Apple just released iOS 27 beta 1, and there are a lot more features than you think, and there's a lot more to it than just AI. So, I'm going to be showing you more than 200 new features and changes found in iOS 27 beta 1.

Okay, so first off, iOS 27 is going to be a major stability and refinement update, but also with major new AI features and more. And what I mean by stability and refinement is that everything is faster. Literally everything. Apps launch up to 30% faster. New photos load in your camera roll up to 70% faster after you take them. And sharing photos via AirDrop is up to 80% faster.

Okay, so let's get down to business and talk about everything else new in iOS 27. And a lot of these you've probably not seen anywhere else. So, first off, we're going to have iOS 26 on the left throughout this video, iOS 27 on the right.

Okay, so let's start at the lock screen. The very first thing you'll see after you install iOS 27 and take a look at the difference in the clock on iOS 27. Now, this is not default. You will have to change this, but take a look at how minimal and small and clean that time looks up there right next to the date. So, to get that, you just long press and go to customize and go ahead and tap on the clock. So, when you see it like this, you just simply, you know, tap on that from this view and then you will see this pop-up right here where we have font and color. And you'll notice that on iOS 26, there was nothing in the upper right hand corner. But on iOS 27, we have this little two bar icon here. And when you tap on that, that's what puts the time into that little slot up there at the top of your device to the left of the date. So that's going to give you a really clean look.

But what if you're playing music? That kind of takes away from the minimalist style of that new clock format. But you could actually now also remove and hide the now playing bar. So when you're playing music, you can actually swipe over to hide that and clear it just like a notification. So now you can continue playing music while having a clean and minimal lock screen.

You can also now extend your wallpaper from the wallpaper screen. So before in iOS 26, if you pinch like this, it would just say wallpaper extended, but that was kind of the extent of it. But now in iOS 27, you can see you can kind of zoom out and you can see it will say extend. And now when you tap on that, it will extend the wallpaper using AI.

This update also fixes one of the most annoying things on the lock screen, and that is that now with iOS 27, your device will stay awake while scrolling through notifications. You've probably been there before on previous versions where you're scrolling through your notifications and your device just locks because you haven't fully unlocked it yet. That is no longer the case. Now, if you're scrolling through notifications, your device will stay awake.

Okay, so let's go into the home screen because we also have some changes here on the home screen. And we're going to start by long pressing on the home screen. And take a look up in the upper right and left corners. We have two new glyph icons. So instead of saying edit before, we now have a paintbrush in the top left. And in the top right, instead of saying done, we have a check mark.

And if you go to add a widget, you'll notice that we can now make these full screen. So before, that was the largest you can make a widget in iOS 26. But in iOS 27, check this out. You can extend it to be the entire screen of your home screen. So, if you want to have a really big widget of the top songs, you can do that. And it's not just for music. You could do this with other widgets that are supported as well.

Also, for the home screen, we can now add the Apple TV remote. So, if you go to the app library and you search for remote, you will see it right there, and we can add that to our home screen. So, if you are somebody with an Apple TV, it's nice to know that we can now have the remote on our home screen.

iOS 27 also has a slightly different battery icon than on iOS 26. So you might see it slightly with battery percentage enabled, but you'll definitely be able to tell the difference with battery percentage disabled. So check it out on the right hand side. And as the battery gets lower, you'll see throughout this video, you will be able to see more of the gray filled in, whereas on iOS 26, it was white behind the battery.

In the control center, we have a couple of changes in here. So, first off, if you go to the timer in your control center, you'll see that instead of opening up the timers application like I did before, we have this really slick, really nice little timer here that pops out of the dynamic island and you have this little scroll bar here where you can choose the length of time for your timer and it's accompanied with some really nice and really, you know, satisfying haptic feedback. And I think a lot of people are going to be happy about this one.

So, in the control center, you can also now change the size of the connectivity platter. So, what I mean is that before this was the default and the only other option was to make it pretty much full screen. Actually, not pretty much. It is full screen. But now with iOS 27, check this out. We can expand it a little bit and then we have all these toggles just like we had to manually do last year with iOS 26. We'd have to put all these on top of each other, but now you can just expand the default connectivity platter to make it like that. And of course, if you wanted to make it full screen, you could also do that. You have different size options now for the connectivity platter, which is really nice. Something I will absolutely be changing on my device.

Now, also with focus modes, you can now make these one by one. So, you can have it just be a little icon down there instead of being large and kind of like this, you know, two by two right here.

Okay, so iOS 27 might confuse a lot of people because it changes a fundamental gesture that we've known for quite some time now, for years, and that is the fact that you can pull down from the top middle to pull down and see your notification center. But that is no longer the case with iOS 27. If you pull down from the middle now, you could see it will open up the new Siri or in other words, the search or ask, which is also spotlight search. It's all kind of all in one now. And we'll get to that in a moment. The point is that now you can no longer swipe from the top middle to get to the notification center. You have to go all the way to the left here. I shouldn't say all the way. That's a little bit dramatic, but you have to stay on the left side to get to that notification center. You can't do it from the dynamic island anymore like you used to be able to.

And by the way, going into the settings real quick, I did just want to mention this. So, you might see indexing in progress on your iOS 27 device. That is because your phone will have to process everything and kind of index through all of the files before it's fully ready and everything populates as it should. So, that is nothing new. We've had indexing on iPhones ever since the beginning, but now we have a new little dialogue box here to tell us that our indexing is in progress, which is really nice to have.

There's also a new animation for screenshots. So, if we go ahead and take a screenshot here, first off, you'll see a couple of differences. So, we have the more liquid glass up here behind the markup tool and the share button right there. But, if we go ahead out, you'll see on iOS 26, if we go out, it just kind of goes right out. There's really no animation to it. But in iOS 27, if we do that, you can see there's kind of a slow fade out. And by the way, if you go into the dialogue box up here in the upper right hand corner, you can see that it's now a light color instead of being dark.

iOS 27 also changes the way notifications come in. There's a slightly new animation and they come in from the left of the screen. So you can see there's a different animation when it comes in from the left and also when the notification goes away. It goes off to the left instead of just straight up top.

There's also a new 1% battery alert. So if your phone gets down to 1% battery on iOS 27, you'll now get a new alert for that.

Okay, so we cannot go any further without talking about the new Siri and Siri AI because this is the biggest change ever to Siri and really one of the biggest changes fundamentally to iOS ever.

Okay, so let's start with the basics because if you go ahead and long press on the side button right here, you'll see that we have a new Siri indicator. So before we had this kind of animation all around the screen where you can see that glow, which was actually really nice, but now it's a lot more simplified and it comes out of the dynamic island right here in iOS 27. And if you go into your settings and go into Siri, you will see that we now have Siri beta right here. So now you not only get to choose your voice, we've been able to do that for a while now, but we also have expressive voices preview. And it says an early preview of more natural expressive voices powered by a new on-device model. So now Siri is also going to sound a lot more expressive and a lot less like a robot like we had before. And what's cool is that you could also customize the pace and the expressivity of Siri. So you could choose between two different voices right here and you'll hear like kind of a preview of them when you tap on it. This does not appear to be active in beta 1, but with future betas you will be able to control the pace and the expressivity of your Siri voice.

But let's get to the good stuff. And I'm actually going to compare this to iOS 26 as well. It's not really even a comparison whatsoever because iOS 27 has personal context. It has on-screen awareness and it can perform actions inside of applications. And I'm going to talk about every single one of those here in a moment. But let's start by asking something that iOS 26 will for sure not be able to do. Actually, let's do something that it should be able to do, but it can't. Set four timers 15 minutes apart starting at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. Boom. Look at that. iOS 27 was able to do that perfectly. It set those timers 15 minutes apart, whereas you saw what iOS 26 did. And it did literally nothing of use at all.

But let's get to the more sophisticated stuff. And iOS 26 doesn't even stand a chance for this. So, I'm going to just set this to the side because with iOS 27, we have personal context. And this is where things get really interesting and really amazing with Siri. So, let me ask something like this. When did my dad say that they were planning to leave again? And when I ask something like that, it's going to search within my messages, within my emails, within everything on my device to try to reference when my dad said that they were leaving. So, you can see it says they're planning to leave at 4:30ish.

