Combining planets, signs and houses

So when we're combining Planet signs and houses, this is our first layer that we'll be working with. Most basic layer that will be having to interpret because to be a really good astrologer or astrologist, we have to understand the synthesis of something. And astrology is very much like a symphony where you have all these individual instruments and how to bring it all together, how to make them, how to understand them in a way where you understand the entire piece, you're not just listening for the instrument.

So what we're learning so far, what we've been learning is all the different individual instruments and the symphony. We're looking at infinite combinations. Well, maybe that's a little strong, not infinite combinations, but a lot of combinations. When we're looking at Planet signs and houses, there's a lot of different ways that we can combine these. And so we have to be able to interpret them by not having them memorized because there's, there's, there's so many combinations that we can come to. It's very hard to memorize a specific formula for each one. So it's important to, to be able to just understand them in themselves and then to on demand be able to come up with a cohesive interpretation of these three.

And we know that Mars naturally rules the first house and Aries. So let's put Mars in the second sign of Taurus. Let's say Mars in Taurus. And then let's put it in the third house. Mars and Taurus in the third. So how does Mars and Taurus function? Who can tell me? How does Mars act through the sign of Taurus? Slow and steady and materialistically. Yes, very good, Mila. Uh, not fast to act in general. Uh, value stability. Will probably be also quite stubborn in the action that it undertakes. In the end, I would agree with all of that. That can be one of the ways that we get what we want as the style. Uh-huh. Absolutely. Security positions that are all, that's all going to be part of the landscape of Mars coming through Taurus. The action of Mars, the speed of it, the biorhythm of Mars and Taurus is slower, is more methodical, and yes, can be stubborn. So, uh, rather than an impulsive action, with more of a thoughtful action.

So in the third house, where we have Mars, which is the need for physical survival and to assert our autonomy as a human, that is coming through a style where we don't always move as quickly as, as Mars is known for in its most successful state. So we may not always be grabbing on to things in the moment or getting what we want, getting a need fulfilled in the moment. And that can be a frustrating thing within us because all humans, as we see, as outlined by the archetypal zodiac, all humans have a need to have their urges expressed. So we can have this urgency within us, but yet have a style that doesn't always lend itself to having that urgency fulfilled. And sometimes that's going to be a good thing because our urgency isn't always something every time should be fulfilled. So yes, that's what we're getting to. Um, the layering of it. How is Mars in a more methodical, uh, style going to show up in the third house? What, what is going to happen? And Nina has a good point here. Patience and pragmatism in communication. So the style of how we get an evening met and where it shows up, that, that, that is the final note, the, the combination of things.

What we're really looking at when, when we look at a chart is how is somebody acting on a motivation? What we want with Mars is to survive and to get our needs, our physical needs met. How we're doing that is in, uh, slower and often, yes, stubborn, but sometimes more tactful manner in Taurus. Where is that occurring? So the where has a lot to do with the circumstances. So certain circumstances in life are where we really shine or where we really shrink from or where we have a problem with certain areas of life. So we see how we get something and a lot of how we are going to survive, our survival skills are going to be tied to the things of the third house. So that's going to be the stage, the, uh, territory of meaning that we will recognize are getting our Martian need met the most. So we get it met through, uh, using our brains. Mars is not typically a brainiac. So this is how somebody sets themselves apart when it comes to personality because how they go about ensuring their personal survival is through learning and through debating and through getting better information and from nerding out or from reading it for conversation, from, um, gathering information from a variety of sources. So we don't have a bow hunk when we have Mars coming into the third house.

