We thought we will do today is take a look at the differences between doing the type of profile for children and a lesson. Sir, we have been looking up to the spawn. Do as I told you, the profile very lends itself to any age group. You just have to make the necessary modifications. But you are not reasonably well-versed on this, you may have a little difficulty. You are beginning this to really describe. Decide what are the modifications that you have today. So I'm going to give you some examples of it, so you see what kind of differences there are between children and adults.

And one of the important points, one of the most important points, this isn't alone, is the one I'm going to greet to you today. Not really, but to go through it. It isn't the psychoanalytic history of the child, volume 2003, means by Tall. So it's 35 years old, but just reckon it is as good today as it was the day it was written. It's remarkable how updated they have remained. But the whole paper is on the adult profile. It's called "The Psychological Assessment of Adult Personality." The other one was "Diagnostic on Wall Street Rate of Children and Adolescents," that you know.

So this one is in Buchanan. Has a good, very good clinical example of the patient that was a patient of mine many years ago in London. And it was not there was a, we used to have a meeting every week or something called the process. Very fun. The provision telephone was a charitable organization. Tonight money was enough like a non-profit, only that what it had an international resko. And it did promote, in a way, we're trying to. The difference was that he did something like he took the peasant senior analyst in London, so the British Qualitative Society, and particularly from the Hamsa Clinic. People took turns in presenting cases to an afro. Your way, offer somebody like that, a very, very distinguished, experienced person. You have to remember, but I mean, 130 is hot, I guess. And that was an incredible opportunity for the development of the younger generation of an erisa device syndrome or, you know, identical to what we are trying to do here. And so this case was presented to the person veneration for many, many, many weeks. He was like having, like you discuss the case. We see, that's the way it was done over there.

So there is an example in this paper. If you created, I think the volume is upstairs, of a man in his forties, married with children. In fact, you remember that I told you about simultaneous analysis at the clinic, and a father came into treatment at the recommendation of the therapies of the child. The doctor who was in analysis and thought that it would be wise to have this man in treatment. And so the person generally for them, robot this activity, and I became dissonance. And so it was kind of a single time, very interesting. In any case, this profile, this, and perhaps this is a better way of describing they've met a psychological assessment of the personality, whether it isn't all the chatter on our lesson. Because you remember what we talked about this, we said this is a way of thinking. This is not a form to fill in information. In sat phone, that is built in such a way to teach you, as to teach you to think, how to organize our material, what you need to look at, how you need to make it more and more complex. We have the fabula now, many time that I won the hat should be well settled in your heads. Because if you just really know where you're wasting your time, this is no water. In any case, it became so viable, make such a difference in terms of the assessment of people. Didn't come out of the blue. It came out of the fact that they, London, we had the type of diagnostic interviews of people has anywhere else. Group of people will say that social worker in the history societies give his part of the examination. And you know, and the people has a discussion about it, obviously. Because we took a lot of these people into psychotherapy, an analytic treatment, my to say psychotherapy, analytic term, unless essentially, whether clearly, then we found that that was very efficient. As we got to know the patient, that in fact, we have missed and in terms of important things. And that in fact, many aspects of the personality of the patient that it would have been wise to take a good look at before you took these people into treatment was being ignored. And let me tell you that they have second in class. When I think probably still is, in those days, what's probably the best place you could call for the news is activity anywhere in the world. And yet, we all felt that the usual procedures don't help. The usual diagnostic go see. And the reason for that is, is very simple. Usually there might be in the meeting, two or three, what we used to call strong characters or big masses, which means they control the group. They don't necessarily know what they are saying, but they control the group. And that was a problem, though obviously in a meeting of the didn't distinguish people that could be put in the prices reasonably well and rest on abrasive. But you'd be surprised that doesn't mean to say the next time they wouldn't do the same. The problem is that was essentially than a meeting lasts an hour and a half. And if they consume, you have no problem. And they consume them fifty minutes, they were cattle use it of time to have an intelligent discussion on the patient. And that was mostly where the problem of the damaged cells people rather may do.