Where are they planning to leave to and who are they with? Okay, what kind of party is it? Look at my calendar and see if I've been to any parties in the last couple of years. So, check that out. I was able to go into my calendar and reference any type of parties that I had recently. So, it shows those right there. And I could actually tap on them and go into them if I would like to. And you can see this really cool animation right here. And something else you'll see that's cool in iOS 27 is they could pull down on this to expand that view and ask follow-up questions if you want to type them, talk to them, or you could tap on this little arrow up in the upper right hand corner and that will open up in the Siri application. Yes, we have a standalone Siri application now in iOS 27.

My mom mentioned a Samsung phone a long time ago. Can you tell me what model it was? And you can see right there it says that my mom was talking about the Samsung A14. But check this out. We could also do something really cool. So, if you come across a place that looks amazing on Instagram and you're really wondering where it was because I didn't say it in the caption or in the comments, watch this. Where is this located? So, you can see that just using on-screen awareness, Siri was able to tell me what I'm looking at on my screen. And it says that that was PO Lake in B National Park. So, I can even go further again and use some of my personal context to ask a question like this. Was I ever there? And you can see it shows that yes, I was there in BA. And it shows me exactly the day. Okay, so it says October 2025 and it also shows me some photos from that trip as well as other stops in Vancouver. How cool is that?

Okay, so now let's go into the standalone Siri application. So there is a standalone application now for Siri. And this is very much like ChatGPT where you can have back and forth conversations with Siri. You can revisit old conversations and continue asking questions about it, you know, when it already has the context in that conversation and more. So let's just start with something from scratch. And when you're in the application, by the way, you can also tap right here in this little text field. And if you go to ask, you can change this from Siri to ChatGPT. So you could also still use ChatGPT inside of the Siri application as long as you tap on that and choose it. You also have this plus over here to the left where you can attach files, photos, and camera where you can have, you know, Siri reference from there. And then right here, we also have a voice mode. So, you can now talk to Siri in voice mode and it will respond in voice mode as well. Again, just like something we'd see in ChatGPT.

Okay. So, I just asked Siri to pull up photos from a recent trip to California, but it pulled up some old ones, too. I only want to see the photos from the past couple of weeks. Can you add all of those to an album called WWDC 2026? So, you can see right here, it will give me the option to continue. If I tap on continue, it says, "Do you want to add 25 items to that album?" And I confirmed it. And now it added those 25 photos to a new album called WWDC 2026. So it was able to perform an action inside of photos without me ever even going into the photos application. So that's just one example of actions inside of applications. We could also do more.

I like this song. Can you add it to a playlist called Country? And you can see we'll add that to an album right there. It's performing an action inside of an application. So super cool stuff.

Now, I did also want to talk about the Siri application as well because there is something really interesting about the Siri application. So, first off, when you're in here, you do also have this option up in the top right hand corner where you can change from a grid view or a list view. I actually really like the grid view. I think it looks really good. You can search for previous conversations, like anything that was said in a previous conversation, you can search for it right there. And also, if we go into our settings for Siri and then go into the app section right here, if you go into this, this allows you to open to a new conversation. So, if you don't want it to open up to this page right here, if you'd rather just start a new conversation every time you open up Siri, you can change that right there. Also, keep conversations. If you're somebody who's worried about, you know, your data being used to train AI and things like that, you can set that to only keep your conversations for 30 days, 1 year, or forever.

So, I just asked about what the price of a Mac Mini is these days. And you can see on iOS 26, it kind of just gave me some web results from Reddit and things like that. Whereas on iOS 27, it actually gave me, you know, it's saying that it's using 100% recycled gold plating and it starts around $799. So, I don't know where it got gold from. Maybe it misunderstood what I said, but you could see basically the point is that it has broad world knowledge. So, iOS 27, the Siri AI is able to reference online information to give you detailed, up-to-date insights, whereas you just simply don't get that in iOS 26.

I want to buy a used iPhone 14 on eBay. How much are they going for over there? Once again, you can see when I ask about buying a used iPhone, those are the results.

And if we go into the camera application, we also have a brand new option here for Siri. So, what used to be visual intelligence, which you had to hold right here on the camera control access, that is now located inside of the camera application as its own dedicated spot right here. But it also gains some really cool new features. Let me show you.

Okay, so let's say you're in a grocery store and you pick up an item and you're not really sure if it's healthy or not. You read through the ingredients, but you're still kind of unsure if it's healthy. Well, with iOS 27, you can get a better idea by simply scanning it with visual intelligence with the Siri right here inside the camera application. So, you'll see that it will pop up right down here on the bottom. If it does not or if you miss it, you could always just tap to take a photo of that food item. And you'll see that right here we have look up nutrition. It pops up automatically. If we tap on that, you can see it will load the nutrition data. And check this out. It will show the nutritional value on a sliding scale. So, it's basically going to rate this food item whether it's healthy or not healthy. So, this one is relatively healthy. It's almost the very top for very high. So, it says that processing is minimally processed. Fiber is a good source. So, it doesn't give you the most information. It does also tell you more about it right here. It's not going to be as in-depth as something like the Yuka app or anything like that, but it is a really great way to just pull out your phone, scan it, and see the nutrition value just like that. And it's built in to the camera app, which is pretty neat. And if you're curious about the nutritional data, you can go ahead and tap on the I right here, and it will give you some more information about it and some insights here as well. And by the way, when you're in this view, you could also tap on this little grid right here to search for Google, eBay, and TikTok. So, if you want to find TikToks about those food items, you can see it actually does a really good job as well of showing TikTok videos referencing that food item, which I've actually used before. And if you want to continue to have a conversation about this, you could also tap on the little chat icon right here. It could ask more information about this with Siri and have a conversation.

You could also now split a bill using visual intelligence and the new Siri AI. So, check this out. If I go and scan this right here, this is a receipt. If I scan that, check this out. It's automatically going to detect that it is a receipt. And it says right there, split bill with Apple Cash. So, it also gives you the phone number and things like that. But if we go to this right here, split bill with Apple Cash. Check this out. So, it keeps that picture and it goes into the Apple Wallet application. And from here, it says split bill for Nou, eight items. So, it detects that there's eight items. It knows it's for Nou. And now I can request or pay my share. So, if I go to request, we choose our contact. And you can see that right here, it shows confirm items and amount. So, it's able to pick up everything that's on there. So, the Dr. Lucen is $60, Jalapeno, $20, and so on. And it shows how many of each item and everything. So, from here, it shows down here if you want to add a tip, you can. You also have the option to split evenly right here. And you could choose how many people. So, all of that is right there. And then you can send the request for Apple Cash straight from this interface.

There's also updates to image playground in iOS 27. So, first off, you can see the app icon has a new look, a completely new look than what it was on iOS 26. And when we go into the application, it's more of a light mode now instead of a dark mode. And there was a yellow button at the bottom that said new image. Now there's just a white button that says just a plus. There's no text there. If we tap on that, you can see we have a whole new interface here as well to describe an image. So now you can describe an image that you want image playground to create. And if you go to any style right here, you can choose exactly what you wanted to create. So an animation, illustration, sketch, or Genmoji. So let's say I want to create a knight on a mountain wearing a red helmet and a vest. And we can choose our style right here. Or you could just go like this. And you could also reference photos, people, or if you tap on this, you could also choose the size of the image because you could also create wallpapers using just a description. I'll show that in a moment. We'll just stick with square for this one. We'll go ahead and start. And you can see it will start creating that image. So check that out. You can see the image it creates and it's definitely a good bit better than anything we saw on previous versions of iOS like iOS 26. So you can describe a change if you want to continue with that. You can also tap on this if you want to make other changes.

I'm going to change this to wallpaper right away. A space themed wallpaper that's very clean and minimal. Okay. So you can see that's what it created. I didn't really give it a lot to work with, but you can see kind of it shows it as a wallpaper and you can even set it as a wallpaper straight from here. It will take you straight to the wallpaper interface.

