Here's the truth. You've been showing up as a version of yourself that you're no longer aligned with. And it's time to change that. This is not just a reset video. This is you actually starting over. Not just because you want to, but because you feel like you need to. And somewhere along the way, you lost track of yourself, your habits, your energy, even your confidence. The way you've been showing up is not how you want to move in this next season. So, today is the beginning of something new.

If you've been feeling behind, stuck, or even just not like yourself lately, just know that you're not alone. This video is for anyone who needs a fresh start mentally, physically, emotionally, all of the above. Let's talk about what it really takes to start over and how you're going to do that step by step. As you get older, you're going to experience the art of starting over multiple times. Whether that's in relationships, friendships, career, environment, you're going to start over. And as life ebbs and flows and you're thrown different roadblocks, you're going to be able to differentiate whether you need to reinvent your life altogether or refine it. It's the difference between reinvention and refinement because you can leave a career, you can move to a big city, but once the novelty of this big city fades, you might just find yourself back to where you were a few months ago. So that's why it's important to really take the time to understand whether your life needs a complete overhaul and reinvention or some fine-tuned tweaks or refinement.

Let's talk about the two. Reinvention is resetting your life. It is creating a new version of yourself and your life. Refining is simply leveling up. You're already on the right path. You just need to sharpen it a bit. Before we move into reinvention or refinement, you need to perform a life audit. Look at the four categories of your life: career, environment, relationships, habits, and rank them on a scale of 1 to 5. One being not so great, five being amazing. How do you feel like you're actually performing in each of these areas? And if you rank anything under a three, you need to explain why you feel that way. Now, when you're able to look at your life in this way, you're going to be able to identify whether there are certain areas that are trickling into others. You might not hate your job. Your relationship might be falling apart, and that might be trickling into your performance at work. Little things like that are really hard to visualize when you're just living through it day by day. That's why a life audit is very important. If you rank anything about a one or a two, you might just need reinvention in that category. If you rank anything a three and above, you might just need a little refinement, and that's great, too.

If you need to refine your life, then you should do this. Start by identifying the areas in your life that need tightening up in each of these categories. When I was a cheer coach, I used to have to have these tightening up conversations with my girls because every once in a while, our program would start falling apart. And this happened multiple times throughout the year. I would sit the girls down, we'd have a little huddle, and I would basically ask them, "What's going on here? I'm having you girls doing this over here. Teachers are emailing me. Some of you are showing up late. This is not the program that we've built. And we didn't come this far just to come this far and let the whole program burn down to the ground. We need to tighten that." Each girl would go around and share how they were feeling about the program, how they were feeling about their personal life, if they felt inclined, and what was going on with them overall. After they did that, they'd go around and speak on what they were going to do to show up as a better teammate, as a better athlete, and show up better for themselves in general. After that, we would typically be back on the right page because we took the time to audit our lives, to talk about what was going on internally and why we're not showing up as the best version of ourselves for the people in our lives. And nine times out of 10, it always resulted in us showing up better the next day. You need to do the same for yourself. You need to look at yourself in the mirror, have a little tough love moment, and ask yourself, "What's going on here? This is not the person that you built up. And you didn't come this far just to come this far and let everything that you've built up to this moment crash to the ground." So, let's refine certain areas of our lives. Let's refine our habits. If I'm not showing up in the best way that I can here, this is what I can do to show up better in this area. This is what I need to do in this area to show up better. And this is what I need to do in this area to show up better. You need to identify the areas that need tightening up. Write it out and make the change immediately.

