If you click this video, I first want you to know that this is the second edition to a bigger idea. The first was a video I put out last week titled "Your First 100k." I'll go ahead and link that up here, and if you haven't watched that, go check that out first, then come back.

And if you've watched my stuff at all, I try to talk about ideas and concepts in a bit of a different way. It's less technical analysis or some one-size-fits-all strategy. Rather, it's reframing or shifting mindsets in fresh ways to think about your own personal success. And this video is no different.

When you're making that first 100k as a trader, you're still trying to figure out exactly who you are in the markets. What assets are you trading? What time horizons? What risk tolerances do you have? What's your risk rewards? You're also meeting people and building your trading network for the first time. And that is, of course, important to your vitality and your longevity in this space.

But, make no mistake. The difference between you hitting that first six figs and making your way to your first million is huge. Because even when you have found your lane, and you have your process, and you have taken so many reps, you can still find yourself getting stuck in the mud and plateauing. You can and most likely will hit what feels like a ceiling for yourself. Maybe you make some good money, you give it back, you push up your size, then you make a mistake and you retreat. The account grows, and then it flatlines. And then there you are, wondering what the hell is the difference between you and somebody that is actually broken through and made that seven-figure amount.

So, let's discuss what needs to change within you to actually make that next step to the bigger level. Because if you're just trying harder at doing more of the same, you're just going to end up staying exactly where you are. So, by the end of this, you'll understand a few clear shifts that separate that six-figure hell from your first million. I understand, first-world problem, I suppose.

So again, I'm James, and I've been trading for over 13 years. And going from some early success to a longer-term required me to really change and carry out these seismic shifts in how I approached markets. Then to constantly dig deeper and think bigger.

All right, so what's first? Oh, simple, it's just sizing, right? You bet more, right? That should get you there earlier. Well, no, not exactly. It's actually more about your nervous system than anything. Your internal risk baseline, or aka your comfort zone. When you finally reach that first 100k, you've probably finally adjusted to it. Your swings, they feel kind of comfortable, your sizing feels correct and manageable. Heck, you might even You might even sleep at night. And importantly, you feel like you belong there. You actually have earned it. After all, you are a winning trader now with proof over time and a P&L to back that.

But, to reach that next level, that ominous seven-figure mark, you're going to have to push that comfort level, that comfort zone, much, much higher. And that actually means welcoming nominal swings that are going to be much bigger than you've ever experienced before. And guess what? You can't just like jump there. You can't go from risking two grand on a trade to 20 just overnight. You can't expect your brain and your body to just be able to handle that, even if you think you can. You got to picture it more of a staircase, right? It's It's the two steps up, one step back, chunking up each level. At some point, it'll start to feel normal. It's not sexy, but that's it. That's the process you need.

And by doing this, what you're constantly doing is resetting your baseline of your comfort. You're pushing that boundary a little bit up over time. You're training your nervous system and your psyche to slowly and gradually be able to take a little bit more heat, so that it doesn't actually affect your decision-making in the moment. You want to just skip steps? Do you want to just maybe size up during a hot streak? You'll feel invincible, right? Well, maybe, but most likely the markets will come back and humble you. Not just financially, but also psychologically. Because you're going to be taking a loss that your brain and your body was not actually ready for or prepped for, like we were talking about, and it can shake you to the ultimate core. So, you haven't had the actual time to truly believe that you deserve to be there. Nor do you have the experience or the reps. So, if this happens and you're not prepared, this is when many people will cave, they'll crumble, they'll fall apart, and they will blow up. The tale is old as time.

There's one of the famous traders, Stanley Druckenmiller, in a recent interview. He actually admitted that he himself felt like an impostor in this space at the level of wealth that he was winning for the first 15 years of his career. He didn't feel like he had earned it, that he belonged there. And that's that's something I can relate to as well. Feeling like you actually belong at that higher level of trading, like you deserve to win. That's amplified the higher and higher you go. And few people ever really push and test themselves to get past it and to kind of breach that barrier. Because at the next level, you're constantly going to be tested about your confidence, your self-belief, your identity as a trader on the whole. So, the ones who survive and they thrive are the ones who have gotten there gradually. They earn every single rung of that ladder. So, by the time they're actually operating at bigger size, the swings that would most likely destroy most people are just going to feel like a casual Tuesday to them. That, my friends, is what I call capacity, and that's that's earned, that's not just given.

So, this brings me to the next shift we need to talk about. And that is selectivity. In the video about 100k, I told you that you need to take more reps, that you need to get in the mix, you need to shake things up, and you need to learn about yourself. But at this level, the game actually flips. You don't need more trades. You actually need better quality ones. Million-dollar trader guys, they're not likely to be making 20 trades a day. More snipers. They're They're being patient, they're waiting. They're letting the game come to them. They're spending time pondering, thinking, scenario planning. And most importantly, they're searching for asymmetry. Spots where they're going to have a lot of confluence that builds upon their own specific edges, and also where the positioning is lopsided and the crowd is caught leaning the other way. That way, there's way more runway for your trades to move in your favor and very, very far in your favor.