So let me take a look at those comments because I think those are better than what I could have said. Yeah, it could mean stubbornness and some friction coming from one side. Uh, Yen, can be Mars here takes a bit of time to fully form their own identity because the third house is the immediate environment. Mars and Taurus can experience effects similar to opposition by the peers. I think that when we have planets in the early stages of life, that we can be working on maturity. So Mars in the third house, we may not have the best social sense. It's going to help that it comes through Taurus. We may not be as apt to say what we think as quickly. There's, there's more of an introversion with Taurus where we tend to reflect before we speak. That can keep us out of trouble. So there is more tact in that particular sign. It definitely could be worse than other signs, but in the third house, Mars does tend to have a very quick to respond, uh, way of being. So it, there is more grace, but we still are going to find ourselves, uh, being very quick to speak up. Uh, and you would have to look at aspects to tell you what the ultimate outcome is. But this is somebody that could put a lot of their energy into the creation of something beautiful. This is Taurus, uh, the, the finery of something. And then that happens in more everyday life, sort of like somebody who loves to draw and sketch and is, uh, a pretty darn awesome artist, but it's something that they do more as common entertainment. It may not be something that they try to make a living at because they just enjoy doing it throughout the day. It's just one example. Or somebody who loves to bake. We could put a lot of our energy into the sensual things of life, but yet in the third house, it may be something that we do for our own daily entertainment. Kind of like, I, I make my own baguettes and croissants and stuff like that. I'm not a professional baker, but sure is something that I love to do. So our talents are something that we may not necessarily make a living off of in Taurus in the third house. It may be something that, um, I would say is more common to our everyday life. So we can be very inventive with Mars in Taurus in the third house. Yeah, mechanical ability, sure. This is a very tinkering component parts of something environment. So put a lot of our energy into, oh, well, we do have a lot of wanting to see the, the substance of something in Taurus or have something in its, um, you know, in a, a secure, fixed fashion, fashion state. So picking up after ourselves is much more likely, a neater kind of environment with this kind of layer.

So let's look at Venus in Pisces in the seventh house. So how does Venus act in Pisces? How do we act on what we love and how we want to be loved? How do we do that in Pisces? We have amazing taste and we want perfection. Foreign. Yes, yes. The Frog, the print, uh, frog princess, the frog prince. Yes. Uh, Mila, oh, it's, it's easier to, uh, Satan type. So to me, uh, what comes to mind is first of all, as someone who, uh, would have, would have a deep need to merge in relationships, um, someone who would need, in fact, relationships and would have a tendency to romanticize or idealize potentialness or could be really lucky at meeting someone who is really like a person of dreams. But overall, um, being dreamy, maybe even, um, doing too much of daydreaming in the, in that area of relationships and people in the seventh house. Um, I would guess a good taste. We would want someone who impresses us, who we can dream about, who that would probably be important. Probably also a creative talent that one is able to share well, uh, with others, and maybe more of a social side to that place is Venus that otherwise could not necessarily with that expressed that socially, but it could be somebody could bring sweetness to the, um, group of people or to a relationship. Absolutely. Getting back to that is Venus or part of me is, um, Pisces coming through Venus, a monogamous sign ideally. Yes. Is seeing Venus coming through Pisces in it with difficult aspects, we can sometimes see a non-monogamous or or cheating behavior in the quest for something more beautiful or more perfect, or sometimes because it can be very hard to be, um, confrontational, it could be very hard to be upfront. Pisces is, uh, really what is behind the scenes. But, but not every Venus in Pisces will have that issue. The innocent Pisces doesn't imply problem. We see problem more specific to aspects, but there's a potential with Venus in Pisces that could be triggered by an aspect to have non-monogamous behavior. In the case, Milo, speaking of potentials, uh, to me, if I would look at the chart and I would see, uh, Venus and Pisces in the seventh house, I would probably think of potential for maybe, uh, having an issue with boundaries in romantic relationships or in general in relationships. Something else must have been in the trial that I really addressed this, but by itself, it could be enough to make a person more prone to being codependent, maybe staying too long in relationships where because we need that merging, these are both, both Pisces sign is about merging, overstepping our boundaries, and seven houses where we also, um, um, reach towards the other, where we cross our, so to say, so to speak, our own boundaries. So having that together in the mix, even without aspects, I would have a look at that. If this is maybe not the case, this may be codependency, maybe merging too much, maybe idealizing too much. I suggest as a potential. Yes, absolutely. Those can all be potentials.

And how would that happen in the seventh house more specifically? The, the dependency would definitely potentially be enhanced. The, oh, hold on. And the, the need for other, uh, definitely enhanced by that. Uh, so the, uh, what Yen is saying here, Venus in the seventh and Pisces kind of attitude is seeking others to complete us. Yes, absolutely. So the, the potentials that, uh, Mila is talking about, uh, because this is a, a house of seeking partnership and and seeking others, that could compound existing tendencies that already exist with Venus coming through Pisces. So if we have difficult aspects, this could be a much more difficult harmonic, we could say, to deal with.

