Eating this reduces Visceral Fat

There's a molecule that I've become a really big fan of due to a number of really big studies that released on its effectiveness across a whole host of different benefits. Uh but specifically in this context related to visceral fat. That molecule is resistant starches, which are a type of nonabsorbable molecule that go through our gastrointestinal system and ultimately exert numerous benefits to our body.

But the reason why I was excited about it related to visceral fat is that there's a Nature Communication study, or sorry, Nature Metabolism study and a Cell Metabolism study that are quite large that show compared to placebo that there are significant benefits in reducing visceral fat.

Now, what is visceral fat? Now, when you think of body fat, you think of typically the type of stuff that most people think of as like veins. So that's called subcutaneous fat. So it's under your skin, and people typically want to reduce that because it doesn't look as good. But when it comes to your health, the far more important one is visceral fat, which is around your organs and throughout the kind of deeper regions of your body. And higher visceral fat is highly related and implicated in many different chronic diseases. So it has an effect on insulin resistance, has an effect on your overall mortality risk. There's a number of different ways it's pro-inflammatory, and it tends to increase with age as well. So clearly, resistant starches, if they can reduce this visceral fat, that's a pretty big deal.

But the thing is that it's not just a small amount of difference. It actually has a meaningful effect. So it's actually so compelling that although I don't really change my supplement stack all that much, and I haven't in many years, uh this is the first time that I'm actually considering, or shouldn't say considering, I've already changed it, uh to incorporate these resistant starches. So the type of resistant starch is called RS2. So resistant starch type two, and the amount that was used in studies was 40 g.

Now, I'll be releasing more content on resistant starch just simply because uh I've been focused on visceral fat here, which is incredibly important, but it actually has wide-reaching effects far beyond just visceral fat. So stay tuned for.
