How are you praying? Because if you are praying in bed, perhaps that's why God is not listening to your prayers. Today, I will show you the right way to pray and how to really talk with God.
Many people say, "I pray every day," but they do it lying in bed, half asleep, with their phone still in hand, body relaxed, and spirit dull." Do you think that's talking to God? Do you think that kind of prayer can move heaven and earth? God isn't your Facebook friend. He's not your roommate. He's the almighty God, the creator of the universe. If you're going to talk to him, you can't do it like you're talking to just anyone. You have to show respect.
The Bible says that Daniel, even though he was a governor, knelt to pray three times a day, and he did it with his windows open, not ashamed of his faith. Daniel 6:10. "When Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day, he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God." Jesus himself, at his hardest moment, knelt with his face to the ground. Matthew 26:39. "Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, 'My father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.'" The son of God knelt, and you pray lying in bed. Solomon, the wisest king, knelt before the whole crowd when he prayed to dedicate the temple. First Kings 8:54. And what do you do? Does your prayer start when you're already in bed and end when you fall asleep?
God looks at the heart, but that's no excuse for spiritual laziness. God looks for a heart that humbles itself, disciplines itself, makes an effort, and comes before him with respect. When you pray lying down out of habit, routine, or laziness, you're saying, "Lord, I'm talking to you, but without effort; I'm looking for you, but without moving; I want something from you, but I'm not willing to be uncomfortable." Do you think that's love? Is that worshiping God? Don't confuse trust with disrespect. Don't confuse closeness with laziness.
Listen carefully. Comfort is an enemy of spiritual fire. Do you think the great men and women of God grew by praying while lying in bed? No. They woke up early, fasted, knelt, and cried out to the spirit. Matthew 26:41. "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." And that's the problem. Many pray with a willing spirit, but their flesh wins every time.
Do you want a strong spiritual life? Then get up, shake off the laziness, close the door, go into your room, and seek God for who you know he is. He is your Lord, your King, and your everything. Matthew 6:6.
Don't misunderstand this. There are times when praying while lying down is okay: when you're sick, when you're broken, when the spirit visits you at night and speaks to you in bed, or when you simply fall asleep talking to him out of true tiredness. But if your entire prayer life is in bed, you have a problem. It's a sign of a lack of love. It's a sign of not fully giving yourself. There's a big difference between falling asleep talking to God and using prayer as a tranquilizer to sleep. Many pray to sleep better, not to know God. That's not talking to God.
God doesn't love a believer who prays lazily in bed. He loves those who get up and cry out, those who kneel, who ask from the depths of their soul and say, "Lord, I can't live without you. Get back your altar. Get back your fire. Get back that moment when you offer yourself as a living sacrifice." Romans 12:1.
Today, the Holy Spirit challenges you with a simple question. Are you praying like a warrior of God or like a sleepy head? It's not about what others think. It's about what your body shows about your heart. It's about whether God is truly your priority. Today is a day to wake up. Today is a day to stand up, kneel, and pray with fire again. "Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Ephesians 5:14.
God doesn't look for prayers. He looks for real prayers. He looks for hearts that aren't asleep but full of energy and love. Hearts that say, "Lord, here I am." No more lying down prayers. Today I stand up and seek you with all my being.
