Is Obsidian Better Than RAG Now?

Should you be using Rag or should you be using Obsidian with your cloud code projects?

Well, the answer is you probably should be using Obsidian. And here's why.

For most people, Rag, while awesome, is just completely overkill. Unless you have something that you're working on that has thousands and thousands of documents that you need to call upon and get answers about, Obsidian is probably more than enough, especially if we're just dealing with basic text markdown files. because until you're at a crazy scale, Obsidian will work just fine for you.

And on top of that, it's infinitely easier to set up and it's free. You can always move to a rag system if your system gets too large, but at the beginning, just stick with Obsidian. And if you need to shift a rag, it's going to be pretty obvious.
