Top 50 Running Back Rankings & Tiers - Week 8 Fantasy Football

This may be the only running back rankings video you get me from this week because I have a ridiculous amount of fantasy teams at the moment calling my line asking me to play running back for them this weekend because half the leagues on by and you're about to have the grossest options imaginable to actually play this Sunday.

Now obviously if you have an S tier running back you put them in your starting lineup. That includes Bejian Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, and Christian McCaffrey. Now CMC is my running back one rest of season. Christian McCaffrey is the running back one in fantasy right now with 26 and a half points scored per game.

But the reason I'm going to have Bejian Robinson as the running back one this week is he gets to go up against the Miami Dolphins who currently have the worst rush defense that I've ever seen mankind put together. And we're going to put Jonathan Taylor at two because he gets to go up against the Tennessee Titans. And right now, the Indianapolis Colts project to be the highest scoring team in the NFL. And the spread on this game's 14.5 points. So, you better believe India is going to be running the ball over and over and over again.

Now, moving over to a tier. I understand, yes, the Miami Dolphins are the worst team maybe in the NFL at this point. I personally am streaming the Atlanta Falcons this week in my own league. So, I really hope Devon Hen doesn't do anything. But realistically, he has shown just an incredibly high floor ceiling combo because of his role as a receiving running back. Like, this is a player that's averaged 6.1 targets per game so far this season. So, he's sitting at 19 and a half points per game. And you've seen him in games in which the Miami Dolphins surprisingly win, he goes out there and he produces. And a game in which the Miami Dolphins put up the worst performance of the season, he still scores 13 points. So, he still has an incredibly high floor just because he's the only thing in this offense and he's going to catch a ton of balls out of the backfield and he's very dynamic.

Now, moving over to James Cook. James Cook has a great matchup going up against the Carolina Panthers. Now, I understand this Carolina Panthers rush defense just stopped Reese Hall. The week prior they stopped Javvante Williams, but still this is a spot that I personally would like to attack. Coming out of the by-week, you actually do have the Buffalo Bills pretty heavily favored in this game by about a touchdown. So, they should be able to realistically just run the ball over and over and over again.

Now, looking at Josh Jacobs, this is the running back one for my own team. You currently do have this team favored by about three points this week. So, you would think, oh, okay, well, if they're winning, they should be able to run. We know that this will be a team that would be happy to lean on the run if possible. But even in these games in which you've actually seen the Green Bay Packers trail, you actually have had Jacobs getting involved as a receiver over the past few weeks. So I mean really high floor as long as the CF's going to be fine, which will be something that we need to continue to monitor as the week goes on.

Then Javvante Williams toughish matchup going up against the Denver Broncos. Right now you actually do have Denver favored in this game by about three and a half points. This being played in Denver. Now, I will say this game has an overunder of about 50 and a half points on the week. If I'm going through and looking at the overunders across the NFL, yeah, this is tied with the Baltimore and Chicago game supposedly being the highest scoring game on the week. And with Javvante Williams, he just has almost a locked and loaded path to 20 plus opportunities ever since my Sanders went down. It's only the Javvante show.

Now, our next running back is going to be Mr. Saquon Barkley. This is the running back two on my fantasy football team. Currently averaging 13 and a half points per game. Saquon Barkley has been a disaster. Now, this matchup in particular against the New York Giants, I know a lot of people are going to say, "Oh my gosh, Mason, don't you remember? He only scored eight and a half fantasy points against the Giants two weeks back. Oh my gosh, don't you remember the New York Giants? They blew out the Philadelphia Eagles." This game is being played in Philly. It's not a Thursday night short week game. If you look at the spread on the week, you currently do have the Eagles favored by about seven points. Now, I will say possibly my favorite underdog pick them on the week is actually Saquon Barkley lower than 105 total yards. Y'all know we gave you the absolute lock of the century last week of Rasheed Rice, higher than 48 receiving yards. This is a similar level lock. Saquon Barkley has not hit 105 total yards in a single game so far this season. Well, maybe underdog expects that he is going to be bouncing back in a big time way. And while I would want to put him in my starting lineup, which I do have him and he will be in there, I do like going with the lower than 105 and a half total yards for Barkley.

Now, of course, if you wanted to check out any of those underdog projections, you can find the link to underdog fantasy in the description as well as the comment section. Code Flock will get you $100 added to your account after you play your first five. And on top of that, you're going to get a free Justin Herbert pick, higher, lower, half a total yard for the Thursday night game. Underdog Fantasy is currently the number one app in the app store because they're available in almost every state. They're an incredible app and they have the best promos in the industry. Code Flock will give you all those promos plus free questions that you can ask us in the live streams and we're going to be streaming every single day until Christmas.

