This is a huge week to improve your fantasy football team through the waiver wire. There is absolutely a league winner out there that you need to grab.
Just quickly, let's talk about some key injuries that happened here in week number four that will impact fantasy football. Obviously, Malik Neighbors out for the year with the torn ACL. We'll talk about waiver wire pickups as a result of that injury. Lamar Jackson, currently unknown how serious his hamstring is. Maybe monitor that and if you have him have a backup quarterback ready to go off the waiver wire. Josh Jacobs did deal with a knee injury that kept him out a little bit during Sunday Night Football. I have to monitor that. Maybe look at Emanuel Wilson on the waiver wire if you're a Josh Jacobs owner. Um outside of that, names like Darno Mooney, Tilman, Calvin Austin. These guys aren't starting. Lane Johnson, Joe Alt, important offensive linemen. So maybe, you know, it will impact the Chargers. It will impact the Eagles, but not in a way that's going to impact your starting lineup.
Okay, let's start with names that should already be rostered. The names on your screen right now, I'm not going to spend any time because I don't want to waste your time, but if you're in a smaller league, these guys will take precedent to all the names that we're about to discuss.
All right, let's jump into my number one pickup in week number five off the waiver wire. I do believe this has league potential. The only name this week that I will go hoard on, as in blow a lot of your fab on, as spin the number one priority, no doubt about it, that is Mr. Woody Marks. So when I say go hard, if you're in a fab league, I'm willing to spend anywhere from 45 to 60% of my fab. Shoot. I mean, if you're in a situation where you lost James Connor and you have a lot of other injuries as well and you're desperate for a running back, you might put that to 70, 80, I don't know. But the reality is Woody Marks looks like a potential league winner that is breaking out in front of our eyes. And look, I've been wrong on plenty of things this year. I will hold my hands up and I will say I am. That's just the nature of fantasy football. However, you can't say if you're a member of the Fantasy Land community, if you've been watching my content, you can't say we didn't already give you the inside scoop on Woody Marks before he broke out. Two weeks ago, we were talking about him on our stash video. One week ago, I mentioned him on our waiver wire video, begging you to take him seriously. And just days ago, before this week, LA last week started, he was our number one pickup on our stash video. Make sure you're subscribed and you've got the notifications on. We are beating the breakout every week on our stash video. Unfortunately, too many of you didn't see the vision. Just one of the many comments where people were like, "Why would I stash Woody Marks?" Hopefully, he's still on your waiver wire. We picked him up in the flock league on the 16th of September and just waiting for him kind of to turn into this guy.
So, question, why am I so in? That's probably what you're asking. Well, he's been slowly but surely taking over this role in Houston. You can see the split in opportunities between Chub and Woody Marks for the entire season. In week one, 85% of the opportunities to Chub. Then that goes to 80 to 60-40 in favor of Chub. Then this week, the takeover quote unquote officially happened. 40-60. And you can't even claim like, well, they were down in the game, so they had to use the pass catcher. No, they dominated that game. They absolutely beat the brakes off the Titans. The Titans didn't score a single point. It was Woody Marx's backfield. And you know, there was a question after the game to head coach Demo Ryan. He was asked by a reporter, "Will this be a time share?" He said, "Look, we'll look at it. Once we look at the film, we'll see which guy gives us our best chance." And he goes on and says more. You can pause the screen and watch this. But this week, the full takeover happens, okay? 40 snaps compared to 30 for for uh Nick Chub. He had 23 total opportunities, 15 for Nick Chub. And man, he turned those opportunities into fantasy gold. Almost 28 PPR points. 13 coming on the ground, 15 coming through the air. A true dual threat in PPR leagues. This guy could be an absolute cheat code. He could be the reason you sort out your running back problems or your flex problem. And by the way, this usage in the air, five targets this week. That is not a fluke. This is a guy that was dominant in college catching passes out of the backfield. Over 240 receptions as a running back in college at Mississippi State, at USC. incredible player that's starting to break out in front of our eyes. Don't forget that this team actually sent a third round pick in next year's draft to get Woody Marks in this year's draft. They saw something special in him. And if you watch the tape, you're going to see a special player as well. I believe the Woody Marks breakout is officially here. They do play Baltimore next week. We've seen Baltimore get ran all over by every single team. I mean, shoot, guys. Isaiah Pacheco. Yeah, Isaiah Pacheco just had a good game in fantasy football and it was against the Baltimore Ravens. So again, I'm willing to go hard, man. All right, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Broke money, don't make none. We're going to be aggressive on Woody if he's out there.
