So, a couple of weeks ago, Anthropic released something called Clawed Design. And I honestly think that most people are completely missing out on how big this actually is. Because at first glance, it just looks like another AI design tool. But after messing around with it for the past few days, I genuinely think that this could completely change how most people start online businesses. And I know that sounds very dramatic, but let me show you exactly what I mean.
So, right now there are people making money selling these like super simple products online. And I mean simple stuff like these basic text t-shirts or funny mugs, sarcastic uh hoodies, minimalistic posters, things that honestly look so basic. But the reason this business model has worked for years now is because it's never really been about just one perfect design. It's about volume. People making real money with this stuff usually have hundreds, sometimes even thousands of products listed online. And that's always kind of been the hard part of this business. Coming up with ideas, making all the designs for them, creating the mockups, building the store, writing the listings, uploading everything. It was all honestly kind of a nightmare. But Claude can automate a huge chunk of that process now. And what's crazy is that Claude isn't just generating designs. It can actually build tools for you that can then generate the designs, which kind of starts to get insane.
So, in this video, I'm going to show you how you can use Claw Design to build what is basically a semi automated print on demand business in just five simple steps. We're going to look at real stores making real money. I'll show you how to find winning products, how to use Claw to generate designs in bold, how to turn those designs into actual products, and then I'll show you how you can use AI to build an entire storefront and the fulfillment side of this print on demand business. Honestly, the fact that one person can now build something like this with AI is kind of wild.
Okay, so let's go ahead and break down the entire process step by step. Now, the first thing I want to do is show you some stores that are making these basic products just so you can kind of get an idea for yourself of what this looks like. So, I went to Etsy and I found, you know, this shirt as an example right here. It's literally just text on a t-shirt. There's no crazy custom illustration, no complicated graphic design skills involved. All it is is just a relatable phrase in a clean font. But despite how simple it is, this listing alone has generated thousands of sales. And once you start looking around Etsy, you realize this is happening everywhere. I mean, literally everywhere. Like, you'll see shirts for teachers or moms or like different holiday themed shirts like for Christmas or Halloween. Basically, every niche imaginable. And most of the time, the designs are actually very simple. Usually, it's just some kind of like funny phrase or sarcastic saying or like a relatable statement targeted at a specific audience. And this is where a lot of people get confused because they think that these stores are successful because they created just one genius design that went viral. But in reality, most of these stores win because they have volume, right? They have hundreds, sometimes thousands of listings posted. And every single listing becomes another opportunity to get discovered in the search results, which is another opportunity to make a sale. And once you kind of start to understand that, you start to realize why AI changes this business so much. Because traditionally, creating hundreds of decent looking designs took a long time. It took forever. Like even if each design only took around 15 to 20 minutes, scaling to hundreds of products became a massive amount of work. But now Claude can help automate huge parts of that process. And not just with the design generation itself, but the actual systems behind generating the designs at scale. And that's the part that honestly blew my mind the most about this.
So, the first thing that we have to do, step one, is we need to figure out what types of products are already selling well. Because one of the biggest mistakes most beginners make with print on demand is trying to reinvent the wheel. Okay? You don't need to come up with some completely original idea that nobody has ever thought of before. In fact, most of the successful stores that you'll see are doing the exact opposite. They're finding patterns that are already proven to work and sell and then they're just creating their own variation around those existing patterns. And so what I usually like to do is start directly on platforms like Etsy or even something like Tik Tok shop and just study what's already working on those platforms. For example, if we look through Etsy, you'll notice certain styles that show up over and over again, right? things like minimalistic text shirts with retro fonts or sarcastic sayings or hobby related t-shirts or simple graphic shirts with like one funny line of text and the graphic is related to that line of text or holiday related t-shirts. This is a huge one. Okay, the point being is that you start seeing the same structures repeated constantly. And this is important because we're not trying to guess what people want to buy. We're simply looking for proof that customers are already spending money on these types of products. And one thing that I especially look for is whether a design can become a template. And what I mean by this is, for example, if a shirt says gardening is my therapy, that same exact structure can apply across multiple niches. is you can make a shirt that says fishing is my therapy or gaming is my therapy or running is my therapy or coffee is my therapy and so on. You get the point. So instead of one idea, you suddenly have 50 ideas from that one template. Okay? And this is where scaling becomes a lot easier because if you can identify design formats that are repeatable, Claude can actually help you generate huge amounts of variations incredibly fast. And honestly, once you start seeing these patterns, you realize that most of these stores are basically just running systems. They're not sitting there individually crafting every single design from scratch. They're simply repeating what's working. They figured out like, you know, frameworks that work and then they just scale those uh those trends and those frameworks across tons of different niches on their t-shirts. And once you start recognizing these repeatable patterns, this is where claw design can get kind of crazy because, you know, most people think that AI tools are just there to generate content for you. Like you type in a prompt, it gives you an image or some text and that's it. But Claw Design works a lot differently. It can actually build little software tools for you based on what you ask it to create. I mean, it's it's insane. So instead of manually designing every single shirt one by one, we can actually have Claude build us a bulk design generator that creates entire batches of designs automatically.
