Wendy Williams has been in a long public struggle for autonomy ever since her health issues, such as her battle with Graves' disease and lipedema, began to impact her ability to work and manage her affairs. Now, in 2022, her financial accounts were placed under guardianship after Wells Fargo claimed she was a victim of undue influence and financial exploitation. Now, that decision effectively stripped Wendy of control over her own finances despite her continued insistence that she was of sound mind.
Now, according to Wendy, it all began when a doctor sent personal medical information to Lorie Schiller. Now, Lorie Schiller happened to be her longtime account manager at Wells Fargo. Now, that medical communication set off the chain of events that ultimately led to Wendy being locked out of her own bank accounts and losing control over nearly every aspect of her life, resulting in the appointment of a guardian to oversee all of her affairs. Now, what we had never seen until now, however, was the two-sentence letter from Wendy's doctor to Lorie Schiller. And this very letter was what started the entire ordeal. Today we have it. We're going to go through it. We're going to update you on Wendy's new hot-shot lawyer, Wendy being denied dinner with her lawyer and her niece, and Wendy allegedly declining medical testing. We are going to give you that information and so much more. Now, let's get back into it. Now, according to the Shade Room, court records show that in 2022, before the guardianship was filed, Wendy's psychiatrist, Rammy Kaminsky, wrote a letter to her financial adviser, Lorie Schiller. Now, this letter stated that Wendy had been his patient for over a year, appeared unable to make reasonable decisions, with her insight and judgment described as severely impaired.
Now, let's read this letter. This letter is from the Institute of Integrative Psychiatry and it is dated January 20th, 2022. The letter reads this: "Dear Miss Schiller, Miss Williams has been my patient for over a year now. Over the last 6 months, she has been unable to make reasonable decisions and her insight and judgment are severely impaired. Sincerely, blank."
Now, it may sound insane to us, but this basic written two-sentence letter is what ultimately set off the chain of events that led Wendy to being in this guardianship, now in an assisted living facility on the fifth floor with actual dementia-ridden patients that are unable to leave the floor without asking for assistance. The crazy part about this all is Wendy told us this back in March of 2022, and people thought she was just rambling. "And then there's this person, um, this uh, oh gosh, this uh, a former, a former doctor, a former doctor, okay, had medical information about me that I never even got. It was sent over to Lorie Schiller. So I hadn't gotten the stuff. I fired the the doctor and again all I want to know is where is my money? This is not right and certainly this is not fair. This is not fair."
Now the Shade Room goes on to say that a source close to the situation tells the Shade Room that this letter submitted to Wells Fargo Bank was instrumental in the decision to establish guardianship, which stripped Wendy of her rights and isolated her from her loved ones. The source believes the letter reflects a premeditated effort to undermine Wendy's independence. "These two sentences from a doctor shouldn't be enough to take away someone's rights. This document should never have been shared with a financial adviser or a bank," the source tells the Shade Room.
The source claims that Wendy Williams attempted to fire her financial adviser, Lorie Schiller, and manager, Bernie Young. Now, the Guardian was used as a form of manipulation. They believe that the two were working together as the manager, Bernie Young, was later arrested for using Wendy's credit card without her permission. "And this guy named Bernie Young. I know for a fact that Bernie Young used my American Express card to hire an attorney to file a petition against me. That was done with my American Express card. Bernie Young, you're no good and this is not fair at all." Bernie Young allegedly took the $10,000 from Wendy's American Express account to file a petition for guardianship over Wendy, although Wendy wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Wendy's bank, Wells Fargo, allegedly said that Wendy's former manager, Bernie, was someone who was actually acting in her best interest. "Comments like that, knowing that this man stole money from her is the reason why people feel like Lorie Schiller and Bernie were working hand in hand to get Wendy into this guardianship so everybody can ching cash out. Wells Fargo has used all this stuff to create the guardianship over me. This is not right and certainly this is not fair. The New York court system is they, you know, uh, without evidence, they're being weird to me. This court system, without evidence, they took all this information and continued with what's going on with me based on what Wells Fargo is doing. This is not fair. This is not fair, you know. And the New York court, the New York court is treating me like they did in Do you remember kung fu judge case? Do you remember that kung fu judge case? That's not right. And that is not fair. Lorie Schiller, Bernie Young, and Wells Fargo. Please let me have access to my money. This is not right."
It was hard to understand what Wendy was trying to convey at the time, but she was making perfect sense and honestly letting you know what was getting ready to happen in her situation. Now, she mentioned the kung fu judge, Judge John L. Phillips Jr., affectionately known as the kung fu judge, was a former Brooklyn civil court judge renowned for his martial arts skills and significant real estate holdings. Now, in 2000, at the age of 70, Phillips was declared mentally incompetent, and this decision was influenced by his intention to challenge Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Joe Hines in the upcoming election. Now, this declaration led to the appointment of court-appointed guardians who, over the following years, mismanaged Philip's substantial estate, resulting in financial losses and personal hardships for him.
