The relationship between Usul al-Fiqh and Aqeedah - Shaykh Abdullah al-‘Ujayri

Ibn al-Layth2:21

Transcription

It is good to remind and warn about Usul al-Fiqh and its relation to Aqida. The reality of Usul al-Fiqh is that some students of knowledge are misled by the compound term "Usul al-Fiqh," imagining it only deals with the meanings of religious texts within the fiqh field. This understanding is incorrect. Usul al-Fiqh is a science that establishes the methodologies of deduction among Muslims. How do we understand religious texts? What are the sources of religious evidence? There is indeed expansion in mentioning what includes fiqh matters, considering that the sources of evidence related to them and the apparatus of deduction may be more general than what relates to the creedal field. However, all the important deductive methodologies related to creedal discussions are present in Usul al-Fiqh. They are present in Usul al-Fiqh. Anyone who reads in Usul al-Fiqh understands the great overlap between creedal and fiqh sciences. In fact, some scholars, for example, Taj al-Din al-Subki, in his "Jam' al-Jawami'," at the beginning of the book, mentions the reason for writing this book—a book that includes the principles of evidence and deduction in the principles of religion and in fiqh. He states principles of religion. Indeed, the conclusion of his book, "Jam' al-Jawami'," includes a creedal summary, a creedal summary. It is important not to disconnect the Usul writing from the creedal writing and imagine that there are principles of deduction in creedal research completely unlike those related to Usul al-Fiqh. The issue is that one should consider breadth and narrowness in the nature of actions. However, the principle of actions is actions related to both fields. Any reader of Usul understands the entry of many issues and their influences, and some examples related to the creedal matter. Indeed, what we mentioned about the issue of the clear and ambiguous and the research related to the discussion of delegation—it contains a great deal of debate related to it from its major premises and resources, which is Usul writing. Indeed, it may be more present than in books related to the science of Tafsir, the interpretation of the Qur'anic verse and Kalam, as it is said in this broad matter.
