three hacks to make fat loss faster through walking. So, I'm going to explain to you the approach that I use when I'm trying to lose some body fat and how I'm going to use walking to induce that. And I think a lot of times when I get a comment below, it says, "Oh, we'll just go for a walk outside. Fantastic. Let's talk about that."

Imagine I'm not on a treadmill. Imagine I open my front door. I go outside and I go for a walking around a neighborhood. That is a great place to start. If you are currently getting less than three or 4,000 steps a day, by simply walking more, you are going to look better and feel better. Fat loss comes down to creating a caloric deficit. Now, there are many things that go into our energy expenditure throughout the day, but our activity is one of the largest. Okay, that along with non-exercise activity are the largest things. Then we're talking about exercise, specifically going to the gym or doing something intentionally like that, but just moving throughout the day. That is the biggest hack.

It also you'll find my second hack is instead of just going for a walk, timing those walks. If you've never tried this before, after every meal, take a 15-minute walk, maybe 10 minutes. What's going to happen is because you're walking immediately, you're going to improve your digestion. And for those of you that are so worried about your blood sugar, your blood sugar is going to drop more rapidly because it's going to get used as fuel. And for those of you that are worried about spiking your insulin, blood sugar, and these kind of things, well, you can literally lower it just by exercising, by going for a walk. So, my second hack is take a walk after every meal. This is a great way to not only feel better, to be less tired, but to actually burn more calories throughout the day. And you just have to set it up so that you can, hey, take a short walk after each one of your meals.

My final hack other than just starting to walk, timing your walks would be to actually get on a device that allows you to control the intensity of your walks. Okay, so when I started this challenge where I walked every day for 60 minutes, I was walking at an incline of three and a speed of 2.5 for an hour. I'm now to the point where I'm on sometimes walking at a incline of seven or eight, speed of 3.2, 3.4. Why? Because I adapted and it's just as easy for me, but it allows me to burn more calories.

So, the three hacks when it comes to walking is make time to get your steps up, get outside and do some walking. When that no longer helps and you plateau, you need to start eating and then taking a walk. This is going to help you not only be fuller and have more energy throughout the day, but also lose body fat because you're getting more steps. And finally, when that starts to fail, when you start to plateau, get an incline treadmill and start pushing yourself to push harder. And all of this needs to be done with some accountability with nutrition.