So let me show you exactly what I mean. When you go to claude.ai over here on the left side, you should see this little design button. And when you click on it, it opens up this entirely separate design workspace inside Claw. Then over here on the left side, we can start creating our first project. So I'm going to click on new project and I'll just call this something like the bulk design generator. Then for the design system, I'm going to set this to none. And then personally, I'll uncheck the highfidelity option to save us some credits in the future. And then click on create. And now we have this blank workspace where Claude can start building custom tools for us. Now, technically, you could sit here and play around with this and manually figure out prompts and experiment with building your own generator from scratch. And you know, you can do that, but for this video, to help save you some time, I already went ahead and created the full prompt right here, and I'll leave it down below in the description for you guys to use for free. So, I'm just going to paste the entire thing in right here. And this prompt is basically just telling Claude to build us a textbased design generator with several key features. And once we hit send, Claude will start building out the actual app for us. And after a few minutes, we end up with this fully functional generator where we can type in a list of phrases or niches. We can customize the fonts and layout styles and instantly generate huge batches of shirt designs. And this is honestly insane that we're at this point where AI can generate a tool like this for us within minutes. Now, you'll have access to this tool, so you'll be able to play around with it yourself. Um, but you can see for yourself that this is a fully functioning tool. And let's just say, for example, that I wanted to paste in my own t-shirt text ideas here. Well, I could actually go back into normal Claude, like just go to the Claude chat, and have it give me 20 hobby ideas. Then I would paste all of them into the generator, hit generate, and now suddenly we have dozens of design ideas in just a few seconds. And the important thing here is that these don't need to be like perfect works of art, right? Like they just need to look clean, uh, readable, and be niche, similar to the types of products people are already buying on Etsy. Like, if we head over to Etsy, you'll see these really simple t-shirts getting thousands of sales per year. And it's just a simple t-shirt with text on it. And so that's what makes this generator so powerful because now we can generate similar designs in literally minutes. And the cool part about this is you can also just keep on refining this tool over time. So for example, maybe I want the text aligned differently or I want a curved layout for the text or perhaps I want distressed fonts or stuff like that. Instead of having to rebuild everything manually, I can literally just tell Claude what I want changed about the tool and then it updates the tool for me. And that's the part that feels kind of surreal. Like we're not just using software tools like Photoshop anymore to create the designs for us. We're using AI to create the exact type of software that we need in real time. And once you start combining this with the repeatable design templates that we talked about earlier, things can scale really quickly because now instead of spending an hour creating five different designs, you can literally create 50 or 100. And again, not every design is going to become a massive bestseller. But that's not even really the point. The point is that the more listings you have out there, the more chances you have to get discovered and make sales over time. And that's why a lot of these successful stores that you see have massive, massive cataloges because they're not just relying on one product to change their life overnight. They're building an entire ecosystem of products that slowly compounds over time.
Now, obviously, creating the designs is only one part of the equation because eventually you do need somewhere to actually sell all of this stuff that you are creating. And honestly, if you are a complete beginner or even if you have experience, Etsy is probably the easiest place to start because the traffic is already there and there's already customers who are searching for those specific products. But eventually, a lot of people hit the same wall. They realize that if they want to take this more seriously long term, they probably want to build their own storefront, too. And so you can have your Etsy store, but most of the successful print on demand Etsy shops that I've seen also have their own storefront on their own website as well. Because when you only rely on marketplaces, you're kind of building on rented land. Like the platform controls the algorithm, the customer relationship, the branding, the fees, basically everything. And so what a lot of print on demand shops do is they'll open up their own storefront on their own website and slowly migrate customers over time because when you have your own website for your print on demand business, you basically control the entire business.