The other thing was that in every group, all of us have kind of holy horses. In other words, we have developed certain preference in the way we look at things, in the wagon to spend things. And there is nothing to correct that in your head. That's whichever way you look too bad. That's what you think. And that's what you will throw. How that everyone. In fact, I have to tell you, the other day, we were looking at France. It gave me some of the general opinion because they have some discussions of profile there. We saw maybe we can use that data better on data from here, because the patients are here and so on. And and I was looking at this discussion. This is at least four periods of traffic in it. And some of the same factors. What happened? They were sinus same things which letter might go as far as I was concerned. Which goes to show that some of us may be changed. We expanded that. But you could see that that tendency. I know you see, you know. So you need, in a good way, that if you're going to have a group like that, you had need somebody to run it. That is impartial. That is objective. That will give a chance to everybody. But will cut short the chance. And that's not easy to find. Because people character tend to be don't make waves, you know. And in any case, there were a lot of things. The other thing, because we have public horses, as we were saying. And that's why I mentioned the discussion afterwards that they were happy have been publishing about the profiles in in London. The people that I knew had certain hobby horses where they're still residing there, obviously. This, I have to say, well, perhaps not they, this were visitors, the clinic, all we have visitors, a treat. And well, so you have to leave with them, all tell the group that the tour don't come back. Remember, we have a deal. After I left, no, I have to tell you, when I was there, I was very tempted to just. In any case, when people have hobbyhorses, all the cases go to the hobby horse. And if they happen to be learn to the group of their powerful big Mouse's, the whole damn discussion goes in there. Because in the early more reasonable people, is disgusting against a fixed review. And the patient assessment got lost in that procedure. You discover a meeting and how, and I wanna have the thing is gone. And most of what is essential to the patient, what's loss.

Now, we do not, we know that happen in all places. Because we all serve in many places. Clearly, that are being instituted clinically. Paintings were around longer than soon. And so one of Miss Fergus' idea, who was a present that originally conceived the profiles essence, was to create an instrument that will break away from that kind of tradition diagnostic discussions. And to do it in the way that really well-trained and analyst at our system and mature do it. And think how they build the case. And look at the whole case rather than an aspect of the case. But take, like, like a bird's eye view of the hands, where you see everything, every trees, will be houses. And sometimes say, all that is the palm tree there. I like fact resets it, cuz the palm trees. And she came with the basic structure of it. This particular one may be of interest to you. They met a psychological assessment of the adult personality profile. Was written by an authority, by me, and by Edna Scott, which is still alive. In any case, because that new approach proved to be so profitable and essential, did a number of things. It stopped the biases of the faculty discussion. Because it forced you to look at every aspect of the personality. Go away, which you have it offers hiding in an hour. You had to go there with that barest view of the patient. And that includes not only the conflicts of the patient or the assets of the patient. And not only the head aspects of the patient, but the ego aspects of the patient. And the quality of their object relationships. And all that. So it could convey to us that there was a much helpful way of presenting a case, discussing it, understanding that work. We have been doing traditional, like anywhere else. So it took off like a rocket, really. It did something else, which was in a way, inspected. And that was read the students very quickly progress in their ability to organize clinical break time to theoretical concepts. They could reference wait, what they saw it. That not only great translated, you need to eat. You want to read. Lastly, you have to speak the thing. Which what you see, which is a clinical language. And then you want to reconcile it into theoretical proposition. You have to have that knowledge too. And move comfortable between them. Well, that's exactly what the profile level. And I think I told you that many years later, I used to come to the states. When I was there longer, once a year, to lecture different universities. And he, everybody always asked me the same question. How come that all of you people are come from London asking for you here, taste once, and you can put it in a theoretical frame here? It takes a lot of time. Can be Luther has a well, we were trying that way. We were trying to think like enemies. And the instrument that does it is the profile. If you do this consistently, you become very confident. And you know, remember, we're assessing it. It is a meta psychological assessment. You are looking not only at all aspects. To this day, I don't know of anything better conduction. Really, that's the truth.