Now, the writing tools have also gotten much better in iOS 27. So, before on iOS 26 with writing tools, you know, you had this little icon down here in the bottom and you had basically this little pop-up right here for writing tools. That's all you have. But now in iOS 27, it's basically all just built in to Siri now. So, you don't even have this panel right here anymore. You can't even access that in iOS 27, which I think is good because this was very confusing and it was kind of redundant in multiple areas. But let me show you how this works in iOS 27. So, we just simply tap right here, you'll see that we have this Siri icon. If we tap on that, that will give us the option to just say what we want to say and do what we want to do. So, I'll say this. Write a story about a big bad wolf who got into a fight with the barbarians over his house. There you go. So, I just asked that straight into Siri. This is not writing tools necessarily anymore. And check this out. It will use that to create something for me. And it says, I've written the story about the big bad wolf. And you can see that it will have that written right here inside of the Notes application. Pretty awesome.

Now, if we head into our settings and go to the brand new appearance section right here, we have liquid glass. And this is actually going to give you a slider. So, you can tweak the intensity of liquid glass on your device. So, whether you want it to be more of a frosted look or more of a liquid glass look, you can now set that to be custom based on your liking.

If we head into our Wi-Fi settings, you can see that we now have Wi-Fi type. So, it's going to show exactly the type of Wi-Fi that you're currently using. So, you can see I'm using Wi-Fi 7 and it shows 802.11BE.

Now, also here in the Wi-Fi settings, we have an interesting new change called connectivity assist. So, this uses cellular data in addition to Wi-Fi for a more reliable internet connection. So, this is actually a great feature. And some people thought this is the same as Wi-Fi assist, but it's not. This works so much better than Wi-Fi assist ever did. So, anytime you're like going out of the driveway, you know how you disconnect from your Wi-Fi, but it still tries to hang on by one bar and nothing loads and you eventually just have to turn off Wi-Fi to get on LTE. Well, with this feature turned on, you don't have to do that anymore because again, it uses LTE and Wi-Fi together. That way, you know, if it detects that you have a really slow connection, it's going to intervene with that LTE signal and get you connected.

Apple also says that personal hotspots on N1 devices are now more power efficient. So, if your device has the N1 modem inside.

Now, if we go into our settings, general, and date and time, you'll notice that we have set time zone automatically. Before, it just said set automatically. Now, it says set time zone automatically. And it shows time zone and then time zone city. And then also set time automatically down here. So, you now have the option to set the time and the time zone automatically. So, if you don't want to change the time zone automatically, you can turn that off. That way, your time stays the same even when you're traveling to other cities or countries.

Now, let's head into the camera application because there's a very obvious change right away when you go into camera. So, take a look up top. We have a brand new interface up there where we have our formats and our shared library right there front and centered. Whereas before we had it over to the left-hand side and we had the little menu, the three dot menu or I guess six dot menu over there in the upper left hand corner before. Now that's down here in the bottom right. You'll also see that the macro option right there is now down in line with where the shutter button is instead of being aligned with the zoom ranges right there.

Now, you'll see another big difference when you tap on the menu right here. So, if we tap on that in iOS 26, you can see we only had six options right there, but there's a lot more in iOS 27. And this is great because that means you won't have to go into settings to change things like the grid and the level. So, before you could only access those by going into the settings and turning them on or off. Now you could do it right here. And also now when you tap on the format up top, it opens up the dialogue box in the bottom now. It's so it's more of a it matches up more with the design of camera and it's also down here at the bottom whereas before it kind of opened up there and you had to really do hand gymnastics to reach that. So now it's more accessible. It's easier to reach down here in the bottom middle. And of course we do have the new Siri mode which I mentioned earlier.

Now also if we go over to video you'll see the differences up here as well. And they look a lot cleaner in video because you can see there's no black overlay over them. And it's kind of the same thing. We have more options down here as well, like the grid and the level. And everything opens up in the bottom now, whereas before it opened up in at the top.

Now, also in iOS 27, Apple says that there's going to be smoother camera switching when zooming in on videos. So maybe sometimes if you zoomed and it wasn't as smooth as you would like, that should be improved. Here with iOS 27.

We have a few changes in the Photos application. So, if you go to Photos and go down to Utilities and swipe over, you'll see that we have something I've been wanting for quite some time now, and that is captured by me. So, this is a new option where when you select that, it's only going to show photos and videos that you captured. It's not going to include screenshots. It's not going to include imported photos, shared with you photos, anything like that. These are only going to be photos that you shot yourself. And then there's also identity documents. So, this is going to include things like passports, licenses, and any type of documents. So, it's going to identify those and put those in its own album.

Also, when you go into a photo and you tap on the three dots, you'll see some changes here. So, copy, duplicate, and hide are now in their own section up in the upper right hand corner, whereas before they were just individual different options right there. We also have show in all photos right here. And then we have the add to and adjust info right there. Before these are all just kind of spaced out and very vague. Now you can see add to and you could it expands out and shows you could add to an album, new shared album and all of that. And then adjust info is where you can adjust the date and time or the location. And then you have don't feature this person and ask Siri. You'll also notice that you cannot delete from this menu anymore. Before you could delete, now the most you could do is just hide from this menu.

And if you swipe up on a photo, there are quite a few changes here. So first off, you can see that add a caption was the first thing before. Now that's moved down here. We have add to calendar. So you could add this as an event into your calendar. It's going to take the date right there and even detected WWDC to do that right there, which is pretty neat. We also have ask Siri and also image search. So you can search an image straight from pulling up on a photo and this will search for Google, TikTok, and eBay. So if you want to cross reference a photo to see where else it appears, you can do that right there. Also, this whole metadata section just looks so much cleaner and more modern than iOS 26. It honestly makes iOS 26 look outdated, which is kind of crazy. So, just take a look at the date where it shows the phone model. Everything just looks cleaner right there. If you go down to the very bottom, we also have add keywords. You can now add keywords to your photos as well, especially if you want to be able to search for, you know, something related to that photo. So, for example, I just put in Turnis as a keyword. So, now if I go to search for that, you can see it pops up for Turnis.

You'll also notice for videos, we now have a captions button. So you can now actually add captions to your videos that you shot yourself. And these are autogenerated. So you can see it shows English and also style one. So if you want to have it as style one, classic, large text, you can choose the styles right here. But you will have captions. So let me find one with somebody saying something. So here's what those captions look like on the video. So of course you can change that style, but that is what they look like.

Also on a video, if you tap on the three dots right here, you'll see that you will be able to save video frame as photo. So, if you tap on that, it's going to save that video frame as a photo. So, you can see right where I was in that video, it saved that as a photo. Kind of like what you could do when you're recording a video and you tap on that. If you don't get a chance to do that, now you can do it without having to screenshot.

When you select multiple photos in the Photos application, you can see that now at the bottom, it used to say nine items selected. Now, it shows show selected. And when you tap on that, it will show you all of the items that you have selected, which makes it much easier, especially if you're scrolling and you're going far into your photo library. You can see everything in one little screen here now. And you can also easily deselect them from here as well or deselect all. You also have this option up here to show these in a bigger view.

And if we head into our settings for Photos, we also have this option right here, which is sync immediately. So now you can sync to iCloud immediately just for the day. So, it shows 21 hours remaining and that it says that iCloud Photos will prioritize syncing as soon as new items enter your photo library. Because, as you're probably aware, it can take quite some time for your photos to sync because your phone needs to be charged up, needs to be on Wi-Fi, all these things need to happen for it to sync. But if you have this set to sync to iCloud immediately, it will prioritize those and get those into that iCloud library quicker.

Shared albums get a big upgrade with iOS 27 with a lot of different changes. So, first off, when you're on the main page right here, you'll see we have activity down here at the bottom. So, it's going to show you activity of anything that's been added in this shared album or if there's any reactions or anything like that, those will all show right there. Also, if we go to the filter down here in the bottom left hand corner, there are some changes here as well. So, you can see we now have glyph icons for oldest, newest, and dates added. We could also filter by media type. So, it shows photos and videos instead of before just showing it this way. So, it's a little bit different there. And we also have shared by. So you can filter by who shared what in that album. And then we also have our options down here as well.