Does this story sound familiar? Wendy was actually on to something. She was telling you what was getting ready to happen, but because of what was going on with her, she couldn't really convey her message. In 2004, Philip was forcefully relocated to a nursing home in the Bronx, far from his Brooklyn community. There he was confined to a small, unheated room and denied necessary medical care, including a proper diabetic diet. His family members were reportedly barred from visiting, and the nursing home failed to produce any court order authorizing his confinement. This led to a lawsuit filed by his nephew alleging unlawful confinement and mistreatment. And the case was settled in 2015 for $750,000, with the nursing home agreeing to repay funds misused by guardians and to compensate for the harm caused to Phillips. Wendy brought up this case to try to convey a message of what was getting ready to happen to her. "You guys always tell me about the movie I Care a Lot. This is real. This happened to a judge. This is now happening to Wendy. This happens to celebrities, to regular people every day. They play with this man's money. They play with his living conditions and ultimately play with his legacy and they had to pay for it."
So, what do you think is going to happen with this situation with Wendy? I have a feeling that some very powerful people are getting ready to go down, and they're trying their best to make sure that these truths are not uncovered.
And speaking on uncovering truths, hot-shot famed attorney Joe Tacopina is now a part of the legal team that is handling Wendy Williams' guardianship case. You know this lawyer's name and you really know his former clients like A-Rod, Michael Jackson, even President Donald Trump. "But I am Yes, I am representing her. I'm a personal attorney right now. I will be entering the guardianship case one way or another, but it's a convoluted process because the judge has to approve guardianship attorneys and the last thing they want to do is see my face in that courtroom. So, um, so but yes, I will I am representing her. I am a lawyer right now." So, they thought that locking her out of her millions, taking her phone with her big-name contacts in it would keep this woman from being able to help herself get out of this guardianship. This woman is very resourceful and she has ways of making things happen. That's why we all know that Wendy does not have frontal temporal dementia or aphasia. So, in knowing the type of attorney Joe is, they're scrambling. No one wants to get caught.
Wendy was trying to have dinner with not only Joe, but her niece, Alice. The plan was to have dinner at a New York City restaurant. That was up until Sabrina Morrissey, the guardian, pumped the brakes on Wendy leaving her fifth floor of the facility, which Wendy calls a luxury prison. This is crazy because the lawyer for Wendy's guardian, Sabrina, said that Wendy could leave whenever she wanted to. She wasn't being trapped. Anytime she wanted to see her family, she could. But obviously not. "Why aren't y'all letting her meet with her attorney? What's the problem?"
Now, the word on the curb, according to Sabrina, is that Wendy Williams declined medical testing amid her fight to end her guardianship. The article from People magazine reads this: "Wendy Williams refused medical testing amid her ongoing fight to end her guardianship. Her guardian claims in an exclusive statement to People, Williams' guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, claims that additional medical testing for the former talk show host who is 60 has been scheduled, but Williams has declined to participate. Her scheduled appointment was on March 21st. Medical testing, including an MRI, brain scan, and a neuropsychological assessment, had been scheduled for Miss Williams. Morrissey says amid reports that Williams is waiting for her to schedule a new medical evaluation. The court directed that the testing be completed in March. Miss Williams has declined to participate in the testing to date and therefore the testing was not completed."
Well, Lauren LaRose from the Breakfast Club has the latest on the truth on what's happening with Wendy Williams. Take a listen. "So, I spoke to a source close to the situation that told me that Wendy Williams wants to make sure that if she is going to be taking a test that is going to be determining whether she is, you know, cognitively impaired or not, uh whether she has the dementia, dementia that they are claiming that she has or not, she wants it to be fair. So, she wants to get a third-party independent evaluation done, something that I honestly think is really, really smart. And I'm going to tell y'all why. She also wants to make sure that whoever is doing the testing, when I say independent, is is not appointed by the judge. And yes, the judge, the conservator, they can fight it, but so can Wendy's attorneys. They can come back and say, 'Oh, no. Here's why we need to do this.' Wendy is not against taking any testing. So, the reports that Wendy is not open to taking the test are not true. Um, from everything I'm being told is that she's open to taking it. Um, she actually has a court date coming up. They'll be having a conversation about, you know, the the the attorneys and who will be where u but also that testing and wanting an independent, you know, uh, situation or independent testing that is not chosen or appointed by the conservator or the judge. Want to make sure there's no bias whatsoever. Now, I am also told that if Joe Tacopina is denied the ability to work within Wendy's case, there will be legal lawsuits that will happen against the setup, against the judge, uh just because, you know, rightfully the way that, you know, this whole thing is set up is like it should be in the best interest of the person who needs the guidance and the structure of the conservatorship and Wendy does not feel like this is that. So, from what I am told, lawsuits will fly if this does not happen."
"Baby, I cannot wait to say we did it. We did it. Joe, we did it. We did it. Joe, get that lady out the guardianship, off the fifth floor, out the nursing home, and with somebody that's going to actually care for. I just have a feeling that certain alarms are going to ring for certain someone's that have not been holding true to their oath of office. Either way, Wendy deserves better. And I don't think she's going to rest until she gets it."