Well, in any case, as I told you, it took off like a rocket. And then profiles were written for Bailey's NFL, which is one of the authors of this paper. From the table profile, another lesson profit was written by a very distinguished psychoanalyst, London. In fact, it was a Canadian body came to do something. And they will move out of England. My name of Moses, lover, lover, brand, the brain center. I think they changed the name later. But when I was at home, what's called the brain center, which again was an institution like this one, whose organization would say, larger people involved on it, including me. That what it did was to create a whole essence. That's what we did. And he was finance, some kinda section. So here, all they never listened profile. Then there was, so you let you see the history of it. And the value of it. Man by the name of Thomas Freeman is still around. He's Scottish. And he wrote profiles for the psychotic personality. Well, this type of mega psychological obsession, of this kind of meta psychological assessment of psychotic people. And that's what he did. He's very distinguished channels, is very over now, but he's still very active. And he devoted his life to looking at psychotic disorders. And so he wrote one. So what you see, they have profiles for nearly every activity. In any case, for all of these prophets, except this dull profile, if you remember, the important issue, and central issue, none of them was developmental consideration. You were looking at something that was developing. What different is they from the A year from now, and independent of depended on what age the child was at the point that you saw her go to. He saw her him, depending how long was output. And this range around which you are expected to become an adult. If we gave it, you had a very long process of development. And you could not take out your eyes of that horse. And is constantly moving from one place to the next. We got revealing our faces or Elena phallic in the poor latency or lessen the various of phases of algorithms. Also all from the ego that is developing. And acquiring more power, more cognitive ability. And developing more of an infinite different aesthetic function. And so he is different. All of that is done. It is not that we don't develop anymore. When you will become a dog, we don't develop an important. The way children develop in order to become adults. That's the dog. Once you get to the end of that, you know, process, that's it. Whatever you're accomplished is what you have become. And that would be the suppression of genes, environmental experiences, all kind of vicissitudes I have an influence in development. So if you were assessing people in that age group, whatever you saw, you have to assess against is that what you are to be given his age? So if you saw a love affair latency challenge, one thing to ask you to resolve is accomplished. And how or did he not solve it in a successful manner? And is now symptomatic and gathering data over in his development. I think so. That you were always thinking developmentally. Once you went to the doctor, that's gone. He should have arrived to certain death patients. And if you didn't, then what you do is compare that expression, which is the highest station that can be reached in human emotional development and maturity, with wherever it was that he remain behind. And can you have to do what they do now at the airport, some in the luggage that he comes with it, to see what it is a he brought. He's making the [ __ ] 1200 has already taken that flight. So that's a significant difference. The assessment, the meta psychological assessment for all ages, was made on the basis of development of considerations. So that means of the individual is examined for his position, the progressive sequences relevant to try the role of an ego development, the ego development population. [Laughter] Okay, so authorities evaluated as its a seeing this paper in all instances, according to this interference with quarterly and steady progress in this development of respects. That's what we have been talking about. And we try to give you a little mini course of psychoanalytic theory. So that you know what is where of the relationship looks like. And so on. So it's obviously it contains short course. But it is enough to give you know whether all the.

Okay, now this basic rationale for the boss changes dramatically with the application of the profiler schema to the adult personality. In this instant, assessment is concerned not with an ongoing process, but with a finished product. In which, by implication, the ultimate in every case of everyone. And so you are going to measure what is he bringing, his leverage to help on that, or what is it that he didn't accomplish. So what do you see from the path that shouldn't be there anymore? Because is now an adult. And things all the time. But you are measuring him against the end of the hood, which is where they, you know, they're running it. It's like the runaway of the airport. So the developmental point of view may be of heavenly so far. Success or failure to reach this level, to maintain determines the so-called maturity or immaturity of the door personality. That will tell you the field rich and adequate and appropriate degree of a dog maturity, both be emotional ability, any variety of other ways. Or if he had not. And if he has no, that's what you excessive as well. What is it that is missing? You do that because that gives you an idea of several things again, which are essential when you take somebody treatment. What is his prognosis? What is it that is missing? And can there be repair? Is it repairable or not? And what is his likenesses? And what kind of form of treatment are you going to choose? Even what you see that he didn't bring up to our good eye, which is the form taking that better will suit somebody in that situation. For the rest, with that we say here, no malady is judged by the quality of functioning. Listen to this. In an adult, normality is judged by the quality of functioning in sex work. And we saw, we measure the pressure in life derived from it. And by the quality of the individual object and community relationship. That's how you measure the maturity and emotional health of an adult. Assaultive reveal itself to permanent symptomatology which interferes with any of the above aims, by suffering for internal causes, by the individual's incapacity to relay realistic up to this environment, the objects in the parameter of both. So thus should highlight for you the difference. There are many similarities. I'm going to become some of the difference to underline that for you to help you think that way. You aren't using this for different ages. You have to adapt your mind to that stage of development. It is a channel eraser. So we're not allowed to be now. In order to be able to do that, you have to know enough about development. And at least we have given you a little bit of it. God bless. You have to come back getting more training or by doing your own personal training. You won't get you that far. Because it's a lot more difficult to learn. I want someone to have teachers. Yeah, but that's, that's it.