Next, it's important to understand that as the seasons change, new normals will arise. As you move through your early mid to late 20s, early mid to late 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, new seasons come and new normals arise. And you need to learn to adjust to these new normals. You're not always going to be the same you that you were in your early 20s. You're not always going to be the same you that you were in your mid-20s and your late 20s. And as you move into these different seasons, early 30s, mid-30s, late 30s, early 40s, life is going to shift around you. And you can either catch up or stay behind and stay yearning for what once was. It's just a result of not only you getting older, but your environment getting older as well. You're not always going to feel the same way you felt about your job when you first started it. You're not always going to feel the same way about your friendships as they progress. But just because they're changing, just because the seasons are changing, doesn't mean that you no longer want to be friends with the people in your life anymore. It doesn't mean that you no longer want to be at your job anymore. You're just different. Your job just might be different. And you just might need to adjust to this new normal. I deal with nostalgia pretty heavily. I know a lot of millennials do. And one thing I've realized when it comes to my friendships is that as we're moving through these different seasons of our lives, things are just going to change more and more. And it doesn't mean that I hate all my friends and that I need to get all new friends. It just means that I need to adjust to the changes that are happening. And it's bittersweet and it's sad. And I'm definitely the type that will bring it up every single time we all hang out. But it's just because I'm sad that life is changing and it's also me identifying that we're growing up and that how we used to keep up with each other is going to have to look a lot different now as we get older. I also feel the same way with my job as a creator. There are times where I wonder why I don't feel the spark that I did in the beginning often. And it's not because I don't love this anymore. It's just that I'm in a different season of life. I'm different. My mindset's different. I've matured so much throughout the years. I'm not who I was in my mid to late 20s anymore. I'm in my early 30s and I value different things now. And the way I look at my career as a creator has changed drastically. I might be feeling the way I am feeling because I'm not letting myself evolve. I'm not letting my channel evolve with who I am today. As the seasons change, it's important to realize that new normals are going to arise. And with those new normals, you need to learn to adjust and realize that you might not need to uproot everything and change things altogether. You just might need to adjust.

And lastly, as you're making these changes during your refinement season, it's important to remember to maintain the changes that you've made. Okay? You can't come this far and see the positive growth and see the positive changes in your life just to turn around and take 10 steps back. Maintain the habits that you've built. So you can actually see lasting change, lasting happiness, lasting contentment throughout your journey. Look back at your life audit as the weeks go on so you can remember how you were feeling just a few weeks ago. Check in with yourself as the weeks go on just so you can identify whether or not you're actually experiencing growth.

If you need to reinvent yourself, then you should do this. Look at your life audit and figure out the area in your life that needs reinvention. You need to figure out everything that you need to do before you perform this overhaul. You need to figure out everything that needs to be done after, and you need to talk about the things that can actually go wrong. Whenever you are in a season of reinvention, everything is going to feel sticky. The days leading up to you making this big change feel heavy, feel intense. They might just be the worst days of your life, honestly. And that is definitely a clear sign of life telling you that you need to move on from this thing, this situation, relationship, whatever it is. It's a clear sign that you are not where you need to be. However, it's important to remember that your worst days tend to lead to the best ones. So, you might be in turmoil, you might be in chaos, and every day you walk into the building at work, you might want to just walk right back out to your car. But you need to figure these things out. Everything that you need to do leading up to that change. What is going to happen after you leave and what can go wrong? It's important that despite everything feeling chaotic, you figure these things out before prematurely jumping ship. I can't say that I've always done this the right way. When I was a teacher, I was so ready to leave. The days leading up to my resignation, every day felt like the worst day ever. However, I was trying very hard to make it to the end of the semester, which was in December. I left in October. I ended up leaving early because every single day just felt like turmoil and things just felt like they were getting worse and worse. But that was not the plan. And I don't recommend that. Make a plan for the days leading up. This is just for you to cover your bases. Look at your finances. Look at your savings. Look at maybe some things that you need to fix before you jump ship and before you jump to another area. Think of the things that you need to adjust emotionally, mentally, physically. It's really important for you to take a step back and look at everything that needs to be done before you leave. Also, you need to figure out what you're going to do when you leave. You can't just jump ship without a plan. Figure out your steps. Are you going to take a break from working altogether? Do you have the money in your account to be able to take this break? What are you going to do afterwards for work? What are you planning to do? Are you planning to go back to school? Are you planning to get a new job in a different field? Are you planning to get a new job in a similar field? What is the plan after that? What is your course of action? And lastly, what is everything that can go wrong? Because there will be things that go wrong. And nine times out of ten those things will be dealing with money. What are you prepared to do if you have a financial blip? If you need a couple thousand dollars. Are you prepared to pay a couple thousand for an emergency? It's really important for you to answer these things before you up and move to a new city or before you just quit your job because you're unhappy. Figure these things out first before jumping ship. I support you changing your life and changing things up, but doing this in the most responsible way will make your life a lot better.