Also up at the top of a shared album, you can see that we have these little people glyph icon. That's how you can manage the shared album. And you could also copy the album link right here. You have your sharing options. You could create a temporary album. So you can make this so that it expires after 30 days. If you only want to share a album for 30 days, you can do that now. And also, if you were to copy the album link and you go to sharing options, this is where you can choose who can access the shared album. So, you can have it to anyone with a link or only the people that you choose. And you could also have access requests.

And if we go into a photo inside of a shared album, you can see down here in the bottom right, it's easier to download now. So, there's a dedicated download button down here at the bottom. Now, also in the middle, you can see before it was just add a comment or like. Before, you only had two options. You could either like it or add a comment or both. But now you could see that we have the comment and we also have an emoji. So now you can react to images with an emoji, not just a like. You could choose any emoji on iOS. And if you tap on the dots up in the upper right hand corner, you also have an add to button right here where you can add this to another shared album, a new shared album, or save to library.

It's also easier to create a shared album now. Also in iOS 27, if you go to a regular album, you can see when you tap on the three dots, first off, add photos is the first option now instead of share. And then we also have create shared album right there. Before you could not do that. You'd have to go to share and go through a couple of options. Now it's very easy to create a shared album. And you get all the options right here as well. So much easier to do that. And you can change it to be temporary from there if you want as well. Also, when you go to the three dots, it used to say slideshow. But now it says start slideshow. And when you tap on that, there are some additional options down here at the bottom. You can see that we have a customize right here. We can change the transition, duration, and music and also loop. Before you had to tap on the three dots up top. Now it's just easier to access with the customize button down there at the bottom.

Shared albums have also been improved in iOS 27 because Android and Windows users can now join in and add photos to a shared album. And there's also full resolution sharing in shared albums.

Now, there's also a big change to cleanup. So, if you tap on the edit menu right here, you'll notice that we now have it no longer just says cleanup. It says tools. So, now when you go to that, we have three new tools in iOS 27 for photos. So, we have cleanup, extend, and reframe.

Now, everybody knows that cleanup was not very great in iOS 26, and that's because it was not a generative fill. It was more of a content-aware fill. So, it wasn't actually filling in gaps for things that was behind it. But now in iOS 27, it has generative capabilities. It uses generative AI. So now I could do something like select this bag down here that I'm holding and you can see how my leg is behind that. And now I'll show you what happens in 26 actually, just so you can get the point here. So if I select that bag in iOS 26, and I go to clean up. So if I go ahead and tap on that, take a look at what happens. It doesn't know, you know, it makes me look like I don't have a leg. It completely eliminated my leg from behind it because again it was not generative AI in iOS 26, but in iOS 27 it is. So now when I do that, it's going to clean up the photo and it's going to generate a leg behind me behind that bag even though I can't see it. And there you go. That is the end result. So it basically created a leg for me and it even matched up my shoes which is actually quite impressive. So cleanup is a lot better. Now, if you want to make it even better than by default, if you go up here to where it says auto, you can choose high quality instead of keeping it on auto and it may do a better job for you.

But what about the other one? So, let's talk about extend because this one is pretty neat. So, what it does is it allows you to extend a photo. So, if maybe you're too tight in and you really want to see more of the atmosphere or you want to move this to be like maybe me all the way over to the right and I want to generate something over here on this left hand side, I can do that and I can go ahead and tap on extend. And this uses the private cloud compute. So this requires an internet connection because it is cloud-based. But it's going to generate and kind of fill in these gaps and create that image, that part of the image for me. So let's see the results.

And then we have reframe. So this is actually my personal favorite because this allows you to change the composition of a photo after you shoot it, which is pretty neat. So I can turn this and make it look like the camera was higher or lower. And I can turn this as well. So if I turn it this way and I put the camera up higher, for example, check this out. I'm going to tap on reframe and it's going to generate in that part of the image and it's also going to reframe myself to make it look like this photo was taken from a completely different angle than it was originally. So take a look at that end result. So that is the original. That is the reframed version. So pretty crazy. It looks like two totally different photos and it did a pretty good job actually of you know filling in the gaps there. So, this looks a little bit wonky back here, but you know, it still looks pretty good given the fact that it just basically recreated that whole part of the image.

Now, let's head into the Music application. So, down at the bottom, you'll notice first off that the search has now rejoined all the other options down there in the menu before it was separated. The artist page has been completely redesigned in iOS 27. So, you can see it's a lot more immersive now. It reminds me a lot of the album artwork, the animated album artwork. So, we have the play right there in the middle and it's not red anymore. It's white. And we have the information and the favorite buttons down here on either side of them. Whereas before it was in the upper right hand corner. Also, it shows the upcoming album right here in this little box. Whereas before it was kind of just like this. It just really again makes iOS 26 look outdated. Essentials is smaller. Before it was this really massive box. Now it's just this small box right there. And then it gets down to the other. So it has top videos instead of music videos and a new layout for that as well. And if we go into our settings under library, we now have add and delete for playlist songs and for favorite songs. So it says deleting songs from your library will also remove them from those playlists. So that's a new feature there. And these are also now separated with their own individual descriptions.

If you go into your AirPods settings, we have a nice change here. So first off, you can see we have a little volume slider right here. So you can change the volume straight from the settings of AirPods. And if you go down, this is where things get much better. So, we not only have glyph icons to the left now to make it look more like the default settings app, like in the settings, but also everything is just more organized. So, before it's kind of just all over the place. Everything was just right here in your face, and you really just had to keep scrolling and reading everything. Now, it's more organized and grouped together. So, we have audio and routing, hearing, health, controls, and gestures, live translation, accessibility, and so on. So, all of those are nice. Makes it a lot easier. You can also see the about down here. You don't have to scroll nearly as far as you did before. But it gets much better because if we go into audio and routing, we have all of our things that we're used to in here. But take a look right here. We have equalizer because now with iOS 27, you're able to set a custom EQ. So by default, it's set to recommended. But if you go to custom, you can customize the EQ to your liking. So you can change the lows, the mids, and the highs. So I know myself and a lot of others have been wanting a custom EQ for the longest time for AirPods, and now it is finally here with iOS 27.

You can also tap on that play button right there to preview that, you know, EQ and see how it sounds for your taste.

Oh, and also I noticed with iOS 27 that when you go to install firmware updates, they update much faster than ever before. So, I've been installing AirPods updates for the longest time, for several years. But with iOS 27, it was by far the fastest I've ever actually had.

Heading into podcast, you can see down at the bottom again, we have the search combined into the navigation bar. It's not separated anymore like it was in iOS 26.

Now, if we go to the podcast page, let's just go to this one right here. Let's go to Diary of a CEO. You'll see a few differences right away. So, first off, take a look up in the upper right hand corner. So, we now have filtering. So, this is great. This is something I've been wanting for a while on podcast. So, we go up here and you can tap on this and you can filter by unplayed and played and also by downloaded. So, you could choose that right there or you could also do for subscribers or you can just do all episodes.

And then the best part is if you go down here to episodes and you tap on that, you're now able to search inside of this podcast for a specific episode or something in the transcript, anything like that. So I search for like chat GPT for example, it's going to search through all the podcasts and show me the relevant episodes for that search term.

Also, in the now playing view, when you tap on the three dots, you'll notice that the menu is more like liquid glass than before. And if you're playing a video podcast, we now have transcriptions. You'll now see the transcriptions down there at the bottom. And also if you go into lyrics right here you can see that it actually does or I shouldn't say lyrics the transcript you can see it does word by word transcript. So before it would just show the transcript for videos but now it goes word by word for videos and it shows the chapters for video podcasts. Before you cannot see the chapters for video podcasts in this section. And if you're an accessibility user there are also larger text sizes available for podcasts and the transcripts.

If we head into the messages application we have a few changes here in iOS 27. So, first off, when you have a draft, which is when you type something out, but you haven't yet sent it, it will now show up in your main view right here in messages, and it will say draft, and then what you were typing, and you haven't sent yet. I just have this filtered by draft, that's why it shows just that one, but that will show in your main view as well.

