My name is Dr. Muhammad Osman. I am the National Economic Advisor to the President of Somalia and a member of the National Economic Council.
I'm also very involved and active in climate and environment in Somalia and also across the continent. I'm really excited today that I am inside of the premises and the headquarters of the Africa Climate Summit and in particular to see and visit the great work, uh, of the Africa Climate Assembly, Africa Africa Youth Climate Assembly organizers.
I'm excited to meet them and hear the the wonderful leadership and coordination they are doing in terms of mobilizing and bringing together ideas, resources, people across from across the continent. We are really looking to participate as we have only seven days left to go to, you know, to the right of the summit.
I'm really excited, and from Somalia's perspective, we are really excited. Climate is something we really see as multi-dimensional, affecting our health, our economy, our security, and our prosperity. And I think youth being really taking the leadership role as policy influencers, as innovators, as organizers, as coordinators, I think is really crucial.
And I really encourage somebody has joined the credit green one initiative and and I was part of the team that was working and and I'm really excited that that Somali youth would also be participating in this great conference. And we look forward to really seeing the African youth talent, you know, exhibitions and capacity ideas and really thankful to the organizers of these of the African Climate Assembly.
So my message to the participants and in particular the African youth that would be gathering soon, you know, in seven days' time in this great city of Nairobi is to really come with the ambition and the mission to ask for what they can do for their continent, what they can do for the continent, not the other way around. So our continent needs us, our our African people need us, and we are the the the current, the present, and the future leaders of this continent.
So I look forward that you all come with a clear vision and clear objectives in things what you can contribute, what you can support, but you can change, what you can influence. That's my message. And I'm sure as we wind up this climate conference, uh, the the climate, the youth summit, which is a precursor of the main climate summit, we hope that the youth will initiate a strong message that will set the tone for the bigger climate summit of the delegates and the heads of state and hopefully the subsequent climate conferences that will happen in the near future. Thank you so much.
