Show, the Fan, occurs when a wedge or a bundle is opposed by a single planet, which creates a handle. So, the fan is similar to the bucket, except the bucket occurs when the bowl pattern is opposed by a single handle planet. So, planets contained in the wedge part of the fan pattern, that means the ones that are clustered together, they're spaced within 120 degrees of each other. Well, the handle of the fan opposes, but it doesn't have to be exact, it can be off to the side. But with this, if it's within 60 degrees of either edge of the wedge, then it is going to be part of the bowl. So, the planets defining, defining the edge of the bundle, they are often going to be trying to each other, but not always exactly. And there's often an opposition from the handle, the rope of the kite, to the midpoint planet of the bundle, but it may not be. It may be opposite to the midpoint of the bundle, but there may not be a planet exactly there. But a fan proper has the Apex Planet, the one out by itself, in a direct opposition to the midpoint, and there is a planet there. That's a classic fan.
So, the handle, or we could say the string of the fan, is the point of incoming activity that's going to inform, uh, enrich, interact with, meet the needs of the planets within the bundle. So, the bundle is self-contained. We know this about these, uh, bowl and wedge bundle patterns, and even to some degree, uh, with the, um, uh, the bucket. Um, so it's con, it's self-contained because everything is contained within a Trine and a space of a Trine. So, it depends very much on the handle, the Apex planet of the kite, to feed it, to bring new things, because it's like a closed circuit where we have, uh, easy aspects. We don't need anything else to come in. So, we have this growth that comes into the pattern, comes into the wedge, as opposed to the bucket, where we have the bowl that serves or gives rise to the expression of uses. We could say the Apex Planet, the handle, it's a little bit different, uh, motion when it's more outgoing and what is more incoming. The fan is more incoming to what is already there. So, the function the handle planet represents is what everything else really depends on, or is gaining sustenance, or growth, or incoming information, or activity from. So, one could be happy with what they have and not choose to grow, as long as the handle of the fan is functioning, wow, and they can meet their own needs. But we can have issues if the handle of the fan, the Apex planet, is the one that's hanging out there in space, if that isn't supplying the rest of the needs, the rest of the planets contained within the wedge. So, we can feel that we don't have a way to gain anything new, or, or have this majority of needs that actually function pretty well within themselves. There's something that's going to be majorly missing if we have that planet, uh, that that is compromised, safe itself is in other hard aspects, um, or if we're really, really wrestling with this opposition, if if there is a core opposition that can really get in the way of having that Apex planet, that long planet out there, the handle of the kite, that can get in the way of having that consistently supply the rest of the planets with what they need.
So, we can have an either-or effect. If we're strongly struggling with that opposition, the chances that we will solve it are greater if we have more easy aspects within the wedge pattern. Um, so we need to really look at what is it that we're depending on? What function is it that we're depending on? What is that outlying planet? What is it that that's bringing something new into what we already have? All right, so let's look at...
[Music]
Are the fan? I kept saying the kite. Oh God, I probably totally confused you guys. Did I start with the right one? Well, we're going to talk about the kite anyway, because that can be within the fan. Oh yeah, I kind of had a crossover there in my own mind. So, the fan may not contain, uh, kite proper, but it often does. I would, I'd say a good deal amount of the time. But the kite itself, we're just talking about four planets. I have five that we're talking about. Four. So, this is not a chart pattern that all the planets have to be contained within the space of something. This kite pattern can be there along with other types of chart patterns. Very common to see it with the fan. So, we have a Grand Trine. We know that Grand Trines are points of significant ease. We know that there's no Trine with a Trine. So, Trines are very much, again, like we talked about with the fan pattern, a closed circuit. We don't need anything more. We're self-sufficient with what is there. So, we are okay with making do. We, we really don't ask for more, and, and we don't expect more of ourselves with, uh, Trine. They also don't drive us to be cooperative or work with others, although we can. And there, there are some Trine combinations that are more active than others. But generally, um, we feel so proficient in a certain area of life that we just don't need to try. We don't have anything to prove. There's nothing to do in that area of life that doesn't be more perfect. It just means that we don't feel that something needs to be addressed. So, we have a hard aspect within the kite, and it's a bit different than if the kite is contained within a fan, because we have all of the planets involved in a fan pattern, but not necessarily with a kite. So, the opposition, the Apex opposition, this is the point of release for the easy things that are going on for us. We can wrestle with that core opposition.