Okay, let's jump to my second pickup. Now, there is a drop off here in waivers this week. Woody's a clear top name. However, there are still valuable guys on the waiver wire. For example, Juan Dale Robinson. Not as aggressive on him. 10 to 15, maybe 20% of your FAB at most if he's out there on the waiver wire. As we know, obviously Malik Neighbors goes down with the injury, so he's not going to be back um for this team this year. Shout out to Ryan Heath over on Twitter. He actually noted the Giants target share from the um pretty much the time that Malik Neighbors went down. From that point onwards, you can see Well Robinson 30.8% of the target share, right, tied with him actually Theo Johnson. So, if you want to stash Theo in some deeper leagues, that's pretty interesting. But Juanelle the clear number one when Malik Neighbors went down with that injury. He had five targets. Now you know it wasn't the best fantasy days. Uh it ended up being just 4.4 fantasy points but we have seen plenty of safe flexible games from Well Robinson. I mean half of his games have been fine flexible plays this year. Week one versus Washington, week two versus Dallas. They've got a great matchup in week five versus New Orleans where he where he will be the number one wide receiver. He's a flexible name moving forward and that is worth a lot in a lot of your leagues out there if you're in a start eight, start nine, whatever the case may be.
All right, at 3A, I want to talk about Romeo Dobs. Now, Romeo Dobs came out here on Sunday Night Football and put on a show, ladies and gentlemen. Uh, three touchdowns. Three touchdowns. And he was letting everybody know. He was like, "Hey, yeah, that was three. That was three touchdowns." Now, here's the problem with Romeo Dopps. I'm only willing to spend about five to 15% of my fab. You're not going to be able to play him this week. You're not. He's not going to be in your lineups this week. Why? Because he's officially on a buy. So, you're not going to have him in your lineups. However, in week six, he plays Cincinnati, then Arizona, then Pittsburgh, then Carolina. Those are some decent matchups where you could flex him. He looks like at the moment probably the favorite for Jordan Love, but that could have been matchup based. So again, be very cautious because you can't play him this week, but I'm willing to spend five to 15% of my fab and maybe you can get him cheaper if people in your leagues are are realizing, well, I can't play him anyway.
All right, at 3B, let's talk about Kenneth Gainwell. Now, the question for Kenneth Gainwell is, does his performance, you know, how well he played, does it impact this rotation at all moving forward? Has he earned a bigger role alongside Jaylen Warren? Because when Jaylen Warren was a surprise and active, nobody really saw that coming. Kenneth Gainwell dominated, right? He played 41 of 53 snaps. He had 25 total touches. And oh boy, did he convert on those touches. 31.4 fantasy points, almost 100 yards on the ground, two touchdowns, as well as 35 receiving yards, six catches. The dude was a monster. I mean, looking like a little Alvin Kamara out there. Now again, does this incredible performance versus a great defense mean that he's going to get more involved over the course of the next couple weeks? Maybe. That's why I think he's worth rostering because it's so hard to find running backs that are even worth flexing at this point. Now, again, same thing with Romeo Dobs. You have to keep in mind Kenneth Gainwell is going to be on a by-week. Now, how do I read this situation? I read it as Jaylen Warren will still be the guy after the by-week. So, this could be a little bit of fool's gold. So be cautious spending anywhere over 10% of your fab, but you know, you got to buy a ticket to ride the train, right? And not every train is going to take you to a destination you really want to be at.
