way. 14, 19, 16, and now he's got Jackson Dart as his starting quarterback. He's going to be, I would say, a reliable RB2 for the rest of the year. What is that worth to you? For me, if I'm in a league where I don't have a clear RB2 I can start each and every week, that's worth all my fab even just to see what he could turn into being. Uh, by the way, after the Cam Scataboo injury, Tyrone Tracy was a clear-cut guy. 64% of the snaps, 56% of the attempts, and 55% of the routes, 16% target share. You know, Devin Singletary only played 19% of the snaps. So, Tyrone Tracy should be the guy moving forward there. Obviously, very sad to see our guy Cam Scataboo go down with an injury. He's not going to be back for the entire year. So, as sad as that is for Scataboo, it does mean that you should view Tyrone Tracy as a fringe top 24 to top 26, 27 running back rest of season. That's very valuable on the waiver wire in my opinion.
Okay, at this point of the video, I do believe there is a drop off in how valuable these names are on the waiver wire, but there are still some names that are interesting. These next five names I would have tied and it depends on your preference. Starting off with Taj Spears. Now, Taj is slowly, you know, really starting to make an impact in this backfield. You know, Tony Pollard is becoming much more of a 50-50 split. Taj Spears is showing a ton of burst, a ton of efficiency as well on the ground. In week six, over six yards per carry, 4.4 versus New England last week, 6.6 this week versus Indianapolis. A very good defense. You can see he actually led the way with snaps, 51% of the snaps, you know, two less carries, but had more routes and had more targets and obviously got into the end zone. He just looks like the better running back right now. So, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up taking over Tony Pollard's role, you know, by the end of the year. And Pollard is more that 30% guy rather than a true 50/50.
Okay, let's go to uh Cham DK. You know, I'm probably saying that first name wrong, but this is the rookie out of Florida. And obviously DK is a very exciting prospect. He had a 9.8 relative athletic score. Had an elite composite speed grade at 4.340 yard 4.3440 yard dash. had an elite uh explosion grade as well according to the relative athletic scores. Now, as we all know, Tyler Lockett was released from this team and that completely opened up the slot for DK to be featured and that's exactly what DK did. Last week, he had four catches and a touchdown, uh 16.9 fantasy points. This week, this is what we want to see. Even though there wasn't a touchdown, eight targets, seven catches, 93 yards. I mean, that is exactly the type of uptick in usage that you want to see for a young rookie wide receiver. He might be overtaking Alec O'Connell as the most valuable wide receiver in this receiving room. Again, took those eight targets, caught seven of them for 93 yards, led the team in receptions, receiving yards. That's very uh valuable potentially moving forward out of the slot, especially if you know he and Cam Ward just find some sort of chemistry. That could be very, very valuable.
All right, let's go to 2C. That is Dylan Samson. Now, if I knew that Quentin Judkins was going to miss a significant period of time, I would probably put him as the second highest pickup of the entire week. Now, I don't know that at recording. There's no signs to indicate that is a very serious injury, but if you don't know, Judkins did injure his shoulder. Here's the problem with picking up Dylan Samson right now is I don't think they're going to give you any information on Judkins because they have a buy next week. So, they don't really need to give you any information. So, you could be picking him up. Judkins could be available after the buy and it could be pointless. But, if Judkins is set to miss time a significant period of time, then I do think Dylan Samson would be the guy to pick up. Uh, so he's definitely a lottery ticket at this point. But, uh, when Quentin Judkins left the game with the injury, Dylan Samson had all three of the backfield carries as well as six targets. Ford had just one target. So again, in this game without Quentin Judkins, it was definitely the Dylan Samson show, right? I mean, this was his backfield. Uh, and you can see that here again when we look at PFF's um snap shares, you can see uh Dylan Samson 25 snaps, 13 for Jerome Ford. Dylan Samson, eight total touches, just two for Jerome Ford. So again, if Quentin Judkins misses a a big period of time, then Dylan Samson would ultimately have value. If you guys remember week one versus Cincinnati, he had 17 points. Week two versus Baltimore, almost 11 points. For a team that is willing to dump the ball off to the running backs, he could be very valuable.