But how about if we had Venus in Pisces coming through the first house? What might that look like? It's a very feminine representation. And with a male, with that position, it could be more of a refined presentation that they have, where, you know, the nails are clean and there's a little bit of style, you lose a little bit of gel in the hair. So, and look at aspects too, because we could have aspects that are a bit rougher to that, like a square to Venus, I'm sorry, square to Mars or something like that, could bring, uh, a more of a masculine thread to things. But, uh, yeah, Venus in Pisces in the first house, that is going to be something that we see. We see the dreaminess, we see, um, a sensitivity coming through that area of life, the area of life, you know, that represents how we assert ourselves. So that kind of, um, the sensitivity, either in a male or a female, that's going to be something that is on the surface of their personality. When it comes into the first house, where we would be actively looking for those Venus in Pisces qualities in somebody else if it were in the seventh house. Mila, um, actually almost the same as you said, geologists. I thought that, um, when Venus and Pisces in the, is in the first house, then we incorporate that, we encapsulate this energy in our own, um, maybe she's a co-appearance, even, or we have, um, easier way of, uh, bringing it out outwards so that it's seen and associated with us. While when it's in the seventh house, then it might actually not even be about us, but we might want or, um, have a potential to bring, uh, partner with these qualities into our lives. Like, um, maybe we are not artistic ourselves, but we, um, very, we feel very attracted to people who do have artistic qualities, or are also representing what we consider physical beauty to us, maybe even more. We want, maybe we want that even more. So it's a shadow side. So we might not own that energy ourselves, but we might seek out this energy in other people and want to bring it to our life like that. Absolutely, absolutely.

What about if we have Venus coming through Aries and it's in the seventh house? How might that be different from Venus coming through Pisces and being in the seventh house? What might we see? Because we would be searching for Pisces qualities. Yes, if it's coming in through the seventh, but if Aries is there, is that what we're looking for? Katie, what do you think? Or, um, a spitfire, like a hottie kind of person, very different than Pisces. And that shows up within the broadness of relationships. Mila, what do you think? I think probably would do more dating. Probably would go, uh, about people with, uh, less of romance in their thoughts, but more of an impulse, more of a, um, just acting out on the attraction. I would say that eventually that this person probably would want to be in a relationship, but I would say that probably in their youth, especially, they would go to a series of relationships because they would keep getting impulses about and this and that person that is attractive to them. So I could imagine what comes to my, maybe a serial monogamous for a while, could be, or maybe just someone who, uh, um, is, uh, like if we don't just speak of a romantic relationship, who is, uh, more, uh, self-asserting, more confident in, uh, relating to people. Like this could be actually a very good thing, probably for a manager or for anyone who needs some, uh, you know, some confidence and some air about them working with people. I could imagine that, uh, having that in Aries, this would be the Libra ascendant that would be someone who is maybe more socially apt, as well, that comes to mind. Yeah, yeah, definitely, definitely.

Yen had a really good example here and kind of illustrates to yours, some of what you were saying, Mila. I know a girl who has this, and she's usually a quiet type, but once she's seeing someone, she's actively joining parties, festivals, etc. So interpersonal relationships makes her very active. So that's a very good example of how an area of life brings out a quality within us. That's how we get that particular need met is through, yes, interpersonal relationships. So we can really wake up when we have Mars in the seventh house. Once we are engaged in relationship. Excellent example.

Let's look at a generational planet. Let's look at Pluto coming through Sagittarius and in the tenth house. So we don't look so much at the, the, the sign to describe the specifics of personality when we're looking at an outer planet through a certain sign. I would say from Uranus on out, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, they describe more the age, the generation that one was born into, but it does show us the broad things that one is motivated by, or how one is going to act out that particular plutonic need, plutonic behavior. In this case, it will be through the style of Sagittarius. So Pluto in Sagittarius in the 10th house. So how does Pluto behave? How does it broadly behave through Sagittarius? Do we have any ideas about that? Um, it would be, sorry, I'm opening my mouth without fully formulating something, but it's like, uh, very, uh, a very serious preacher, someone who's very, who has a very, um, what is it, um, they're, they're, uh, their ideology and whatever they believe in is incredibly serious. It's, it's very life and death. They take it very, because it's, it's being used for their survival. So, um, beliefs kind of have this dread quality to them. So they're like a very, I could see like a very serious preacher, not like they would be a preacher necessarily, but just, right. No, I get it. I get it. Yeah, that's a good way to combine those two things. Dark preacher, serious preacher, intense preacher. Those would be good combinations of words to use with that. Mila, what do you think? I think that that generation, uh, embodies, um, a transformation or deeper thought given to, uh, things of the ninth house or things of Jupiter, meaning more thought towards the laws that we have, more thoughts to at religion and our higher philosophies. Um, so with that placement, given that this is in the 10th house, in general, with Pluto in the 10th house, we aspire to make something out of us and we aspire to transcend what we come from, the environment we came from, the fourth house, even more than a regular 10th house. Um, overall. So here, not uncommon to have a higher transformation going on with that overall. And I would say that probably it would be someone who aspires to assume a position of power or comes somehow is given, maybe a position of power, aspires of to have a successful career, wants to have some impact on the world. And I don't mean maybe being thirsty for power, but I mean someone who is assured, self-assured, and a good tactician in assuming, acquiring the things of the 10th house, because we have the 10th house Saturn energy combined with Pluto. So we are actually good at the tactics, we are good at resilience and, um, going further on our social status and career. And now when we add to this, the things of the ninth house and Jupiter, then it could be a person that on their life path, dedicate themselves to, to things of the law or things of the religion. Maybe, let's say, um, they work as a coach, maybe they do something connected to being a motivational speaker after they had some transformation in their life. And with that, of course, it would be also plausible that, um, they would dedicate themselves to higher studies, maybe some higher studies of the law, maybe university lecturer or a professor, maybe a lawyer, maybe someone who is a religious figure or against an almost religious following. So there are many, many examples, I guess, that we could go through. But I would offer, I would look like, um, on the areas that Jupiter rules, that areas that Sagittarius represents, also could be something connected to journey, to long time travel and journey, uh, true life journey through philosophical perspectives. And then I would associate that with having Pluto in the 10th house, which is the point we have very focused, laser sharp for some people, attention towards getting further and building our reputation and career. And this is the outcome, whatever that on that spectrum. Okay, yeah, very good, very, very good.