Now, let me then move forward a little bit. We're active six o'clock. With let's see who I want from you. Anybody talked to you about this? The profile is a way of thinking. It is not just to kill the sections. Now we are going to move the first four sections, which is a scripture of the child, the reason for the referral, you know, a significant environmental includes all of these perceptions. We said, remember, were distinctive sections. You simply took what they told you. You were not organizing that data. You were correct in later than you will organize according to this five-day phenomena and a psychological principle. So these are the same. When you get to the assessment of development, the first one, which is section five, profile, you have this. It drive developer in the lighter. When you look at both the people and the aggressive driver. I reduce the difference in both these profiles. The authority says, describe the pressingly with in a position of the patient. He gains the idea normal position that he should have reached. Ideal for women, a passive feminine position. I tell you what that means. Before you're very friendly. And for men, an active masculine one. With no more than a normal mixture in terms of bisexuality at the time of a session. It is important to determine if the highest level has ever been reached. If it is being maintained, or if you have been a random regressively for an area. One dull position has no. Which it is important to assess the quality and quantity of the interferences are contributed that were contributed by the previous phases. And that may be impossible to wage their probe out. Now, passive feminine and active masculine means the following. In this context, it doesn't mean that women have to be passive in the job. So in the daily activities. So that they cannot give an aggressive or cut somebody's throat. There's always to do. They can do all of that. That know what facility means. Facility here means during the sexual interaction. They should be willing to receive a man in their vagina. In other words, that you'll be willing to receive it. In a Swiss culture. And in government as a component, you know, it's an elemental complement. And that's what it means. Now, within that, you can be as active as you like. And you know, do whatever she wants in the sexual relationship to her on it. But that is an essential component of maturity. Why? Because without that, the species cannot survive. So it's very wise in terms of adaptation for that to take place. Because only women can conceive and procreate me and Allah. So what is the counterpart of that? Well, men have to have what is called an active masculine position. Those are means that they are always aggressive, an active opposition. No, it only means that we, the sexual fact, that should have richest age, were the utmost pleasure and the utmost communion between them. Essentially devotion, right? And that's what active mask you mean. It is, is see in terms of a lactation within de. He can do whatever he likes to. But that he must be able to do otherwise. The same way happen. He can know them. You're penetrating a woman and having whatever it takes to do that. The speech is food, right? And so that's what it means. It doesn't mean anything else. It doesn't mean that women ambassador, they should be aggressive. That they could get into business and cut my throat with the business. It doesn't mean any other. It only means the sexual position is a passive receptive position for females. Is an active giving penetrating position to males. Anything short of value is true, always, in any case. So that's the difference. You don't look for that in children. In your face today, ineffaceable valley chemical face, which is preparing you for all of these. But he hasn't taken you there yet, you know.

Now you look as well as any video distribution. And that means I can take this off yourself. How much is in the self? How much goes to the object? And income taxes of the self do with these things are the same. Whether the self is affected will do very children. And whether there is sufficient narcissism, primary and secondary, invested in the body. They or the super-ego. Two should regard for the self, self-esteem, a sense of well-being, without leading to an overestimation of the self. Follow that. Is to children in different degrees, according to this. Now, the possible loss consider the regulation of narcissism. Note whether this is brought about through identification of dependence, magical means, work, and so on. You need out some information in relation to the cathexis of the self. Can be obtained in areas such as patient's personal appearance, how represent himself, dressing, personal care. Children don't care about life. Now, what you see is not so much the result of the child attitude to be self. But it may be motherly. Some of the parents wear a jacket, the charity to the child in terms of dressing and things of that time. Without they are responsible now for their own bodies and their own appearances. As you look at that, even if romantic, obviously. So you have examined that very, very closely. So as I told you, you can get some information about life by looking at the patient's personal appearance. His closest. While the child's appearance in this respect reflects the adults attitude towards it.

