Google just leaked something huge. A new Gemini video model called Omni was spotted inside the create videos tab. Here is the exact text that leaked.
"Start with an idea or try a template. Powered by Omni." That line appeared in Gemini's video creation UI. Spotted by Thomas on X, verified by Testing Catalog.
Today the same tab runs on a tool internally called Toucan. And Toucan is powered by Veo 3.1, Google's current top video model. So, what does Omni actually mean? There are three honest possibilities. None confirmed by Google.
First, a simple rebrand. Same Veo tech, new product name. Second, a brand new Gemini trained video model living alongside Veo for API users. Third, the big one, a true unified Omni model generating image, video, and audio in one system. Testing Catalog called this highly speculative. Until Google confirms it, treat all three as guesses.