I could, yeah, even see somebody, you know, finding their power and rising to power and feeling like they've achieved the type of status that they're looking for outside of their own culture or outside of their own birthplace or, um, even, you know, some people can feel like they've made that change, uh, or gotten far enough away if they move to a different state or different province. It's so there could be that, that sense of of mastery or confidence that that comes through the things of Sagittarius. It's not as obvious that somebody will, or not, not obvious that's not the word. It's not as, um, playing to see that say somebody that has Pluto coming through Sagittarius will travel or will do something outside of their their culture. It is plain to see that and to say that and to expect that when we have a personal planet coming through Sagittarius and say it's in the 10th house, travel, doing something outside of our culture, that can be a part of something, a part of things with Pluto coming through Sagittarius, but we always have to keep in mind we're looking at planets through signs and in houses that we don't have as specific of action being described by the particular outer planet. So say if the Venus and Sagittarius and if that were in the 10th house, it would be highly, highly likely that somebody would love travel, learning, adventure, and all of that would be in the context of what somebody wants to grow to be and the kind of status that they're going to try to achieve. So that will be a broad part of things with Pluto and Sagittarius, and it will be a specific part of things with Venus going through Sagittarius and in the 10th house. So I have to keep that in mind always when we're looking at personal and outer planets.

So let's look at one more example. Let's look at the Sun coming through Scorpio and it is in the 11th house. That is an interesting combination. Scorpio in the 11th house. What might we see? First of all, with the Sun coming through Scorpio, what, what are some of the components of the identity when the Sun comes through Scorpio? What do you think? Deep, more introverted persona. Absolutely. The covert socialite. Oh, yeah. And is already layering them for us. Yes. There was the covertness to the identity. We don't really want to be exposed. The Sun is this is the the fullness of the sunshine and when it's in, uh, Scorpio, that tends to be on our own terms, how much and where our rays penetrate and shine. I think we're becoming vulnerable, becoming vulnerable to to fully shining and to feel safe in that. When we have the Sun coming through Scorpio, and then when that comes into the 11th house, we have this more introverted, uh, covert kind of identity happening, uh, and oftentimes coming out most within friendships. So this is an interesting overlay when we see this one because this is somebody who's often an ambivert. When we see this kind of overlay, we can also see this with the Sun in Scorpio in the third house, very similar kind of thing outcome where we can have somebody who most people would see as, you know, very quiet and, you know, still waters run deep, but yet you get them into a social situation or where they're comfortable with friends and they are wild, and you're like, what happened? So it could be very situational how somebody with an identity planet, and this could be Mars, most likely it's going to happen with the Sun, it can also be Venus, it's coming into a very quiet or covert sign. But yeah, it's watch out when they're comfortable or when they are with friends because they will be hilarious. Uh, very controlled boundaries with who they will talk to. They do a lot of talking. That could also be a facet of things. Yeah, yeah. We don't always let everybody in with planets coming into Scorpio. Um, so this could be one of those positions where we are very interested and curious about others, but not necessarily as apt to reveal as much about ourselves. Mm-hmm.