Now, it affects us of objects. There are some difference, significant differences that you will see between the child and well, anyone in the process of developing adult. Children need objects to develop and to protect them and to guide them and to identify with them and to promote growth. And to help them control their instincts and to help them get organized the egos. To help them get elected to their societies and their environment. And to abide by the rules or and typical for that culture, the family of the country or that religion, whatever it is. And don'ts should have left all of that behind. So we are not looking for that. We are looking for where is he now? What did we bring ya to the counter at the airport? What is a low vision looks like? As in previous sections, before make a success of object evaluation. Should I start on the highest level in an adult? I.e. at the level where the objects are considered and treated as Spanish their own right. Children don't necessarily food. I know you may not always know that necessary. Because they still can become children made obsolete between being children and those very bright. And so you see both Tennessee take care of me and go away within a span of ten minutes. Well, privilege now. So you will take the follow. And this is totally different from the children. Whether the individual and in question has been able to choose his or a sexual planet. And how far's object needs at men are made by that party. Look for that in children. Whether the attitude necessary for motherhood and fatherhood has been achieved. And on what level. Now, don't misunderstand me. Not everybody has to get married or not everybody has to have children and become a father. I know it does not so. But it is different. You've got is a freewheel decision that you have reached forever. That picture. Then if that is important, you buy the luggage at Macallan. That's different. One is free will program. Is known. The other one is over determined by all the countries that are in fact interfering with what perhaps is what you want. But can do it. You see the difference. So it doesn't necessarily mean that everybody has to be thinking, I want to be a mother. I want to be a father. Not necessarily. Not even I want to be married. But there are many people that decide not to do that. You know, religious people, for example, make boats off Savita see. Those you see the percentage. There always be a percentage of people wherever they are. They're going to misbehave. Whether it is the police or a psychologist or psychiatrist. So really optional. Unfortunately, in that case, of course, that has particularly detrimental elements to it. And we scholarship LMS. We but some people decide, I said, I want to do that. I want to go into a monastery. Or I want to be fun. Or I want to be a missionary in Africa. Last hour, whatever it is. What kind of choices of people can make? If they are made freely, that's okay. They are made because that's beyond choice with technology. And the other thing that you choices that simply the doors are closed to you. What you can always think. That's a problem. And that's what they're looking for. What part, whether how far the infantile oedipal relationship have been outgrown or still dominance of issues. As very important. You remember when we talked about the political face? We were saying that that is a central organization. You know, what comes out all that will determine the future century. Everybody. If you have rich sauce, you did it. It was complex in a satisfactory manner. Then you are ready to move to a community of peers. So still, you remember we were talking of a small child. That is a mother says, I'm going to the grocery boy with you. I could just hang with Peter. Once his five, six, seven. The mother says, the same. Several, you go. I go riding with the bicycle with speak. You see, he moved away from the mall. The attachment had become neutralizes. No essential to the survival. Which dependency is now somehow diminish. So that he can give way more and more from handsome. The same is true in our lesson. Where he will both OS to the community of peers. Pursue it's a completely different happy to. In latency, as we told you, children still live by the norms of the family. In relations, a frequently spoke with members of the family. Our window and take the norms of the group. So it's a completely different moving away from home. And so no way, very romantic way to survey that. We mentor to them. I'm very anxiety-provoking for the families. So you are looking at all of these things, obviously, in order to treat you sexual objects, women to a sexual partner. And it's a sexual object on its own right. With no characteristics brought from your mother or your father or spectators wrong. This is solid. It is a partner in life. Not only a sexual partner, but a family life. And that means that you don't expect meant to be a mother, but to be a father. Sometimes to be hardened. There are other times to be important or a sister. You know, they have to be husband, some wife. If you have not resolved, you reduce conflict sub-tropical. If you're good, that's a lavash. Then you will be happy. When you open the bag in the airport, which is the end of the velopment, you will see on a lot of things. Yeah, and I'm going to interfere with his ability to relate to an object in an apology, emotionally mature, significant manual value for both of them. Obviously, the chocolate he achieves all of that. The more taller they are going to win the marriage. And possibly catastrophic control. Now, so you want to know whether he had really mastered is in fact a lilypad relationship. And whether that skills dominate the picture. Another, what you are looking for, the husband is really fun. I have expectations for having a quiet father. No, that it becomes any kind of quasi incestuous relationship. Tell me what part is play. This is the other thing you look at by other human relationships, such as friendships, alliances to groups or their avoidance, working relationships, and so on. That's what adults do. That's what you look at. What is the quality of the relationship in the activities that at all have to engage with? Eva watch. And that's all the human beings. How do they treat them like these people on their own right? Do you respect the rights? What do you think they are there for you to pick pain in the butts to use them and abuse them and things? So that you may not be thinking of this rationale, you know, logically or consciously. You may not be saying, I want to kick them in the butt. That's not what we are saying. What we are saying, if you look at how they treat these zombies. And whether they may not come mean consciously to do that. You look at the behavior. And if they are doing that, you say they are treating objects in a way that is not at all looking for a partner or looking for a friend or treating pretty or related to co-workers. Now, above all, what part is spraying? The one hand by heterosexual object FX's. And on the other hand, by homosexual project of X's. Together, this can create also when it is conflict work. And I don't want to enter in a discussion of whether these two lines of the peloton document. But obviously, in the typical society, certain things are going to create problems of a certain type. And that's why people talk about getting out of the process. Which means we're Impressionism, right? If don't necessarily because that's bad yourself, though, because your society does not remove it. Whatever it may be, it creates conflicts between you and the social group. Whether too much legal is withdrawn from the real object world and sexual satisfaction thought the masturbation accompanied by usually object directed fantasies. Indeed, there are people who were they are married, they enjoy maximization and sexual intercourse with the sexual partners or have a very active sexualized. The obviously has no place in an adult Matthew emotional human relationship. They two enjoy each other. Yeah, that you will know that is not the case. And so much my patients that are perhaps para dignities problem. Now, clearly, that done because of conflicts. Till they are caring managed to doesn't allow for whatever reason cities to really feel comfortable and secure in having sexual relationship with an object that must be treated. No, it was wrong. But with respect and admiration and love. Yeah. And as some of these people can do learn different ways for different reasons. So you are looking at all of that. That's what tells you were at all this mature is healthy. It's emotional ready to face life. And to join somebody in a partnership. Now, the other point you look at is whether than how deeply the individual is attached to objects. We serve a substitutes for for a station of ties. We saw the human being such as Panama's property, money, and things like that. There are people that has a distinct preference for human beings. In extreme cases, doesn't mean to say that you can have happy. Not something I'm sure that it already means. It means a substitution. As a wonderful big oval, the heritage of revels. This animals, property, money, whatever it may be, you know, pieces of art. Different people have different things. Become a substitute for a little map to relationship to a memory. That obviously is not really very good. Means that there is a lot of trouble running well. It is already crossing these people in. Is not allowed in vain to fulfill the dreams and the capacity that they have as human beings. Because they can exercise and they are restricted to relate to animals. So that as you see, he thinks that you don't look for in children as closely. Because they haven't reached the Acme was available. And in adults, though, yeah, it is because if any of these things is in between them and the end of that run, then they have a promise personality to a specific light situations remain. That's a noble of feelings here. Yet, when you get to the reaction of a vocal personality to a specific life situations.