Now, moving over to Derrick Henry. I actually just tried trading for Derrick Henry in my league. I offered Cam Scataboo for Derrick Henry because the projections actually really do like Derrick Henry going into the future now that you have Lamar Jackson presumably back in. While Lamar Jackson did miss practice on Wednesday, and it's going to be super important to monitor what he does in the practice on Thursday, you still have sports books giving this the highest overunder of any game in the league this week. While at the same time, you have the Baltimore Ravens heavily favored by about six and a half points against the Chicago Bears. So, Dererick Henry is going to be a jam, even though y'all know I'm not historically a massive Derrick Henry guy.

Now going over and looking at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they project to score a lot of points this week. They currently have an implied team total of 26. The only offenses that project to score more are going to be the Broncos, the Bills, the Ravens, the Chiefs, and the Colts. And you have no Mike Evans. Presumably, you have no Buck Irving. And you have no Chris Godwin. So Rashad White's receiving role is going to be very safe. He had six targets this past week. Over the past month, he's averaged about five targets per game. And over the past three weeks since you've had no Bucky Irving, he is averaging over 15 points per contest. So a super safe matchup against the Saints. You want to jam him in the dome.

Now our next running back is going to be Cam Scataboo. Scat had a phenomenal performance against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night two weeks back where he scored 31 points. He has back-to-back games being a top 12 running back in fantasy. The involvement as a receiver has been phenomenal as well where if we go through and if we look at what he's done over the past five weeks, he's near the very top of the league in targets per game. He's pretty much a lock to see 20 plus opportunities every single week.

Now, you do still have sports books telling us the Giants should regress just a bit. The only offenses they project to score more points than this week are going to be the Tennessee Titans as well as the Cleveland Browns. Now, I just traded Cam Scataboo for Quinn Sean Judkins. A lot of reasons I did this. One, I really like a lot of the matchups coming up for Judkins. Two, I sent Scat to Nathan. I get to play against Nathan in week 14, which is when you actually have Cam Scataboo on by. So, I kind of like that as well. And also, Quinnon Judkins just looks so damn good. I know a lot of y'all have gotten upset with us quote unquote ranking him too low in our rest of season rankings. And I will stand by like he's a first and second down running back in an offense that's going to trail a lot of games. It's not something that you want to be super super excited for, but you still start him every single week. This matchup in particular against the New England Patriots isn't the best where you do have the Patriots favored by about a touchdown. But I I still think Judkins is an auto start kind of regardless. And you better believe um your boy is about to be rooting for Quinn Sean Judkins heavily rest of season.

Then JK Dobbins will be our next name with JK Dobbins. Yes, he's been very bad over the past two weeks, only scoring a total of 13 fantasy points, but this is a get-right spot for him going up against the Dallas Cowboys. While technically, yes, you had the Denver Broncos winning this past week, it was in the context of the Denver Broncos trailing from start to finish against the New York Giants. I mean, yes, I guess at the very end, they were winning in the fourth quarter, right? But they weren't necessarily a team that was able to go out there and quote unquote establish the run. Now, if we're looking at Dobbins with this setup, you have you're going up against the Dallas Cowboys. You are favored in this game. This is a beautiful matchup. You're at home. Even if you are a first and second down running back that's kind of touchdown or bust in a week in which you have this many buys, this is the spot in which you would want to go ahead and you would want to play Dobbins.

Now, DeAndre Swift will be our next running back. With Swift, you are like seven point dogs against the Baltimore Ravens. And while the Baltimore Ravens have had a horrendous defense so far this season, uh, realistically it's been based off all the injuries that they've dealt with, now it seems like Baltimore is getting healthy at the right time. They are six and a half point favorites over the Chicago Bears. This is in Baltimore, so I don't know if we're going to be able to see the Chicago Bears run it over and over and over again. And we did see in games in which they're going to go out there and blow out their opponents, you actually may have some more involvement from Kyle Manungai than we were initially expecting.