Now, if we head into a message and we tap on the plus, you'll see that Genmoji has a new look. So, before it was like kind of that rainbow. Now, it's more simple. It's just like kind of white and black. And if you go into Genmoji, you have that new interface like we saw with image playground before. You can also tap on these emojis to get some inspiration.

Also, when you tap on that plus and you go into the camera, you'll notice that the X is now down in the bottom left hand corner whereas before it was in the upper left corner and there's a brand new option in here called drawing. So, what this does is it allows you to draw a message to somebody. So, if I say hello right there and I go ahead and I send that, you can see it will send it as kind of a handwritten note. So, that's something you can now do in iOS 27 as well, maybe a little bit more personal, which is nice.

So now when you send a message, you'll see individual progress bars per message, which means that you'll now see which message is taking long to send. And also in some instances, like when you're on like a plane and the Wi-Fi on the plane is really bad and you try to send an image, sometimes your text would be stuck. Like if you sent text messages, like uh messages with text and then you sent images, sometimes the text messages would not go through until the images got sent through. But now in some cases, the text can actually send before the images because you have progress bars for each one. on. So if I send this video for example, you can see that there will be a progress bar underneath of it as it is sending. Well, that one sent pretty quick. Let me find a bigger video. Okay, so there you go. You can see the little progress bar underneath of it. And you can see it will stay there even after I send text. It will show that that is the message that's taking a while to be sent.

Now, here's something really cool in iOS 27. So, when you take a screenshot of something and you do the copy and delete, which is something I use all the time, when you go into a text field, you'll see that automatically you get prompted to paste from screenshots and then it will paste it in right there. But it's not just for screenshots. Anytime you copy something, so if I just copy this text right here, and then I go back and or into another application, for example, like let's just say I go into Twitter, for example, and I copied something in messages. So if I go right here, you can see it will say paste either that screenshot or paste whatever I just copied from messages into Twitter for example in this instance. So that makes it much easier that saves you from having to tap again and then tap on paste.

Okay, so here's something that drove me crazy on previous versions of iOS and I think Justin Bieber was probably the most outraged at this feature existing. But that is right here for voice notes. If you're not somebody who normally sends a voice note, like an audio message to somebody, you've definitely sent one on accident at some point. It's just bound to happen. It happens to me quite often. Well, now with iOS 27, you can remove that finally. So, if you go into your messages settings and scroll down, you will see that show in text field, you could either do record audio, start dictation or none. So, now if you go back into messages, you can see that there is nothing over there except for a send icon where you can send that message. That is great.

Now, let's go back to dictation because dictation is way better in iOS 27. Like, it's a night and day difference. So, I'm just going to show you how much better it is. Okay. So, take a look at how much better iOS 27 is versus iOS 26 specifically with the commas, the quotations around don't forget the meeting tomorrow and all this being like in quotations. It's just much more aware of natural, you know, speech and it's much better with punctuation as well.

Now, it's not like that by default. You're not going to see a difference out of the box with iOS 27. There's actually something you need to enable for this. So, go into your settings, go to general. We're going to go down until we get to keyboard. And then in here, you will see if we scroll down to the dictation section. You'll see right here we have advanced dictation preview. That's off by default. You want to turn that on to get the advanced dictation.

We also have automatic proofreading to check for grammar and spelling in iOS 27. And this is one of those underrated features I think a lot of people are going to miss at first because we have the traditional underlines right here. And before in iOS 26, you just tap on it and it would show you the fix. That's it. But in iOS 27, it goes much further because if you tap on that, you'll see this new icon right there. Of course, you can press the right version if you want to and that'll solve it right away. But right next to it, we have that magnifying glass and also a search for Siri. But if we tap on the magnifying glass right there, that's going to open up this brand new window for proofreading for checking your grammar and your spelling. So, it's going to show you the original, the suggestion, and if you want to stop grammar checking, ignore the suggestion, accept all suggestions, and so on. So, you can see you can kind of go between the different ones, and it's really good at detecting grammar mistakes, especially if you're somebody who spells there and there wrong and things like that. We'll accept it. Accept it. Boom. Done.

Now, we have correct grammar. And by the way, you'll also notice with iOS 27 that the new liquid glass keyboard shows up for all third party applications now. So, in iOS 26, it was kind of hit or miss. Not every third party app would show the updated keyboard, but now it's there in all apps.

Now, moving over to the phone application, we have a couple of things going on here. So, first off, in phone, if you go to audio right here, you'll see a new interface where it shows iPhone speaker and then show more, which shows the other ways that you can connect this phone call, but it shows these two in their own little section here. But you'll also see this right here. This is a new feature that uses AI to surface relevant information from other applications about the person that you're on the phone with. So, it shows that this person's birthday, my birthday was on June 10th. It wasn't actually my birthday, but it shows June 10th, which was yesterday. So, what's cool is that it doesn't have any type of like animation there. However, on my actual birthday, you can see that when it was on actual June 10th, it had these fireworks going off because the birthday was today. So, it reminded me, it said found in contacts. It found my birthday in contacts. So, it showed me that relevant information there on the phone.

Now, it's not just for birthdays. This will also show you relevant information when, like, for example, you're on the phone with an airline. It will pop up your confirmation number or it may go into your email and find your confirmation number and pop that up in a little card right here to give you that relevant information while you're on the phone. So, you don't have to go into other applications. It's really cool.

Also, in the phone application, when you're on hold with the hold assist feature, it will now predict the wait time.

When you tap on a contact's name from the recent view, you'll see a couple of changes here. So, first off, you can see the text here is smaller and also it shows B squared first now instead of below on iOS 27. You'll also see a difference here where we have details and voicemails. Also, when you go to edit the contact for ringtone and text tone, you can see that those are now blue instead of staying black like before.

And here's something else that's really useful that's coming in iOS 27. pretty niche, but if you have two phones, if you have two numbers, you can now switch phone numbers without having to go through the whole transfer process and transferring over your eim from one phone to another. So, you'll be able to use the same, you know, phone number on two different phones. Not at the same time, of course, but you'll be able to switch it back and forth without doing the whole eim transfer all over again. And this is going to roll out later as more carriers support it. But that's a great feature coming for those who have two numbers.

Okay, so let's move over to FaceTime because we have a really cool change here in FaceTime with iOS 27. and that is the fact that we now have a dual camera view with iOS 27. So, if I go ahead and flip my camera around, take a look at what it shows here. So, the person on the other end also sees this. We can see both sides of my camera. So, now if you're FaceTiming somebody and you want to hold the phone up to your face, the other person will see both. So, you can see on your view, so this is my view down here at the bottom, it shows myself up in the upper left hand corner. I can remove that if I want to. And that will also remove it from the other person's phone. So they'll only see the back camera. But if we want to see both, you tap on that and then the person on the other end, which is this person right here, will see me from both the front-facing camera and the rear-facing camera at the same time. So that's pretty cool. It's like dual capture, but you can do this while on FaceTime.

Apple also says that FaceTime quality is going to be improved when you're on a poor connection. And also live captions, which we see right here. These will be enabled for traditional Chinese.

Let's head into Safari because there's some changes in here that are really hidden beneath the surface that you may not know about. So, first off, we have a new tab view glyph icon. So, if you take a look down there in the bottom right hand corner, this confused a lot of people in iOS 26. They were like, "How do I get to my tabs?" Of course, we know that you can swipe up like that, but a lot of people, you know, who aren't super tech savvy did not know that. And of course, if you tap on it, that's also how you can go to all tabs. Or if you hold on it, that's how you can go to all tabs as well. but it wasn't really super clear until now with iOS 27 where it shows a little tab view right there and you can simply tap on that and you go into your tabs much easier.

Now, when you go into the tab view, you'll see some differences here as well. So, around the private and 35 tabs right there, you can see there's kind of an outline whereas before there was no outline. There was also gray behind it before. There's no longer any gray behind it. It's like a full liquid glass now.