[Music]

All right, so when you look here, it is not different. You are looking at things. And I'm gonna copy for a Galt. But of all people that will change. For example, the patients are treated to be sex life. For that matter, the sex life of other people. His successful failure at work, or in work. Attitude to social and community responsibilities. Killing them have to many of those who they have something. But a doctor, they had to fit into their communities. They have social responsibilities. We all do. If we belonging to a civilized organized society. As indeed we do. This is turf from disturbed capacity for enjoyment, companionship, social relationships, and they ordinary pleasures of life. His will merrily an ability or failure to withstand disappointment, losses, misfortunes, fateful events, environmental changes of all kinds, and so on. So they're doing the same. But it's ever looked in a mentally do after school, the birth of a sibling. You look at things that are typical for adults. And adults have to engage in. And you see how successful they are. You done. Then you are to the next session or section, which is by now. We are in the assessment of Accession function regression. And this, you know, you are searching exactly the same way that you deal with children. Only the word you expect to find is it. If you were to be normal, I have you know, traversing a successful plan. But in reality, most human beings haven't gone that. They have done well enough to behave normally and to be normal. But if you look close, yeah, are they significant in terms of their ability to function when you plan to your life? And and consequently, these timelike variations of normality. You say, yeah, there's a little thing there. But it doesn't seem to interfere too much. So you don't become in a space with the same. As long as they are doing all of this, father, you know, criteria, or this other criteria that we mention, is being done reasonably well, then you are happy. So obviously, you look at the individual type of object relationship. The type of trying activity that is involved in that. And how that manifests. Will they even very well interest one day? You know, correct who people they prefer. Everything. So okay. Now, as you know, one way we look at that. And the exceptions of regression is by looking at what it is that they do. But they leave with the results. If you have exceptional certain point, you're able interest tend to be focus on certain areas or a certain activity. So there may be value. So limited. But they are still be appointed to that direction. Now, in an adult, then this are all the factors that you pay some attention to. Will do their common. And they are very telling in terms of the fixation point. Generally speaking, they are not as observable or as important for children. Because they don't think this way. But for example, in realistic concern for health, notice what it says. Unrealistic concern for our safety. Don't know that your partner's, your children's safety of the married marital partner, children, parents, or siblings. Shows special difficulty of copying with you - wishes. In an adult, fear of medicine, food, facts, and so on. Point to defense against or are fantasies. Chinese to defenses against exhibitionism. Now, all that is true children. But it may not be as miscible. And it may be more legitimate. Because after all, a young child, the mother's was actually three or four. He doesn't understand where the mother. Where was she going to come along? You know, so he's society about where she is going to come. Is she dead? In terms of anything. But recognizes. You know, they don't understand their deaths. That you and I do. But in whichever way. So obviously, something bad mother is on day. Well, obviously an adult has grown out of all of that. But still, he may have all of these unrealistic concerns. And so they become very significant, you know. So you pay a special attention to to that particular set of behaves.

