I share this morning the message titled "When You Are Destined for Greatness: 10 Vital Lessons You Need to Know." Take a test from Luke chapter 1, verse 13 to 17 (New Living Translation).
What is Divine Destiny? The destiny of a person is decided, planned, and written by God before the birth of the person. So, you have a book which God calls your "Book of Destiny" (Psalm 139:16). And in your Book of Destiny, God has decided on certain things that will happen in your lifetime. God has planned out certain things that are supposed to happen in your lifetime. And God has written it, and these have already been done before you were born. So, the Divine Destiny of a person is about seven things that God has already decided, and these things are supposed to happen within the lifetime of that person.
In Ecclesiastes chapter 6, verse 10 (New Living Translation), he says, "Everything has already been decided." What will happen in your 30s, in your 40s, in your 50s, in your 60s, in your 70s has already been planned out by God, and it is written down in your Book of Destiny. Ecclesiastes 6:10 says, "Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person, each person, each person would be." So, there is no use arguing with God about your destiny.
In Psalm 139, verse 16 (Psalm 139:16 Contemporary English Version), "But with your own eyes you saw my body being formed. Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything I would do." God has a plan for your life, and may God's plan for your life be fulfilled.
In Jeremiah chapter 1, verses 4 to 5, we read about the destiny of the Prophet Jeremiah from the Good News Translation. He says, "The Lord said to me, 'I chose you before I gave you life and before you were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nations.'" There is something God has chosen you for. There is something God has selected you for. There are assignments that God has ordained that you will fulfill in your lifetime. And I pray that in this new season of your life, there will be a clear discovery. Can that man or woman say a better amen to the Lord?
There are some notable things you must be aware of when it comes to Divine Destiny. First, Your Divine Destiny is what God has written about your lifetime on Earth in his Book of Destiny. Number two, it's about God's original plan for your life. What eventually happens in the lives of many people on the surface of the Earth is different from what God originally planned for them. For instance, there was a man called Samson. The last phase of his life was different from what God had planned for him. So, your Divine Destiny is about God's original plan for your life. It's about God's original purpose for your life. May what God has in mind for you for this time and season be made clear to you in the name of Jesus.
And number three, to receive in your lifetime on Earth. I say to someone here by the spirit of God that you have come to a time of your life when you will receive something significant from God. Can you expectantly say a proper amen to the Lord? Number four, Your Divine Destiny includes what God has ordained you to become in life. In Matthew chapter 2, verse 2, the wise men that traveled down from the East will ask, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews?" Because your star will reveal the ultimate phase of your Divine Destiny. Therefore, "we have seen his star and we have come to worship Him." What you will become in life is written by God in your Divine Destiny.
Number five, it's about your Divine mission in life. That is why you were not born earlier. We all have a mission, and your time on Earth is connected to certain events that God has planned to happen at that time. So, this is the time that you are relevant in God's plan in the events on the surface of this Earth. That is why you are alive at this time. It's about your Divine mission in life. It's about certain things God has assigned you. You were assigned by God to do later in life. And to someone listening to me, that time has come for you to do what God has prepared you to do. You will excel in that assignment. You will succeed in that assignment. It's about your Divine assignment. It's about God's agenda for your life. It's about your ordained responsibility while on this Earth.
Number six, for some people, we could include discoveries. Discoveries that will be of great benefit to humanity. It could include inventions (Proverbs 25:2). It could include books that would be of great value to many people on the surface of this Earth. It's your contribution to the world, to this world. It is where you fit in in the Divine scheme of things. And this is, of course, it includes your Divine calling.
And number seven, is the factor of location. Some of the things that have been written in people's Divine Destiny have been predestined to happen in specific locations, specific cities, specific nations, specific continents of the world.
And number eight, is a time factor. Some aspects of your Divine Destiny are supposed to happen at a certain time here on Earth. Psalm 102, verse 13, "will someday always be fulfilled in the life of people of Destiny." Psalm 102:13 will tell us that "Thou shall arise and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favor her, yea, the set time." The time we have long waited for, the time and phase we have been prepared for. Yea, the set time has come. For someone listening to me right now, this is your set time. This is your set time. You will arise and shine. Those who stopped you in the past will not be able to stop you this time. Can that man say a powerful amen? Can that woman say a powerful amen? So, some of these things have been predestined by God to happen at a particular time. The particular time. Some things are supposed to start at a particular time, and some things are supposed to end at a particular time.
Ecclesiastes chapter 3, verse 1 (Contemporary English Version), it says, "Everything on Earth has its own time and its own season." There's a time for you. There's a season for you. Those who stopped your father will not be able to stop you.
Number nine, different parts of Divine Destiny can be revealed ahead of time. Different aspects of your Divine Destiny can be revealed ahead of time. And we've seen many instances where the Divine Destiny of a person was revealed ahead of time. In biblical times, men like Samson, King Cyrus, John the Baptist (Judges chapter 13:2-5, John the Baptist, Luke 1:13-17). Certain aspects of their Divine Destiny was revealed even before they were born, and those things actually came to pass.