Now I used to be a web developer and building e-commerce sites used to be very expensive and timeconuming. But this is another area where AI is starting to completely change things because now tools like Hostinger Horizons makes this process way more beginner friendly because now you can build your entire website using AI. And so let me show you what this actually looks like. You'll want to first click on the link down below in the description and that will bring you to the Hostinger Horizon's landing page. Now, from here, simply click on view plans, and then it's going to bring you down to all of the different plan options. Now, for most people, in my opinion, who are just starting out, uh, the starter plan is probably going to be more than enough for you. You can see that it includes AI credits for the actual AI website builder. You've got the ability to create multiple websites, analytics, you can sell digital products, which we need for what we're going to be building, and it also includes a free domain name, which, you know, is nice because normally that's another thing that you have to buy separately. So, I'm going to go ahead and select the starter plan. Now, during the checkout process, you can choose between monthly billing or the 12-month option. Usually, the yearly option is going to be way cheaper overall. So, that's what I'd personally recommend if you're serious about actually building something longterm. Then from here, you can create your Hostinger account, enter your payment information, and once that's done, you're basically ready to start building. You'll see this page pop up right here, and once it goes away, Hostinger Horizons will be ready. Now, from here, you can either choose to start from scratch, or you can choose from one of these pre-made templates if you want a starting point for your store. Now, I would recommend just starting from scratch because you'll get a much more customized website this way. So, in the prompt box here, I can say something like, "Build me a modern apparel brand that sells funny, sarcastic t-shirts, right?" And then hit enter. It'll spend a couple of minutes building your store. And once it's done, you can see that it's built us a genuinely impressive e-commerce website. I mean, the branding here looks incredible. The layout works really well on this website. We've got the navigation menu up here. And the most impressive part about all of this is everything is 100% functional. Now, of course, we'll add our own t-shirt products onto the website in a second, but like for example, if I were to click onto one of these placeholder products, you can see that it takes us to the finished product with like the sizes and an add to cart button. If I click on add to cart, it'll actually add it to the cart. And I can open up my cart and you can see that it's, you know, behaving like a typical e-commerce website should, which, you know, for something that took maybe about a minute to create is insanely impressive to me. Um, and then from here you can refine things or make changes either by just chatting with the AI down here in this chat box or if you toggle this edit content uh button here, you'll be able to edit some of the content directly on the page, which I honestly just love that feature. But let's just say for example that I wanted to, I don't know, remove the our story button at the top up here. I could simply come down to the chat box and say, "Let's remove the our story button at the top of the homepage and the AI will spend a couple of moments and it'll remove that button for you." And you know, obviously you can spend more time making edits or whatever you need to get your website ready, but in my opinion, this is perfect as is.
Now, the next step here is we need to go ahead and connect Printull to our store so that our t-shirts actually show up on the site. To do this, click up here on my store, then head over to the integrations section and click get started on Printull and go ahead and add it. It'll then redirect you to Printull where you'll have to create your Printull account. If you don't already have one, it takes like a minute to set up and it's completely free to sign up to. Once you're done though, it'll ask you to give access to Printull. Just accept it and then you'll be redirected back to Hostinger. And now Printull is officially connected to your e-commerce store. And this is kind of like where the automation side really starts to kick in because now we can upload the designs that we created within Claude into Printull, place those designs onto products such as t-shirts, and then sync those products directly into our website. And now whenever somebody places an order on our website or even our Etsy shop, Printull automatically handles the printing, the shipping, and the fulfillment in the background. And what's really nice, uh, like I just mentioned, is Printull can also connect directly to Etsy as well. And so if you wanted to take advantage of Etsy's traffic while also building your own standalone brand at the same time, you can do both while keeping the fulfillment process mostly automated behind the scenes. Then from here, you'll want to quickly set up your payment processor so that uh people can actually buy the t-shirts on your site. To do this, click on settings and then click payments. And you'll want to connect Stripe and PayPal. You'll have to create accounts for both if you don't already have them, but both of these tools are free. Then you'll just want to spend a little bit of time going through some of the other settings here just to make sure that everything on your store is set up exactly the way that you want. But once everything is set up and you've got, you know, t-shirt products added to your Printull account, those products will automatically be pushed to your store and your Etsy shop, it's time to actually officially publish your online store. So to do that, you'll click up here on open horizons and then click publish to officially publish your store.