At number five, let's talk about A.J. Brown. Now, he's heavily a rostered in Sleeper, but everywhere else is pretty widely available. I'm going to spend about 5 to 15% of my fab. I actually think A.J. Brown has a higher ceiling long-term than Kenneth Gainwell because of their two situations. What do I mean by that? Well, A.J. Brown might officially be the wide receiver one in Tennessee because in week four, if you look at receiver route rates, shout out to Jacob Gibbs, you'll notice that Calvin Ridley is fourth on this team at 41%. Now, did they pack it in maybe and they didn't want to risk Calvin Ridley? I don't know, but he wasn't out there. And it's not like Calvin Ridley's done anything impactful this entire year, but A.J. Brown every single week is out there, an important part of the offense. 79% of the snaps. 73, 74, 76, 65. Seven from a target perspective. Two touchdowns in four games, excuse me. The breakout is well and truly here. Uh he led the team in snaps, routes, run, targets. So don't sleep on A.J. Brown. He is a desperation flex that should be um given your consideration.

All right, at number six, I want to give you more like some stashable running backs. I wouldn't go too hard from a fab perspective with these guys. One to five percent of your fab depending on how desperate you are at the position. And we're going to start off with Kendre Miller. Now, Kendre looks great. And really, the reason I'm interested in Kendre Miller is not because I think he can beat out Alvin Kamara for this job, but more if Kamara is traded because this team is bad. They're 0 and 4. This team has not won a game this year. And if this team is looking to move on to the future, Kamara could be a trade piece that they look to move on from. Now, I know there's some issues with like the no trade clause and all that, but still, if you're Alvin Kamara, you're not going to wave that to go to a new team. So, Kendre Miller is one of these names that should be stashed because there is a possibility that Kamara could be moved on from and then you have a starting running back in Kendre Miller. Now, shout out to Joel Smith over on Twitter. He notes that top three running backs in yards after contact per attempt in week four, Kendre Miller is third on that list. A shout out to Jacob Gibbs who noticed that snap rate increased every game so far for Kendre Miller. We noticed that here on Sleeper as well from 15 up to 27 in week three. Then you can see here in week number four he had 21 of 67 snaps. Um he was uh on the field for five out of seven red zone plays and scored a touchdown. A lot of that had to do with the fact that he was on a heater. I don't know if that's really going to carry over from one game to the next, but we should absolutely respect him.
Uh let's talk Tyler Allgeier real quickly. Premium handcuff. That's why you're stashing Tyler Allgeier. Okay, Tyler Allgeier is not a guy that you can start week in week out. Now, yes, he was a fine start this week. 11 fantasy points, got into the end zone, but that's not going to happen most weeks, but again, a premier handcuff in the NFL. Justice Hill, I'm going to be honest with you, I think a lot of people are going to go too hard on Justice Hill this week. Derrick Henry is not losing his job. Let's make that incredibly clear. Yes, Justice Hill was the snap leader for this team amongst the running backs. He was a route targets leader now amongst running backs. But you have to keep in mind that's all because of game script. There wasn't a single moment where the Ravens were in control of that game. We saw that all last year and that continued this year. So don't get crazy.
Bishard Parrish is just a stash at this point. It's kind of betting against Kareem Hunt and Isaiah Pacheco to be good players season long. Uh and then Xavier Scott is for deep deep leagues. Uh he had seven targets on Sunday in Dublin and showed that he can make an impact as a receiver out of the backfield.