And number 10, please take note of this: Divine Destiny can be altered. Divine Destiny can be altered. Most aspects of Divine Destiny are not bound to happen. They are not irreversible. They can be changed. They can be stopped from happening. And that's not to emphasize the error of the concept of fatalism. Fatalism is a belief that what will be, will be. That's a big error, and no Christian should ever accept such a wrong concept. Because fatalism suggests that you have no control over your actions, over your fate, over your future, and that is completely wrong. Take note that Divine Destinies can be successfully hindered. There's a battle to fight in your journey in life. You have to pray for many things that God has written down to come to pass. And that's why when our Lord Jesus Christ came, in Matthew chapter 6, as he was teaching on how to pray, he said, "Pray in this manner: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven." As it is in heaven includes what God has written in your Divine Destiny. But you have to be very, very sensitive to some of the insights. The dynamics of a fulfilled destiny. Divine Destiny can be hindered. It can be delayed. It can be altered. It can be swapped. It can be given to someone else. What God has ordained, they can be given to someone else. It can be rejected, even by the beneficiary. It can be set aside. It can be abandoned. It can be stopped completely. Even God can subsequently change or replace someone he had initially chosen. God can refuse to do what he had initially promised he would do.
In Jeremiah chapter 18, verses 7 to 10 (Jeremiah 18:7-10 Amplified Bible), it says, "At one moment I might suddenly speak concerning a nation or kingdom that I will approach and break down and destroy. If that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will repent and reverse my decision concerning the devastation I'd intended to do." Because of your salvation and your commitment and service, whatever could have hindered your paternal family, the Lord changes it for good in the name of Jesus. Verse 9 and 10, he says, "Or at another time I might suddenly speak out about a nation or a kingdom that I would build or establish, and if they do evil in my sight by not obeying my voice, then I will reverse my decision." Are you seeing the scripture? He said, "Then I will reverse my decision concerning the good which I had promised to bless them." I pray you will never lose your blessings. I pray you will never be replaced.
Many have gone out of this world without becoming what they had the potential to become. Some did not even believe it could happen, so it did not happen. Proverbs 23:7 will tell us that "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." There are some things that if you don't believe and accept that God can do it through you, it will not eventually happen. God isn't going to force you if you wouldn't accept his plan and assignment and purpose for your life. And so, I said to someone here again by the spirit of God that by the grace of God, you will be the head and not the tail. God will take you to the very top. God will make you a role model in the name of Jesus.
I close with the 10 lessons on Divine Destiny. One, God is the only one that decides what will be written in someone's destiny. God is the only one that decides. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. They alone decide what will be written in someone's destiny. However, and this is good news here, take note of this: however, God can consider the heart desire of a parent, the heart desire of someone, in deciding the destiny of an unborn child. An example was in 1 Samuel chapter 1, verses 9 to 20. Hannah prayed and made a vow that if only God will give her a son, that's your word, commit this son unto service in God's house and temple. God answered that prayer, and the fruit of that prayer was a man called Samuel, whom God anointed in the process of time to become one of the most outstanding national prophets of Israel.
Number two, you have the responsibility to discover Your Divine Destiny. You have the responsibility to discover it and pursue its fulfillment to the optimum. You have the responsibility. Number three, some of your potential achievements in life would initially appear impossible. So, please, to someone right now, the spirit is saying, don't be discouraged by initial setbacks. Don't be discouraged by initial failed attempts. If God has truly ordained that thing to be attained in life, his grace will be upon you, and you will eventually win. So, you need to believe it. There is need for strong determination. There is need also for persistence (Proverbs 18:21, especially from the Living Bible).
Lesson number four, Divine Destiny can be prevented from fulfillment by spiritual forces. Divine Destiny can be prevented from fulfillment by spiritual forces, spiritual attacks, spiritual arrows, spiritual manipulations. I am hearing right now in the spirit, God is saying to someone listening to me, pray for your children. Pray for your children. Divine Destiny can be prevented from fulfillment by spiritual forces, spiritual attacks, spiritual manipulations.
Number five, Divine Destiny can be prevented from fulfillment by people. By people. It can be prevented from fulfillment by people. Never underestimate the human factor. So, you need to always relate well with people. Relate well to the best of your ability. Relate well, even strangers. Some of you have encountered angels and you never knew that was an angel. And some of you are going to encounter angels in the days ahead, and you will not know they are angels.
Number six, some aspects of Divine Destiny must be kept secret, or else it can be sabotaged by people or spiritual forces. Be wise. Be discerning. Learn from the mystics of the past. Your breakthrough empowerment will disturb certain people. Where God wants to take you to, who will not be deterred? Can I tell you this? Many of the things God has planned should happen are supposed to happen as a surprise. If people find out before it happens, it can be sabotaged. And this is the reason why many dreams and prophecies did not eventually come to pass.
Lesson number seven, Divine Destiny can be prevented from fulfillment even by the ordained recipients or beneficiaries, because you have to believe what God has in mind for you.
Lesson number eight, for the fulfillment of Destiny to be guaranteed, you have to obey and follow God's instruction. You have to obey and follow God's instruction. That's the key. That's the key. And the instructions are going to be coming at different times. Obey and follow his approach. Obey and follow his conditions. His conditions. Obey and follow his warnings. And obey and follow his timing.
Lesson number nine, to close, Divine Destiny has to be activated into reality by taking relevant steps and actions at the right time. Not only spiritual steps. They are basic steps to success in life. You have to activate those steps to success in life, and you have to do it at the right time.
And the last one, you must make adequate and timely preparation for Destiny to be fulfilled. You have to make adequate and timely preparation. And this is the reason why certain revelations are given well ahead of time, well ahead of time, so you have so much time to prepare.
