Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America. And like rats on a sinking ship, Democrats keep biting the dust. Another one just announced they are out of Congress. And really, it's the Republicans doing in kind of a way. They kind of pushed them out. I'll explain, but before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share, and subscribe. And the first bit of news today, and this is really important, Trump is now plotting a massive attack on Iran and it looks like it's getting closer. It could be this week. It will likely be this week. And even though there was a day this week or last week rather that Iran did not get hit, it seems like Trump is now out of patience with the regime there in Iran. And he's ready to take action. And frankly, I don't blame him. Look, this has been going on for 47 years. Past presidents, including Trump, should have gotten to this, but it has now landed at Trump's doorstep. And people can complain and they could say, "Well, we've been hearing about Iran and a nuclear weapon for so long." Let me tell you what happened with a little country called North Korea. We kept kicking the can down the road. We kept saying, "We're going to stop them from getting a nuclear weapon, but we never did anything to actually stop it. Now, they have the nuclear weapon. They are a constant threat in our hemisphere, and there's nothing we can do about it because if we tried to go in there now, they have nuclear weapons. It's too late. You cannot wait for a regime like Iran to actually have the nuclear weapons in my opinion before going in. And that's why Trump is in really an unenviable position here. Of course, we're all anti-war. Did this war have to be fought? Now, I'm not here to decide that. I don't know. But I'm telling you the position this man was in. Did he get shoddy intelligence? Did he do the right thing or not do the right thing? That's for you to decide, not me. I can't make that decision. I'm not in that position. I'm a reporter. But I know that he now feels like Iran does not want to make a deal. I felt that way a year ago. I felt that way for 47 years. Actually, Iran's never wanted to make a deal. And so, you know, at least not one that favored them tremendously. And so, now he's in this unenviable position. I predict the attack comes this week. That's my prediction. Let's pray I'm wrong. Let's pray Iran finally comes to their senses.
Meanwhile, let's take a look at this. >> So, we're hearing from our reporters in the White House, that President Trump is weighing the possibility of a massive attack. I mean, what could that mean after nearly two weeks of punishing air strikes? >> Yeah. So, it could mean a range of things. He's said over the last two weeks that he could hit civilian infrastructure like bridges or desalination plants. He's also toyed with the idea of hitting Mount Kang or as people call it Pickax Mountain which is part of the Natan's facility. So there could be quite a lot of different options here. The US generally over the last two weeks has been working to degrade Iran's military capability and loosen its control over the Strait of Hormos. So much of those strikes that we've seen in these 14 days have really been in that stretch along the southern area of Iran, the defensive arch. He could widen that out, go back to hitting places like Tahran and really focusing again on the capital. So there's a lot to uh work with, I guess, in terms of strike targets. That being said, he's also had con conflicting statements where he said that, you know, they could be talking. The Iranians are talking. He's open to the idea of diplomatic negotiations. So, it's unclear what next steps he's going to take. Now, a lot of the analysts and experts that I've been speaking to over the last two weeks have said that if the US is looking to have Iran capitulate via more air strikes and an expanded campaign, that's very unlikely to happen. And the Iranians themselves have said that. They've said that if the US escalates, they're going to escalate in kind. They're not going to sit and negotiate and they're not going to move those red lines around things like their nuclear program, which is what President Trump says he wants curbed. So, it's unclear what a actual expansion of the mission for the US is going to really do if it's not going to necessarily bring Iran back to the table. And one of the things to remember here is that Iran has a very high pain threshold when it comes to these strikes and even things like an economic blockade. So they can go quite a long time with this kind of conflict before it really starts changing their behavior. And it's unclear if the US is going to want to commit to a much broader war and campaign. Selma, >> but that's not all Iran is involved in right now. And Trump is making it clear that as Iran uses their proxies to commit war acts against the United States and its neighbors, they're going to be held responsible for that. Iran uses several groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis to wage attacks for them. So it doesn't look like it came from Iran itself. In this case, we're talking about the Houthies, who have been heavily armed by the nation of Iran to carry out attacks on Israel, on the United States, on Kuwait, on Saudi Arabia, on all these other countries that are neighbors of Iran. And they've been doing it for years, by the way, and nobody's really ever done anything about it until President Trump. And meanwhile, you have American troops as sitting ducks out there, you know, and it's not right. They have to be stopped now. Not only will the Houthies be hit back for any attacks by them, but Iran will be hit back for any attacks the Houthies launch. And that is the right policy in this reporter's opinion. You have to get to the source. Iran is the source of all almost all of the terrorism in the Middle East at this point. It wasn't always that way, but pretty much now you can trace everything back to Iran. And you know, they have to start paying the price for that if they're going to if they want to be a a member of the international community in good faith, then we welcome that. But it does not appear that that's what they want to do at this point. And maybe maybe with all these bombings, maybe with a massive attack, I don't know. Maybe then they start coming to their senses. Maybe then they want to be a good member of the international community. We can only pray.