All right. How about wide receivers that I'm looking to stash? Well, we're going to start off with Darius Slayton. He is the most obvious beneficiary of Neighbors' injury for fantasy football. Now, if you think about it here on Sunday, Darius Slayton had 66 snaps, second to Wandale, second to Wandale's routes run, as well as targets. Four targets out of just 20 passing attempts. So, in situations where the Giants are going to need to throw the ball more, we could see Darius Slayton have a serious role in this offense, especially if they're going to allow Jackson Dart to air it out downfield. So, he's more of a stash that you could play in a desperate spot.
Uh, Luke McCaffrey. Now, it's the Luke McCaffrey situation is weird. I'm not going to lie to you. He only played 21 snaps. He's only really playing in the slot. He only had three targets. But, I mean, if you look at Luke McCaffrey in the last couple weeks, he has started to really show some value, right? Three targets in back-to-back weeks. 56 yards in week three, 21 yards in week four, touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. Could there be a role that's developing for Luke McCaffrey, especially with an injury to Terry McLaurin? Could there be value? He's a stash more than anything.
Uh, speaking of stashes, how about Isaiah Bond, who got six targets this week. His target numbers keep going up each and every week from one to three to four to six targets. I mean, if that trend continues, we could be in for a serious role here for Isaiah Bond. Don't forget Cedric Tillman. led this game with a hamstring injury. He's probably going to miss some time. But encouraging signs for Isaiah Bond who was second in snaps, second in routes run, second in targets, you know, right behind Jerry Judy. It didn't turn into a huge fantasy day, but man, Isaiah Bond is a talented wide receiver out of Texas. He didn't, you know, get drafted because of some legal off-field issues, but he is an uber talented guy. If he ever puts it together, he could be a sleeping giant in fantasy football.
Okay, let's talk about Demarcus Robinson here. Now, unfortunately, Demarcus Robinson, you know, didn't have a huge game. He only played 25 snaps, but Ricky Pearsall is dealing with an injury. Uh, Kendrick Bourne is dealing with an injury. So, there's a scenario here where Demarcus Robinson in the future could become a serious flexible name. Jeff Mueller on Ricky Pearsall where he talked about his injury said it's a right PCL sprain with risk of costing him playing time. So, it's something that we definitely need to take seriously.
Okay, let's look at some tight end adds. Starting off with Harold Fannin Jr. Now, here's the sell on Harold Fannin. It's more of a stash than a play right now. But if this team is, you know, going to keep losing games, could they look to sell David Njoku? Could they look to trade him to another team because they are more than satisfied with a Harold Fannin Jr.? You can see here in week number four, we saw a huge change. Typically, you were seeing David Njoku play uh the vast majority of snaps more than Harold Fannin, but this week we saw a little bit of a change. Fannin beat Njoku in snaps, routes, run, targets, had seven total opportunities, had a lot of uh plays where he caught something and then it was called back due to a flag, but he's a name that should definitely be monitored in every serious fantasy football league.
How about Brenton Strange? I'm not going to sell you on anything other than a safe floor in fantasy football for a tight end. A lot of you are dreaming of that. You're dreaming of a tight end that can get you 10 points. Well, that's what Brenton Strange has done in the last two weeks. He had 9.9 points in week number one. So, he scored nine and a half or more points in three of the first four weeks of the season. And then a deeper stash is Tucker McCann, who by the way, Tucker McCann here in week number four did lead tight ends in snaps with 30. He only ran 22 routes, so about half the routes, but was still targeted three times. I think this is a player that they're going to slow roll into the offense and you should definitely be monitoring him.
Okay, Jackson Dart, despite losing Malik Neighbors, showed a lot of promise specifically as a rusher on the ground. They used him a ton in the RPO. He had almost 20 fantasy points. Um, you know, not a lot of passing attempts, but they were up in the game, but a, you know, no turnovers, a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown. He showed plenty of upside.
Okay, let's move on to the defensive streamers for week number five. We've got the Lions at the Bengals, the Cardinals versus the Titans, the Bills versus the Patriots, and the Colts versus the Raiders. Those are all names that I would love to go out there and grab in week five uh and see what they can do for my fantasy football team.