Also, when we open up a new tab, take a look up top. So, we now have access to our bookmarks, our history, and our reading list all up there in that top bar. And you may have also noticed this right here that we now have tab organization. So, now with iOS 27, Safari will automatically organize your tabs. So, you can see this says iOS 26 right here. This one says emojipedia. And you can see other ones as well, maybe for shopping. If I had multiple shopping ones open, you'd see that. But if you go up here, you'll see we have this new filter option. If we tap on that, that allows us to organize tabs. So you can have this set to never or automatically create topics. And it says Safari automatically detects related tabs and groups them into topics. And you can see it shows I have three topics right now. Apple.com, emojipedia, and iOS 26. If I tap on that, it will filter it and show all of the windows open in that specific, you know, tab that it created or topic I guess that it created.

But there's something pretty neat here in iOS 27 that you really don't see on the surface. So, if you go to the address bar right here and you tap on these lines, you will see that we have a couple of changes. So, right here underneath of manage extensions, we have something brand new called describe extension. And what this does is it allows you to create a Safari extension using natural language. So, I just asked it to build me something very simple called show me the names of the fonts used on a website. So, it will show relevant search results right here in the app store if some of those extensions already exist. If not, you go to create extensions up top and you will create that extension and it will say it will give you kind of a progress bar here. It will tell you when it's building it and then it will show you when it's done.

Okay, so there we go. Up top it shows that the extension was created called fontfinder and we can go ahead and tap on try. We're going to go into this menu and we're going to go to fontinder. We're going to tap on it and you can see obviously it's not the most beautiful thing in the world, but it will show the fonts that are used on this website. It actually does it. So it shows every one of those fonts that are used right there. I can copy this if I want to and maybe add it to a note.

And you might have also noticed up top that there's something else new right there. And that's actually something that I created, but I'm going to show you how to do that as well because that, if you scroll down, is called Notify Me. So, this allows you to have Safari let you know when a website updates the content that you're interested in. So, if maybe something is out of stock or something is going to have a sale and you want to know when a product is going to be on sale, you can have Safari send you a notification when something changes on a website. And remember, you can just use natural language for this just like you could with the extension creator. So, you can see it's going to look for that. I'll go and tap on the check mark. And you can see it also said to check daily at 7:41 p.m. If you want to edit that and change it at a different time, if you want it to run like daily, weekly, or monthly, you can choose that. And you can choose the specific time as well. And it will show you that it will check back tomorrow to see if it's in stock in that size if anything changes on this website to show me when it's in stock. And this is going to send you a system notification. So it's not going to be like an email or anything like that. It's going to be a system notification you'll see on your device just like a regular notification.

Also in Safari, there's a brand new Apple Pay checkout screen. So when you're paying for something online, you can kind of swipe between your different cards right here. It's a really cool, really satisfying animation. and you will see this here. And this whole interface is just different. It looks a lot more modern than it did in iOS 26. It's also really easy to access your other cards and pay later options. So, you can tap on that and you will see you have this new interface here as well that shows your Apple Card, your Apple Cash, you have your pay later options, your use reward options right there. It's just a much more intuitive interface than what we've seen previously. You even have a plus right here as well if you wanted to add something else in there as a payment option.

Apple did also say that Safari is more power efficient in iOS 27. So in theory, it should drain battery less.

Okay, so let's talk about passwords because there's a really big feature in passwords that is really awesome and really I think going to confuse some people as well. So I want to clear the air on that. But if you go into passwords and you go into security, you can see that I need to fix 80 passwords. So I have 80 passwords that were compromised or they're just weak passwords in general. So it would take forever to go through all those. I'm just getting overwhelmed thinking about it. But with iOS 27, you don't have to do it yourself because right here front and center, you can automatically fix 80 passwords. And this happens automatically, which means that Apple, Apple Intelligence will go in and do all of this for you. It'll go into these websites and change your password for you. As long as you give it access to read, you know, your messages so it can do 2FA codes and things like that, it's going to change the passwords for you one by one. Now, of course, this all happens on device. It is very secure. So, it's not like a privacy concern or anything like that. But, let me just show you how this works. We're go to get started. And you can see we'll just tap on fix passwords. And it says allow passwords to temporarily access verification codes. We're going to allow and then it is going to attempt to fix those passwords and create those new passwords for those websites. And it will automatically save those new strong passwords into the passwords app so that next time I have the correct password.

In the clock application, if you go down to alarms, you'll see that the overlay is now more of a dark theme, whereas before there's kind of some gray behind it. Also, under timers, there's a lot more padding on the ends of the cancel and start and the label and when timer ends section. Before it was kind of full screen, now it's not so much. Also, up at the very top, we have edit on the right hand side to the left of the plus, whereas before they were on opposite ends up top. And when you tap on edit, you can see that the check mark now has orange behind it. Whereas before it did not have any change to it and it was over there on the left hand side again.

But the most important change related to alarms is actually inside of the sounds and haptics settings. Because if you scroll down, you'll see that now for the first time, we have separate volume sliders for ringtone, alarms, and alerts. So, if you want your ringtone to be a certain volume, but you don't want your alarm to be that loud, like if you have your ringtone turned all the way up, but you don't want your alarm to be super loud and scare you in the morning, you could turn your alarm down. Same with your system sounds and your alerts, like your notifications, you can change the level of that sound as well. So, these all now have independent volume sliders. As long as you don't have match ringtone volume and match ringtone volume selected for both of these, you could choose it to be however loud or low as you want. But keep in mind for alarms, this will not affect the wake up alarm like the one where you do the bedtime schedule because that has its own independent volume slider. This is more for just regular alarms and timers.

We have a new app icon for the maps application. You can see it has more of kind of a liquid glass look, especially to the arrow right there. And if we go into maps, we have a few changes here as well. First off, some of these buttons have been moved around. So you can see that the 2D and 3D is now over here on the left hand side, whereas before it was over there on the right hand side. The buttons used to have more gray behind them. Now, they do not. Also, you can see that right here, it shows plan instead of directions. This is one of the main things you'll notice right away.

And when you tap on that, there's a whole new flow to choosing how to get to a destination because before it would default to using your location, and that was it. But now, you have to choose an origin. Now, it's really easy to choose your, you know, place as well, like your location, but it only shows this prompt if you're really far away. like you're probably not going to drive there is the only time it's going to show the origin as where you have to select it instead of defaulting to your location. If it's only a couple hours away, of course, it would default to your location. But when it's far away, it's smart enough to know that you're probably going to choose a different origin. And then when I do choose my origin, take a look at the difference here as well. So the whole flow is different. So we have obviously a lot of visual changes as well. Like directions is now in the middle instead of being big and bold. Over here on the left, we have options directly underneath. This whole section looks much different. It's much easier to read. It's white. Also, this down here is white. We have a share button over there on the top left corner. There's no share over here. And then also, when we go to options, that pulls up things like leaving now, leaving at, or arriving by, which is right here, and avoid. So, those are both separate things, but it's now under one umbrella under options here.

Also, when you go to add a stop, you can see there's a dictation right there. So, you can actually talk and tell it your next stop. And you'll also notice throughout this process that the glyph icons to the left of these destinations are much larger than they were beforehand.

If we tap into the search field on Apple Maps, we have a few changes here as well. So, first off, we have suggested places right here. Before on the latest version of iOS 26, it would only show two suggested places. But now you could see a lot more of the suggested places, which are places nearby. But also below that, this is something really neat, and I can already see myself finding this very useful. We have trending restaurants. So this is going to find trending restaurants and trending guides nearby. So this uses intelligent insights for what's trending near your location. Of course, your location is not, you know, attached to your account or anything like that, but you can see the trending restaurants right here. And if you tap on that, it will take you straight to directions for that trending place. You can also tap into there to see this is a list of trending restaurants in your area and it will show you more about them.

There's also natural language search coming to maps where you can cover routing specifics as well. So, I was not able to get that to work in beta 1, but that will be coming as well. There's also improvements to offline maps in iOS 27. Oh, and one of the big new features in iOS 27 that's not yet available in beta 1 is the flyover experience. So, this uses AI to improve the realism and the detail of cities, and it makes them look pretty amazing. So, Apple showed this off of the keynote, but it's not available in beta 1.