Now, a guy that I know for certain will be a valuable starter next week, so maybe you prioritize him over Dylan Samson if you need a start this week. That is Zonovan Knight or Bam Knight. Now, Bam Knight completely took over the early down role for Michael Carter with the Cardinals here. You can see in week six, that's when he took over the role where he had 13 total touches, 51% of the snaps, got into the end zone. In week seven versus the Packers, he had 18 total touches, 14 on the ground, um over four yards per carry, and this week he gets the Dallas Cowboys. So, he's going to be a top 24 play in everybody's running back rankings simply because the matchup is too good. I mean, just go see what JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey did last week versus the uh Dallas Cowboys defense. So, definitely a name that is worth picking up.
All right, let's go do Troy Franklin. Look, Troy Franklin had a great game. There's there's no way around it. But at the same time, again, he faced the Dallas Cowboys. We are expecting players that typically don't go off to have great games against the Dallas Cowboys. That's just how bad that secondary is. And that's exactly what Troy Franklin did. Now, granted, he took advantage of his opportunities and made the most of them. Had six catches, 89 yards, and two touchdowns. Here's why I'm not higher on Troy Franklin. Love the guy out of Oregon, but next week he plays the Houston Texans. That is one of the worst matchups for your fantasy wide receivers. So, if you're going to go out there on the waiver wire and spend up on Troy Franklin, you might not even be playing him this week. So, I have a little bit of a difficulty doing that.
At seven, we will look at Brandon Aiyuk. Now, Aiyuk is according to um Kyle Shanahan, his practice window opens this upcoming week. So obviously if he returns uh you know from that injury here in week number nine, then you're going to wish you would have picked him up. He certainly should not be rostered in just 32% of ESPN leagues. Y'all got to fix that. I promise you.

Okay, here's a couple of names I just want to talk through quickly. Uh Tank Bigsby. Now, according to Saquon Barkley, he's not going to miss time. I mean, we don't know that for sure, but he says that he wanted to play through it. We'll find out. If I knew Saquon Barkley was going to miss multiple weeks, I would have Tank Bigsby much higher in the Dylan Samson range, right? Clearly, uh, when Saquon Barkley went out of this game, he had nine carries, 104 yards, showed why he was the clear backup to Saquon Barkley if Saquon was going to miss time. But again, the issue is the Eagles are on buy, so you're going to pick him up and not really know what he's worth.
Coulson Loveland, this could be the start of a breakout for the young rookie. He had a career-high five targets, caught three of them for 38 yards. 308 yards also a career-high. So, he could be ascending in his role. You know, the Texans wide receivers are just so hard to bet on, right? Because if Nico Collins was not in the picture, these guys all might have value. But with Nico Collins back probably next week after that concussion, uh, he'll be back. It's just hard to really start any of these guys.
We can also talk about Mason Taylor here quickly here versus Cincinnati. He had eight targets, caught five of them for 34 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a little bit of a fluke because it came from Bruce Hall, but he's a talented young rookie whose role is growing. He's more of a stash though again because he goes into the buy next week. So there's a lot of guys that you need to be cautious going hard after simply because they're not even available in week number nine. So you got to think that through fully.
Now I'm going to go through some week nine defensive streaming options. But just quickly, whether you won or lost in week eight, week nine presents a new opportunity to make some schmoney. Here is my latest DFS contest. I'm putting two times the bonus points on Jamar Chase. I mean, Joe Flacco is magnetball to Jamar Chase. Puka Nacua, I'm believing he's back this week. Kairen Smith DK against the Colts who are terrible. Their secondary is awful. And Travis Etienne against the Raiders. Should be a great day for him. Okay, here are my favorite streaming defenses for week nine. We've got the Chargers versus the Titans, the Rams, who are on buy. You might actually be able to pick them up before Monday Night Football. If you're in a league that lets you drop players that you you don't care about, you might be able to go pick up the Rams before Monday Night Football because they play the Saints this upcoming week. Uh quarterback is all crazy there in New Orleans. The Niners play the Giants. No Scataboo. The Lions play the Vikings. Uh the Jags play the Raiders. And the Packers play the Panthers. So, those are all great options if any of them are on your waiver wire.