Check this out. >> Good morning. Those attacks by US forces over military targets in Iran began at about 2 a.m. local time. The strikes lasted for more than two hours. This was the 13th night in a row that the US targeted military targets inside of Iran. It comes as President Trump is warning of something possibly much bigger on the horizon, telling Axios there could be a massive attack on Iran, that the president is close to a decision, but the decision has not been made yet. One thing the president has been firm on over and over again, the fact that he says Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. Here's President Trump. >> Doing very well against the Islamic Republic of Iran. We're doing extremely well. uh they would like to do something, but I say they're not ready yet. They got some evil intentions. We cannot let them have a nuclear weapon. If we did all this that I'm talking about about your data centers, isn't that important? When they start blowing away communities uh one by one, uh we cannot let them ever even think about having a nuclear weapon. And that's exactly what's happening. They'll never have a nuclear weapon. President Trump has also said he intends to hold Iran responsible for attacks by Houthi terrorists on Saudi shipping inside the Red Sea. Attacks by the Houthis on two Saudi tankers with missiles and drones set one tanker al light and really helped to spike oil prices briefly above $100 a barrel. The president is vowing major military punishment if the Houthi attacks continue. >> Again, I absolutely want Iran to end this in an amicable fashion. I want them to do this the right way. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be part of their plan, you know, and reporters of course are reporting negatively about Trump and about this war the same way they report negatively about anybody who's MAGA, including Elon Musk. Elon Musk had a sit down with a reporter this week and he said some things in there, one thing that I didn't like, which was he said by 2036 there would be no need for money. That scares me when rich people say that because they're not going to give up their money. And I don't believe in communism and that's what it sounds like they're talking about here. You know, he says with the advancement in AI and robotics that housing and food and and things that we need will be so plentiful that there'll be no need for money. And that may sound good on paper, but I'm a capitalist and I don't like that. I am really concerned that the horse has left the stable on that though and it's too late to get him back in. But there was another part of the interview where this reporter talks about how many people hate Elon Musk now and how he feels about that. And Elon being Elon because he's he's a pretty cool laid-back chill dude turns around and he says, you know, look, I don't mind and obviously a lot of people follow me, a lot of people like me. He's like, "But probably less people hate me than hate you and you people in the media because you're liars and you're propagandists and everybody knows who you are. You work for one side and the media really is, if you look at polling, probably the most hated institution in this entire nation. It's in fact why a lot of people are looking to different sources of news like right here at Explain America and other sources because they know it's without fear or favor. It's without corporate sponsorships that tell us what to do. We work for you. So I think that that alternative media is becoming the main source of media for a lot of people which by the way is really humbling. Um when I hear people say that you know that hey we come to explain America every day twice a day to get the news that's really humbling to me and I take that responsibility and we at the company take that responsibility very seriously. I do want you to watch what Elon said here though because it's hilarious. Let's take a look at it. What worries me is that the people you are supporting are really quite vile people in some areas. Like some members of the AFD, Alice Videl, whom I've met is a perfectly thoughtful person. But in her party are some real neo-Nazis, are some really, really awful people. and your blanket support of this kind of party with 240 million followers means that you have a power in Europe that I think perhaps you don't realize the scale of impact you have but you can >> good I hope I I hope I am having a big impact >> why why should you why should you be able to shape European politics was you don't even live there >> I think of it as the sort of the west collectively >> but do you see why this makes people think that this man who has all this power he's the world's richest man. He thinks he has a right to influence our politics. It makes people It's why, you know, we started this conversation saying superlatives. It's why people loathe you. >> I mean, some people do loathe you. >> Yes, some people do. >> But do you understand why do you think what you're doing is helpful for Western? >> Maybe maybe some people do loathe me. I And that's and that's probably true. I don't care. Um the uh but but the fact that uh as you pointed out a quarter billion people follow me is that I think a lot more people actually like me than don't and I think a lot more people hate you and the media uh more than you realize. Do you realize the media is despised? Do do you realize that that journalists how the view of journalists is is like it's like a favorable view of journalist is like 15%. >> I do know that in the United States so so the shoe is on the other foot they hate you >> they hate you far more than they hate me. >> I think there is certainly a loss of trust in journalism. I think in part there have been mistakes by journalists and journalism. I totally acknowledge that. But I also think that the kind of polarized environment particularly on social media fostered by the kinds of things you are pushing on X actually helps this makes it worse. >> I don't think so. I think I think you're the problem. The media um and and speaking of loathing, you're loathed far more than I am and you don't seem to even realize that. >> I think I think very few people know who I am relative to you. So I don't think I play in the same game. the media collectively. Um, so I mean, you're hated. Do you even do you even know that? >> You probably don't. >> I like to think that I'm aware of my own personal shortcomings and the economist shortcomings and our world view shortcomings. >> I think today there's no really there's not many reporters that don't have some kind of bias and don't really show that bias, right? When you come here, you know we're conservative. Now, you know, we're not going to lie to you. We're going to tell you the truth, but we're going to give you a conservative spin on it because that's who we are. We're conservatives and we don't lie about that. Unlike liberals, we don't pretend that we are above reproach, that we are, you know, totally unbiased. You come here, you know what you're getting. We're conservative news. We wear that badge proudly because we believe that's a direction that's going to save this country. Well, the same thing happens in mainstream media. You watch the five, you know exactly where these people stand. You have four really big conservatives and Jessica Tarlov, the resident liberal. Well, she got so frustrated with a discussion this week that she just said, "I'm out. I'm done. I'm completely done." Because Jesse Waters and Gutfeld, every time she tried to circumvent around this, cut her off at the past with another example of liberal hypocrisy, which happens so often. Is this the most important news story you're gonna hear today? No. But it's lighthearted. It's funny. And I thought you'd enjoy it because most of us are Fox News fans, right? And most of us understand liberal hypocrisy. And I thought that was good enough for you guys to watch this. So, let's check it out. >> Talk about what happened in Dayton, Ohio. Like it. >> But don't but the other thing is >> I do but you don't have you can't trace it back to a source. You can't say Trump said go out. >> Trump didn't say go out and get in their face. >> Although I remember Democrats said in court I was inspired by Donald Trump. >> Which pipe bomber? The black guy. >> Cerak. Is that how you pronounce it? S. >> No. What about the DNC pipe bomber? >> We found out he was like some random black guy. >> Oh my god. HAND. >> YOU ACCUSE ME OF BEING SOME RIGHTWING J6. >> AND YOU HAVE NO black people. So I get it on your side. Is that what you're talking about? have a few. >> We're working on it. >> Work harder. >> Ours are better than you. >> Work harder. We actually won more black than last time. >> That's absolutely not true. You got like 1% more and you think it's >> I'll take it. You keep losing white. RATHER HAVE THE WHITE OUT. >> JESSE, do not get into an argument with somebody who keeps score of skin color. >> Yeah, Jessica. >> He said he said we have better blacks than you. >> No, I didn't say that. I said we Amy's got >> Are you mixing up the white guys again? They don't all look alike. >> Coming up, AOC says, "Don't fear the com."