Now going over and looking at Jaylen Warren. Um Jaylen Borren obviously super exciting play based off what you had this past week. I mean he has 21 opportunities. I was a little bit concerned that you were going to have Kenneth Gainwell actually eating into the Jaylen Warren workload, but that looks like it's just non-existent anymore. That concern is out the window. Even though Gainwell had a better week in week four than anything Jaylen Warren seen in his NFL career. I will say this match up against the Green Bay Packers isn't the best spot. But I mean, I'm assuming most of y'all watching this video, you're going to have to start any running back in Ctier or higher. If not, I mean, God bless you. You have a great team.

Now, Bree Hall was a running back that I ranked way too high this past week. Bree Hall was actually like high or lower 101 and a half total yards on underdog going into last week. A lot of it had to do with the fact that you had just the best matchup possible going up against Carolina. Well, here you have a good matchup going up against the Cincinnati Bengals. But I don't know if I can trust Bree. The man's had back-to-back games with fewer than eight points scored. He hasn't had a single game with um 20 or more points so far this season. So definitely I am concerned with what we have here with Bree Hall.

Then going over and looking at what we have with Alvin Kamara, Miller is out for the season. So it does look like you're going to get Kamara with a little bit of bump here when it comes to his utilization. Now with that being said, am I going to be um running out there to jam Alvin Kamar into my starting lineup? No, not necessarily. You do have the Saints as pretty heavy dogs in this matchup as well. Hey, Kamar has been horrendous this season, averaging fewer than 11 points per game.

Then looking at Kamani Vidal, Vidal is definitely interesting here because Assan Haskins is going to miss and obviously we already knew um you weren't going to have Hampton. You weren't going to have Nieras here either. Those ships have long sailed. So, it's Kamani Vidal verse the world. I I can't even tell you the other running back that's going to be active for the Los Angeles Chargers. Maybe by the time you watch this video, um, they've gone out there and they've actually traded for someone. Right now on Underdog for Thursday night, Kamani Vidal is high or lower 11.75 fantasy points, higher lower 72 and a half total yards. This offensive line's garbage. I don't think Kamani Vidal's a talented running back, but you actually do have the Chargers here in this game favored by about three points over the Minnesota Vikings.

And then, you know what? I am shocked to see this. the I I got to listen to y'all in the comment section and honestly Chase Brown's going to go to the top of this tier. Is this true? The Cincinnati Bengals have an implied team total of 25 and a half points. They are favored in this game by six and a half. Would Joe Flack is Joe Burrow come back? Like honestly, this makes it where Chase Brown is super exciting. I think I'm actually going to move Chase Brown ahead of JK Dobbins. Well, Chase Brown's been horrendous so far this season. I mean, I know everybody absolutely loved to see what he was able to do against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game in which neither defense could stop either offense. Chase Brown went out there and scored 12 fantasy points. The Chase Brown managers went nuts in the live chat. They were over the moon excited for those 12 points. Uh, realistically, he could maybe score more than 12 here just given how good this matchup appears to be against the New York Jets if they are really favored by six and a half points. So, we're going to move Chase Brown up to Btier. Yeah, crazy to see these projections with Chase.

Now, going over to Dtier, I'm going to have Jordan Mason here. Now, realistically, I do not know what we should be expecting with Jordan Mason on Thursday. Reason being is Aaron Jones just got designated to return off the IR and Aaron Jones was at practice on Tuesday. If Aaron Jones misses this game, I will be a lot more excited about Jordan Mason. he would probably be a must-start running back and he would be somebody that we're going to push up into Ctier. However, I think the expectations that at least I have right now will be that you probably have Aaron Jones back in. And if you have Aaron Jones back in, then at that point it's just going to be a committee here.

Then going over and looking at Rico Dattle, he's in a committee. I mean, I actually had Tuba Hubbard playing more than Rico Dattle this past week. Um, Rico Dattle continues to just be the much better running back from a per touch perspective. Buffalo actually doesn't have the best rush defense either. So, Rico Dattle's in a sneaky good spot. Am I going to say that he's in a um an amazing one? No. Of course, you do have the Buffalo Bills favored by about a touchdown here.

Then looking at Remadre Stevenson. Um, the Pats are favored by about a touchdown, but you do have the Cleveland Browns with a sneaky good rush defense. And if we are looking at Raadre, even though he is clearly the three-down running back and clearly the workhorse over Trevian Henderson, this dude's points from a weekly perspective, he's gone 521 55 217. So if we just look at the trend, good week, bad week, good week, bad week, good week, bad week. So I don't know. I mean, it looks like Raadre Stevenson isn't gonna be a super consistent name going into the future, but the snaps for sure are there.