Then when that setup actually reveals itself, they have an ability to recognize that in real time, and they're not just going to put on their normal bet size. They can press it, sizing into that conviction because they've earned the way, they've they've learned how to recognize a better spot in the moment. They know what real opportunity looks like. Most of you cap your upside because you take the same trade size in every single position. Same amount, same target, same approach. Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat. But to step up and reach that next level, it's time to think bigger. Time to think a little bit differently than before. Now, I get it, there are anomalies. Some people can make their strategies scale and work just like it's always been. But I'm kind of generalizing here, and I think you get what I'm saying. What truly matters here is losing small on the trades that don't matter and winning huge on the ones that do. This isn't reckless. This is not just me trying to be some home run hitter. It is strategic precision. It is strategic patience followed by decisive aggression. And it takes discipline and experience to sit on your hands and to wait for those spots. Especially when everybody around you is trading every little wiggle on every little asset.

All right, third is ownership. And I mean complete ownership. At 100k, people are just constantly still blaming things. Blame circumstances, they're blaming other players in the markets. It's manipulation, it's chop central, it's some headline or catalyst or insert whatever thing that caused the result. At the million-dollar level, that's got to be done. You got to be over that. Every result is your fault. Every loss is squarely on you. Every win is a decision you made. The market didn't do anything to you, you chose to be there at that moment. You used that size at that time in that exact position. And by the way, this is not beating yourself up. It's actually quite the opposite, it's empowering. Because once you take full accountability of everything, your preparation will get sharper. Your execution, it will get cleaner. Your willingness to sit out in a bad situation will increase. And you develop a healthy, humble [snorts] respect for the market. It is not fearing the market, it's respecting it. You understand that it doesn't owe you anything, and that it can take from you at any moment it chooses. So, you're not going to get cocky after a huge win or reckless when you're on a hot streak. You need to try and stay grounded because you You now understand that the market can test you at any point.

Okay, a couple more things. And the fourth shift, which I actually think is the most important in this video of all. And honestly, it's not about markets themselves, it This is all about you. And that is abundance versus scarcity, and I've talked about this a little bit before. Most traders that are stuck at that 100k level or they can't push past it are still stuck in that scarcity mindset. They want to protect what they have, and they don't want to lose it. They're treating their account like it's like a paycheck, pulling money out month to month, and deep down believing that it won't really keep coming and replenishing itself. And that fear, it's going to show up everywhere. How you size your trade, how you enter and exit, how you'll refuse to let winners run because you're just scared to not take any profit at all. It's safe and it feels comfortable. It feels like survival. But that scarce thinking is putting that ceiling on you and your performance. Guess what? Back to accountability, you built that ceiling. It is not the market that put it there. It's you.

So, the shift to abundance is about giving yourself that permission to win and to win a lot. Let me say that one more time. Give yourself permission to win a lot. A quick side note, I'm just saying this almost to myself because it's something that I dealt with for years. I never truly believed that I deserved success. Years and years of of meeting new people and thinking through these problems and slowly working in abundance into my life helped me break through that barrier. And by the way, uh a book that's good for this is Mindset by Carol Dweck. It's a good listen, quick one, but is all about this. It's amazing.

So, all I'm saying is you are allowed to be at any level. Anybody is. You got to be removing that subconscious cap that says, you know, this is as good as it gets for me. Because guess what? If you don't actually believe you're entitled to be in the upper echelon of this game, you're always going to find a way to self-sabotage yourself back to where you think you belong. You're going to have size down when it's time to actually press hard. You might take profits early on a trade that was actually meant to change your entire year. You retreat right when that breakthrough moment was there for the taking. That abundance will allow you to stop extracting from your account in lots of different ways. So, reinvest in yourself and your edge and let that compound. And the numbers, they'll start to grow faster and more abundantly than they ever have before. You stop trading not to lose and you start playing to win. You're on the offensive now, not the defensive. Those things sound somewhat familiar, but produce massively different results.

Then, that leads to you believing that there are always ample opportunities for you, that they're not just going to run out. This isn't the only chance you get. Your archetype, your experience, has earned you a seat at the table that most people will never get to sit at. This isn't you being arrogant. This is earned confidence. And it is the unlock that everything else is going to depend on. So, the only reason that the success will come is because you finally let it.

All right. And last up is again, I've mentioned this many times, your network. At 100k, I told you to find people who push back on your ideas, who trade differently or whatever. And that's still true. But at this level, you need to start being around people and in rooms where your ceiling are these guys' floor. People who are already trading and acting and being at the place you are trying to get to. People who have already solved the problems that you're about to face, who can look at your situation and already tell you some of the stuff that you have yet to even think about that are coming your way. Because hey, I mean, they've already been through it before. Your network needs to scale with you. Just like trading, you can't get comfortable just sticking around the same people as you go through this endeavor.

All right. So, let's let's tie this all together, shall we? That road from 100k to a million is not about, oh hey, I need to find a better setup or a new indicator or a different asset. It's about scaling your capacity slowly, deliberately. It's about becoming more selective and pressing into asymmetric spots when they present themselves. It is about taking complete ownership of all outcomes. It is about shifting from scarcity to abundance, giving yourself permission to win. And it's about upgrading your network to match where it's going, not where it's been. The same thing that I said in the last video applies here. Let go of any expectations or timeline that you have here. A million is not some sort of finish line. It's a byproduct of becoming the trader that you want to become. So, trust that process, let the game come to you. And when it does, don't flinch. Go make that seven figures. Good luck out there.

Of course, this is not financial advice. If you like any of this stuff and these types of conversations, the Discord link is in the description below. I've also been doing more live streams.