Now, when you get to the section of an assessment of countries. There are no many differences. Yeah, most of them. Do you examine the same thing? If you whether they are saying our conflicts, whether the conflicts are internalized, or what is an issue, what did they are quality of things. And our conscience that will influence tremendously how they thought looks and behaves. Somewhat is capable of or not. There is one difference. And this is it. Is a follower which technol conflicts. And normally children are part of normal development for many many years. Stenger conflicts are not normal in adults. In other words, in the adult dinette clashes between eat and external demands occur only where he wants to particularly relevant and effective. Otherwise, by then he would have good all of that in space. He knows what can be done with the narration. And what can all the workmen be wrong. Which is sexual impulses. And one cannot be. So you don't expect Mr. Pendick conflicts in a note. They don't have that right. To eat children who they are born with the instance. They are not born with any controls over a since or any educational to what is good or bad. What can be no, no, no. But uh, adora had gone through a long process that should have told him all of Adam by means of interjecting to receive on his super evil. The adequate responses. He should be able to manage all the distance within reason. So conflicts between the total personality. And then finally, like a refusal to adapt to the environment, creative attends to modify the environment. Can occur at any stage up to Alice's Jenny. No Jenny. But you have to pay attention to them. But essentially, you know, they are no stranger country. When you see its technical flexing a lot, you have to conclude two things. Either the process of internalization rejection that goals to bring the superhero structure creates a very various. Anyway, we have some failures for whatever reason. Maybe they have a like object for identification. Or in fact, have the wrong object identification. Which offered the front kind of behavior to identify with and exercises later on as a dog. Oh, that means a fault in the structure of the personality. In fact, evening support in the structure of the speaker. And the super-ego. And that's not easily remedial. If we never call it rejected, that is every allied. You know, it's like they acted. I forget into could I in the roof. I mean, that roof is not reliable, you know. The other case is when they are using externalization. And he local. Then it looks at times that the conflict is with a thinner world. Another internalized one. But usually, you can smell that. And you know, because the rest of the personality doesn't ally with that. You know, he has a good superhero. He has a conscience. EU behavior in a reasonable fashion. So we have selected something very specific to. Okay. In the internalized countries, it is the same. But this is what we underline in this particular paper. In the fully structured mature adult, the salmonids between instinct one wishes and is pregnant. The manners are mediated via ego and super-ego. An appeal has internalized context. As I say, he occasional such conflicts are sterilized. And appear in the guise of conflict with a battle with that is an external say. The internal conflicts have decide between a sufficiently future incompatible data presented. If such as on soap on the violence activity versus facility, must reversal family. All of these conflicts are led to some degree. But they should have been solved in a reasonable fashion. So that it means maybe going with performing the waiver that were described in any opposing object relationship at work, sexual activities, in laboratory services, in relation obviously. When when this has not through development again. When you open your luggage, may we say, oh, this kinda thing. It shouldn't be coming on this particular point in time.

Now, finally, we are going. And this is the long set of differences. Is the one of assessment of some general characteristics. And we are here with a very on the need for analytics therapy. On the beat, the ability to profit from it. Now, what we describe to children apply here to you. Remember what the word frustration tolerance, capacity to the capacity to thoroughly inside, the capacity to accept substitutes. And what we call progressive measures. The government is it. Is it in the group of progressive version that were aggressive developmental force? What is the balance of life? All of that was very useful in children. Because he tells you what resources they have to go. It's about them. Now, these people have screamish development. So if they have the resources, they would have done well. Assuming that, you know, lucky coffees, another time, or other type of problems didn't intervene. If they were not able to resolve some of the problems, all of the scars of these are going to draw into the personalities as lakhs and lakhs, you know, behaviors, information. So as regards many for internal change, the following points may be considered relevant. Whether the patient's eaten evil agencies have been separated off from each other to completely by excessive use of regression. When the better communication is to be established between them. In fact, when you're looking in such, there is so go call the level of mental focus. And maybe where the damage is. There was so much effect pressure that there is important work in collaboration between day one day. In very fact, there is an enormous difference in between the two of them. That may show after the sort of all these elemental processes not going as well as they could. And you need to pay attention to teasing an adult. Another part, whether they equals a sphere of influence have been restricting on do it by their defenses. And needs to be enlarged. So I told you, some defenses very good. And limit your evil abilities and capacity. Restrict you tremendously. And that's what you're looking at. If Sam, what happened to this fellow is that what happened? Then you know where to look. What tasks you have in front of you. Probably even the depends our users over every days. Where the conflict came from. You may have some idea of a component phase. And what components in. And all that. Whether people mastery over the impulses is weakened for other than defensive reasons. For example, it would affect a psychotic core, which is a genetic problem. And whether improvement will depend in the first instance of the strengthening effect that therapy doesn't deliver resources. That can sometimes be done. Sometimes you have hit bottom. You can go passages. Well, the super-ego structure is a take. And to analysis of resources needs to be replaced by a more mature one. We saw in children and our lessons, the process of the whether it wasn't coming to punitive or personal rebalancing. Even aims and goals and directions. And Ivy Everson. At the same time, setting limits and restricting behavior unhealthy to control you with pulses. Here you are looking at them talk. And you say them whether this structure that should be water balance for normal functioning is not. And make sure this characteristic. So being archaic or primitive. And if you look at the analysis of these sources, you may well think that initially replaced by more than anyone, more mature.