Next, figure out what your end goal is. What is the ultimate goal of overhauling your life? And write it out. Are you trying to reintroduce yourself to this new version of you? Are you trying to save your relationship? Are you trying to move up the corporate ladder? Are you trying to really invest in the best version of yourself and get yourself exactly where you feel like you deserve to be? What is the end goal? And keep it in your peripheral. Write it out every day or look at it every day so you can remember what all of this was for because there are going to be days where things get so uncomfortable, so tough, so sticky. Reinvention isn't always beautiful and fun and exciting. It might feel that way in the beginning, but as the months go on and as the funds start to dry up and as the dreams start to wither, it's really important to remember why you got here in the first place and why you need to continue pushing forward. Keep the end goal in sight because there's going to be so many things that pop up that test you that make you feel like you are not doing exactly what you need to do and don't let that happen. Whenever I was leaving my job, I made the mistake of telling a lot of people what I was doing. I don't know why I did that. And I was met with a lot of criticism, just people not understanding why I was doing what I was doing. And it was because it's not their life. However, I was younger back then. I was what, 27? And I was a lot more impressionable. And words honestly stuck a lot harder to me back then. And it made me start to second guess myself. It made me second guess myself. Now, if I was honestly sitting down and writing out what the end goal was every single day, those words wouldn't have stung as hard as they did. No, those words would have gone in one ear and gone right out the other. And I wouldn't have sat there after work every day questioning myself and questioning those conversations with people and feeling like what I was doing was dumb because I had confidence in myself and my abilities and I knew what my ultimate goal was. Now, I'm living in my ultimate goal. And all those people that questioned what the end goal was and why I feel as though I deserve to just leave and do everything that I was planning to do, all those people that questioned me don't matter anymore. Because as time has gone on, my end goal has been in my forefront. It's been in my peripheral. It's been right here. I write it down every single day. I speak life into myself every single day. So, it's important to write out what the ultimate goal is and be confident in that goal. And when anybody asks you why you're doing all of this and why you're uprooting your life, and when they tell you how silly it is, you can give them a stern answer on who you are and your abilities and why you know you're not where you want to be and how you're going to get where you want to be and why you deserve it. Be so confident in your abilities that you have no choice but to thrive. Be so confident in yourself that you have no choice but to thrive in this new person that you're becoming.

And lastly, whether you need to reinvent yourself or refine yourself, nine times out of 10, if you're in a season of change, your habits probably need fine-tuning. This is a time to reset your habits overall. Wake up a little bit earlier and reset your morning routine. Take the time in the morning to meditate, journal, pray, and just really get yourself set up for the day ahead. I love doing a little reset for my morning routine because typically it's just so easy to let it slide. It's so easy to wake up later and later as time goes on. It's so easy to wake up every single morning, check social media, make that a habit. And every single time I fine-tune everything and make my morning routine a lot more intentional, everything else falls in line for me. I start to have more mental clarity. I start to be more productive throughout my day and my anxiety starts to dwindle down. Fine-tune your morning routine and make it a morning routine that leads to that person that you want to become. It's not just about writing down the things that need to be changed and changing those things. You need to change your habits overall. And your morning routine might be a big one that needs refinement. Number two is your health. Making sure you're drinking an adequate amount of water, getting your exercise in daily, eating as healthy as possible, and not leaning onto ultra-processed foods, fast foods, alcohol, especially during a season of change. This will sabotage your growth. And this will push you so far back that once you make the changes in your life, it's going to be really hard for you to celebrate the growth because you're not eating healthy. You don't have energy to thrive and you haven't been taking care of yourself. You might make these huge changes in your life, move to a new city, get a new job, etc., etc., and then fall into a deep depression because you weren't taking care of yourself along the way. So, make sure that you are eating healthy, drinking your water, taking your vitamins during this time, staying away from the alcohol because alcohol can really mess up your mindset, your momentum, and it's not a good thing to lean on during a season of change. I'll tell you that. And lastly, when it comes to your habits, make sure that you are consuming media that is inspiring. You do not need negativity in your life. You don't need negative people spewing negative rhetoric into your ear. You don't need negative media infiltrating your mind and your life. Make sure you are consuming things that are positive that give you energy to continue living the life that you want to live and that continue inspiring you day-to-day.

And that is it. Let me know if you are starting over in your life down below, what you are wanting to do moving forward in the next few months or next year and how you're planning to do that. Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope this video resonated with someone out there. And if it did, let me know down below. I'll see you guys in the next video. Peace out, girl scout. Bye.