We can have these other things in our life surrounding that opposition that are very much working. So, we can have this tension, this conflict, and ourself within life, but surrounding it, we have easy ways out. We have parts of our personality that can come up with solutions that are compatible, that that can work with and help to solve the tension of that opposition. If we do solve that opposition, if we do realize our pardon things, if we do solve this hypocrisy within us, because we're one way, but we're also another, and often it can depend on the situation or the condition of the person that can bring that out within us. And very much with oppositions, we don't realize that we can have one opinion or be one way, but then and end up being another way of having another opinion that's actually antagonistic too, or sometimes not in tune at all with what we think or what, or, or who we are. We don't realize that we're inconsistent. So, when we do have this, uh, werewolf moment with our opposition and realize that we have a part in things, that, uh, how we're being is very much at work in what we're experiencing now. How are we being? What is the state of our being? So, then we can really feel that pull toward growth, toward that Apex opposition planet. We can really feel like we have all of our, we have ourselves together. We are able to make decisions where we can come to compromises within ourselves, where we can move forward and get what it is that we want. Okay.
So, the minor Grand Trine, one Trine linked by two sextiles. This is a very, very common thing to see in charts, very, very common. And this pattern, it shows the practical application of the ease contained within the Trine, because we know that sextiles are about practical magic. They are about getting our hands dirty and learning something for ourselves. Every hands-on, it's easy to connect with others and work with others and to have a, I guess, shared ideas inform what we're doing. So, there is a, there's a sharing, cooperative, willing, curious action that comes with a sextile. So, it takes the ease of the Trine, because we're not driven with a Trine. Sometimes we can feel a calling or we can feel a mission, but we are not driven or caused to do something because of problem. Sometimes we can see action related to Trine, too, because we want to do something. There's mission or calling. You see that's different, though. That doing something to fix something or address something or make something better when we're going towards something rather than dealing with something or, um, stopping something, avoiding something, or fixing conflict, like you see with a hard aspect. So, we can find the right people, resources that allow the point of ease, the Trine, to be expressed. So, I can't see what I wrote. Era, let me see if I can find it here. Okay, one is less lazy and confident overall, because we do feel, um, excited with sextiles. There's a, there's a want to do something, not so much the, the, the need that is, is not a have to. There's a lot of options involved with sextiles. We associate these with the third house. So, we want to find others and are very likely to find others and connect with others that allow what comes easy to us to be expressed in a way where we're able to share it and, and we're doing something with it. So, there is a doing that is there, but again, it's not because we're just trying to avoid or fix something.
The Mystic Rectangle.

So, we have two oppositions linked by Trines, connected by two sextiles. So, we have a big envelope in the chart, and we do have a need to act or to solve problems, to do something, because there is an imbalance within us with the oppositions. Something needs to be fixed. There's a hypocrisy that is there. But because we have Trines, we have sextiles, uh, it's very kind of a similar thing to a kite. Yes, I think you can see it like a super kite in some ways, because we have Trines and sextiles that are intersecting with those dual oppositions. We are going to feel compelled to involve others or to enact our, or to act on our feeling of mission or calling in order to solve, or to be a part of solving, or to have a way to channel this inner tension. So, we may do things for others. Oftentimes, people are drawn to like, international humanitarian work with this aspect. We, we want to have a global impact. We want to take our own personal crap and channel it into something that can assist or help the many. So, when we encounter opposition, when we encounter difficulty, we have these gifts within us with the abilities, uh, with, with the sextile to cooperate, to draw others to us that have very similar skills, the Trine to inspire, to get along more effortlessly, to employ our vision. We can work with others. When, when we encounter opposition, we have these other parts of our personality that are going to kick in that have solutions that are able to be cooperative and visionary. Sometimes we, oftentimes we lack perspective with hard aspects, but there's several other parts of our personality that do happen. So, we're drawn to situations, and oftentimes we will be fingered for situations, we will be called on to involve ourselves in situations where you can mediate, we can broker a solution between enemies. And this is a direct expression of how we have that enemy within us, but yet we have these other parts of us that can bring understanding, or peace, or soothing, or, um, the things that we can fall back on that, that are working. And so, because we have an abundance of ease and success and, and things that we really don't need to address or work on, we can focus, um, usually in an easier way than others, on solving these difficult aspects here, because...