The snaps were there with Jakori Cross this past week, but he wasn't able to do anything. And with Jakori Crossit, he still remains a running back that has no rushing upside whatsoever. We are now in week eight of the season and he's had 60 total receiving yards. So, he's averaging fewer than 10 receiving yards per game. He's a touchdown or bus running back and the games in which he has not scored a touchdown, he has scored 1.7, 7.7, 5.8, 4.2 points. And you're going up against the Kansas City Chiefs and you project to be a bottom four offense on the week.

Now Isaiah Pacheco obviously gives you the first rushing touchdown of the season this past week. Super exciting season high 15 carries, but realistically it wasn't a football game against the Raiders. Now, this one may not be a football game against Washington either. It will be very relevant to see if Kareem Hunt is going to be good to go for PCO or not this week.

Woody Marks played pretty much all the snaps for the Houston Texans. Now, of course, they were trailing in this game, so we didn't see a lot of Nick Chub. Nick Chubb's involvement does take a tick up this next week. I think you should expect Woody Marks to scale back some, but realistically it is a natural occurrence for rookies after the by-week actually getting better as time goes on. So with that in mind, I think Woody Marks is steaming in the right direction. I understand that he only scored 12 and a half points this past week and it was mainly off of the receiving touchdown, but realistically going to the future, I think you should be really excited about Markx as long as the Texans offense can improve.

And then Chubber will be the second running back that we have in Carolina in this tier. Like I said, Chubber played more than Rico Dattle this past week, but you just simply have had Rico Dattle as the much more efficient running back. Chubber sitting at 3.7 yards per carry so far this season. You actually have Rico Dattle up at 5.6.

Now, going over to Etier, these are the running backs that technically you can play, but I would really look to avoid it if I were you. Leading us off is Aaron Jones. With Aaron Jones, I would assume that he is the second fiddle behind Jordan Mason in this offense. And realistically, I don't even know if he is going to be good to go this game.

Um, looking at Tyler Algier, you get to play the Miami Dolphins. We've seen Alier get some involvement. Obviously, Bejian Robinson is the workhorse back here, but I mean, right now, you do have the Atlanta Falcons favored by about a touchdown in this game. And Miami has the worst rush defense that we've ever seen. So you may just have them running the ball over and over and over and over and over again, including with Algier.

Um Tony Pard is on my team. I have him on the bench this week. I really will never want to get him in. I would never want to start any Tennessee Titan player. I mean, Pard was even a marginal start early in the season whenever you had no Spears. And now Spears is taking more of the backfield.

Um RJ Harvey just a handcuffed running back at this point, but you get a good match up against the Dallas Cowboys. We know that JK Dobbins isn't really the receiving back here. That is more so Harvey who's averaging three targets a game. And then with Nick Chub, the involvement fell off a cliff this past week where he actually only had five carries and three targets. And also he was very bad with these opportunities as well. So we're going to assume that Woody Marks continues to expand his own role.

Um, with Tyron Tracy, I know he had the rushing touchdown this past week, but realistically that was from like 30 yards out. I don't necessarily know if you can come through and say like Tracy has anything in this offense going into the future.

Um, Taji Spears, he's the second running back in one of the league's worst offenses. Justice Hills, interesting if the Ravens trail in the game and they have to throw it, but you now have Lamar Jackson back and they are heavy favorites.

Um, Trevian Herson played like the total of three snaps last week. He really is just there to hold the Gatorade bottle for Madre. Kenneth Gainwell is technically averaging 11 points per game, but that's just due to the blow up that you had with 31 points in the game in which Dan Warren missed. This past week, you actually only had five total opportunities. And then with Chris Rodriguez, maybe there's a world in which they decide to go ahead and get him more involved if they don't love what they're getting from Jaka Kroski Merritt. But ultimately, you can throw Kyle Manungai, Emanuel Wilson, Isaiah Davis, um Dylan Samson, whoever the hell you want into the end of this tier.

I would say the running backs in F tier and below are the guys that there's no way in hell you could put them in your starting lineup and expect to win. But I think that's all I got for you. I really appreciate you. And of course, if you wanted to go through and follow me on the locka the century sea barkley fewer than 105 and a half total yards, it's on underdog fantasy links in the description as well as the comment section. Code flock you'll get $100 added to your account after you play your first five. Plus, you get a free Justin Herbert pick higher lower half a total yard. And code flock will give you free questions you can ask in the live streams. And I'm live streaming every single day until Christmas. But I think that's all I got for you. I really appreciate you and I really hope we get to see you out in the live stream later.