All right, so let's move into the wallet application because this is where one of my favorite features in iOS 27 lives. So if you go into the wallet and you tap on the plus right here, there's going to be a brand new option called create a pass. And when you tap on that, this is going to allow you to create a pass in your Apple wallet for tickets, memberships, and more with visual intelligence. So basically, if you have like a membership to Costco, if you have a membership to a gym, you have a membership to a theme park and it does not support Apple Wallet natively, this is going to allow you to create a pass and have it in your Apple wallet even if that, you know, site or that store does not support it natively. So, let me show you how this works. We're going to continue and we're going to scan my gym QR code here and we're going to create a pass out of it because unfortunately Planet Fitness does not support Apple Wallet. So, I'm going to do it myself with iOS 27. So, it's going to scan that QR code, my membership for my gym, and take a look at that. Everything is already right in there. So, now I have a QR code, and I could add this to my Apple Wallet. And now, the next time I go in there, I don't have to unlock my phone, go into the application, tap a couple of buttons, and then finally have my QR code. All I need to do is double press the side button, launch my wallet, and boom, I have my Planet Fitness membership QR code right there. And by the way, while you're here, you could also go to edit this pass and you can change the colors if you want to choose from library or change the background color. You can do that right there very easily. You also tap on this to add or remove fields. So if you want to change something, you can do that. You can also change the name of it up here if you would like to.

In the calendar application, we have a couple of changes here. So first off, you can now describe an event. So instead of just typing in whatever the event is, you can use natural language and it will title it for you. And you can see to the right of that there's a little picture icon. If you tap on that, you could take a picture of something and it will automatically create that event for you. So if you have something with a date on it, a date and a time, you can see it says add to calendar and then you can add that to calendar that way. Or you can describe an event like I said. So we'll just say something like this. Concert next Thursday at 7:30 p.m. And you can see it will detect that I didn't say next Thursday. That doesn't need to go in the title. It just knows that next Thursday at 7:30. It set it up perfectly. I didn't say an end date, but it gave a pretty good guess right there at 9:00 p.m. as well. So, you can use natural language now to create an event, which is really nice. You can also see invitees is right here as well, along with show as, alert, and travel time all right here. So, they have a different look right here to all these. And also down here, you can see URL, notes, and add attachment are all together now. Whereas before the attachment was at the very top and it was separate, now these have glyph icons. They all three have glyph icons and they're down at the bottom and notes is not super big. My god, I never understood why it was so big. Now it's not that large. It's just the same size as the others.

And here's something else that's nice. So before in iOS 26, you could only set two alerts, but now you can set several different alerts. I'm not even sure what the limit is, but you can see I can keep on adding these alerts. I'm pretty sure you could just add every single one of these as an alert. So we have all those alerts going on. You can also see show as busy or free right there as well.

In the notes application, we can now copy as markdown. We could not do that before. we could only export as markdown. Also, when we go into the format menu right here, underline is actually underlined. Before it was only the symbol next to it. Also, italic is now in italics. Before it was just regular.

We have some changes in the reminders application as well. So, first off, you could see that we have new bubbles here for the title, the notes, and the URL. So, before title and notes were kind of just combined, but now they're separated, and these are also more circular and more compact. So, you'll also notice that we have describe reminder. So, just like in calendar, you can use natural language to describe a reminder. Pick up pickles at 7:30. And right once you type that in, it will give you the title right here, and it will automatically toggle on the date and the time, so you don't have to do that yourself.

Now, another change here from iOS 26 is you can see the urgent glyph now has those little sound waves coming out of it, whereas before it did not have that. And if you go into the reminders list right here, you'll see that when you tap on one of these, you get a new kind of like bubble. It kind of pops out now, whereas before there was no indication of that. and also the time, the date, all the little important things about that notification or about that reminder are now popped out. So, they have their own little like kind of not a glyph icon, but their own kind of little button there, whereas before it was just text.

Also, if you tap on the eye, and you can see the original prompt is up here in gray. And you'll also notice with these buttons, whereas before you couldn't really do anything with those, you would have to go into the eye to edit the date, the time, all that. But now with iOS 27, you can simply tap on today and quickly make that tomorrow or quickly make that this weekend. You can just make these really quick adjustments, you know, by just tapping on it. And it makes it so much easier actually being in the reminders application. I used to dread being in reminders. I would just do everything through Siri because it was just so complicated for no reason in here. But now it's much easier. So I think reminders is going to be uh one of the most underrated changes here in 27.

The grocery list have also been improved because of the new Siri and Apple intelligence. So if you had issues with groceries not properly categorizing things, that should be much better with iOS 27.

The mail application has a new ranking system. So the emails that you're actually looking for will pop up first when you go to search. And you'll also notice in iOS 27 that we have expanded search results. It says mail can look for more results based on what you mean, not just the words you type. So again, just like with calendar and just like with reminders, you can use natural language to describe what you're looking for in your emails. So if I search for something like a rental car agreement, you can see that I get a lot more top results now than before. Before I only got one top result. That's it. The rest were more results. And you can see that this shows a lot more right up top. So, the ranking system has been tweaked and you will find those emails much quicker than previously. And sometimes I just wouldn't find them at all, but I found that it's much better here in iOS 27.

Okay, so let's move over to the shortcuts application because there's a pretty massive change here to shortcuts in iOS 27. So, first off, starting with the small UI changes, you can see we have select up in the upper right hand corner. Before we had edit and add, but now it's just select, which makes it very simple. And that's because down at the bottom we now have new shortcuts. A big blue button right there. Whereas before we had library, automation, and gallery. Now, of course, you can still get to those by going back. You can find them right there.

But if we go into shortcuts and go to create a new shortcut, take a look at this. It looks a lot different than what we saw on iOS 26. And that's because with iOS 27, the main way you're going to be creating shortcuts is by describing them using natural language. Have you noticed the theme throughout this video? Everything is using natural language now. So, this is amazing because shortcuts has always been more difficult. So, if you tap right here on this little button up here in the upper right hand corner, that's how you can get back to the traditional shortcuts. And, you know, it was very difficult because you'd have to build a shortcut from scratch unless you downloaded one from somewhere. It was just very complicated and a lot of average users would not even go into here because it'd be way too intimidating. But now with iOS 27, I think it's a lot less intimidating because you can use AI to create a shortcut for you.

Okay, so I said to make a character counter, I want to see how many characters are there when I select a body of text. So you can see it's going to get the selected text. It's going to count the characters and show the result in an alert. So I can go ahead and run that straight from here. Of course, it says there are zero characters, but if I did something right here, I started typing something with some different characters. And I select that and now I run it. Okay, so we're going to add this to the share sheet. So, we're going to tap on the I right here and go to show in share sheet just to make it easier. So, now I'm going to go back to my notes right here. So, I have some text selected. I want to see if this actually works. So, we're going to go ahead here and there's our shortcut we just created with just simple text. We're going to do character counter. And you can see that it will run and it will show us that that's 221 characters. So, it works. And you can see the dynamic island. It shows it working right there. So, that's cool. And you can always tap on this like I said and you can add on to this like a traditional shortcut. If you want to keep adding on to it, you can. You can also go here and just continue adding on to it. So if it's not like what you want or if you want to add on to it again, you can keep using natural language to tweak it and make it better.

Also new in iOS 27, we can now have an automation run when we receive a notification. So this is great. So when you receive a notification from news, for example, something can happen. So if I receive a notification from let's just choose something and now we can create an automation based on when you receive a notification from a certain application.

Now also you can now have multiple automation triggers. So you can see right here I can have another automation trigger. So if I go to automation right here, you can see if it's, you know, if I receive a notification and at a certain time. So you can have multiple automation triggers for running a specific shortcut action.

If we head into the find my application, if you're sharing location with people, you can see first off down at the very bottom and the navigation bar, we have new glyph icons across the board. So for people, you can see a new people icon. Devices is slightly different. It's more bold. Items shows like an Air Tag. and me shows like a location pin. The people text is now bolder and the plus icon over here is a little bit more like liquid glass and it also appears to be a little bit larger.

When you're temporarily sharing a location, the badge is now in the upper right corner of that person's face, not the bottom right corner. And when you tap to go into that person, it no longer opens up a brand new card like so. It now shows this little in card action where you can find and contact right there. And also, when you're going to share your location with somebody, you can now set a custom time. So before you were limited to just the options they had there, but now you could set a custom time from 15 minutes up to 30 days.