Because I think we have a problem-solving ability that's connected. Because we have sextiles here, we have a problem-solving ability that is usually not a part of an opposition, and an analysis that's available to us, likely to fulfill the mission that we are called to. There's, uh, Trines involved in this, and that's where we can feel like we can, uh, we can work on a solution. Uh, okay. So, we feel we have something to contribute, and we do have a lot of resources and skills that we're going to be able to throw at that desire that are contained in a sextile and the Trine, and, uh, we will participate with others in a way that inspires them, and we can be sought out to be the face of a campaign or of a movement, something that is usually not considered revolutionary, but more social.
So, let's look at the Hard Rectangle. No, that is not the name of a porn movie. All right. So, this is a rare pattern, and we have two oppositions linked by two sesquiquadrates and two semi-squares. So, it's, it's all hard aspects. We can feel challenged by others, because that's what we feel with oppositions. We have that projection. Can feel challenged by others. At the same time, we feel challenged by circumstances and conditions, our past, being unprepared by our parents.
Conflict and challenge. And when we face getting a certain need met, and we can lack insight into how we pursue satisfaction or success without considering the needs of others or the current realities at hand, which is very different from the Mystic Rectangle, where we had the double oppositions linked by Trines and sextiles, easy aspects. There was that inclusion of others in the solving of our problems. So, are the consideration of others? I would say, in, in the Mystic Rectangle, and the Hard Rectangle, we have the difficulties of the semi-square, which is not considering, I guess, the, the resources that we have at hand. And then we have the difficulties of the sesqui, we dream, we're not considering the current state of reality. And then we have the oppositions, where we are usually seeing our faults in others. So, we can feel blocked at every turn. We can feel that there is no way out, and we have to compromise. We have to see our part in things. That is the oppositions that is going to imply to taking responsibility for what is going on. So, this awareness of us, this, uh, werewolf moment of, "Oh my God, is that what I really look like?" That awareness leads to the adjustments to the plans, the adjustments to one's conditions and environment. We can, we can adjust what it is that, how we do things, what we're after, because we can see that the way that I am requires a different plan that takes into account all of the moving parts of reality and what reality looks like, and I have to consider the resources that I actually have at hand in order to accomplish all of this that I want to do. So, we can see everybody working against us until we have that awareness that, "Oh, wait, what I'm putting out there might be resulting in what I'm getting back, and perhaps I need to be different." And if that happens, then I'm able to change this or shift that, because this person might be able to work with me, or I might be able to cooperate over here. So, it can start the wheels turning when it comes to realizing what we have to do and what we can do. A lot of times, we just, we just see blocks before we solve the opposition, and then things can start to open up when we can say, "Oh, okay, well, emphasis liquid right here." So, knowing this about myself, I had better take into account what the people around me need, because I, you know, I've been pursuing this, um, I've been pursuing a law degree, and I realize that I have been accusing the people around me because I have an opposition. I've been accusing the people around me of stressing me out, and of asking too much of me, and of being too loud when I need to study. And what I see is, perhaps I'm stressing out the people around me because I'm asking for my household and my conditions to be just so, so that I can feel like I have the kind of peace and the environment that I can learn in. And I realize that perhaps the people around me are walking on eggshells. And then now, okay, I can adjust my pursuit of this law degree, because now that I see a lot of what I'm doing is resulting in what I'm seeing in the home, I am going to go to the library and I am going to reserve one of those cubicles where I can go in and I can shut the door, and I can have it for two or three hours at a time, and that is how I will do my work. Because we have a semi-square, then we'll have some thinking like, "Yeah, that is kind of far. I may not, you know, it's really not the place for me. Uh, you