Now, whether you can do that, if you understand what the sources were, and whether this was a result of neurotic conflict, they can be changed. Okay. Okay. Whether they live in leaner, an aggressive image, or only live in your aggression, are bound up in contact at exit conflicts and sing conformational need to be released for constructive use. Again, you are looking at them problem. When did he get to with these things? And they saw four, we're still having this kind of problem. And that's what you have looking at that. You have to solve.

Now, gotta follow the following characteristics. Activision circumstances seem to also relevance to either positive or negative behavior. Now, you are assessing people for analytics. By extension, obviously, you can use it for psychotherapy. Can get a better idea of what it is. Bill, this is a meaner and idea. Usually in psychosis, I believe I'm much more protected in your goals. You are a lot more ambitious for you and professionally. Analysis, you know, frequently four or five times a week, and you will see him for over three years. And all of these assessments will give you a good idea how far can you go? How much can they accomplish? And so, and obviously, in the city, you think that they will move from here to be anything is not worth it. You know, it is not going to accomplish much. But if you think it's going to work from here to it, you say, yeah, that's a good investment of your time. It's a good investment of the precious time, effort, money. Here, so on the positive side, whether there is insight into the true mental measure of episode, including the decide to be pure with children. You don't ask for that. Children don't want to beat you. In fact, they frequently have no awareness of being able. The symptoms are may be a nuisance to environment, but not to them. They frequently enjoy your symptoms. That's not so. It's not so.

Whether there is insight into the tree mental nature of the pathology, including the desire to be Q, where there is ability for self-observation, self-criticism, and capacity to think and verbalize. The more people can look inside, be self-critical, and put up with it, and self-observe, the better off they are. If the top of that, they have the capacity to think and verbalize elegantly, that's a great asset. You know, obviously, if you can, if you refuse to look inside, and if you refuse to yourself criticism and second constructive criticism, you're in trouble because she's made if you to move you from where you are, you cross the door. Instead of whether there is ability, whether the patient has a sufficiently high level of object relationship and a sufficient quantity of free of the will to establish a meaningful, transparent relationship to the analyst, and whether this relationship will serve also as a treatment alliance and withstand all the ups and downs, the resistances. Analysis is not easy. Better process is wrong. It's painful, difficult, very rewarding. Change your life if it is successful, which mom reckon we are not. It is at least in significant ways and regards. It's not perfect. You know, they're not perfect. You might think they are not perfect, and I desire no perfect exercise, but it makes an enormous difference. So if you can do glass is, you have enough to collect errors and develop a transference, then obviously your chances are much better.

Again, you look at the reaching of frustration tolerance. But we already look at that before. When the reason of tension tolerance, a society toward to cope with the additional anxiety likely to be released by expulsion conflicts and weakening defenses in the analytic process. That's what analysis is painful. It makes you want you some fried food sometimes. That you may not have what it takes to dance with fortitude. Will be more on the health and all of this. And of course, to be very efficiently at the service of the distances. Whether the patient has some previous occasion shown the ability to persevere in the face of difficulties. Whether there are passive Preston areas of Atari should we mention which attach to the question capacity to displace a neutralizing media and to assess us to do satisfaction that we live is a children. Whether there is flexibility of libido has contrasted with a sickness. Whether there is a positive, optimistic general outlook on life are contracted with the crippling pessimism. And that's the equivalent of a progressive words to progressive developmental forces.

On the negative side, they're only three. So we're about to finish. Whether there is dangerously low tyrannical frustration anxiety couple wisdom, willingness to renounce secondary gains of the pathology. Whether the patient pathology is part of a pathological family of professional setting and cannot be altered without causing major heroes and break up in the spanner life situation. Whether there are extreme self-punishing, self-destructive, and masochistic attitudes are satisfied through the pathology and opposing proven incised which caused negative therapeutic reaction. That's the issue. It's not the reason manageable poly circle. It is not helping you. Becomes a major decision. So this word, there things that the major difference between one on the other. And you see what it does. This is the same thing. And you have to have the knowledge that we acquire. You peel a chicken and development because in order to understand what we see here, we need to know what happened in the history of that fell. But what we look at is what should be he or she now. One see well to the Hindus are hunting, you know, of development. And then you start to look back to try and understand why the base. And thus, what I had for you today.