But the biggest change in iOS 27 for find my is that you can now hide your location and the person on the other end will not be notified when you hide your location. And they will also not be notified when you unhide your location. So if you tap on hide location, you can see nothing happens. It will just hide your location. And it says my location hiding. And you can also unhide it just like so. very simply and the person on the other end will not know that you actually did that.

There's also a slightly new interface for the precision finding with friends feature and there's also a live activity if you're outside of the find my application as you can see right here.

Heading into the health application if you take a look at the bottom middle we now have the navigation in the center whereas before it was kind of separated left and right and you can see that browse now has something underneath of it text. Before there was no text underneath of it. And when we go into browse you can see a new view here as well. So, we now have cards instead of a list view. So, it's a lot more engaging. And you can see down here we have add accounts as well. It just looks a lot better than it did in iOS 26.

And if we go into the fitness application, you can see a slight change here as well. It's not very obvious on the surface, but if you go into workout right here and you start a workout. So, we're just going to start an outdoor walk. We'll just go ahead and start that right there on both. And you can see a slight difference. So, the guy is now up in the top left instead of being in the center right there. And also when you're actually in the workout view, you can see the rings are up in the top right. The guy is walking up in the top left instead of being down here in the bottom. And this whole menu is kind of large and bulky from the beginning. Now it's a lot more minimal down there. And you can see that there's a slight change to the UI. Also, the zero feet, all that is moved down slightly. And if you go to a completed workout, you'll see a new UI that looks significantly better in every way. So, first off, we have a nice map up top. It shows traditional strength training in big bold letters along with the amount of calories burned, the active calories burned. It shows the date underneath of it, the exact times, and it shows that it used an Apple Watch to track this. Everything is just a lot more central right here. It also shows the weather, humidity, and air quality right there. We have workout details, the effort, all that. It just looks so much better than it did before.

Now, speaking of the weather, let's go into the weather application because there's also some changes there in iOS 27. So, first off, we have highlights. So if you go ahead to highlights, this will show you basically just some of the highlights from the day. So things like precipitation, chances of rain, just different highlights throughout the day will populate right there. But more importantly, we have precipitation right here. We have conditions and we have wind in this new section up top that looks way better. So you can see the precipitation when you change that, we have these little block views, this little kind of slider that shows how much rain is expected. It shows the percentage and it shows the amount right there along with, you know, this right here. And the the little slider is just for today. So, you can see where you're at in today's like day. You know what I mean? Where the rain is at. So, that's pretty cool. And this really cool little stacking little icon right here for that. And then we have wind. This is what it looks like for wind. We have this little uh little line graph looking thing. It shows the range right here along with the line and it corresponds to the time of day when the wind is high or low.

You'll also notice that the map has been moved down. So before it showed the hourly forecast right here and then the map but you can see that conditions and the whole week view is kind of combined now into one section and below that is the precipitation map. And then also you can see that, you know, underneath of that we have a change here as well. So air quality used to be up top. Now the averages and wind are up top. So wind was kind of its own little big section down here. Now it's a much smaller section which I think is warranted. And the feels like is down there whereas feels like is way down here now on iOS 26. So, just some tweaking of everything. Also, you can see, you know, the moon right here. That's also, it used to be a big thing. Now, it's much smaller. It also shows next moonrise and small text. Right underneath of that.

There's a new purchase screen in the App Store. So, when you go to purchase something, you can see this is what it looks like on the right in iOS 27 compared to the purchase screen on the left in iOS 26. So, the same details, just a little bit of a different look.

In the journal application, we have a few changes. So first off up in the upper right hand corner you can see that the search and the three dot menu are separated now. Also right here underneath of journal it shows the total amount of entries. So it shows 29 entries. It did not show that before on iOS 26. Also it shows the exact day and time of your journal entries. Before it just showed the day, the date but now it shows the time as well. And if you go

Into a journal entry, there are now writing prompts. So, you can see right next to the little pencil, there's this right here, which is writing prompts. And it will give you some examples of things that you can write about in your journal entry. So, it says, "What did uninterrupted thinking time reveal about your approach?" So, basically, it's going to read through what you already wrote, and it's going to give you some prompts to add on to it. So, it said, "How did you, how did working through frustration shape your progress today?"

You can also add more attachments now in iOS 27, and they're also going to be full screen. You could also see up at the top again, we have the full date right there, and we also have an edit button. You could tap on that to edit the date right there as well, whereas before, that was not there.

When you go back to your journals right here, you can see that before, print was below choose journals. Now, it's above choose journals, and choose journals and delete are in the same section. Now, also up top, when you scroll down, you can see that journal shows up there in the top left, along with the entry number below it.

If you have a child account, there's a redesigned screen time with time allowances. So, I don't have this because all my devices need to be on 27. But if you do have a child account, just know that parents can now set daily limits across app categories like entertainment, games, and social media. You can also set schedules. So, if you're a parent, you can decide which applications are available at different times throughout the day.

There's also age range for applications. So, if you go here, if I go into my son right here, which is not actually my son, but if you go down here, go to age range for apps, you can choose if you want this to be always, ask first, or never. So, before we had ask to buy, but there's also now ask to browse in Safari. So, you can now, you know, have your child ask you if it's okay to visit a certain website.

There's also a new way where parents can require approval before a child connects with somebody new in Messages, FaceTime, or Phone.

In the Preview application, we have a few changes here. So, first off, Preview is now left aligned, and we also have some subtext that says "Choose a document to display and edit." And then we have "New Document" and "Scan Documents." But take a look at this. We have this interactive little magnifying glass right here. So, this was on iPad OS 26, but it was never there on iOS 26. So, it's kind of pointless, but it's really fun, and I love having this on here. So, that is something new in the Preview application.

You'll also see down here at the bottom, we have this little grid view right there. If you tap on that, that will show you the icons and list view right here. So, even when it's set to icons, before it just showed in that three-dot menu, now it's separated.

There are also quite a few accessibility changes in iOS 27. So, Apple previewed these before iOS 27 beta 1 was released, but there are some new ones here. So, if we go into VoiceOver right here, for example, we now have Image Explorer. So, this uses Apple Intelligence to produce more detailed descriptions of images throughout the system.

We also have cursor visibility. So, if you go down here to the cursor, we have cursor visibility where you can change if you wanted to show, hide, or hide only in screenshots and recordings.

There's also text exploration right here. So, you can change this between line, paragraph, and sentence.

The zoom interface has been changed in iOS 27. So, this is what it looked like before. Here's what it looks like on iOS 27. So, you can zoom in and out right here very easily, and the whole interface just looks so much cleaner than it did in iOS 26. So, you can also pull it up to show the different options right there. There's also a quick button to zoom out. And of course, you get out of it the same way with three taps.

And then if we go into Touch right here, and then we go down to Back Tap, you'll notice that there's a new option here for "Use Alternate Model."

Also for Accessibility Reader, we have content cleanup. So, you can choose to always show original text or automatically clean text. That's something new. There's also support for more complex document layouts with iOS 27 and Accessibility Reader.

And if we go into Display & Text Size and scroll down, you can see that PWM is in here. So, display pulse smoothing is now a setting inside of Display & Text Size. That was there before, but now it's in a new spot.

Also, if we go into Voice Control, there's a change here as well because we now have natural language input. So, you can say things in a natural way like "tap the guide about best restaurants," and they will know what you're talking about.

And then if we go back into our Settings and go to Privacy & Security, and we scroll all the way down, there's a new option down here, something new called "Impersonation Risk Detection." So, it says, "Allow apps to request Apple's impersonation risk detection signals to help detect if your device or account show signs of an active scam." So, if you turn that on, you can share that with app developers. And it says, "For your protection, disabling this feature may take up to 24 hours to take effect." So, if you're always worried about being scammed, this may be something that you want to enable. However, don't expect it to catch everything. I think this is more meant to catch like display name spoofing and things like that.

So, there you have it. Those are over 200 new features and changes found in iOS 27 beta 1. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. It took me quite some time to put together, but I hope you did enjoy it.