know, there's kids there. It's, I'm not sure if I'm gonna have all the privacy that I need." So, we solved the issue of transportation because we see that we can, previously, we probably would have just seen that it's just too far. I don't have the resources. I don't have the time. But we decide, "All right, I'm, I'm going to borrow my mother's car on this day, and I'm going to take her car, and I'm going to get the cubicle at the very end of the hallway." Problem solved. But before we see that it's our stressed out, demanding behavior that's resulting in what we're seeing in the home, nothing can be done because everybody else is stressing me out. So, we really have to take that responsibility, and then the wheels start turning there. Okay. Yes, realization of one's unconscious doing results in changes in environment and how one relates to it. So, we can stop and seeing that these blockages are insurmountable. We could do something like, "Well, change our environment." When it comes to studying, we go to the library, saying we feel stressed because there's a lot of noise and action around us, and, and we're a quiet person, and we do everything that we can, because we have a hard rectangle, we do everything that we can to keep the noise out. We put extra soundproofing in the walls. We put pillows next to the gaps in the doors. We get new windows put in that are double, the triple, or quadruple pane. And then we solve the opposition. The wheels start turning, and we decide, "You know what? I am not going to deal with these constant annoyances and difficulties in my environment. I'm just gonna go to a place that suits me." So, instead of trying to keep out the noise, we may go somewhere. We may finally be able to go somewhere where it is quiet. But previous to solving the difficult aspects, everything was preventing us from having the quiet. So, we have to first see that, "Well, I've chosen to be in a place that really doesn't have what it is that I need, and I need to situate myself. I need to change my life some. I might even need to develop some new skills or get a new job that can make a possible for me to have what I need."
Um, Nazarene, they're interesting. Yeah, semi-squares and sesquiquadrates are what sextiles are to trines, and what quintiles are to biquintiles, and subtiles are to biceptiles. They both represent a difficulty with making a plan that takes into account what, uh, what what we're actually dealing with, because we were just talking about the semi-square and, um, sesquiquadrate. Would you say that that is how it shows up in someone's life? Like, when you're reading charts with people in readings, um, is that how would you, like, would you say the example you just gave is more of an analogy or more of like how it literally would manifest in someone's life? It's the best example. Practical example I would give about a sesquiquadrate is a chart that was a bowl, but was defined by a sesquiquadrate instead of a Trine. All of the planets were in the space of 135 degrees, and there was a defining sesquiquadrate from the edge planet to the leading planet. And this person planned for their retirement. Their whole life is about their retirement, because the edge planet was Saturn, the trailing planet, the leading planet was the Sun. So, the whole focus was getting to the end and retirement, and retiring early, and, and this is all this person could see. What they didn't take into account was the needs of the people around them when they were forming this retirement plan. They put so much money away, um, and made a lot of sacrifices during the course of the family's life to put this money away, and excluded a lot of family needs in the process of putting this money away. So, when retirement came, this family member looked around and saw that their personal relationships were really in shambles, because they had not focused on those. They had focused on retirement, and in their mind, after retirement, that's when they would focus on the relationships, because now, I would think they would have time. Except the relationships really eroded and atrophied while they were on this, uh, tangent. It's retirement tangent, we could say. So, the goal of retirement was very much disrupted and not met by the reality that this family member's relationships had fallen apart. Person did not take into account all the moving parts, didn't take into account the family needs, didn't take into account the personal needs, didn't take into account that relationships don't begin after retirement. So, things fell apart. Assets were split up, and I think it was just like four years before he reached his goal. So, I think that's a really, really good example of a sesquiquadrate.