Now, at this point, we've got products to sell. We've got, you know, our Etsy shop and our storefront set up. But there is still one very important step that most beginners completely overlook. A huge reason certain print on demand stores perform well uh is not because of the designs themselves. It's because the product presentation looks good. And so this means the mockups look clean, the product photos feel realistic, and everything just kind of feels polished. And this is important because when somebody is scrolling through Etsy or even browsing your own storefront, they're usually making split-second decisions. Okay? And so even if your design is decent on your t-shirt or whatever product you're selling, bad presentation can absolutely kill the product. Now, technically, Printull already has built-in mock-ups you can use automatically, which is great for getting products live quickly, but personally, I think one of the easiest ways to instantly make your store look more professional is by using higher quality lifestyle mockups instead. And honestly, from my research, this is what most of the successful Etsy print on demand stores are doing. So, what I usually recommend doing is going into Etsy and searching for something like comfort colors mockup pack or t-shirt Canva mockup bundle. And when you search for these types of things, you'll find these massive bundles for like $5 to $15 that come with hundreds of lifestyle mockups in dozens of different themes. And the reason these mock-ups work so well is because they make the product feel more real instead of looking like some flat generic product image. It actually looks like something a real person would wear. So once you buy one of these packs, they'll usually give you a Canva link. Then inside Canva, the process is honestly super simple. Okay, you just open up the mockup template, click on the design placeholder area, upload the PNG design file that we generated with Claude, drag it into the shirt area, resize it if needed, and Canva will automatically place it onto the product. And what's nice is that once you get a workflow going, this becomes really fast because now we can generate designs in bulk with Claude, upload them into Canva mockups, export the product photos, sync the products into Printull for the fulfillment, and then publish everything onto Etsy and our own storefront.
But even after that, there is still one really important piece left. How do we actually get people to find these products? Because even if you have amazing designs and you have amazing product photos, if nobody ever sees your listings, it doesn't really matter. And this is where product listings and SEO starts becoming incredibly important. At the end of the day, whether somebody is searching on Etsy or even searching through Google and landing on your own storefront, these platforms are all heavily driven by search. People are typing in things like funny fishing shirt or a gift for dog mom or retro Halloween t-shirt. And Etsy or Google is trying to figure out which products is most relevant based on that search. And so the better your listing is optimized for those searches, the more chances you have of your products actually getting discovered. Now, luckily, as you may have already guessed, this is another area where AI can help us a lot. Here's the thing, okay? You don't need to guess what people are searching for because Etsy is already showing you what's working. So, one of the smartest things you can do is actually find a few listings that are already performing really well in your niche and then feed those directly into Claw. So, for example, let's say that we created some kind of like, I don't know, a funny Christmas sweater design. What I would do is find maybe three or four successful Christmas sweater listings on Etsy that already have tons of reviews and sales. Then I can paste those titles directly into Claude and say something like analyze the structure and keyword patterns used in these successful Etsy listings. Then generate an SEO optimized Etsy title, tags, and product description for my Christmas sweater design. And now instead of randomly having to guess what the title should be or like you know what the keywords should be, Claude starts helping us reverse engineer the actual SEO patterns that successful stores are already using. And in a matter of seconds, Claude will now give us optimize product titles, Etsy tags, keyword phrases, and even a product description. And once you start to get this workflow going, this all becomes insanely fast, right? Because now instead of spending 20 to 30 minutes writing every single product listing manually, you can just generate most of the listing structure in seconds with claw. And honestly, this is another area where you know scale becomes really important because if you eventually have hundreds or even thousands of products, having to manually write the titles, descriptions, tags, and SEO for every single one of those products becomes a massive time sync. But now Claude can help automate a huge portion of that repetitive work.
And honestly, I think this is the part that most people are underestimating right now with AI because this isn't really just about print on demand. The big shift happening right now is that AI is starting to remove huge amounts of friction from starting businesses online. Like think about everything that we just walked through in this video. A few years ago, building something like this would require design skills, website skills, some copywriting skills. You would need to have some SEO knowledge. You would need to understand how to do product research, and you would have to spend hours and hours doing repetitive manual work. But now, one person can do a huge percentage of that workflow with AI assistance. And again, okay, this doesn't mean that AI is just going to magically build a successful business for you overnight. This is not a get-richqu scheme. Like, you still need to have good ideas. You need to have consistency. You need to have good taste for what good designs actually look like. And you obviously need patience. But what AI is doing is it's dramatically lowering the barrier to actually starting. And I really do believe that we are still incredibly early with this AI stuff because most people are still using AI like it's just a chatbot. Meanwhile, the people who are going to win over the next few years are probably going to be the people who are learning how to use AI to build systems around whatever it is that they're working on.