Stacy, would you have like a visual of someone's death and rebirth in that position, or is that like more of a Pluto thing, or am I like confusing it with the action of Pluto? Um, I think that there is a death and a rebirth when it comes to our identity. That's a specific part of the, of the personality with the Sun coming through, Pluto, even if we don't have any difficult aspects. I think that that's just the nature. I'm sorry, coming through Scorpio, that's just the nature of Scorpio is that we will spiral ever, um, downward. And that doesn't mean negatively because that spiral can be a spiral of insight. And every time you go around, we get a little bit more information and we spiral a little bit deeper. And we think, oh no, now I know everything. No, it's spiral a little bit deeper. I know, I get more information. Now I think we know everything. No, now we're going deeper. And there does tend to be a, that's a thing with the Sun, with with Venus in Scorpio, where people can have periods of dormancy, that periods of relative inaction, well, they'll take the self out of the game of life. And that is where they kind of put their head down and transform. They'll emerge a year later and have a very different version of themselves going on. So there is a, a shedding of the skin that happens with the Sun coming through Scorpio, even if we don't have difficult aspects. People are going to change. Does that help? Yeah, that is very helpful. And like when it's in the 10th house, are you going to be more likely to see it? Okay. Um, it will happen within the course of what we are becoming. So we could find that that the process of, I guess, growing out of our current version of ourselves, which is called identity crisis, that is going to happen within the, the area of life or within the actions or the behaviors that are really about making something of ourself. So this can be one of those positions where we find that when we get to the top, we aren't any more happy than we have been. And that is what could trigger this transformation of identity. So it may be that we come to know ourselves quite well with in the 10th house environment. I, that's usually only if we are doing what we want to do or following our heart's desire. And that might be more possible with the Sun coming through Scorpio. It's a very desirous sign. We really need to be following our heart's desire to have the best fruits, the best results within the 10th house. And the kind of pressure to become something more authentic that, that we can feel with the Sun coming through Scorpio could lend itself to having a much more authentic life in the 10th house. Okay.

In Scorpio, I can see someone famous for being a Scorpio and famous for their intensity and whatever, or even like an internet personality who's very famous, but maybe like interpersonally they're not like on a one-on-one basis or on a on a smaller scale, they're they're more reserved, but then they're just very well known though. Uh-huh. We need to look at the chart of Prince. I think he's a really good example of that. He has a fascinating birth chart to look at. And maybe that's one that we need to start examining in this course because we're going to start picking natal charts apart here pretty quick, just, uh, coming up in February. So that would be a really good example of a very covert identity that had a drive to be known. And when we see that very weird layering and personalities, or we have like an intent, attention-seeking introvert, how does that happen? Well, it do. Uh, so I think we should wrap up for today and we'll be back on Sunday. Mila, do you want to add something before we go? Oh, yeah, just very briefly. I think that it's actually not uncommon too, uh, having an introverted personality but wanting to, uh, become a known person. I think that many people who have, do have a drive, depending on the professional career, do have a drive to become a person of importance in their profession and group. But I have a feeling that many of these people, uh, do not want to be famous in a way, you know, that they would have paparazzi running after them. So, for example, I know that I would like to have a fulfilling profession and I would like on some point of my life, um, be able to say that I have achieved some good reputation in that profession and that would be very fulfilling to me. But I, to me, I think it would be a nightmare if I would be in any kind of profession where people would be like picking my private life and so on. I think that this is not uncommon, frankly, to somehow you want to be, um, acknowledged, but you don't want to be this outward famous, like like Prince. Maybe I think it's not, yeah, that's a very good point, very, very good point. To be respected and have a position within your field and perhaps to, to be recognized and known by the people who know what they're looking at when it comes to your particular field, but not to have the masses after us. And to be living in a fishbowl like that. I think that that's an ideal situation for most of us. There's, you know, the odd one, I think, that wants to be Paris Hilton and have everybody after them. But I think for most of us, we recognize that that would be a very exhausting life and in a weird life as well. So, yeah, I think that kind of describes a lot of the archetypal journey that, you know, we all want to be known and and have our place and I, I think be known for for doing our thing, whatever that thing is, whether it was being a, a parent or, you know, a professional person or an artist or, you know, somebody that, uh, we just did the best that they could. Maybe they didn't have a lot of aspirations about wanting to be much, but they felt like they achieved, you know, what was important to them. So I, I do think that that's a human need. And even introverts, even if you don't want to be looked at and you don't want people prying into your life, you're even asking too many questions about you, I, I think that's common to want to be known, uh, for what it is that you do.