Now, that of course is humorous for us and we enjoy it. But here's something that's not humorous for the Democrats. Actually, it's something very serious. Redistricting, the Republican effort to redistrict has been really successful. We have taken a midterm where we should not even have a chance to win and turned it into something where we have an actual chance to keep the house. Don't let the media fool you. They, you know, as we talked about in previous stories, they have an agenda. We talked about that just here today. We have a real shot at this midterms. Another Democrat has is bit the dust. He's gone. He's ended his career. He's going to run for state senate now. State Senate. No longer in the US House of Representatives, not the United States Senate, but staying in his own state and running for state senate because he knows that because of redistricting, a Republican is going to win that district. Now, that's going to be a plus one in the Republican column. And it pushes Representative Hakee Jeff, the minority leader, further away from becoming Speaker of the House. And what a disastrous speaker of the house he would be. This representative's name is Cleo Fields. And actually his entire his entire tenure in the House has been marked by redistricting. They made that district because of the laws where you had to have um at least one minority district. Well, he just rolled right in. Then they redistricted it and he was out. Then they redistricted it again and he was in. And now the Supreme Court has weighed in. They redistrict again for probably the final redistricting at least for a while and he's out again. So Hakee Jeff released a statement, you know, full of fury about this and Republican efforts to redistrict. Maybe you haven't seen California. Maybe, Mr. Jeff, you haven't seen every single New England state that has zero Republican representatives. Save us your curl pearl clutching, will you please? Let's watch this story on it. You know, after uh great prayer and reflection, uh I have decided uh not to seek uh reelection to Congress. And the reason is very simple. Um subsection two of the voting rights act uh it has been eliminated and um I thought about running for one of the congressional seats quite frankly. Uh but the deeper I thought about it uh the more uh I've decided not to. I want to thank all of the people of District 6. This has been an amazing district uh from Shreport to Baton Rouge and all points in between. Uh these folk have they've shown up at town hall meetings time and time again. And I was saying to the Washington staff before I left, we are going to have uh two more rounds of town hall meetings uh all across the state because the people deserve it. Uh we will still be debating issues in Washington and I plan to be there until January 3rd and cast the vote for the people of this district. Um I uh throughout my uh years in public life I have uh learned that our plans are not always the plans set before us. That we are not always able to choose the moment that cause us to serve. We can only choose how we respond. Uh, and I'm going to run for the unexpired term of my good friend Senator Larry Selders. And it's it's interesting because just a few months ago, January, I mean February 15th, I stood at this podium and I congratulated him for taking my unexpired turn. And now today, uh, couple years later, I'm at the same podium, you know, requesting the voters of this district, uh, to allow me to, you know, fill this giant of a man, fill his shoes for this last remaining year. I thought about doing a lot of other things, but the moment has called me to do this, and I am going to do it. Uh I I don't I don't know if I can feel his shoes. Uh but I'm going to do my best, Kendra. I'm going do my best. And um and I would hope that the people of this district uh join with me in doing the same. Uh, now this decision uh it wasn't likely. It uh it was made with uh full conviction and guided by my faith. Uh I believe my service to public to the public will be better uh put closer to home working directly for the people and communities I've known my entire life. It is not lost on me uh what an honor it is, you know, and I want people to know, you know, when I was talking to members of Congress, they were saying, "You going back to the state senate? You're not running for the US Senate?" Uh listen, the state senate is uh where I've done the most, you know, is where I have done the most legislative work, is where I've made kindergarten mandatory, you know, and so I'm coming back to uh to my roots, and I just want to thank you all for being here today.
Listen, I'm in favor of anything that keeps Hakee Jeff away from the speaker role. This is a great development as far as I'm concerned. Add this guy to the list. Add Representative Fields to the list of people who are not going to be a thorn in President Trump's side in the coming Congress.
